  1. I think it's more plasauble for  Nemesis just fighting everywhere for thirty years then him just chilling out after going that far obtain power. It's possible he also faught foreign nations, but I doubt that's important part. Either way it's true there were two ancient wars that could have actually centuries between.

    1st Sothis vs Agharta

2nd Seiros vs Agharta pawn Nemesis.

  2. Well of course Thyrsus protection is just mostly irrelevant bonus, +2 range in other hands make Lys nuke where even Fire is Thoron. In Gremory class you are unlikely run out of 3-4 range spells for her unless you want solo.

Well it's not like other unit can't use it, but devil weapon effect is pretty annoying and Lys being able use it without it is definitely rason to get her tier up. Same with Caduceus staff.

  3. You should really decide we're you stand.

Do you want Church of Seiros who is led by someone "who is not quite person"  control everything  humans do...

... Or do you want people be freed from this nebulous shadow ruller Rhea is supposed be? Because you can't have both

Anyway Crest system is something that developed independently on church and its doctrine. As long as crests bearers aren't right down ostracized it would end same way, because power always attract more piwer

  4. Yeah Rhea has Army that doesn't mean she can order sovereign nations around. You are literally saying it's correct purge Church because it doesn't abuse its power evenif we assume it has actually enough power to abuse in first place).

There is also nothing worth to be called scam and ChoS explicitly condemn misuse of crests. It's very core of its doctrine.

  5. Not all nobles. Adrestia family didn't send anyone for three hundred years or so.

Anyway having certain influence doesn't mean Church can orders nobles around. If they did that, THEN you would have reason calling that "pulling strings".

ChoS isn't like Empire forcing its will on others and that's good thing, because humans should rule themselves given Sothis isn't around.

Ok, now here's the thing that I think we're going to be debating until dlc comes out or something.

On the one hand, I CAN'T find any explicit source in game that says Rhea "supports" the nobility. Edelgard claims that's true, but unless someone can point something out that I missed, we just have her word.

The library claims the opposite is true. Now, I don't believe Rhea herself wrote the books in the library, that's a little silly. But it is likely that followers of hers wrote them. So who do we believe?

Edit: a further piece of evidence I've been debating over is her confiscating the lance of Ruin, which should belong to house Gautier. That seems to fall in line with what the books say, though I feel that's a bit off topic.

Rhea returned Spear to house Gautier, so there is that. That said Dimitri noted that it's tradition to give preferential treatment of crests bearer stem from necessity fend of invaders and both crest and Spear were instrumental to it.

So at minimum house Gautier "corruption" has very little to do with church doctrine and there is probably other noble houses in similar situation.

  7. In theory they are using each other. Practically all her action are result of TWSitD indoctrination, well except that part when she try kill them. But they are more or less fine with that as they understimate her.

Anyway back to other part of topic. I can't provide you with exact place without playing it again/rewatching whole thing, which is not something I want do. But Hubert did said he was one that  convinced Eldegard to work with them as he believed they can't get their goal done without borowing their power and she was very against it originally. Once I encounter that part I will put it here.

I don't think this is true, and I don't think there's any evidence for that.

Unless you can provide some in game source that says that, I have to object.

According to the actual facts in the game, Edelgard was working with TWSitD before she came to the monastery, not after.

Hubert literally said so. When he explained to Byleth why they work with them.

And yes both her decision defeat church and unificate Fodlan as well as borrowing TWSitD power were made before she came to monastery. There is no argument about that.

    4) Uh? TWSITD basically engineered her in the first place, mitigated her father's influence, killed the previous King of Farghus, and have been keeping tabs on her all along. It's made clear they have the edge over her in influence and firepower and she's basically their puppet trying to cut loose without getting killed. Arianrhod's fate and Hubert's paralogue both make it clear TWSITD have an absurd edge in technology and magical power and the fact Arundel is clearly one of them (and he's basically running a good chunk of the Empire) means she can't NOT work with them.

Of course she could work without them. She planned have her unification war before she allied with them and she was actually against working with them until Hubert convinced her otherwise. Would she fail without their support? Very likely. Doesn't change it was her choice and TWSitD were later add on.
