  1. Happy Birthday Jingle Jangle! Birthdays around Christmas time can sometimes get mixed up in the festivities, I hope you have fulfilling celebrations for both!
  2. Shanna won over Hinoka so an extra 500 feathers + I get to keep sticking with Team Shanna for the next round!!!!! Really happy!
  3. Wasn't Genny in an even older game than Lana? hmmmm Also I believe in Team Shanna to prevail over Team Hinoka!!!
  4. Fastest way is to manually grind the Pokémon League using a Lucky Egg and a foreign traded Pokémon. If you were looking for something a little more passive, Poké Pelago is your next best bet - but it will take much, much longer. The final option is acquiring boatloads of Rare Candy by buying it with BP at the Battle Royale building. Not much else you can really do unfortunately.
  5. It is exactly as everyone else has said so far: -Either gendered parent can pass egg moves to the offspring. -You can chain breed to get up to 4 egg moves onto the offspring. The only caveat really is that you can only have 4. If there are more than 4 egg moves between the mother and the father, I think the way the game determines what moves get passed are based on the game's internal ordering of the egg moves. You won't have to worry about this if you only plan on passing 3 or 4 egg moves.
  6. I am very ready to dive into Green and Colorless. Olivia and Azura have designs that appeal more to me than their original designs, and they look like pretty solid units to use in their own right (remember to cut them some slack since they are all dancers). Inigo doesn't look terrible either, but his low Res is a little unfortunate since I was hoping he could tank Reinhardt and Blue mages a little better. Tri Adept + Gronnraven is probably what I would go to first. Shigure unfortunately got a very short stick - he has to compete with other blue mages who can't dance, but do can do offense and buffing way more effectively and since he's not on a flying mount, I'm not that interested in pulling for him. His design is very nice though. Let's hope my Focus pulling luck isn't gone yet. I still need to save up for a potential FE4 banner later in October!
  7. Pokémon Crystal offers alternative methods to obtaining Stones via rematch NPCs who randomly gift you them from time to time. Just another of the many perks Crystal has over the original Gold and Silver versions...
  8. Wonderful. Amazing. Simply spectacular. I don't think there was a single character I was disappointed with on the English dub side - have no idea about Japanese dub. I would compare it to the level of Persona 5 and some dubbed anime, so very professional and pretty seamless. I'm just a little wary that this is going to be a one-off great performance: Echoes' overall cast size is small, which sort of acted as a breeding grounds for fantastic voice acting. The only other game I can see getting the same VA treatment is like Sacred Stones since the cast size is similar. Hopefully we keep full voice acting for future releases - they really set the bar with Echoes'.
  9. Squad I used: Selena 5*+2 (SS) / Delthea / Subaki 4*+10 / Julia It wasn't very hard especially with Julia - one good shot to the head from Naga will end Ninian, which just leaves the rest to be picked off by Delthea and Julia and choked by my two defensive pivots Selena and Subaki.
  10. Here's my thoughts on Alolan Pokémon. I included both new Pokémon and the Alolan formes since I wasn't sure which you were talking about. Keep in mind that I'm considering them as part of the VGC 2017 meta - I am not speaking of their overall application across different metas. I'd also recommend doing a bit more research on Pokémon you're interested in; there are lots of infographics on usage, EV spreads, natures, items, etc. from various sources including Pokémon's Global Link website. Those with a Standout presence: They Appear Sometimes: Never see the Light:
  11. Yup, VGC player here. My last major tournament was at Ft. Wayne Regs and my next will be in December in Memphis. If you're planning on getting back into it, why not go to Hartford Regs coming up here soon? I don't know how far that is for you, but it'll be happening the last weekend of September. Anything you need to talk about team-wise to, such as suggestions for moves and items, even whole teams, I can help you out. Welcome back!
  12. Just pulled Nephenee from the new banner: +Def, -HP. My plan was to pull at least 2 so that I could use one for SI to pass Wrath. Does this nature seem like something I should pour resources into? I am a little apprehensive of investing in the case that a 2nd Nephenee turns out to have a better nature (+Atk/Spd, -HP/Res, for example). But for +Def, I can definitely see some merits as a Bonfire or Ignis user. Plus, her Defense after L+D3 is still an astonishingly high 32 (!!) so I could make her about as good as the two natures I listed as "better". What are some people's thoughts?
  13. I'm pretty satisfied with the units they chose to add first, I think they're all fantastic and recognizable picks to players of Sacred Stones. I am however, slightly disappointed in Seth's kit. The big winner here is probably Amelia, who adds Slaying Axe+ and the Armor March skill as a way to buff Killer Axe users and Armor Emblem. As for me, I've not had much opportunity to stockpile orbs, but I'll be trying for Tana and Innes mostly, especially Innes, seeing as my best archers are Summer Gaius and -Spd Rebecca with their base kits. Here's to hoping their stat spreads complement their skills!
  14. Alm: I wasn't really ever a fan of him before Echoes, but post-Echoes, I can get behind a character like this. He's kind of in this weird middle ground between Ike and Chrom - he starts as a villager but eventually realizes his noble status. His stats are kind of like theirs too - high Attack and Defense with middling Speed and a sword wielder. Overall he's probably on the upper half of male protagonists for me, he's certainly more interesting than Marth. I don't really get the appeal of his Conqueror overclass, though. If I rated him out of 10, he'd be a 7.5/10. Celica: She's a mage and can wield swords, so she's got a good start at being one of my favorite unit types overall. She is associated with Fire magic, which while not my favorite, is still pretty cool and matches her color scheme too. Similar to Alm, I think her overclass is overdoing it and prefer her Princess class look. She has a couple of questionable moments in Echoes that make her seem pretty naive and all, but those moments just remind of Eirika in Sacred Stones so I didn't really mind all that much. Not as good as Alm combat-wise, but still a heavy hitter with acceptable bulk. I'd put her somewhere around 8/10.
  15. I've only played Lunatic difficulty, so that's my perspective. Chapter 10: Unhappy Reunion is stressful, but if you managed to snag Haitaka and/or are smart in how you position and use each of your units (and if Camilla gets a little lucky dodging enemy Ninja debuffs), you can get by just barely without having to reset. The hardest parts of this chapter are Oboro and the Pegasus Knights. Chapter 19: Kitsune Lair is similarly stressful and more thought needs to be put into how you tackle each horde of Kitsune. Their high speed and movement through forest make for a bad combination as they'll likely close in pretty quickly on your units if you try to retreat and have really high avoid in addition to having effective damage on beasts. Chapter 21: Eternal Stairway is another chapter that will test a player's patience. Infinite patterned reinforcements and plenty of golems to outrange and hit your squishier units make getting past each stairstep takes longer and longer. Chapter 23: Possessed. Easily the hardest not including the Endgame - Hinata's squadron is really hard to approach and it's easier to just say screw it and jump the chasm using fliers. The upper part of the wall isn't necessarily hard but like Hinata, is just hard to approach. Chapter 24: Hinoka was probably the most fun chapter in the entire route. I am very content every time Hinoka pops the Dragon Vein to see my own fliers move 12 spaces a turn with infantry or cavalry in tow. Even better is reversing the movement so that infantry moves 9 or more. I just think it's really funny. Also, I take the time to chip Hinoka down so far that she suffers -40 penalties to her Atk and Spd thanks to Silver weapon's side effect. Chapter 25: Ryoma. Specifically, the left side is nasty for those Lunge Automatons with Spy Yumi. Also, the presence of Master Ninja is just annoying in general, especially with Inevitable End in play. The right isn't nearly as bad, and if your Corrin is trained correctly can 1v1 Ryoma and trivialize the whole chapter. Chapter 26: Treason was extremely satisfying for me. It's a culmination that allows the player to show off what kind of party they put together and tests every member. Just ignore the left side with the Faceless and Stoneborn and you're good to go really. Chapter 27 and the Endgame. Cheesing the Endgame with Rescue chaining is really the only way to do no deaths for me. Chapter 27 is pretty simple if you can understand the AI's behavior with the Entrap staves, it's then just a matter of being able to stay alive long enough to get to the boss. Obviously there are more but I think I'll stick with these 8 (9 including Endgame) for now. I think Conquest is very well put together gameplay wise and although the story doesn't make for the best, I can appreciate the twists they took regarding the final boss.
