I just pulled setsuna on my 2nd account. Just starting out so I was looking at her even though she's only a 3*. I've never seen her used before. Despite that, I think she has the potential to be very good in arena. If you look at her skills: Assassin Bow+ - Effective against fliers. If target has a dagger, it can't make a follow-up attack and this unit will. Ok, so not only does this make her a camilla killer, but this also gives her a huge advantage over Kagero, despite her being an infantry unit. Reciprocal Aid - Swap HP with adjacent ally Healers aren't the best in arena offense because it limits you (unless you have one of the good ones). Units that have sacrifice/reciprocal aid can often be good because they can heal without being a healer. Very useful after your archer has done its duty and you need to heal up one of your tanks. HP +5 Not the best - but not the worst either. Her extra HP should allow her to survive to use Assassin Bow+ and Bowbreaker more effectively. Bowbreaker 4 If unit's HP >= 50% in combat against a bow user, unit makes a follow-up attack and foe cannot. Ok, so again she can kill more metas - takumi and Jeorge. I'm assuming this works as follows: you let takumi attack first to get you down to 50% hp, trigger this effect so you get to attack twice and takumi loses his abillity to attack twice. If he's not dead you get to attack again on his next turn. I'm not sure if the abillity can activate if she reachers <= 50% during a fight or not though. Can't talk about her stats because no ones reported her 5* lvl 40 anywhere yet. Overall this unit seems to be a Robin that can kill Camilla, mages (Robin is horrible against other mages), and afterwards heal up some of the other units you can use to kill anything else. Should this unit not be more used? Anyone try to use her or have thoughts?

Please put Taku on a horse. He needs a buff.

For me its really not about a gambling high. Its about work. Too many games these days just hand you things I like the idea of a game where you could work towards something for months. I think you have a very unfair opinion of people like me who appreciate the RNG effect in summoning. I understand its annoying to grind but if you got everything immediately you wouldn't play the game very long. Nevertheless I do agree that grinding for skillups is stupid. I shouldn't have to get 10 Ephraims when he's only in the focus for 10 days to max him out. Another game I play has units that are given out in events that can be used to skill up any character. Would love to see something like that implemented. Oh and I agree Innes would be awesome!

The Lucky Unlucky - Crying in the Corner

In all reality, boons/banes don't matter very much, especially right now. Most of the time you'll be trying to get weapon triangle advantage or OHKO mages/archers by sneaking up on them. If your Abel has bad boons/banes and their mage has good boons/banes then you're still going to OHKO the mage with a brave lance. Should be able to kill Taku as well. The only exception would be if you have a speed bane and they have a spd boon which can really screw you up since you only need +5. I'd say with your 15 5*s you shouldn't have any issues in the arena despite the bad banes/boons. Not saying they're irrelevant but its definitely not going to prevent you from winning. I voted for rerolling though, however, because I feel like it would be a good feature (since feathers are already rare, it wouldn't be too OP). But I'm not too upset its not in the game because I feel like late-late game you'll have multiple of the same 5*s for merging and you should be able to get the right boon/bane at that point. -

I would add something in the FAQ about merging units. I heard that merging units together would give you a discount on upgrading them, only to find the discount is the sale price of that unit. For example, if you need 20,000 to make a 5* then merging for a discount would turn it to 19,700. Not worth it and I wasted one of my Chroms doing this. Really, you should only merge 5* units unless you're near the character limit. -
I disagree I think this would break the game. If everyone could trade heroes everyone could get whatever heroes they like completing killing the RNG of summoning. I much prefer the feeling of getting the hero that you really wanted after spending all your orbs only summoning his type exclusively. Also yes, what Brand said. I would have like 10 Nintendo accounts...

Re-positioning. I get so mad when my 2 blue mages are paired against a camilla and my other units can't get there in time. I would have liked to see weapons be purchasable and allow you to equip any weapon to any character (assuming the weapon goes with the characters weapon class) but it's too late for that. Instance where you get to bring 2 teams of units. During the campaign, something similar to path of radiance's special mission where you get to choose reinforcements who show up after 3-4 turns would be epic. Hero feathers should be obtained from winning any/all maps. Choice between A/B/C skills. Units should have to choose between skills

Oh wow, I didn't expect an event like this to last that many days. Time to level units I don't care about! -

I was picturing units with 100def being immune to all damage past +10 :p The biggest advantage would be +ing a unit with average speed to the point where he can double attack against other average speed units with no + -
Well thats what happens when a game is so addicting you stay up till 2:00am. I meant 20,000 feathers and then 19,700 respectively.

Nah, I have a team of 5*s and I still have trouble with the last two chapters on lunatic. Those missions are tough no matter who you have. The last chapter on hard isn't too bad but I did have to use a lights blessing for the fifth mission. My advice to you is to use the focus summons to your advantage. If theres no nocolors in the current focus (like right now) and you open the summoning page and see 5 nocolors...I'd just open one and reroll. I think at that point, the orb discount probably isn't worth it. If theres only 1-2 nocolors then maybe you just go ahead and open them anyways, however. I could be wrong though, maybe it is more efficient to open them all always if you're nat5 hunting but its been working for me pretty well.

Yes, I've heard the same thing... Don't be fooled, the reward for this is a joke. I kept hearing that it will give you a discount on an upgrade but couldn't find any information as to how much. I had two chroms and as much as I wanted to evolve both of them and feed one to the other for skill ups (Chrom is an awesome unit, and easier skill ups), I decided the mystery needed to be solved, optimistic that the discount would be somewhere around 50%. I merged them and it decreased the cost for 5*ing chrom from 10,000 20,000 to 9,700 19,700. I don't think its ever worth it. I wish they kept their +1 status or something. That would also help new players advance through the game (3*s worse than 5*s but easier to skill up). EDIT: Oh actually 300 is the feather sale price of a 4* unit. That's probably where they get it from. Still... a bit of a let down

Needing more red untis is a good problem to have. Most of the best units happen to be red so maybe your next 5* will be a red. I should also mention the more summons you do without getting a 5* increase the chance of getting a 5* until you get one. Its in the details of the summoning page. So you're due, let us know what you get.

If you really want Julia only pull those orbs. This event is only open for 10 days so I'd say forget about orb efficiency. The issue is if you don't get it in 10 days, then every time they add new 5*s to the overall non-focus pool you odds of ever getting Julia will continue to go down (debbie downer over here). Don't open any uncolored orbs unless you want taku because there's no focus in that category right now. Better to get 2 Ephraims IMO for skill ups than uncolored units (again, unless you want taku). Best of luck!

Well, at least its Nowi! Nowi is an amazing unit. I have 6 5*s and if 4 of them weren't blue units that I like more because of personal connection with them in their origin games, I'd still be using her. I will say, Nowi is significantly better in arena defense and story/tower than she is in arena offense. She doesn't hit hard like Taku and doesn't have enough hp/def to live forever. Great unit outside arena though. I feel bad for you, the only 5* I sitll want is Leo which I'll probably never get. Otherwise, I got 3 units I wanted REALLY bad and 3 untis I didn't want too much but 2 of them are awesome. I would actually recommend resetting if you feel any connection to certain units. Nothing felt better than getting Ephraim and Eirika on the same day. 4* units can be gotten again and I don't expect the resest exploit to allude Nintendo for much longer. Otherwise, I sometimes do wish I didn't end up with a full time of 5*s before I started the game. It accelerated my game almost too quickly. I wonder how much more fun it would be if I actually trained my units as I went thorugh the story instead of just killing everything. So maybe you're lucky after all :p

Excellent points. I wasn't aware 5 friends gives you some extra, only have 2 :( The selling units is also an excellent point, I'd forgotten all about that. Still, its a pretty abstract way to get feathers since you'd never sell 5*s and earlygame you'd probably keep all the 4*s as well. 2 and 3 *s don't seem to do much. I'd be interested to see a study done on how many feathers/orbs you could get on average assuming you sell all 2/3/4 *s you get. My point with arena is the rank reward. I feel like orbs would be more desirable to players late game since they can't get any more from the story. This would encourage competition and progression. Feathers, are something you need to progress and yet you're going to start getting them from the rank reward after you've already progressed. Sure, you'll still be needing to evolve units late game (some are better than nat5s) but I feel like evolving units is more relevant to new players. Getting 4*s isn't really an issue but I feel discouraged from leveling 4*s past lvl20 since I know I'll be evolving them eventually to 5*. Thus, I really only use my 5*s with the exception of a horse and flyer unit for quests. But yea, props to nintendo for fixing some of the issues right away. I just hope this issue gets fixed as well.

The stamina was originally so silly that you can only play 2 missions every 4 hrs. Nintendo fixed this by making the tower half cost forever. Summons are rare, but I don't think thats too much of an issue since it keeps 5*s somewhat rare as it gives everyone a team(at least 4 units) of 5*s and makes the rest hard to get. Arena points seem to be handed out like crazy I still haven't run out of refills. Badges needed to make 5*s aren't even really rare. If you still find any of the above things annoying, you can buy orbs to help with that. The only one that would requier a bit of work is using orbs as stamina refills to get badges but they're handed out so quickly its not an issue. And then theres feathers...the one thing Nintendo hasn't addressed. You get 5 feathers for talking to one of your units which might happen once or twice a day. Other than that, assuming you've done your arena quests, you do 7 arena matches and just wait till next season. This means you can evolve 1 5* every month or so. Now, this is totally understandable, F2P games often have a feature that is unecesssarly hard to grind and very easy to purchase with real money....but you can't even buy them. I'm not sure I understand what Nintendo's going for with this? Again, if they want to get you to pay for feathers then I'd understand since they have to make money somehow. But you can't even do that so there's no incentive. The other, and perhaps biggest, issue is Nintendo's decision to make the primary way of getting feathers the arena. The whole point of feathers is to evolve your units so you can progress through the game. The whole point of arena is to provide something to do late game. How do they expect you to get to late game if the only way to do so is score highly in the arena? This has resulted in rendering 94% of your summons useless because to progress through the game you have to get 5* summons so you can avoid the system entirely. I suppose this encourages you to buy orbs...but I doubt Nintendo is that much of a mastermind manipulator. The best thing to do would be to add a feather reward for completing any map (scales with average level of enemy). This would allow you to get feathers naturally and would end up being similar to base currency in other games. The final issue I'd like to bring up is how I'm sitting here with 60 badges and 10k feathers (which is basically what I started the game with). Clearly, theres got to be an oversite of some sort. These resources are completely parallel - one is useless without the other. So, shouldn't they be equally hard to get? To be clear I am completely addicted to the game and with the exception of what I've said above I think it turned out great. I have some other gripes (like the simplified single weapon triangle), but they don't bother me much at all. Just feathers...horrible system.

Or maybe she's being controlled by an inner demon or an outside force. Like every other fire emblem game xD

In arena you're going to have a lot of trouble against noncolored units (not just taku). Unfortunately, you don't have anyone like Robin that deals extra damage. I would 5* Abel and in arena make it your number one goal to get rid of all the takus and other good noncolored units. Afterwards, should be easy mode if you're smarter than the AI. You already have Ephraim who is the best focus right now. Unless you want to go for Eirika to get the set like me (which is really cool and they work decently together) I'd say wait until another focus becomes available. Another Robin (or a Cecilia) focus would be game changing. Right now your best bet to counter Taku is Abel. Pretty much anything with a brave weapon can do it, but horses and flyers are the best at it due to their mobillity. So many people are trying to get Tak but they don't think about how easy the game is if you get a Taku counter and everyone else is using him xD. Anyone know if you can merge units unlimited times? Like could I get a lvl40+40 unit or something OP? -
In order: Linde Robin Nowi Ephraim Sheena Eirika Is it a problem that I have 4 really good blue 5*s and 2 medicore-bad green/red? Yes...And I'm running out of story mode orbs. Nevertheless very content with both Eirika and Ephraim. I love both characters.
