  1. Are you able to unlock the true ending without Merric, Minerva, Julian, and Sirius?
  2. I noticed this trait in Der Langrisser, where Erwin fights Garret (Ledin, the protagonist of Warsong) if he chose the chaos path during the route split.
  3. I went with Ephraim's Lyon because that portrayal is pretty much the only reason why he is even respected by the fanbase to begin with. Eirika's Lyon is ultimately a lesser clone of Julius. Still, can't say that I am too fond with how FE8 handled it's route split. It dosen't seem to portray Lyon in a consistent fashion at all.
  4. In NM, they are probably interchangeable. In HM, Lugh wins. He has more than enough availability to overshadow Lilina's awful bases. EDIT: Wtf? Why did I post on a thread that is about 5 years ago?
  5. Wait... there is a remake for FE5 coming?
  6. She might not be the worst, but she does have a fair share of problems: Being sword-locked most of the time. While in the beginning, it might not be a bad thing considering how most early game enemies are mostly axe users in Lyn mode, she then struggles later on considering how most of the enemies wield lances, causing Lyn to struggle later on. (I mean, most of the lords have that problem as well though, so counting Lyn out would be deemed as unfair.) It also leads to another problem... Lyn isn't particularly an effective dodge-tank as people might emphasise, while in certain circumstances it might work, it requires enemies to wield axes and because of the weapon triangle disadvantage as enemies would wield more lances, later on, she will end up struggling. While I don't find her strength to be a particular problem, but her low defense growth is particularly troublesome and with the reasons above, this is also another issue. I don't find her promotion very helpful either, as there isn't much of a reason to use bows when magic is a better-ranked weapon against foes.
  7. Honestly, I find the weapon triangle as a whole (considering that I have never played Fates or any of the 3DS games) as a rather bad idea, considering how most of the implementations I have been through that haven't implemented the idea well. You get the GBA games where swords and lances become so overused while your axe wielders lick the dust off the bench. Then there are the DS games, which invert the idea and worsen it, as axes become insanely overpowered while swords end up generally sucking for most of the game. Furthermore, the idea of a magic triangle is also pretty bad as well, but somebody else has covered that in this post.
  8. Take out any unnecessary classes that don't fill any role or function, like swordmasters, berserkers, shamans etc. Give Fighters better skill and better defense/speed. Promote Archers to Rangers instead of Snipers, which are bow users except with horses and possibly with swords as of their promotion.
  9. Well, the first ten chapters of Lyn's story were boring as crap so... Also, most of FE7's story (particularly Eliwood's story) was heavily inspired by Kaga's Tear-Ring Saga.
  10. Well, Fire Emblem 3 and 4 have sold very well in Japan with Mystery of the Emblem selling approximately 600,000 units and Genealogy of the Holy War selling approximately 400,000 units, so this isn't very surprising. Also which sold worse? FE1 and FE11? I heard that FE11 had average sales compared to that of FE9 and 10.
  11. In FE5, 9, 10 and 11, Axe users are generally much more fun to use because of how insanely overpowered there are, with enough speed and defense to assist their high attack and HP along the lack of accuracy issues that plagued them in the GBA games. I had quite the fun of using Barst to crush my opponents units with his high attack and speed in Shadow Dragon as fighters can hit more accurately there.
  12. I kind of also have to add archers as well, they usually don't turn out well for me. I got RNG screwed with Rebecca in FE7 with about 4 attack (but then again, she has a pretty bad strength growth in general) and in FE8, I tried to use Neimi and then I ditched her for better-ranged units like Arthur and Lute. I feel that a better promotion for archers would be rangers, so that they can wield both bows and swords together.
  13. No kidding, and not only do they have sucky speed, but they have awful defense. I thought that fighters were supposed to be beefy. Why are they so bad? Pegasus knights and knights are also ones that rather annoy me at times as well.
  14. Fighters in the GBA games. Just why don't they ever hit?
  15. Marcus is okay, I just don't end up using him so much because I feel that Sain and Kent would make better paladins in the long run. Jeigans are usually only good when the rest of the units suck hard (at least in the beginning), like in FE6 Hard Mode. It is just that when you other units tend to hold for themselves where they usually suck. And then there is FE8 and 9, where pretty much any unit would be serviceable.
