Fates ruined the series. We already had a perfectly acceptable Arthur, but they just had to make another one.

FE13 ruined the series. It would have been the perfect send off, but they just had to keep going.

No Engage sweep, no Leif, mid CYL (Alfonse is kinda nice tho) Beyond that, skill inheritance cap is finally going up. That's a great QoL change alongside being able to see buff effects on a unit. Not sure how to feel about Emblem heroes. It's nice you can use them as an actual unit, and they function as you'd expect an emblem to, but ehhhhh. As for rewards, it's nice that we're getting a free floret seeing as how ascended heroes have gone extinct. I think it's meant to be the same meaning as how you can't use base Marth to merge up Legendary Marth, for example. I could be wrong, though, so we might just have to wait and see. Edit: To clarify, I think it means you can't use Emblem Marth with another Emblem Marth, not that you can't use Emblem Marth with any other version of Marth. My apologies.

Indigo is my favorite color, and oasis is a synonym of my favorite word (paradise), and combining the two makes my username. My current profile pic is of Anri from one of Nyna's Cipher cards.

I did, yeah!... until the last four turned into hyperlinks, but that's fine. This is totally up to you, but it might help to upload your stuff onto something like Imgur first so you can just copy/paste the image without having to upload it directly from your phone or computer (and also have another sort of archive for your stuff, too). I wouldn't worry too much about messing it up. As Bob Ross once said, "We don't make mistakes, just happy little accidents." I would love to get one of those. I usually just use a regular ol' pink eraser and hope for the best, lol.

I'm not all that great at critiquing, so I apologize if I effectively say nothing, lol. I love the intricate detail that you're putting into each of your drawings. Also, I don't know if this is the angle that you're aiming for, but I really like the almost gothic style you've got; I'm a sucker for that. Out of all the pieces you've shown here, the one that stands out the most to me is the lady in the lake. It seems like the most developed as a standalone idea, and I think it could be a really pretty piece if you complete it. Do you have any specific inspirations? What kinds of tools do you use?

Don't worry, the hyper cringe part was a joke. Even if you're proud of something in the moment and then look back on it in the future to be like "ehhhh," that's all part of the growth process. Figure out what you like and don't like about it and see how you can improve from there. I'm looking forward to what you have to share!

I think that's a reasonable conclusion to come to what with all the nukes that have been added to the game, especially when the best strategy to deal with those nukes is to player phase them before they can attack in enemy phase. It reminds of how the best strategy in Pokémon campaigns is often to move first and take out your opponent before they can get a chance to act, thereby eliminating any kind of possibility for counterattack. Even then, I feel that player phase doesn't always work either because the nuke you're trying to attack can tank all of your hits and kill you anyway. That's why units like Winter Edelgard are so oppressive; she can kill you quick (three times over, to boot) and tank everything you throw at her, living long enough to do it again. Or maybe my units are just bad, idk.

I think privacy is an important matter to consider. How much of yourself are you comfortable with putting out there? I don't mean to pose that like it's a scary question, but based on your feelings here, I think you've already got an answer. Besides, all the usernames we use are technically aliases, lol. However, I do also wanna say that there's nothing to be embarrassed about if you're proud of what you've done (unless it's something hyper-cringe, then yeah, definitely be embarrassed), and even if you're under an alias, you can still claim the work you've done as your own as long as you have the proof.

Having the option to customize the avatar is nice, but as someone that usually goes with "the default settings" anyway, I wouldn't necessarily miss it either. However, to echo a sentiment of mine from that similar thread made last month, I see avatars like Byleth and Alear like Link from The Legend of Zelda (pre-BotW) because you can name them (and Epona in Twilight Princess) pretty much whatever you want and the game's text will account for that whenever possible, which still feels so cool because it's like the player leaving their mark on the world of the game. However, since TH, Engage, and BotW/TotK all feature voice acting, they end up making different sacrifices; Byleth and Alear are given titles to be called by while retaining the ability to be named something stupid by the player, and Link is just called Link. I think both approaches work fine enough given the focus on narrative (where applicable), but it ends up making things more impersonal, if that make sense. It's a difficult balance to strike between connecting the player to the game and connecting the character to the world.

Between him and maybe Raydrik, Emperor Arvis, and Sombron, I honestly wouldn't be surprised if Nergal was straight up the last major antagonist added to the game, almost as like the very final boss of Heroes or something. Him or the Fire Dragon, idfk

I don't actually have Game Pass myself, but from what I could find on their FAQ section, you can use it on multiple devices since it's tied to your account and not necessarily the device. However, I think that's only for Ultimate (which you have), so you should be fine. I don't want to lead you astray if I happen to be wrong, though. I would see if you can look into it a little more or ask elsewhere before you jump in just so you can be absolutely sure.

Y'know, theoretically speaking, if Alfonse were to win CYL at some point, wouldn't they be forced to have someone voice him, even if it isn't the original voice actor?

That's exactly who I decided on for my first vote! I'd love to see how she would be implemented in FEH, if at all. Hopefully this'll give her some small chance. If characters like Altina and Elimine are in, Elena certainly has a shot I think.

Glad I could help! And honestly, if you've got a good Branch of Fate to start from, it beats doing the first five chapters again (but that can be done in a little under an hour if you're fast anyway).

A sentiment I've sometimes seen is that, as a parent, you aren't just naming your children, you're naming a potential adult, so that's actually an excellent tip! I think I'll have to keep that in mind.

This post should help answer your question. Basically, the Branch of Fate takes your most recent save file and uses that as a jumping-off point, almost kinda like a mini save file.

As far as using traditional names, I kinda just go with whatever sounds cool or rolls off the tongue. Alternatively, I try to find names that have correlating meanings behind them (when applicable), so the first and last names have some theming to them if it can make sense to do so. Unfortunately, I don't typically make up names since what I write often doesn't cross too far into the territory where made-up names would be commonplace. Although, based on some of the examples you mentioned, made-up names still have some basis in our real language, whether translated from other languages or perhaps languages from the past. Vyse, for instance, sounds (or reads) like vice. That may or may not be indicative of their character, but Vyse still sounds and looks cool regardless. A good example I can think of is Optimus Prime, and it's an easy one; it sounds like "optimal," and given his status as Prime and leader of the Autobots, he's literally the optimal/prime leader. His original name, Orion Pax, is a little harder to figure out, but it has "orion" like the belt in space (indicating he's extraterrestrial; this might be a stretch, but it's what I'm going with), and "pax" means "peace" in Latin, which is what he's ultimately striving for. It's pretty on-the-nose, but for an 80s cartoon about alien robot vehicles, it's ultimately a fitting name either way.
