He's really a boring character, the most "safe" representation of an homosexual man (People tend to be fine with these kind of characters as long they are blatantly stereotypes that confirm their bias that homosexuals are the "other" rather than people like them) He has a straight crush on a dude, so you can sympathize with him but at the same time the game can avoid teh gay from actually happening. Someone like Lukas would have been a much more interesting choice. For all the criticisms people gave Fates, Niles was actually better than this.

The only one I like are Mathilda/Clive (Which actually felt very unique in its own way) and Zeke/Tatiana. Alm/Celica felt like the kind of relationship that would crash as soon they actually talked for a second and realized they are not the same people they were years ago when they meet... for one month. Gray/Clair felt like he just wore the poor girl down. Really, Raven x Lucius? Raven "Go home, I don't need a wife, I have you"? If Soren or Lucius were girls I'm sure a lot of people would suddenly "see it".
