  1. Oh no... Oh no ! My biggest fear has now become a reality... Roy and Lilina, my favorite characters from any FE, are both seasonal units. I was so hoping to see Eliwood/Ninian instead of them, so I wouldn't have to spend the 330+ F2P orbs I've earned the past 2 months. And knowing my bad luck, I might sink into the abysses of colorless hell. There's no way I'm breaking my F2P status... but I can't imagine not getting Roy. AAAAHHHHHHH. Hey, can we take a quick moment to talk about the voice acting performance here ? We've got some QUALITY work : a deeper tone for Eliwood which suits him marvellously, Lilina with the cutest voice ever (Yes, I actually enjoy Kliewer's work with the character. Unpopular oninion stuff... but you can deny the fact that her second take for Lilina is more solid than the first one), Hector is daddy material, Lyn is as great as ever... and Roy, OMG ! Not only Ray Chase managed to match his JPN counterpart, Jun Fukuyama, but he's delivered an even better performance this time ! His "Let's give it to 'em !" and "Let's take this to the next level !" are some dreamy lines, IMO. Ahhh... even his attack grunts have more fire than Jun's. This banner better not be lying to me. 330+ orbs sniping for best boy, and I WILL get him. If I don't... well, guess I'll die.
  2. Best : Marth. He just embodies very well what a Lord should be... and it's hard for me to describe how a proper Lord has to look like/to be like, how to define what makes an amazing Lord. Of course, a Lord should be an inspiring individual, a leader with strong beliefs who can totally fail on occasions (and that's OK. No one has to be perfect, right ?). I see a lot of you guys voted for Ike as the best Lord, and while he is indeed an inspiring leader with stong beliefs, he lacks something... Let's compare Ike with, say, Sigurd, at first sight. When I see Ike, I see nothing more than a mercenary wearing a cape. But when I see Sigurd, I see a noble-looking figure with eyes full of serenity. You got the point, right ? And I could also talk about personalities, but to keep it short, let's say that the way Marth is portrayed in Shadow Dragon is absolutely fantastic. Then again, SD is probably the best localised FE when it comes to the writing style. Oh, and honorable mention to Eliwood too. He doesn't have anything special, but he really feels like a Lord to me. Roy ? Err no. As much as Iove the boy, he isn't that much of an inspiring figure, especially for someone who lacks confidence in himself. Sorry Roy ! You're still my boy, though. Worst : So... I would like to vote Corrin, but no. I shouldn't hate on a character from a game I haven't played just because everyone that has hates on him. This is unfair... even if I despise Fates (and Awakening too, kinda) for being different from what FE used to be. Anyway, I voted Kris for the worst Lord. Is he even one in the first place ? Because oh, he certainly fail to meet each and every requirements to be called so.
  3. Already in game : Marth, Luke, Ninian and Klein. I don't need anyone else. Klein, why don't you come home... Not in game : Due to a sad story of mine regarding the first B-8% banner (still triggered to this day), I've been stacking up 300+ orbs, waiting for Leif or Finn. Not happening anytime soon, unfortunately. And I know very well I couldn't help myself if Intelligent Systems ever announces new Binding Blade heroes, such as Iduun, Sue, Wolt...
  4. Never expected Shadow Dragon to get so many votes this far! And yes, this game's Preparations theme is great... but I went with Echoes's version, especially the Deliverance one. I like how upbeat it is, gets me pumped for the battle ahead. And the second part of this song, which kicks in around 0:20, is ridiculously satisfiying.
  5. Wow, you've got quite a nice Lilina, my friend ! Stat by stat, and from my little experience I would say that... 23 HP is very poor indeed... she needs an angelic robe. Her 23 MGC doesn't surprise me at all. Lilina's a monster. She's most likely to hit her max MGC (30) with some level ups. 15 Skill ? I would say this is above average... which is good obviously. 15 Speed is actually great when talking about Lilina. I'm not too sure about her growth rate in this category (30% I believe ?), but I know that this lady can either turn out amazingly fast, or slooooooooow... . So with 15 Speed, I'm sure you'll double more enemies than you'll get doubled. I won't comment about the Luck stat. Not an expert for this. I think 13 is more than decent. Yeah... 4 DEF. Classic Lilina. Nothing else to say, really. Give her a Dracoshield or two, that'll help. Lilina should be able to tank magical attacks with her 13 Res, which is just fine. I've always been using this character for my Binding Blade runs, and I think your Lilina is definitely above average. Especially knowing she can still Level up 20 times depending on how early you promoted her. Also, she receives crazy boosts when supporting Roy, which makes her even better (Who doesn't love 20-25% Crit. using a basic Fire tome ?).

    Hi !

Hi ! I've been on SF for quite a while now, but never took the time to introduce myself. Guess it was about time, heh ? So... yeah, nice to meet you all. You probably won't see me post a lost, as I'm more of a reader than a writer... and I enjoy spending time reading you guys debating and arguing about what has become my favorite video game series of all time: Fire Emblem. However, you might find me when it comes to the old SNES/GBA games... Or Shadow Dragon... of Echoes. And with that, I'm back to Binding Blade!
  7. Speculations ? I like that. As you can guess, I'm a huge Binding Blade fan (just look at my pfp!) and I hope this game gets a remake soon enough. Now, I know it's very unlikely that FE Switch will be an FE 6 Remake... but I enjoy gathering some "piece of potential hints" that IS has left to us so far. Let me list them : - "No one should be able to unBIND that BLADE" from Jedah, Fire Emblem Echoes. - The Heritors of Arcadia - From Echoes' OST. Arcadia obviously means utopia... but could it be a reference to the place where Humans and Dragons live in harmony in The Binding Blade ? - The Scions' Dance in Purgatory - From Echoes' OST. "Purgatory" = Scouring, right ? You know where I'm going with that (Ok, I admit this one is rather irrelevant) - In Fire Emblem Heroes, the very first Bound Hero Battle was Alm & Celica, to celebrate the recent worldwide release of Echoes and the new banners (if I recall correctly). And what was the second Bound Hero Battle ? Lilina & Cecilia. Lilina & Cecilia ! They could have gone with Marth & Shiida, Eliwood & Ninian / Lyn, Lucina & Chrom... So why would they use Binding Blade characters right off, when many other options were available ? - The 2 protagonist from Fire Emblem Warriors are named Rowan and Lianna, right. Am I the only one who their names are oddly close to Roy and Lilina's ? Then again, this might just be a coincidence. However, I can't help but pointing out EVERYTHING that could tease, in a way, a Binding Blade Remake. I might have forgotten one thing or two, but... er... I'm probably overthinking over such stupid details. Hey, a man can dream !
  8. Alright. I won't really bring new ideas on the table, as you people came up with some strong stuff. Rather, I was thinking of summarize (more or less) everything that have been writing, to discuss whether or not a given idea would be great for a theroritical Binding Blade remake. Let's begin, shall we ? - An earlier promotion for Roy. This should definitely be a thing. BUT, Roy should still promote to Master Lord at the end of Ch. 21(X), because of how epic getring the Binding Blade is after you went through this nightmare. So this means Roy should actually promote twice (and a lot of people seem to be perfectly okay with this). Now, the question is... when would be his first promotion ? I believe the end of Chapter 13 is the most perfect moment : Roy has grown as a competent leader, he's matured, and he's about to lead the whole Etrurian - Lycian allied army ! And Roy wouldn't feel like a deadweight in Chapter 14... ugh.... Not convinced yet ? I have another argument, a strong one, which was actually brought by some of you, guys. -"It's very likely that Roy's mother is Ninian so how about making it so that Roy inherits some of her Ice Dragon powers?" - Armagon. (obviously this also means canon couples being a thing in Elibe). It's implied in FE6 that Roy has some sort of "hidden" power, like the fact that he was "choosen" by his Binding Blade. And there's Sophia, the half-dragon priestess from Arcadia. Confused, are you ? What does Sophia have to do with Roy's early promotion ? Well, let the very game itself show you something interesting : Plus, as a Shaman, Sophia is said to possess some mysterious powers. Now, here's a fantastic opportunity to give her more plot relevance, allowing her to find out about Roy's dragon blood and helping him to unleash its full potential = PROMOTION ! However, I'm not a fan of Roy "transforming" into a dragon. He should just keep his regular form. - "Letting players know the requirements for unlocking the Gaiden chapters in advance". Of course, but they shouldn't make it too obvious. I might sound crazy, but failing to get all the Divine Weapons to eventually meet the bad ending is... actually good ? I mean, it forces you to play Binding Blade again, which is frustrating, but when you finally meet the requirments, you'll experience a fantastic feeling of accomplishment THANKS TO the previous frustration / desbelief. It happened to me... twice... - "Change up the types of missions" - Dandy Druid. I can only think about the end of Ch.8X : Our favorite Boy just obtained the Durandal, only to realise that Ostia is in great danger as Narcian and his Dragons Wyvers appears to silence Roy's resistance for good. And then, Cecilia and Perceval show up to drive off Narcian. They could make a new chapter out of it, a "Protect the throne"-kinda mission, where you'll have to defend Ostia City / Ostia castle for a certain amount of turns, waiting for the Etrurian army to come. - "Re-write support conversations" - Harvey. I agree for some (if not, many). - Unbreakable Legendary Weapons ? NO. And I agree with Tenzen12 on this one. Legendary weapons are supposed to be used WISELY, so they make up for it by being incredibly powerful. Let the Binding Blade only have 20-30 uses, but keep its amazing might. About Fae's Dragonstone, I'd love to use it more than 30 times. 40 to 50 seems about right. - New characters. Some of you were thinking about Blazing Blade heroes, or the characters from Hasha no Tsurugi. I won't lie : I like this idea. But Binding Blade's cast is already HUGE. How could Intelligent Systems make that work ? These additionnal characters couldn't be playable, could they ? - New classes. NO. The only "new" class needed in Binding Blade is Assassins. Nothing else. - Lilina as a second protagonist. YES, YES YES YEEEEEEES. With her own personal weapon ? Er... I'm pretty sure Lilina has her name written on Forblaze, just like Hector inscribed his letter on Armads. - A Prologue / End Game. Yes, please. I've always pictured a prologue taking place in Ostia, with Cecilia teaching to young Roy and Lilina. Would be great to see how Roy dropped magic to focus on sword mastery. - Rebalance the game a bit. - Bring the Turnwheel from Echoes. - Buff archers. I don't want them to be as broken as Echoes', but at least allow them to attack at close range. - Self-defense weapon for Larum / Prince Mil... I-I mean Elphin. - Yahn shoud be the real deal of the end game, not Iduun. Jotari was arguing about how Iduun isn't a Dragon meant to fight, hence why her being weak is fine. Oh, and give Yahn more plot relevance please. And that's pretty much it. Sorry if it was long, I had a lot to say. Anyway, if one of you took the time to read it all, I really appreciate it. Thanks !
  9. Unpopular opinions ? Oh boy... this is interesting. So : - Fire Emblem Shadow Dragon is actually a very solid game. Anyone who wishes to start his own "FE journey" should play this game first, as you get to know what Fire Emblem is about (a challeging RPG with a simple story, plus a fantastic medieval-style writing. And the map desing is pretty cool. And don't forget its incredibly underrated soundtrack). SD may not have proper character development or support convos, but it's got the very basics of what makes a Fire Emblem game... well... an FE game. Speaking of that, we needed a "back to basics" game after Path of Radiance and Radiant Dawn. - Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones is not that great. I find it to be the least memorable of the 3 FE on GBA (maybe because of the game's diffculty). - Fire Emblem: The Binding Blade on the other hand, is the best GBA FE (I'm super biased on this one). Yes, I said it. Again, a fresh "back to basics" following the 2 Jugdral games, with an interesting plot which reminds me of the 5th Gen Pokémon : an idelology conflict. So if you would take the time to see the story through Zephiel's eyes, Roy would be the enemy, the bad boy, the one who opposes us to bring peace on Elibe. So, what if we could lead Bern's army to stop the Lycian invasion ? I'm going a bit too far, am I not ? - FE6 Eliwood > FE7 Eliwood. Don't ask me why, I don't know either (well... I'm probably biased again by the Hasha no Tsurugi manga). - FE6 OST > FE7's. I'm sorry. Blazing Blade got many remixes from Binding Blade (When the Rush Comes, Winning Road, Triumph...) , but I feel like the originals were better. Although I have to say, "Distant Utopia" and "The Kingdom of Bern" sound so good in Blazing Blade. FE7's got some fantastic brand new musics too, but Binding Blade is my game of choice, so... - I like Clive (FE Echoes: SoV) and Wolt (FE: The Binding Blade). Wolt has one of the coolest, yet simple design ever. - Roy is amazing. I certainly won't write an essay on why he's so fantastic, many people already explained it on this very topic I believe. - Lilina is amazing. Who cares about her low defense ? Just make sure she's protected by a tanky unit in front of her, and give her a dracoshield or two ! Who cares about her questionable Speed growth ? It doesn't even matter when you can one-shot enemies with a basic Fire Tome. And don't forget about the crazy bonuses Lilina gets when Roy is standing nearby. Lilina is just a super fun / rewarding unit to use, a charater with such a cute design and adorable personality... and she's Hector's beloved daughter. No wonder why Lilina is my favourite FE character so far. That's all I can think of at the moment. I'd love to have some opinions on other FE, but... I have yet to play the Tellius games (why are they SO EXPENSIVE !?), but also (New) Mystery of the Emblem, Thracia 776. I'm currently stuck at Ch.3 of Genealogy of the Holy War. And I don't want to play neither Awakening nor Fates, especially Fates. I wouldn't want to criticize without even knowing what I'm talking about.
  10. That one class I hate the most, huh ? Well I would say... er... Mercenaries / Heroes. (You won't see that too often). Yes, I know, they are among the best unit you can get, with usually great stats overall and a nice crit ratio. But there's ALWAYS gonna be that one enemy Mercenary unit who'll attack me and get a stupid 2-5% Crit hit early on. Same for Heroes past Mid game. And when you're done with them on the battle map, they'll be waiting for you in the arena to ruin the day. There goes my salt and rage against this class. And last, Myrmidons / Swordmasters are my favorites classes in FE, so I usually bench Mercenaries when I get a swordfighter (and I won't get mad if a myrmidon gets a crit on me... ... well, kinda but... let's move on, shall we ?). Now... I said I usually bench mercenaries and heroes. However, 2 of them are exceptions : Ogma (from Shadow Dragon) and Echidna (from The Binding Blade). Ogma being one of the very few "actually good unit" of SD, and Echidna being a cool / interesting character with a nice design IMO.
