Eh, I don't know how to feel about that. On one hand, having the time crystal helped me not restart a battle from the very beginning over and over again. Maddening can be so punishing, even if you are ready... But on the other, it does take a lot of the surprise and oh shit factor. Honestly, the chapter 21(?), I activated the reinforcements behind me, then went nope because i wasn't ready. Set up all my units near by and realized it was because I went past some line in the map. Cleaned up house and then the reinforcements were not an issue. Maybe give me battle saves from RD instead? Enemy generals can't be doubled and their resistance is high enough that 2 or three mages can't consistently kill them. Give enemy mages with thunder forged thunder + and dire thunder (or fuck it just let them double with thoron).

You can enjoy the game using op units, units that need a lot of babying, or using a mix of them. It is your game, and if someone says you are playing wrong, they missed the point of something being a game. It is also important to see the context of tier lists. They are typically done in the sense of which units will lead you to most easily beat the game, often with LTC in mind for fire emblem. That doesn't mean you have to value that. It also not impossible to accomplish 'good' runs with non S-tier units. The run wouldn't be as easy, but it should still be possible to get 'good' results.

I think the problem is making unfair comparisons. Realistically, if you are giving x amount of stat boosters to a unit, you should compare the other unit with the same amount of stat boosters. Yes they can't both get it on one play through, but that's the point. The best units, will always be the ones that use the resources you give them to great effect. So if you find Lapis to still be worse than Chloe or Kagetsu when given the same amount of resources, then Lapis is still worse (in terms of stats) to Chloe or Kagetsu. Note that just because a unit is worse, doesn't mean they are bad or you are wasting time using them. Also, I have trouble with the moving goal-posts going on here. The title claims that Lapis is as good or better than Kagetsu, when thats proven wrong, all of a sudden it was just about experimenting and trying stuff out? You know, it is ok to be wrong, as long as you can admit you were wrong and call it a day.

The enemies on maddening will carry them sometimes, and can pack a punch, specially in some paralogues and mid game chapters. In general, if I use them, I give them to a unit that won't be doubling during enemy phase. During player phase they have a very specific use, but its not really worth. Although i have heard they are great as engage weapons (I haven't had the need to try that though). If you are going to get rid of them, throw them down the well. The well is great and hungry

Eh, I'm 92 hours in and I haven't had any issues. The music isn't wow worthy, but i also don't hate it.

Note: I mostly remember the impressions left by the games. I can't pinpoint more specific stuff since it has been a while since I played them. I can't speak for everyone, but I found Shadows of Valentia the best 3ds fe game. Personally, I don't give two shits about a lot of the mechanics games like Fates and Awakening have. The marriage+kids stuff feels exceedingly contrived and distracting, and speaking for fates specifically, the amount of fan service and frankly creepy petting zoo was kinda off-putting. I much prefer the simpler post battle menus of FE PoR and RD, which maybe due to them being my first games. Either way, I much rather they have a focus on battles and maps than spend resources trying to get everyone to bust a nut. Fates was good in terms of combat, but there was stuff that made it frustrating. I found it very annoying that my units could have great stats, but then in comes this enemy that can inflict massive debuffs, and now my unit has to cower and run away. Whats the point of having a good growths, if the enemy can lower your offensive/defensive level for a good chunk of the turns. And yeah rally exists, but not having a way to get rid of it immediately is still very annoying. Debuffs themselves are fine, like in engage, but there you have legitimate ways to counter them. Shadows of valentia felt like the most straight forward turn based game of all the 3ds games, and I had a lot of fun playing it to the end.

If this is possible, the well would be so broken. Expert books and statboost freely available would be so broken.

I am lunatic as well. Playing through and I want to use certain units, but they are so weak it is hard to spoon feed them cause they do so little damage and are so frail. I'm on chapter 5 and it seems easier to just kill if i can kill right away with a stronger unit. I chose classic, but I'm bad cause every time someone dies i use the time crystal >.< Or i reset the battle. I tell my self this time is the last, but it isn't XD. I did make it through and got pretty far, but then the boss moved and i guess the time crystal isn't infinite or it stops working when boss moves, idk, but the bastard killed one of my units and i refused to accept reality. It was a pretty good run up till then though, my general basically kept up the rear and was a beast, single handedly stopping quite a few units from being exceedingly troublesome.

English pronunciation is confusing. I think its passable if you happen to not be aware how to pronounce a word. This is no where near jimmy neutron being annoying.

Unless you can really explain what was wrong with their Roe v Wade decision, without basing it on abortion or why states should be able to tell a woman (or people for that matter) what they can do to their own bodies, I don't think you can really claim to stay out of the argument of abortion. I've been on this forum for the past 14 years, since I was 14. I will probably keep lurking here for a long time. I am not as active as i once used to be, other things in life did materialize and i had less time to spend here. That and I lost a lot of love for FE after Awakening since that seems to have sparked the game into half a dating sim the other half an strpg. Plus the crazy op skills on both enemies and your fighters really made it kinda lame. I need to stop before i start ranting and waving my cane ala cranky kong. What keeps me coming back are the posts in serious discussion. Honestly, when I'm bored or something nuts is going on in the US i like to drop by and read people's takes. Some of my favourites are long Shoblongoo's posts. Those are great.

A 3ds is what i have been using actually 🙂 I can confirm that I was able to access the GTS. Though i couldn't make any suitable trades (i have very limited options since i'm only a few hours in). I just learned about this, but it has been available since 2018. Either way, this DNS server will allow you to get mystery gift events on all gen 4 and gen 5 pokemon games. Its pretty damn sweet. I think, but I'm not sure, that it also lets you trade using the GTS. Here is how to access the servers and mystery gift events I was pretty psyched since I've been contemplating starting over in HG/SS and Platinum, and this lets me do just that without losing out on a ton of goodies.

Thats a pretty lackluster post game to be honest and not enticing at all. Gym leader rematches do not make up for attempting to clear 5 facilities, most of which required 50 battles to complete, and said battles required good team building, thought and preparation. Edit: It seems your post agrees with me. Still I've seen people claim this game has post game like HG/SS and that is just laughably and incomprehensibly wrong

Man i so wanted to buy this game after the leaks and the patch... but no battle frontier means this is a big ass nope for me. We already know this won't be the main venue for online battling, why couldn't there be an actual post-game for PvE? Then again I'm not surprised because gamefreak has a thing against the battle frontier. If they remake platinum, or better yet the platinum rom hacks (ive read this game was made in unity so it apparently will be a lot easier to make rom hacks of it), that will be worth playing.

I don't have a study or something to back this up, but i think, some people rarely look into the origins and veracity of rumours, ideas, supposed things that happened, opinions and stuff stated as fact that are spread on the internet. From experience talking to some people irl and online, some people act as if they see it on twitter, then for all intents and purposes it originated in twitter. Disregarding the fact that it might have spread on twitter but the source is from somewhere else.

In stuff like monster hunter. Making a monster that knocked you around multiple times get stun locked and fail to even hit you once is fantastic. Warrior games I'd probably have enjoyed when i was younger. Now though, they just feel like mindless button mashing and that isn't any fun for me.

I'm not quite sure what your point is or how it relates to the point I made in that post. Are you saying we should assume all petty crimes are indicative of more nefarious intentions or deeds? Cause that is a fucked up mentality, the kind that leads to cops shooting and killing people of colour for the mere fact of answering the question "do you have a gun". Selling drugs didn't lead him to kill the cop. Neither did driving with heavily tinted windows or owning an assault rifle. Doing or owning these things does not make a person a vicious killer. Should you handle a person with a weapon carefully and on alert? Absolutely. Should you shoot them, potentially kill them, on the spot the minute you see the weapon because you assumed they were going to cause you harm? No. Self-defence only works in the case were you are actively going to be harmed. Similarly, a violent police response should be reserved for the cases where a criminal has already initiated their own violent response to the police. And no running away, resisting being restrained or struggling to breath is not a violent response that justifies the use of a gun, choking, or killing. Neither is being high or drunk.

In all fairness, a burglar could be armed in any country. Even if it is illegal. Weapons are an effective threat and likely to force people into doing what you want. Still i think it is something that comes as a risk to the job. You are a cop that stops illegal activity, you might get shot. Having a weapon doesn't really always help as you can see from that video Armchair posted earlier. Should the situation escalate to shots fired, there should be a armed police standing by ready to react. I'm just saying the first assumption shouldn't be that petty criminal will turn into a bloodbath. Given that most humans aren't vicious killers, I don't know why we'd expect speeding people or thieves to be so. It isn't easy to escape law enforcement, and killing a cop is bound to get you far more trouble than simply giving in or attempting to flee without causing harm to a human.

What crime exactly are we talking about here? Cause when people talk about defunding the police, at least in the most common way I've heard it before, is that you take the money you took from police departments and make new departments and enforcement that are meant to deal with petty crime (minor theft, trespassing, traffic violations, etc.) as well as mental health crises. When it comes to murders, rampages, and other seriously dangerous activities being committed, the police you know will still be there to take care of it. The idea here is that you don't need a bloated police department armed to their teeth and full of idiots to be handing out speeding tickets, dealing with trespassing, and other minor crimes. Will there be cases were petty crimes turn into serious crimes? Yes. Just like it does now. Even now, with the ridiculous budgets police departments get, most crimes they stop are being stopped while they are in progress. Armed police should be reactionary. They should never be the first response.

Definitely pets that act cute. I much rather a cat that wants to be in my lap all day than a cat that swipes when i try to pet or a cat that just keeps knocking shit around the house. Unfortunately, pets are just like humans, each one has a different personality and you can never fully tell what you are signing yourself up for.
