  1. As the title says, I’m wondering what the best Emblem is for a solo run with Alear. I have a rough idea of what skills I plan to get as well as class — but what emblem would be best overall for survival and damage? I’m thinking Tiki since I have access to the dlc but I’m also eyeing Ike for those stats.
  2. Honestly the changes I’m thinking of are really minute things that I doubt I’d have noticed if they didn’t get shoved in my face because of twitter algorithms. The main example of a change between translations that I keep defaulting to whenever pointing them out is Louis, who in the English version is just a very chill dude who goes “people watching”, nothing odd there right? In Japanese however he specified that he only watches women. He doesn’t seem to have any desire to talk or interact with them — just watch them. It very clearly doesn’t change the story as a whole or anything important but it’s one of the changes I raise an eyebrow at. Another example would be Goldmary and how she talks about having the “gazes of men” on her, and very clearly happy about it, but when translated they removed any mention of it and instead had her do a little song of “wash, rinse, dry, starch, fold…” while doing chores. Again, it’s a meaningless change that doesn’t really do much besides reinforce that Goldmary likes feeling validated. Another example to come to mind with her is in a support with Framme she made comments about her own body and in the localization she instead talks about how Framme was gonna bathe. One last example I recall is Panette having any sign of calling herself a maiden or being womanly for one reason or another, notably in a wake up event, being removed. It’s just odd I heard a lot of little things got axed or changed for being “problematic” but haven’t really seen anything worth being called that besides the romances that shan’t be named with the kids. Which I honestly don’t care about being censored or changed. Actually, maybe I’m a little thankful that it was altered if anything. Like I said other parts just make me raise an eyebrow. Doesn’t matter much at the end of the day when I can just chuckle and have fun with the game. Just wanted to hear what others thought in this neck of the woods. Although I don’t care much about localization here, I will be the basically nobody and say that part of Awakening’s localization upset me in hindsight. Notably, the cheapening of Henry’s character in his supports with Olivia — I won’t go off on my tangent about that though because that’s off topic here.
  3. I’ve sunk a lot of time into this game because I had plenty of free time when it launched, and I enjoyed it. The music, the gameplay, the dialogue and voices, I can’t really find anything to immediately complain about. Now, I’m seeing a lot of chaos on the birdapp, twitter, about translation changes, censoring, and things that were almost completely removed. For the most part I just raise an eyebrow at it but I’m wondering what do those of you who’ve kept up with things think about it?
  4. Well I got my hands on a few Amiibo that can give me 5 tickets a day so I’ll be starting a bunch of relay battles to try to flood it with chances for everyone. Will probably get multiple saves up so I can have them at multiple difficulties too. For now I’ll drop J8T74T, it’s a Mountain Peak battle where I was basically sleeping at the start and then immediately suffered for my hubris. At least it has a ridiculous Alear, lol.
  5. I got a game up in the verdant plains with the ID 34DR46K that I started around chapter 14, I’d say it’s gonna be pretty easy to wrap up even if it’s only two turns in I had a good start.
  6. I feel like this'll be a fairly unpopular one, but Deen. He has little to no character development unlike others, and gives very little insight into who he is but I feel as if it makes him seem more like a jaded mercenary who's seen everything already. Hell, he's kinda edgy and that honestly makes me like him a bit more because he doesn't overdue it but has enough of it to be amusing Also every other Merc on Celica's side got screwed with stats's so he's legitimately the one who carried that entire half of the game Another favorite, or rather duo of favorites would be Berkut and Fernand, I just like those two a fair bit for spoilery reasons As for least favorite... I'd have to say Faye for reasons that have likely been stated by someone else, and the only other character that I disliked was Gray, but he worked his way into my heart eventually.
  7. Thanks for the welcome Emerald, and Zeyphrus isn't that bad, but I tend to go by Zeypherus. It's honestly a minor nitpick I have since I missed a single letter.
  8. Just wanted to start this off by saying hello to anyone who swings by this, I'm rather new to using forums although I've been lurking here since.... Fates came out in Japan I think? Not sure as my memory is horrendous. Anyways I made an account recently and wanted to introduce myself. My name is Chris, I'm 20 years old, likely going to me a psychiatrist or therapist and a amateur writer. My first game was Shadow Dragon and I consider myself a veteran in FE simply because I've beaten every game, side note Thracia is suffering, and I'm actually kinda dying for hype for Echoes. Once again, pleasure to meet y'all. Hope we can be friends. Oh, and as a final tidbit about me I type fast and make typoes because of it and misspelled my moniker I've used as a name here.
  9. I misspelled my moniker. Classy.
