  1. I just vote for who I like best, which happens to not be lords in most cases. I don't really like the idea of voting characters because they "deserve it" over just favoritism. Too bad anybody not 3H or who was in the top 10-ish range last time is basically a dead vote, especially if Farfetched banners really aren't a thing anymore. I don't think IS really cares about anything past the top results otherwise.

904f2df2054289c9310a4b65a45af8e4.png ... which is a lot better than one can say for Adrift. As always take with a inch of salt, it's probable that brigading was more vigorous here, but this sure as fuck isn't the least popular banner ever made lmao

The vocal minority alt hate back then seemed a lot more rabid than #FE distaste is(feels more like people just ignoring it than dislike bombing). It'll be more interesting to see how the banner performs, as the game itself kind of flopped so not sure what to expect. Even the dislike-bombed banners like Hot Springs and Legendary Lyn still seemed to perform well before, though.

One - the Byleths debuted on different banners.

Two - Enliron and Facinna are identical swords with the same beast effective bonus.

Three - the stat spread variance for Rowan and Lianna is fairly minor and doesn't actually translate to Heroes because magic damage swords don't exist.

It might actually be more plausible to bring Heroes to Warriors rather than vice versa. Namely, Sharena would make a good stand-alone addition to Warriors, as a unique female lance lord with a friendly personality that fits right into a crossover cast.

They were still released at same time and still both Byleth.

I thought they were different, but even so, the Byleths had the same prf effect as well so it still shouldn't be an issue. And there's no reason they have to adhere strictly to their Warrior stats and effects either. Lord knows they don't stick with how every unit was in their original games. Give their prfs different extra abilities, slightly different statlines and skill sets and boom, not identical. They can easily make them distinct or if they wanted, even if they kept them all as sword units.

I would take another Warriors game with the Feh lords in it for sure, it was a fun game. (what we need most from Warriors in Feh is axe Lissa anyway, a true miracle of the universe that shouldn't be contained to one game)

Yeah. A Warriors banner is unlikely because:

    A) Rowan is a living genital wart.

    B) It only has 3 notable OCs. 4 if you count Velezark.

    C) All 3 OCs are sword wielders with identical movesets.

I don't think C matters. Look what they did with male and female Byleth, and they really are just the same character. they made them different even with having the exact same prf. The Warriors OCs at least had different prf effects (different effective damages if I remember) and they could get the same kind of stat variance and different skills as the Byleths did.

Real reason a Warriors banner wouldn't happen is we're just long past the time for it by now, and I guess they didn't want to try what they're doing with the TMS one at the time, and settled on those event maps instead.

@Alkaid "Sounds like some people will be real mad if this ends up just being a one-off banner to promote the port of the game."

i mean... isn't it already clear as day?

they haven't done this banner earlier in 3 years because they had 0 reason to do it, TMS#FE was a flop, but now is the only right time to advertise the switch port. how? with a FEH banner, of course. not gonna lie, this marketing move is kinda genious, FEH's fanbase is much bigger and MUCH more likely to be interested in this game than your average nintendo fan watching a direct could ever be

It's definitely a good marketing idea, that's for sure. I guess the only reason they didn't do a Warriors banner was because it was too early on in Feh's life for them to think a full-on banner for those characters was worth it or something. But yeah, I assume this is a one-off banner, even if it's not impossible they could do something in the future I guess. I think people jumping to how they should get X and Y from the game next and even seasonal alts in the future are getting ahead of themselves. And pretty obvious that the girls are probably the most appealing picks aside from the main guy if they had to narrow it down to 5 total units. I don't think the dissing of female-heavy banners here is reflective of majority sentiment.

Digimon had some really horny designs that I never quite picked up on as a kid tbh

Lilithmon should have been the duo unit. 👏

These Digimon TMS designs look really weird against regular FE, but I'd be more interested in this banner if they were the unit instead of the TMS original characters being the lead, who I don't know. Kiria is blocking the view of Ladydevimo- I mean, Tharja.

  7. 2 minutes ago, Tybrosion said:

That, and this is almost definitely a no-demote banner. Altena better be demoting if that is the case.

What's surprising is it appears like they'll go into the normal pool. So while it's special it's not technically a seasonal. Guess it's like the Adrift and Fallen banners then..

  8. I wonder if the new Session skills will get used much. They seem decent but it's not always going to be viable to have the unit move after 2-3 others to get the most out of. I'd probably stick with the basic stuff even if they were more available.

The Hot Springs banner was a terrible idea and you know it.

I thought it was great, people can have different opinions bud.

  9. Just now, Gregster101 said:

Honestly? While I may not too big on this banner, I prefer this over fucking Hot Springs. Reason being that 1. It's actually fucking new characters (bonus points for being characters from a game that previously didn't have any characters in at all), and 2. The Hot Springs banner was also just a really bad idea in general.

So yeah personally I'll take this banner over a second Hot Springs banner with more Fates alts any day of the week

Hot Springs was one of my favorite banners from last year and a fun theme. I'd love more Fates alts, since it's been a lot of skipping new units with all these older character banners. Stuff from spinoff games and crossovers, I'll pass.

  10. Not interested in #FE, idols or any of that so probably a skip from me.. Really disappointed that this must be why they cut Hot Springs this year, which I was looking forward to, to replace it with this to go with the Switch port of the game. That makes it effectively a seasonal too.

Even though I like Tharja.. that's not a Tharja to me. Not as a Persona-like familiar to another character. And Tsubasa/Caeda looks pretty busted geez. More powercreep.

And can I say that the people who are saying ex-Camilla voters will just go for Loki and Plumeria are grossly overestimating how many people on team Camilla were members of the "Horny on Main" team? Don't get me wrong I am aware that a portion of her voters simply saw tits and voted for tits, and that was their only reason. But I would like to remind you that characters such as Tharja and Loki did extremely well too, which leads me to believe that the horny squad simply voted for many sexy characters and not just Camilla.

Loki's actual character is underrated. Aside from the sexy look she's been a fun on-off antagonist in the Feh story too. Her playful teasing attitude usually lights up whatever chapter/paralogue she's in and makes her entertaining. It's a shame she and anybody with an overtly sexy design gets categorized just for that. (not that I disagree on plenty of people probably voted for tits, though nothing wrong with that either)

Speaking of, my most wanted idea for a seasonal is characters wearing casual modern clothes. Imagine a banner with all your favorites wearing a top and jeans. I'd throw all my money at that.

Same, that'd be cool to see. I guess Picnics might be as close as they get for now.

I might be in danger of whaling if it happened.

  13. Hot Springs was one of the few seasonals I actually bothered to pull on in the past year. Both because of the fact it was Fates alts and it was a fun theme. Just hitting the check marks of the major holidays + brides and swimsuits was getting a bit stale, I liked something new and different being added to spice things up. Same with the picnic banner, which I also hope they do again. (it was great excuse to make casual clothes alts)

Unless the new heroes has Charlotte or Severa I should be save to save, at least. I haven't had a regular new heroes banner I've been interested in for almost a year now.

  14. Don't think there's much need for debate about 3H sweeping the top spots due to recency and popularity. If Celica and later Alm could do it(though he was kind of a pity vote to go with Celica) with Echoes not even being that popular of a game, 3H characters definitely will. Dimitri and Edelgard have easy first place, and Claude's an easy 2nd unless Marth fans really get it together this time after being burned last year with complacency. I'm guessing Sothis for second on the female side. Otherwise Dorothea is popular enough to have a chance, with Eirika the only older one I think might get rallied for if her fans pull it together like Marth's need to.

Edit: I forgot all about the Byleths since they have zero personality so of course I forget them. They have a high chance for second place on either side too, especially female since her design seems really popular.

Personally, I'll probably vote for Loki or Cordelia. Too bad they might not even make top 10 again with the influx of 3H girls. I wouldn't be surprised to see Lysithea, Dorothea and Bernie all in the top 10. Not a 3H fan so I'm not planning on voting for any of those. I'm surprised by the high expectations of Plumeria, though I guess she could make top 10 too. Her lewd dream thing is fun but I find Triandra's design nicer out of the fairies. If I do vote for an OC it'll be Loki, though. Here's to hoping for the day I can make a full team of her.

  15. Voted somewhat bad for both.

The state of FEH has just been wild powercreep this year and a huge focus on Aether Raids. Meanwhile the pve events are mostly auto-battle fodder or still not very interesting like Rokkr Seiges and Lost Lore. Hall of Forms was nice, though kind of sad a reskinned training tower with some gimmicks is one of the better new modes in a long time.

Personally I'm unhappy with the game these days, but that's more from abysmal gacha luck than even the mentioned issues. I'll admit I'm mostly sticking with it out of inability to break a habit than having fun. Months and months of bad pulls really kills the enjoyment of a gacha all by itself, even without the other issues going on.

There's been some positives like banner variety and more demotes now with these instant 3-4* Characters, though I can't say I've been too enthusiastic with the selection myself.

As for IS, I think the greed with FEH has just become extra apparent between mythics, powercreep and now duo units. People used to make a big stink about powercreep but it seems the majority have just accepted it now. I think the comparison of old Ephraim vs the duo Ephraim says a lot about how bad things have gotten. Powercreep is normal in gachas but it feels pretty excessive here. I also don't like increased emphasis on legendaries/mythics to compete in pvp modes they've gone for. Mythics to have any hope of scoring well in AR, pair up legendaries for AB, now duo units as cheese buttons in AR and even more BST for arena, etc. Got unlucky with getting a second offense mythic? Goodbye AR rankings. Didn't manage to get lots of merges for your Legendary Alm? Goodbye AB rankings. The value of competitive rankings in this game just keeps going down.

Aside from FEH, I didn't like Three Houses at all so I'm not too happy with the state of the main series either. If Three Houses' gameplay is their new direction then I might not be on board for the series much longer. If Pokemon Sword and Shield didn't appear to be such a mess then Three Houses would be my biggest disappointment of the year.

Ah yes, Fjorm... coming along when aiming for something else. Luckily for me, that pain didn't go to the same extent as your case and she made a good sacrificial lamb by becoming Att/Def Bond before it became easily obtainable.

The sunken cost fallacy only gets worse. While only you can decide on what is best, you definitely need to be clear on that principle to avoid an even worse outcome. With that said, I came back from the dire situation and it is also a possibility for you, either through luck or shift in interests (it helps that after spending the first year in this game it has now become entirely pointless as I would get almost no benefit worth the wasted money anymore. Getting nothing interesting for a while does kill the mood, though). Taking notes on pulls also really helps putting things into perspective, as you mentioned. With this years list, I now see that sticking with FEH seems likely manageable, while my pulls on another gacha game was horrendous compared to other users, which made me drop that game from any serious focus, as to not be disappointed and just laugh at it for being a garbage gaming experience.

I only went so hard on that banner since both Azura and Summer Camilla were blue, but of course pretty much all I got were Fjorms instead. Kind of insult to injury that she left the Askr bonus rotation shortly after that as well.

Luckily I stopped spending money at the end of last year, since I realized it's not like spending never seemed to work for me either, but the sunken cost still remains from it. If I wasn't so invested after two and a half years I'd probably treat things as you did with that other game, but it's hard to shake I suppose. I've at least dialed back how much attention I give to the game, but I'll have to see if things do indeed manage to turn around soon since I'm running out of steam like this. I was hoping 3H would pull my interest away from FEH but sadly that didn't happen, so I'm still on this gacha rollercoaster. I hope your luck continues to go well, since I sure wouldn't wish the luck I've been having on anyone.

  17. 2 hours ago, MonkeyCheez3K said:

Yes, that sounds pretty rough, sorry to hear. It's a shame I can only wish you better luck and recover like I did. I know I'd be pissed at those expenses with nothing to show for.

I just made a quick count of my aimed-at summons. Out of the 103, 18 were aimed for, the rest came along randomly. And while a significant portion of it became useful somehow, contributing to me not being disheartened, it's still interesting how few were actively sought after while pulling. Luckily, fodder exists and AA can always use more counters for some seasons. Regardless, I can imagine some of the pain you're experiencing. Heck, I am on the same boat of not giving a damn about AR anymore where Id trade ranks for better pulls. I meander somewhere in the top 5k most of the time and haven't changed my defense in ages, don't care about aether on stupid maps with stupid, unbalanced units, and don't even bother using escape ladders half the time I probably should when losing a unit.

In short, FEH, gimme 4 more Myrrhs (and some Fortify Fliers fodder), keep the random summons if you want, and I'll be happy, thank you.

Maybe I should have realized this wasn't going to be a good year when it started with spending 700 orbs on Azura's legendary banner for a -atk Azura and 5 Fjorm pity breakers(I hit 13% three times that banner, all ending with single Fjorm pulls). Then 400 orbs for a Libra pity breaker and -spd Bath Hinoka in the first month.. I might have quit then and there if I knew things would keep going that way for the next 9 months.

I mainly like collecting as well, but without the good pulls AR is what's been left to focus on. I stay top 1k most weeks even with just 1 Naga for Astra, but I'd definitely trade it all for better summons. The paltry amount of extra grails isn't much payoff for that effort.

I have been f2p this year but I spent quite a bit of money the previous 2 years, not that my barracks really reflects that. (usually spending would be like 2-3 $40 orb packs just to get a one-off -spd of a seasonal and and a couple pity breakers). I'd be curious what my pull record would look like from before if I could count out what took money. Maybe the luck's always been this bad and I didn't realize it before. That money spent definitely contributes to some sunken cost feelings that keep me playing.

I've always been quite lucky with the quantity, which is the main reason why I started counting this year, to see how far my luck goes. Qualitywise I wanted to make a comparison to last year, because of the aforementioned bad luck in a 6-monthish period (last year is where I felt like you now. It was horrible and I almost quit for being so disappointed with my pulls). I definitely beat that, not a very hard task, but will also be looking closely at the list at the end of the year for a final assessment while also posting my pulls in detail here.

If you have truly half of what I got with F2P orbs, then it seems that you are indeed quite unlucky with the numbers (or me ridiculously lucky, or both), however, maybe your quality is good? As in, you get what you want when you aim for it? That's something I suck at, I can't even pull a freaking Caeda anymore. Regardless, I know how it feels and I truly despise gacha (will never start another one in my life) and if I weren't at a point where almost nothing mattered anymore beyond collecting for the heck of it and bias (colosseum and AR are covered) then I would have quit long ago as I don't want to "keep up" with atrocious gacha systems.

Unfortunately the quality hasn't been good either. I missed the vast majority of the units I wanted this year and most of what I did get is -atk/-spd. Out of the 51 units I've pulled only about 20 are new units from 2019, the rest just pity breakers like Sword Rein and Brave Hector. Legendaries also fared no better than the regular banners, like last week failing to get legendary Ryoma again with 350 orbs. (just got 2 Ikes and a Tiki, my least wanted things on the banner) Not much luck with 3-4* stuff either. I've really needed some basic Fury and WoM fodder and the 1 Hinata and Cain I got while going for Ryoma were the first I've seen since June.

I had hopes of trying to +10 a 5* exclusive this year, but that dream was squashed when over the summer it took 500 orbs to get 1 copy of Naga for AR(obviously gave up trying for a second), 250 orbs for a -atk Summer Laegjarn, 250 orbs to not get Tibarn from the August hero fest and 400 orbs to get 1 merge for Brave Camilla(-spd) and 2 pity breakers. I've considered quitting a few times but keeping hoping things will turn around, but that has not been the case. Only thing going well is AR rankings, but I'd gladly trade my competitive AR throne streak for better gacha luck.

103 this year? Man, tell me where you're finding the luck for those pulls, I'm feeling pretty devastated with the gacha this year. I went and counted my own and I've only gotten 51. I can't seem to get anything in a reasonable amount of orbs anymore.

As with AR during its inception, this mode has huge potential of being really fun and a great addition to the game. I'm just afraid they might turn it into trash - again, like AR - if they decide to make weird decisions. Right now, it's the most fun I had with the game since.... quite some time ago. The stamina system bugs me (I want to continue playing all the time, but can't), so I hope they will improve on the mode in the future.

Please, IS, don't screw it up.

Same. I was immediately reminded of how much I enjoyed AR at its very beginning. Back when making your own map was a really cool new thing, cancer defense setups, powercreep, mythics and now duos hadn't all sucked the fun out of it. This mode's great and my only complaint is wanting more stamina to play it(and maybe make it longer at the same time, since I'm already done besides 1 final map).

  21. I got close to the last map in one go, but I stalled out a couple before it. My Alm is basically a deadweight still at lvl 22 and Celica is doing pretty bad, so it was all on if Sturdy Impact Mae + Reposition buddy Boey could duo the maps and they got overwhelmed finally. I'll have to stop and level up the others a bit this week before trying those again.

Very fun mode though. Funny that basically taking the training tower and adding some skill inherit RNG to it is the most fun new mode we've gotten in ages. I really like it so far, just wish I had a bit more stamina to play with.

Flowers are scarce on purpose, because pulling a new unit from new banners is 40 flowers.

This. They're not so limited because they're "just meant for your favorites", it's a matter of using flowers as extra incentive to pull new units. If you don't then you're stuck with what drip feed they give out through the different modes.

I'll be interested to see if book 4 units go above 40 or not.
