  1. Rules: 1. The host of this game reserves the right to edit these rules as necessary. Any changes made to the rules will be announced in the game thread. 2. This game is NOC. Communicate in the game thread only, unless a host specifically tells you otherwise. 3. You may not speak during the night phase unless a host specifically tells you otherwise. 4. You may not speak to dead players. Do not speak to non-players who aren't listed as hosts/IOs. 5. Taking screenshots or quoting outside communications with the host, real or forged, will result in an instant modkill. This applies to Role PMs, night results and any other form of communication. 6. Do not edit your posts. If you somehow slip up with this, contact me immediately and tell me what you changed. 7. If you are modkilled by any fault of your own, you lose. 8. If you attempt to gain an advantage for your faction through your modkill, measures will be taken to prevent this from happening. 9. If you don't post for 24 hours, you will be prodded. After several prods I will attempt to sub you out or modkill you if that isn't possible. Please inform me ahead of time if you are going to be absent. 10. Be civil. If you feel as though things are getting out of hand, please contact me and I will handle the situation if necessary. Mechanics: 1. This game starts on Day 1. 2. Day 1 will last 72 hours, and Day 2 and onward will be 48 hours, while nights last for 24 hours. These may be bent slightly for the sake of host convenience. 3. The player with the most votes at the end of the phase will be lynched. 1/3rd of the votes (rounded up) are required to lynch. 2/3rd of the votes (rounded down) hammers and ends phase early. Ties lead to a No Lynch. 4. No Lynch is a valid vote target. If two day phases end in No Lynch, the game will end in Universal Loss. 5. *YLO will not be announced. 6. You will be informed if you successfully targeted a player, and you will be informed if your action was redirected, and you will learn who your new target was. 7. To vote, use the following format: ##Vote: <USER> and to unvote use ##Unvote. 8. If 1/3 of the the living players ##Vote: Extension during a Day phase other than Day 1, the phase will be extended by 24 hours. This can only be done once. 9. Mafia members can communicate over Discord while they are alive. After they are dead, they cannot contribute to the discussion. 10. This game is cardflip, meaning that when a player dies, all that will be posted in the game thread will be their role, alignment, flavor, and a picture. Setup Information: 1. There are 13 players in this game. All of them are on the playerlist. 2. There are only two alignments in this game, the Town and the Mafia. 3. There are 10 townies. The Town win condition is as follows: "You are aligned with the Town. You win when all members of the Mafia have been eliminated and at least one member of the town remains alive." 4. There are 3 mafia members. The Mafia win condition is as follows: "You are aligned with the Mafia. You win when your faction has achieved parity with the Town or nothing can prevent the same from happening." 5. There is at least one Town Vanilla in the game. 6. The characters for Mafia members have been selected through RNG. Flavor has no bearing on alignment or role. 7. This is not a bastard game. Everything happens for a reason. Players: 1. Bartozio 2. Seyrin 3. Athena_57 4. wienerboy 5. Magnificence Incarnate 6. Toni XY 7. Aldo 8. Banana Spritzee
  2. @Refa nothing’s really stood out to me yet that’s AI between Dusk and Claire; although that may change very quickly since I decided the first thing I was going to do today was go back through everything from the start since the whole game kind of just feels slow and maybe I missed something interesting. So, with that reread in mind: Nuxl’s early posts are really free-flowing, and even if he’s an experienced player my instinct is to say that as scum in a new community for the first time he’d show some level of restraint. His transition into his more serious discussion/gamesolving also feels natural and I’m feeling more confident in my townread here. Ichigo’s question towards Refa looks worse in combination with his later pop-in. Regardless of whether it was a scumread or just wondering why Refa was apologizing, he pretty much ignored everything that came about as a result of Claire asking the same thing with more detail. I also don’t like this post from him: I don't see anyone trying to make some sort of "argument" based on Ichigo's earlier posts and this implies to me that he's only reading through things that pertain to what people think of him. That said, like I said earlier I definitely think this is a different Ichigo from Arctic Mafia. @weinerboy you were saying you had a light townread him based on his tone earlier, what do you think now? I'll also go ahead and notify @Mitsuru Kirijosince they've apparently played together a lot. Claire's tone in roleplaying is really throwing me off when I try to read her. Ignoring that and trying to focus on the content alone, I still don't really see the issue with the nitpicking, regardless of whether Claire acknowledged she was nitpicking or not. I'm gonna try and read the games she linked when I have more time and I don't remember that much about her play in Arctic so I'll looked over that as well. Kind of trying to figure out what Shinori's lack of content means (if it means anything at all), since at one point they straight up said, "I'm not doing anything." My gut instinct's to say that they were looking to see if anyone would jump on them for it, but no one did so @Shinori what do you think of Dusk/Claire/others? @Mitsuru Kirijo I disagree still your your accusation of Dusk defending Refa. I'm pretty sure I mentioned last night that what he said basically amounted to "it's possible Refa forgot about gamestart" which doesn't really give Refa a potential answer imo. @ULTRA PRODIGY NUXL talk to me some more on what Dusk's like as a player. I get a very reactive vibe from his posts towards Claire but it's throwing me off that he took so long after his initial accusation to actually vote her. I'm down to hear @Duskfall98's comments too; this is the kind of thing I'd consider to be "not committing" to a read and this comment: feels off since no one was really townreading Claire for roleplaying. It feels like you just wanted to dissuade people from townreading her pre-emptively, if that makes sense. I'd assume to get reads based on the reaction to the nitpick itself (akin to how she formed an early read on Nuxl with it). You mentioned being willing to do something similar later: So why is it a bad thing when someone else does it? @Flee Fleet! counterpoints to your Nuxl read: town can also post frequently in an effort to interact with people. Do you get the feeling that Nuxl's trying to gain influence/control the thread as opposed to gaining reads on people via interacting? Need to take a look at Fleet's last game here still; will do so upon returning. Irregardless of it I do like the approach Athena is taking with how they're questioning Fleet/pushing them to give more concrete opinions; I think as scum he'd be more likely to just go "this is scum ##vote fleet, thank you next." Welcome to SFMafia @DarthR0xas :D I have the same question (sort of for you) that I did for Fleet: what's the scum motivation for having a high postcount? You explained that it's common for scum to do it on ToS, but what would be the mindset leading to it? Also, what're your thoughts on some of the other more prominent players currently (to memory Claire and myself)? This took longer to type than I anticipated and I have to get ready to head out; but atm I'm looking at Mitsuru/Dusk as a town/scum interaction and have a weaker FoS on Ichigo. ##Unvote ##Vote Duskfall98
  3. I'm about to go to bed because it's nearing 2 AM here and I have a cake to make tomorrow, but @Duskfall98 Let's say Claire is scum and giving loose reads the way you suggested. I still don't get why she'd undermine her own read by calling it a nitpick; since generally when scum throws out loose reads the goal is to see which ones stick. Scum definitely could point out flaws in their own posts the way you suggest, but there's a word (hedging) for when it becomes a recurring thing and it tends to get them lynched. Unless you think Claire was intentionally hedging in her first post or something, which is...actually a valid thought to have I guess? Although I'd've waited for more examples of it.
  4. I don't fully follow what you mean by this. I agree roleplaying affects tone more than content, but what does that have to do with Claire acknowledging she was nitpicking?
  5. I agree with this tbh. I'd also add an issue with this part of Dusk's original post in particular: "seems super nitpicky from mitsurus behalf as he admits himself." I'm having trouble wording it because words are hard and all that but I don't like that he's acknowledging that Claire (ye Claire's Mitsuru btw) acknowledged it was nitpicky and then still FoSing it. If Claire was actually trying to push Refa @Duskfall98 why would they admit they were nitpicking? I don't agree as much on the defending bit considering Dusk was literally just like "it's believable."
  6. I was the host smh I'm asking if weiner's townreading Ichigo because he was less aggressive in his entrance here compared to his early play as scum in Arctic Mafia.
  7. Yeah, I think Mitsuru's was (1) more demanding of a reply from Refa [although we've moved on from the initial post without Refa responding I think Refa could've just shrugged off Ichigo's post as nothing] and (2) does more to foster discussion overall.
  8. Went ahead and looked into this 'cause Wynaut. Ichigo has 3 posts rn and I'm not inclined to read him either way; is there some meta here I should be aware of? I will say that just based on an ISO skim/what I remember of Arctic Mafia he came right out of the gate aggressively pushing whatever stood out. Makes me wonder some on his comment re: Refa, does his meta imply he'd be more aggressive in that post as scum weiner?
  9. The latter; it's possible that Ichigo literally only meant "Why are you apologizing?" as opposed to an actual attempt to pressure, but if he did mean to pressure Refa he could've done a better job at it.
  10. This makes me want to spend the entire game roleplaying as Zahir tbh but he has like eight lines of dialogue overall so  I don't really follow the townlean here; he called out your post as forced and so he's town? I do think, @weinerboy, Nuxl rings lightly as town based on tone alone but not too strongly rn. Do you disagree?
  11. I'm sheeping Dusk's page 2 reads until given reason to not. Judging from Arctic it sometimes happens throughout the game. Sometimes though it's the result of the site showing a user as still watching for a while after they left. @Ichigo and @Mitsuru Kirijo I don't understand the issue with Refa apologizing; is there something AI about it? Since Claire called it NAI in her next post here's a followup: thoughts on Nuxl's response? Tbh I don't feel like Ichigo really tried to "jump on" Refa although I almost wish they did? Claire's post is giving us something to talk about at least and if I were in Refa's position I wouldn't feel especially pressured by Ichigo's one line question. @Flee Fleet! what's scummy about being social?
  12. I was worried I wouldn't be able to catch up after being gone for several hours, so this is a...surprise? Mb @ULTRA PRODIGY NUXL, I'm not sure who here'd I'd consider a good player tbh. Don't mean that as a dig towards anyone, just don't know anyone that well. Refa and Shinori are longtime veterans from what I know though. Marth's imo good but apparently has a tendency to get wagoned early. Makaze's ISO script is here: https://gist.github.com/Makaze/746ac320a61d18eb2a915af990f5ec80 you'll need Tampermonkey in order to use it. Reading pages 2/3 now.
  13. There’s a script Makaze made for ISOs, I can try and find the link for it when I’m not on mobile Speaking of that sort of I’m about to on the move now  I will see you soon again friend I hope
  14. I’m a PS nerd rip I have played with Athena and Refa in games before though and then Ichigo, Marth, Claire (Mitsuru Kirijo), Shinori, and weinerboy were all in Artic Mafia (which I hosted and ended like a week ago). You’re from Smogon with hal and dusk ye?
  15. :eyes: I mean 72 can be good although I get real scared about there being too much to read Idt we’ve talked that much like ever actually, how’re you friend?
  16. Idt there’s a way to like posts on SF ;-; Also smh what kind of phase lengths are you used to
  17. ##Vote: hal “Thy sin will lead thee to death.”
  18. It said "Vanilla" in the color white
  19. @Jester's Gestures has died. They were the Arctic Hare, Vanilla Townie. It is now Day 5. Day 5 will end January 14, 2019, at 3:00 PM EST. With 3 alive, it takes 1 to lynch and 2 to hammer.
  20. I remain lost in the Arctic cold (of mobile), but I discovered something cool during my time here. Well, cool in a rather morbid sense. Baldrick has died. He was Ptarmigan, Vanilla Townie. It is now Day 5. Day 5 will end January 12, 2019, at 9:30 PM. With 5 alive, it takes 2 to lynch and 3 to hammer. An updated playerlist because I’m having OP editing difficulties on mobile: @Kaif @Bartozio @RADicate @Jester's Gestures @BBM
  21. This post will be edited with flavor soon. @SullyMcGully has died. He was The Snowy Owl, Town Tracker. Day 4 will end January 9 at 7:00 PM EST.
  22. weinerboy has been lynched! He was: Adélie Penguin, Mafia Goon It is now Night 3. Players with Night Actions have 24 hours to submit them in their Role PMs. Night 3 ends at 6:30 PM EST on January 7, 2019. Do not speak in the thread unless your role allows you to.
