  2. Lol why would they do SD + NM? They've already remade each book of the Archanea Saga 2-3 times, it would be a massive wasted opportunity to not get the older games out there. Then again, the fact NM has no official localised release does make it a distant possibility. FE4/FE5 doesn't make much sense given how different the two games are, and FE5 does continue into the second generation a couple of chapters so I don't know how that would work either. Tellius is pretty plausible, but PoR/RD still hold up very well compared to older games. Sure, that means that they don't require as much effort to match modern day standards, but I feel like it also means there's less incentive to remake them. Also, both are officially localised. Elibe sounds the most likely to me. Binding Blade isn't localised and Roy continues to be very popular with the fanbase thanks to Smash; furthermore, there is potential for child inheritance which IS loves as we all know. Like, you pair up Rebecca and Sain for more strength on Wolt or something. The director of the team that worked on SoV has gone on record that he wants to remake Binding Blade the most too.
  3. Awesome, I'm looking forward to that! I might put my playthrough on hold until then. Nice work with persevering with the script review. Is there a way to see current progress or choices being made before the big release?
  4. Looks like the official translations are 'Lifis' and 'Safy', with the former's release in Heroes. Also, 'Perne'. That was a pretty helpful release haha I started playing the game again recently, and the guy in the northern house in Chapter 8 says "Ullur's Ulcers!" The capitalisation of 'Ulcers' is a bit odd but it's okay, I just thought that it was 'Ullr' already, so I guess that's more official localisation. Geeze Louise!

I recall in the original PE thread and patch notes that Cirosan said that he (and the team) made up a lot of new dialogue for visiting NPCs, as the base game usually just has a few lines similar to what you posted. Another example was an old man who pontificated for a while on how pure water is created, from a certain type of tree dew or something, instead of just handing one over and saying goodbye. Tbh I had a problem with this early on, especially with how Cirosan was very dismissive of the vanilla script, in a kind of 'I can do better' sense. That attitude is still sucky, but the changes do add some flavour like the later FE games do. Didn't know that sprites were changed though, that's a bit much.
  6. Hmm, seems that 'Darna' as in the Tower of Darna is now spelt 'Dahna', going by Heroes' recent release of Ullr. No idea if that's referenced in Thracia, though.
  7. Very nice to hear about your projected plans for the patch! I'm keen to see how the script will change, though it's a long while yet. Does the exclusion of the script revisions until release also include canonically incorrect names of characters and places? Like, Sara with her Kia Staff have been released in Heroes; last I checked, her name was Sarah and the staff went by Kaia instead. Unless I'm remembering incorrectly, from the old PE script, though I didn't see that in the pdfs. EDIT: I just reread the thread and Sara/Kia was fixed, so my bad. I'm not sure about recent Heroes additions but I assume you're on top of things.
  8. Huh, and here I was thinking this patch couldn't get much better! Massive thanks and kudos to Miacis & everyone on the team who worked on and contributed to this great piece of work. Lil' Fiana also sounds promising; I'm fine with LM at the moment but doing a purist run in the future is an interesting option. Much appreciated, again 🙂
  9. I had been wondering about this myself for a while now. Cirosan's reasoning was basically just that he didn't like the new names so he made them whatever he wanted; it's reassuring to know you're performing research and consulting native speakers. Looking forward to the next update!

  12. Hey mate, just tried this out and I'm on chapter 1-4 atm. Though I'm still in the beginning, it's working great so far - portraits and sprites are solid, the new classes and inverse promotions are integrated well, interesting maps and conditions (although escape in 1-1 would've been better Thracia-style tbh, as it's really more like seize as is), and cool music (props for using Ape Escape!). I do have a couple of issues which I believe you might have noted under bugs. The freeze at the end of 1-3's cutscenes occurred and when I reloaded a save state before taking out Ghirken, it always froze even after skipping the scenes. Choosing suspend also froze the game. I could only continue by loading the auto-suspend after resetting the game; that definitely needs to be fixed. Otherwise, the game jitters a bit in scenes, like echoed selection sfx occasionally when clicking through dialogue. The music also seems to rise and fall in pitch quite a lot, making me feel vaguely woozy when it happens 😖. Maybe that's on me but I've had no problem with mainline series sounds. Lastly, one small nitpick. When pressing the right shoulder button on the character stat screen to show info, it starts on the title which tells you that pressing select will display growths. This is great, but you can't press left to check unit name info when on the title so you have to press down to move to stats then press left. A minor bother but yeah, a fix would be cool 😉 EDIT: Oh yeah, I also got an S rank bow (boog-something) from a generic mage who was only carrying a fire tome iirc, in chapter 1-2. Was this intentional? The boss mentioned a powerful bow, but maybe that was referring to the longbow enemy. Also, after doing the second escape chapter, I was happy not everyone had to escape first; damn that was hard lol.
