  1. To add on to what MrSmokestack said, if you haven't found the repeatable raid quests, you need to progress the story until you catch up with everyone else. You won't really be able to grind the DP ladder until you're caught up.
  2. Since DQ now has a character, I don't have any specific interest in any given character or series now. Sanger Zonvolt from SRW would be an interesting pick though. Possibly a bit off the wall for most westerners though, combined with the fact that he's another 'anime swordsman'.
  3. Cleo's not really overlooked so much as just relatively unpopular, part of which may be due to her being Caesar's waifu. She's a solid AOE Buster Assassin, and she'll get a buff in the future that makes her NP inflict buff block. She has a better overall kit than Shuten, and obviously works better with Merlin due to being Buster instead of Arts. For the rest of the your comments, she's illustrated by the Danganronpa artist, like Monte Cristo is, and she's voiced by Kugimiya Rie, who also voices Oda Nobunaga for FGO, and Beatrice Flowerchild in Primsa Illya. Kugimiya's voice for Cleo is actually a lower pitch than her usual voice work.
  4. DQ content is pretty hype for me, as its one of the few franchises left that I thought 'deserved' a character, and I was somewhat disappointed that FF got into Smash first. DQ menus in the middle of a real time fight seem a bit awkward, but I'll reserve full judgement until I've actually played them. Banjo-Kazooie is whatever. Never had an interest in playing their games, so it holds no nostalgia value for me. As a fighter they look OK.
  5. NA livestream announced for the 17th, probably going to announce Agartha. If we're lucky they'll also include anniversary stuff, but I'm not hopeful.
  6. Saizo's base effect is the same as a refined Smoke Dagger+. His refine is a bonus to his stats equal to the penalty on his opponent's stats (i.e. if the opponent has -4 Atk and -4 Spd, Saizo gets +4 Atk and +4 Spd). Oscar has a slaying lance, with a refine of Drive Atk/Spd for infantry and cavalry, and +3 Atk/+3 Spd if he's in 2 squares of an infantry or cavalry ally. 7. By this logic, green Olwen, Fallen Tiki and Fallen Corrin shouldn't exist. These units have as much differentiation from their base units as Severa and Inigo have from Selena and Laslow. IS has already proven they have no issue putting in alternate versions of characters from different points of their lives that have little differentiation from the base unit, nor do they have any issue messing with weapon loadouts. Severa/Inigo could perfectly well end up as Axe infantry just like Raven did.
  8. Ah, your math was for focus rate per focus hero. I misunderstood the numbers.
  9. Didn't the channel have a note that regular 5* summon rate for these banners was 2%? So it should be 4/2 for the revivals, not 4/3.
  10. Because the writers and character designers are huge dorks that like to have fun by cramming shout-outs into their joke characters. Brave Liz mashes together DQ, Ys, and Combattler V (two of those are fantasy RPGs and the last is a mecha series). Nobu has explicitly been described as fighting like Tomoe Mami from Madoka (not in FGO, but somewhere in the GudaGuda comics IIRC). Okita is a bunch of references to Ruroni Kenshin. Normal servants aren't really immune to this either, though it's usually more subtle, like Sigurd mentioning Fafnir was white with blue eyes, or various servant animations being based off of Gundam or SRW. Unless you're Rider Kintoki, who is basically a Kamen Rider and is all but called that in his profile, to the point that his intro during the Temple of Time was literally a Kamen Rider transformation.
  11. Her first skill has always been an Infinity Gauntlet reference, its name is Infinity Bean Paste (or Infinity Chocolate during Valentines, or Infinity Chestnut Paste after her strengthening now), and her profile states that it is made of 6 fundamental forces, she just doesn't know how to properly use it. This just memes it further. MHX is mostly a Star Wars reference, but they threw an SAO reference in there for her NP (likely because BUNBUN is the artist). MHXA is Star Wars + Avengers. MHXX is mostly SRW I think apparently a bunch of tokusatsu references, though her first form seems to reference Angel Notes, I guess?
  12. Not sure how they'll handle it, since the developers are different, and we don't know if the changes in FGO come from dev side or publisher side. If the altered schedules for FGO are because of DW trying to avoid creating more work instead of being mandated by Aniplex, we don't know if f4samurai will act the same. Of course, if it's all on Aniplex's side it'd probably be handled the same, but overall localization is a black box that makes it difficult to tell who makes the decisions from the outside (though some decisions are obviously from Aniplex USA).
  13. NA release date has been confirmed as 6/25/2019: Now to wait and see if we end up with the endless delays that JP got. /s
  14. Onigashima is either going to start this week or next week. I doubt it will start any later than next week, because that might be pushing Agartha too close to the anniversary (Onigashima is two weeks, and Agartha releases when Onigashima ends).
  15. A bit slow, but I'm now done with both the ladder and the shop. Technically I still have pieces, monuments and the CE copies in the shop, but I have lots of pieces and monuments already, and 3 MLB copies of Shana-O, so I don't really think I need them. Going to just mess around with various servants in the 3BP fight to keep contribute to the raids, farm a bit of QP from gourds, and hopefully get some Carp drops to get a third MLB.
  16. @JSND Alter Dragon Boner I can see where you're coming from now, though I still think there plenty of lore design for Miyu's skillset working the way it does, as she was an established character before FGO. For comparison, Yu (and a lot of FGO exclusives) is sort of a chicken/egg situation where they could have designed her first then figured out a lore justification, or written the lore then figured out how to match it to skills, and we don't really know which one (at least I think Yu's body reconstruction is unique to her, I'm not too familiar with True Ancestor lore). I will point out that you mixed up Miyu's skills and her NP. Wish of the Child of God is her third skill, with the targeted NP charge and a Buff Success up chance. Maiden's Willpower is her second, with guts and debuff immunity. Her NP is Wish Upon a Star, which is the mini-Garden of Avalon, and still has a lore justification for being a self buff instead of a party buff: her ability to provide mana as a Grail requires her to be present. Once Shirou's wish made her leave the Miyuverse Earth, she could no longer provide mana to him, which left him unable to use UBW. So it matches her lore fairly well that you don't get the benefit from her NP when she leaves the field.
  17. You're going to have to explain better how Miyu is a gameplay oriented design. I'm not just going lolore because she's bad, I can see lore justification for almost her entire skillset. Her NP has a demerit because it's her acting as a Grail, and acting as a Grail literally kills her. If she grants too many wishes she will die. Her Cheerful Mystic Code is an Arts and crit damage buff because Miyu is a technical fighter, compared with Illya's brute force approach, and technique is generally considered Arts. Her Maiden's Willpower has a guts because she's gotten up and continued fighting stuff that should have literally killed her (Fragrarch, at the very least, though that was partly due to how Bellerophon works). Not too sure about the debuff immunity though. Her Wish of the Child of God is how she supplied mana to Shirou during the Miyuverse grail war. The second part lets her support her best friend Illya (though that's not really a major lore thing, and at least Miyu's works for more than Illya, unlike Kuro's). She has Unlimited Prana Supply for the same reason Illya does, the Kaleido sticks provide unlimited mana to their users. Maybe there's something in there that I'm missing, but I don't see how her design is primarily gameplay oriented. Edit: The only gameplay synergy I see in her kit is that her Arts buff, NP, and maybe her third skill (if she uses it on her self) enable her to use her NP relatively quickly, but that seems rather weak for a servant you claim is a heavy gameplay design.
  18. I think a lot of people were 'OMG Miyu!!!!' without really considering how she worked at the time, and what I know of Youtubers in general is that they tend to be hype first a lot of the time (not that I really follow any). I remember there was criticism of the demerit on her NP on Reddit, and Rabbit's review of her on Gamefaqs was relatively critical.
  19. Strictly from a design standpoint, there's no question which is worse. Miyu's kit is more of a mess than Yu's, but I can at least see the reasoning for most of Miyu's skills (to a degree) based on what she accomplished in Prillya. Yu looks like she was intentionally designed to be bad, which makes me feel more 'WTF were they thinking' than Miyu's kit does. Assuming you're referring to Miyu, I like Miyu as a character and plan try for NP5 when she hits NA regardless. But she's objectively not a well designed Servant in FGO.
  20. Miyu's main design problem is that she follows Prillya lore too closely, to the detriment of her gameplay. Consort Yu seems like more of a standard badly designed servant, since she's new to FGO.
  21. It depends on whether you want to rush the DP ladder, or wait for a day that has mats/gems you want to farm.
  22. I'm probably just going to run Ishtar, Merlin, and Waver as my team for Rashomon with w/e support caster I find that has MLB Carp. Didn't really have much trouble the first time around, but I'm feeling lazy anyways. I'll swap Ishtar for Mordred on Lancer day, though I should probably spend some apples to finish leveling Mordred first (or just use shop XP when the event hits, since Lancer day isn't for a while). Might change it up a bit if I clear the shop early and nuke with Illya instead when I no longer care about hands.
  23. Without Micaiah, Yune wouldn't be interacting with anyone at all, since Micaiah is the only compatible medium. Micaiah being 'removed' as a character doesn't impact her importance to the plot at that point. By contrast, I think the Crimean civil war doesn't contribute to the overall plot of RD very much. You can't remove Micaiah without seriously affecting the main plotline of RD even after Yune takes over, you can remove the Crimean Civil War (and therefore Elincia's POV chapters) without impacting much. At best, it's another step in getting the entire continent stuck in war, but that point is fulfilled by Crimea getting involved with the war between Begnion/Daein and the Laguz alliance anyways.
  24. The effect goes away after the unit's next action, which means if the unit acts after the status is inflicted, they can be danced. The fact that the unit can't be danced is irrelevant for a ploy inflicted debuff, because the unit will always have an action to get rid of the status. That part of the status will become relevant if/when we get things like and Isolation staff or Isolation smoke, that inflict the status after combat. The text is there to make sure everyone knows exactly how the status works, regardless of when it is inflicted. It's like Special Spiral specifying that it only works on specials that trigger before and during combat, instead of specifying that it doesn't work with Galeforce.
  25. That's future proofing. If/when they add skills that inflict Isolation after combat not being able to be targeted by Dance will matter. Until then just try isolating the dancer instead of the target.
