  1. She has almost no involvement with internal politic of either country and acted mostly as arbiter. She lied about 10 elites, but that sounds like good idea anyway.
  2. That's not her only goal though and her other goals are significantly less praiseworthy. Anyway saying Rhea and Eldegard are same is inaccurate: default Eldegard is same as Rhea at her worst. That's putting it in right context.
  3. If she was even half as smart as she think she would team With church and use TWSitD as bargaining chop to get what she want. Alas because Theles indoctrinated her too well, she never figured what's wrong with Fodlan.
  4. Well Byleth mother got happily married and Rhea even respected her dying wish. That certainly doesn't sound like she lacked human dignity. We obviously don't know what happened to her ptecedessors, but I find unlikely there were treated that much differently. Also continent being "under her thumb" is gross overstatement. Empire practically divorced itself from her, Western church is practically independent and Eastern doesn't even have standing army. Rhea don't seem to interfere in internal affairs unless she get proper ratification either.
  5. Eldegard is good villain. Micaiah terrible wannabe hero. No wonder Edie is more popular
  6. I am honestly not against narrative she was just their puppet from very start.
  7. Well Eldegards source of information is Theles and it contradict almost everything other routes disclose. Make your own conclusion about it
  8. I think either Church and Edie valid choice, but if you pick later keep in mind that Eldegard mostly knows only what TWSITD told her that they were far from honest.
  9. I don't see why she wouldn't, all her creations that failed seems to be allowed live as they pleased, if she had problem with time she would just rip them instantly after it became clear Sothis can't manifest and start anew. And it's not like it's first case Rhea saved someones live without profit on mind. She might be willing sacrifice Byleth without as much as winking, but she is pretty consistent with her better side otherwise.
  10. Yeah, no. -Religious wars and schisms : Church didn't start any war, at least not in recent century or so - Harsh punishment for non-believers and apostates: Except it doesn't. Church has no problem working with atheist or outsiders. As long as they don't rise armies and kill people -Religious indoctrination masquerading as private school education: It's church school, it's perfectly open about it's doctrine, no mascarade here. -Private religious armies and police forces. In this case, the dominant power of the world to boot: Yeah nothing wrong here. Keeping order is pretty important. -Child soldiers manipulated into participating in religious wars: It's freaking officer academy, students are either here of their free will or send by parents. Noone is manipulated into anything -Justifying atrocities: Yeah Rhea went nuts and commited attrocities, that's has nothing with church policies under normal circumistances. Remove TWSITD and Eldegard is happy, Dimitri is happy, Lysithea is happy and there would be no rebelion and non of atrocities we know about would happen during time game covers.
  11. Again that's same with talented or rich people (or both), but given Hanneman massproduce crests to be used as utility I doubt it would get into MHA territory (though you making it sound like MHA world would be better without quirks altogether by making such comparisson, which is obviously not true. And if you don't like that route Ingrid and Sylvain managed to deal with prejudices and stuff completely peacufully on their own. And no Byleth got crest because his dying mother pleaded Rhea to save him, sure there possibility he will be able house Sothis, but that was never reason.
  12. How everyone having crest would screw them up? I am not arguing Elegards war kickstarted didn't social reforms ANY big change does, but story imply most these would happen regardless. Maybe bit later and maybe it would take longer, but seems like better option anyway. Rhea certainly isn't portraited as "super nice" no matter which route you take, she tried basically destroy Byleth as individual and fabricated history, but being nice and being good-ish are two different thing. No person of authority can afford be super nice and we know from Advice box she often feel preasured by her position to take strong stance even she has doubts about it. Anyway no matter what you think about Rhea she would likely resign and had Byleth succeed her even if war didn't happen.
  13. I don't think it's true. GD is about past Church is about Byleth. They focus on different things Anyway I wouldn't recommend Edie route. It's route filled with lot desinformations that might give you wrong ideas even if it explains why she think going so far is necessary.. I think you should play church and GD before that. Also you get Seteth and Cathrine in curch route automatically as well as Flayn stay with you. So you don't loose much by missing Edie and Hubert.
  14. Crests are not problem though. In same way as money or talent. You don't solve discrimination by removing what make peope different. Hanneman actuall solved this problem by making more crests. If you get Sylvain and Ingrid together they actually solve it simply by being lovey dovey, which I personally think is both slightly better way then plunging continent into war. Mind you Those who dubstep are pretty much behind everything Edie blame crests for in first place. As for Rhea as long as Byleth fused with Sothis, he would take over Rhea duties as Arcibishop as she knows she is loosing sanity due Seiros influence. Or maybe she might do so even without it. It's also untrue she doesn't care about anything but Sothis. In Church route and I believe in some other too she actually give own life in stake to protect students in monastery and church did it's duties as peacekeeper, even if you can complain it could be done better.
  15. Yes that's why I am saying she should start on own turf where is her influence strongest. If you don't have enough time don't waste it on war with people who are not even your enemies.
  16. That's like one more reason to not fighting wars and instead do something productive about corrupted empire and educating future successor
  17. Cathrine, Shamir, Rhea, Sothis, Alois (platonic S), Gilbert (Platonic S), Manuela, Hanneman, Seteth, Flayn, Cyril. I think that should be all.
  18. I want bikini archbishop kicking people dead on my command. Alternatively I want bikini archbishop that turns into big ass white dragon and fry everything with laser beams on my command.
  19. It was you who said Edie has no control over Kronya, remember? You can make only one of two contradicting excuses. Either Kronya can't be negotiated (in which case she is no different than wild animal), or she is reasonable ally, (in which case you can't say she has nothing to do with Edelgard.) Anyway once you pick one we continue in discussion.
  20. It worked relatively well though. I mean you get commoners studying besides nobles like it's noone bussines. Commoners apparently can marry later too. Churce regularly deploy it's knights to protect civilians and they sucessfully managed mediate between Kingdom, Aliance and empire. Most troubles seem stem from individual countries being unable keep order by own power.
  21. I only unlocked cage of hungry lion in middle of sheeps. It's not my fault they got attacked. Well if you really insist I might be indirectly responsible, but because I couldn't know something like that will happen it's practically not my fault!
  22. Well in her support with Hubert she talk about path of blood and how she have to walk all the way on it. In your normal story conversation she talks how even fighting gods is possible and how might come time to turn against own students. Edie certainly isn't very good in hiding her extremism at least not from her teacher.
  23. I mean you know as much as Byleth, well little more then him. He have to decide based on guts so do you (though I don't think he would side with person responsible for his father death, that's bit of red flag) It's not really good story telling reveal everything if you don't tell story by omniscient narrator.
