  1. I didn't realize weapon weight existed for years, so I often found myself wondering why I wouldn't double. Also, I don't often play hard modes because I feel normal is usually better balanced.
  2. Every map is like Conquest chapter 20 but with fog of war every single weapon decreases your stats after using it has an avatar unit that can S support everyone at the same time every female character is like Camilla and Tharja every male character is like Niles where do babies come from? Deeprealms actually forget the first two points, Fire Emblem is a dating simulator now
  3. My reasoning is, when I buy a full priced game ($80 up here in The Great White North) I expect to get a full game. I don't think that's an unreasonable demand, when you buy a book or pay for a movie ticket it's the same idea. What I don't want however, is for a portion of that game's content no matter how minuscule or irreverent to gameplay to be locked behind a paywall. Content that already exists at launch shouldn't cost extra, it should come with the game you literally just bought. You are correct about nobody forcing you to buy them, that much is true. In fact, nobody is forcing anyone to fall for any anti-consumer business practices, doesn't make it any less scummy though. Free to Play games are different story however, and I don't have too much of a problem if they have Micro-Transactions. It's just that you can't be a full priced game and have a Free to Play model which is what the "AAA" games industry tries to do because they want all of your money.
  4. I second this. Panel de Pon is probably tied with Dr. Mario as my favourite puzzle game of all time, however unlike Dr. Mario it hasn't received a proper entry since the Japan only Game Cube version. Also, a Final Fantasy VIII remake would be nice to see. I feel like it's the entry in the series with the most missed potential and a new take on it could help with many of it's problems. SaGa Frontier is another case of: "could be done better if remade", though I'm not really sure if Square Enix is interested in making SaGa games anymore.
  5. I have to go with the original game's cast. It chose the starting classes so well that almost every game since then has copied it.
  6. I only really burn out on a game if I don't like it very much to begin with and that's (usually) not the case with FE. I mean I like a lot of games, so it's not uncommon for me to go through long stretches of time playing games that aren't Fire Emblem but I wouldn't say it's necessarily because I'm burned out on it.
  7. Ultimately, I prefer it to be in relativity good quality as well as complete in box, but it's not a necessity and I will buy used/poorish condition if I have to. Though when it comes to disc games (or DS style carts) original case is a must otherwise they're too difficult to organize.
  8. Both for me. Usually physical when it comes console games because I like having a sort of material collection (even if it isn't that big), though for PC I buy digitally because there isn't really any other viable option at this point.
  9. I don't think NoA particularly cares about religious themes anymore what with priest and Bishop being classes in some western released games.
  10. I am a firm believer that Jugdral's day in the sun will come. All it needs is a remake, and I mean if Gaiden got remade, what reason would they possibly have for neglecting Genealogy of the Holy War (which if I'm not mistaken has more of a following)?
  11. Absolutely not. While I admit Conquest's AI sometimes gets rather crafty with it which is fun, I'm not too crazy about the fact that one aspect of the mechanic completely cancels out the other.
  12. I would love to see a new game in the Soul Blazer series (which, for those who might not know includes: Soul Blazer, Illusion of Gaia, Terranigma), as they were the best action RPGs on the Super Nintendo as far as I'm concerned. Unfortunately, I doubt it will ever happen considering the company that made them went defunct years ago and we haven't even seen virtual console ports of these games. Samurai Shodown should make a comeback too, I find no other fighting game really scratches the same itch as this series for me. I agree with you about Kirby Air Ride and Chu-Chu Rocket as well.
  13. 100% this. Fates' "triangle" was a mess and I hope it was just a one time thing. Though I would like the game's Kinshi Knight class (or something similar) to return because I love the idea of a flier/archer.
  14. Here is the one I made: Explanations to come later maybe?
  15. Wow, I'm honestly surprised that terminology like that was used so early on in the series, I thought fans wouldn't come up with something like that at least until the internet. I wonder if the word has a literal translation?
  16. This is something I see with some frequency in the series. In the past I have referred to it as the "Cross Knights Attack" after Eldigan's crew from Genealogy of the Holy War, but does the fanbase have a more accepted term for this occurrence that I'm unaware of?
  17. For my first few playthroughs it was because it is a game I consider it to be hard but fair. I would repeatedly die against a certain boss or obstacle but would always try again because I felt like I might be able to beat it next time. After awhile though, I could just breeze through the entire thing relatively quickly given how familiar I had become with it, even reaching the point where I could beat it on one life. There was something immensely satisfying about this for me as I had never really reached that point with a game, so I would just keep on playing Castlevania and enjoyed myself every time. I can't say for sure if anyone else would have this sort of reaction to this game, but it's what happened with me.
  18. I became basically obsessed with the original Castlevania a few years back after buying it on 3DS Virtual Console. It got to the point where I would play through it at least twice every day, one day I even looped through the game so many times that I maxed out the stage counter at 99. Even now it's still one of my go to games when I'm bored and I don't know what to play.
  19. I really like the SaGa games that I've played (Romancing SaGa, Romancing SaGa 3, and SaGa Frontier), if they count. It's battle system is unlike any other turn-based RPG that I know of, and it was open world before a lot of other games were. Also, Mega Man 4 is my personal favourite in the series.
  20. -always check the enemy's range -always check the enemy's inventory/skills -it is often a good idea to let an enemy attack first so they're weak enough to finish off during the player phase (though not always) -place units on forts or stairs to prevent reinforcements -have fun?
  21. Pants are for the weak, FE1 Marth had the right idea.
  22. I have a few. None of the Fire Emblem ones though because I'm bad at keeping up with when I can or can't preorder things and I haven't been lucky enough to find them otherwise. What I do have is King DeDeDe from the Kirby line, and he is still my absolute favourite.
  23. So far we have seen Queen Elincia as far that goes, though you're introduced to her as princess in an earlier game first, and she's only main lord for a little while. But yeah, I totally agree it would definitely open up new story (or even gameplay) opportunities with a monarch as the protagonist.
  24. If this was real it would reaffirm that Fire Emblem Fates could have all been one game in the first place. (Yes I'm still salty about that)
  25. Hmm. I'm not entirely sure that was their intention. I just had a look through a list of all known Lopto Sect members, and a lot of them do have pointed noses, though I don't think they're necessarily intended to be Jewish stereotypes. Sharp features come across as more harsh and menacing so designs like this are often used in villains. Admittedly, there is a member in the cult named Judah, which might give off a sort of antisemitic implication. Though there is also a Daggon (or Dagon) who was known as a god of Philistines in the Hebrew Bible, and I don't think it would make much sense to include someone with this name in a group of people intended to be a negative allegory towards Judaism. The satanist parallels you've found might be intended (even though as Slumber said, Loptyr doesn't quite work as a Satanic figure), though it wasn't always associated with Judaism in a historical context with groups like The Knights Templar even being accused of dealings with Lucifer.
