Also, by revive do you mean the 3 command seal revive? That's allowed?

Event challenge quests usually allow CS revives or SQ revives.  It's only exhibition matches for stuff like Nerofest/Gilfest that specifically disallow revive spam.

-- The best parts of the event were the alternative artworks for Marie and Mozart (at least, this is the first time I remember seeing those arts)

They aren't really new, just character art taken from previous anniversary CEs with expressions added.  Mozart's is his formal dress CE from the second anniversary, while Marie's is her festive dress from the fourth anniversary.

Edit:  I do agree that the story was nothing special though.  The start was a bit of a drag, though it did get better by the end, it was never particularly great.  The event mechanics are OKish.  The board game is a worse replacement for a point ladder overall, but the extra skits were kind of fun.

It's a bit annoying that Dice drops are RNG, but that's about the worst part I can think of.

You can buy dice in the shop.  It's technically "wasted" event currency if you do, but it makes clearing the board a lot easier.

Out of curiosity, how do the "Mega-Rerun Events" work? For example, I remember there was an event that ran multiple "Halloween Events" all at once or in a short period.
-- Is it just story based, or is there also an Event Shop to clear out?

The Halloween trilogy you're referring to as a "mega-rerun" was story based only.  There was no shop, though the summoning campaign with it did have the old CEs.  It was more like how events added to Main Interlude work.  So you should be safe to eat CEs after the rerun.

Though they can still decide to do something different.  Nero-fest (and similar lottery events) were only run once, which meant you didn't need to keep CEs, until just before the sixth anniversary, when they suddenly decided to effectively rerun the second Nero-fest.

-- Vlad: He's a cool Servant, it's just a shame he is a bit niche and I have an outfitted Herc for outlasting opponents.

From a strictly gameplay perspective, with Castoria's release Vlad stops being niche and starts being one of the better single-target DPS (one of the best actually, though NP1 hampers his damage just a bit).  That somewhat assumes you can pull Castoria, but since you already have Tamamo and Waver, you could always borrow a support Castoria to run Vlad comps and he'd probably still work fairly well.

CQ took two attempts, the first attempt got owned by the evade buff. And it seems like there's permanent unremovable buffs if you leave people alive too long? I saw a 5 turn NP gauge up on my 1st attempt but didn't see it attempt two, possibly because Nightingale died early attempt 2.
The mechanics feel like you're maybe supposed to do multiple attempts to figure them out, but just killing everyone ASAP seems to circumvent them, so *shrug*.

The unremovable buffs are cast by the kids if you kill Nightingale before them.  Bunyan casts the NP per turn, Medusa casts a Def Up, and Chacha casts a Crit up.  You didn't see the NP per turn on the second attempt because you killed Bunyan before Nightingale.

It's been four and a half years, and we haven't gotten anything new.

And I'm pretty sure the existence of Litrblade is exactly the reason why.

Aside from Defiant skills, the single stat versions of Hone/Fortify 4 give +7, and they've been around since the Nifl/Muspell New Year banner.  They're just not used any more because other C skills are much better at this point.

  8. 13 hours ago, Alexmender said:

I don't know if that's because Gorgon and Ruler Martha hit like wet noodles, or if I managed to stack a lot of Def up with Jeanne + Blessing of Kur.

It's both.  In all of the Big Chance quests, enemy NP damage is severely reduced to make up for the random NP gain on attack that they get.  IIRC, Waver's second is enough by itself to survive NPs during these quests.

    Compared to Waver she has comparable damage buffs but also a bit more NP gauge for the team. (20% * 3 + 30% = 90% versus 30% * 3 + 20% = 110%)

Whatever information you're looking at is incorrect.  Morgan's first skill is not a party charge, it's a self charge.  The only NP she can provide to the party is her targeted 20%.

Edit:  You may have already noticed this.  I didn't realize that the last post was on Friday when I posted.

Well, she's unique in that every other 5* AoE lancer has a Buster NP, IRRC, so being Quick means she gets to take advantage of Skadi. But the 4* pool has a good amount of Quick Lancers so it doesn't really matter all that much in the end.

Really wish she had a bit more refund or a slightly better battery, I haven't done any in game testing, but from looking at her numbers you'll probably need someone else to clear wave 1 (probably Arash) and just brute force refill wave 3 with double Skadi's 2x 50% battery. Well, I guess her 20% battery means you can get away with a non-MLB Kaleidoscope, so that's something.

She has only slightly less looping potential than Achilles.  If you have MLB Scope, they both can tri-loop when using 2004 or Mage MCs, or you can use plugsuit+Waver and any scope.  Both have some capability using certain 50% CEs plus plugsuit+Waver, but only against Casters.  The one loop set up Achilles is capable of that she's not is vs Casters using plugsuit+Waver and Holy Night Supper.

So she's capable, but not particularly outstanding.

The next servant I'm interested in is probably Kingprotea, but I'm not sure if I'll go for her rather than just stashing quartz for Arjuna Alter & a second attempt on Summer Jeanne. (It's a pity the rerun happens less than a month from the Anniversary that turns 10 rolls into 11 rolls, though...)

Maybe, maybe not.  NA anniversary is earlier than JP anniversary, and has been happening before the summer reruns most of the time so far due to the event shuffle around that time.  It's possible NA will get the anniversary and the rolling improvements before the Summer 3 rerun.

  12. The whole 'loss of memories = loss of that instance of a person' is a perfectly valid view.  Romani actually stated that this was how Singularities worked at the start of part 1, and in that aspect Lostbelts and Singularities are similar.

However, there is a difference in how Chaledea's actions within a Singularity or Lostbelt affect the Proper Human History.  In Singularities, people that survive the Singularity are going to still be alive in the Proper Human History, while people that died in the Singularity will die in the Proper Human History (with the cause of death modified).  If Chaldea saves someone from dying during the Singularity, they will live longer in the Proper Human History.  Gilgamesh explained this during Babylonia, and congratulated Chaldea on making a difference for the proper Human History.

In contrast, when Chaldea resolves a Lostbelt, all of its inhabitants completely disappear, regardless of any actions taken by Chaldea.  There is no version of them in the Proper Human History at all.  It doesn't matter how many Chaldea saves during their time in the Lostbelt, they will all die when Chaldea wins, with nothing to show for it, unlike Singularities.  Even if the inhabitants of the Lostbelt have counterparts in the Proper Human History, their survival during the Lostbelt does not affect their survival in the Proper Human History.

Gilgamesh gave Guda/Mash hope when he stated that their actions during a Singularity were not meaningless, and they approached the first Lostbelt with that in mind.  I think learning the difference after having worked hard to save the inhabitants of the Lostbelt like it was a Singularity would be fairly demoralizing.  To make a comparison, it's like making a contract to become a Counter Guardian in order to save more people, and then finding out that all Counter Guardians do is kill people instead.

Double Edit: ...The Crypter is debuffing their own Servant, I think that's a gameplay bug?

It's not, it happens due to story reasons.

    Spoiler

Mash is important to Ophelia, and she casts the debuffs if Sigurd attacks Mash as punishment.

  14. Assuming you're referring to the story lock on the event, that's there mostly so that they can explicitly set events at a particular time in the story, and so that they can refer to events from the main story without spoiling them for players that haven't played the story yet.  It also lets them make the story fights a bit harder, since you can be assumed to have a decently built box, and it provides incentive for people to actually play the main story, rather than just ignoring it.

This is isn't the first time an event has been story locked, and it won't be the last time.  The new Halloween event coming this year will require Lostbelt 2 completion, for example due to focusing on a character introduced during the Lostbelt.

Just out of curiosity, this is if you not count SSR sabers right? yeah must be

Dioscuri (aka Twins) is an SSR.  It's specifically a comparison of ST Arts Sabers, regardless of rarity.

Caesar being 'ranked' is a riff on the fact that Caesar is basically one of the best ST Sabers in general for JP right now, and is extremely accessible, so why bother with any of the Arts Sabers.

Mind, Gilgamesh is AoE. His NP after Strengthening is pretty good, damage wise, but Orion and Artoria should out-damage him, and Orion and Artoria both have defense buffs, unlike Gilgamesh. Moriarty is only comparable to Gilgamesh in terms of damage, though, and he doesn't have bulk either. (Orion, Artoria, and Moriarty are the current 5* ST archers.)

Against most Servants (including Gawain), at the same NP level, and with only self-buffs, Enuma Elish does roughly the same damage as Excalibur Vivian, assuming the support Gilgamesh had the interlude done.  Super Effective modifier against most Servants plus the NP damage buff added by the interlude lets Gilgamesh basically do ST damage with an AOE NP, and is the primary reason why he's one of the top Buster pointmen, regardless of whether the quest is AOE or ST.  In this case, Gil should actually out-damage Archuria because he's Sky while Gawain and Archuria are both Earth.

    https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Wc80dpN8-OwH_wf-wrV5zb79d4Smy-WQxkIP1YABPE8/edit#gid=0

If you can support him, Gil should be fine, but if you don't have support, then Archuria/Orion are better for the reasons you mentioned.

Oboro has, imo, the best outfit here (must be that I'm bored of the usual wedding dresses that these banners bring). She has good fodder, although nothing really crazy. The conditional guard effect +stats on the weapon can come in handy but I think it pales in comparison to the normal Guard weapons.

That's not Guard.  It's half of a Breath effect, with no phase restriction (as long as Oboro has a bonus).  Oboro gains extra charge when the enemy hits her.

I think they could just skip the human. All the TMS unit sprites so far leave out the Mirages, only including them in the artwork, so I think it is possible for them to release the Mirages but skip the human.

Sprites for the Mirages show up during Special animations in battle.  For some reason, this isn't shown in the archives, so you'll only ever see those sprites if you have battle animations on, but they are there.

I know none of you wanna hear me bitching but, I’ve really hit the edge on Fate. It’s to the point where I just get my login bonus and quit. I haven’t gotten any new characters in 5 events and missed 3 out of 4 of the characters I wanted more than anything. I play for fun and do enjoy the gameplay but it really feels like the game is just hating me right now. Any support or suggestions?

If that's the case, you're probably best just taking a break.  No reason to play if you find it frustrating right now.

In JP news, I find it amusing that Dioscuri being added as a Saber means that technically Rowan and Lianna were added to FGO before they were added to FEH.  They have similar designs, and they share VAs.

Oh wow, Anastasia already out. Ugh... not sure if I want to drop the money to NP5 Atalanta Alter right now, but she won't get a rate up after this one, as far as I know.

The current Apocrypha rerun has her on rate-up with the other Apocrypha related 4 stars, and she also had a solo rate-up during 4th anniversary on Anastasia's day for that campaign.

So she's not super common, but she does have a few more by now.  You'll just be waiting a while.

Every collab rerun that gets strengthenings part of me becomes sadder nothing of the sort was done for the Zero rerun.

This is only the second collab rerun that has had strengthening quests as part of it.  Prisma Illya and KnK, didn't have strengthenings with their reruns either, though all 4 of the collabs that have been rerun (including Zero) had an additional new servant added during the rerun, which Apocrypha does not.  The Shiki strengthening quests were part of the celebration for them being released on FGO Arcade, not part of a rerun of their event.

The closest thing to a collab rerun getting strengthening quests before this was CCC rerunning immediately after the tenth set of Strengthening quests finished releasing, as 3 CCC related servants got buffed then.  That wasn't even half of the quests released in that batch, and one of those related Servants was Anderson who isn't even part of the CCC event proper.

Edit:  I guess I'm wrong about this being the first time actually, since CCC rerun had a single Nero strengthening quest.  That's still only one out of 4 reruns prior to this that had a SQ, and Apocrypha rerun still doesn't seem to be adding a new Servant.  It's still odd to complain specifically about collab reruns doing it at this point, given that over half of them didn't so far.

My line of thought was more that since he has Buff Removal resistance, that means you can’t use skills and NPs that remove buffs against him, which would make you have to rely on ignore invincible to deal damage to him. But thinking more about it the buff removal resistance isn’t really that much of an issue.

JSND specifically hates buff removal resistance because it makes skills look like they do more than they actually do, and they're concerned that DW will add it to skills and give them a higher CD than normal because 'it does more stuff' (though that doesn't seem to have happened with Odysseus, now that we've seen the numbers).  It's specifically a concern about player summoned units having a 'junk rare' skill effect potentially making the skill weaker, not when fighting them as bosses.

A while back in the thread we had a discussion about this, when Medea Lily got her strengthening and it tacked buff removal resistance on to her Ephemeral Romance skill.

  23. 53 minutes ago, Water Mage said:

Do you mean Odysseus as a boss? With his NP removing defensive buff, being literally immune to charm beating even KH at that and a taunt that targets both of his teammates he’s going to be a nightmare. Does anyone else get the feeling he’s going to be a boss in the next Gilfest?

No, it's probably because buff removal resistance is a junk effect.

@JSND Alter Dragon BonerAt least the for player control, the buff removal resist doesn't seem to affect the skill itself.  Even when you ignore that part, it's still a better Eye of the Mind(True) (Invincibility instead of evade, and 30% Def for 3 turns instead of 20%, plus the CD is 5 turns instead of 6).  Unlike Maou Nobu's second.
