  1. Promoting to Dancer got Flayn Sword Avo +20, but I have not found any way to obtain the other weapon Avoid skills. Are they able to be learned, and if so how?
  2. Oh boy I've been waiting to do this. This page seems lacking in Blue Lions as well so I'll do what I can to help: Blue Lions Pre-Timeskip Tier List, including some units which have been stolen and all the teachers I could stand because why not: F - Completely Unnecessary D - Mostly Useless C - Usable and Unremarkable B - Impressive A - Incredible A+ - Even More Incredible, but not Broken S - Stupidly Powerful or Broken
  3. And then give every one of them Vantage and Wrath from Hero/Mercenary and Warrior by working up their axes and swords a little more. They'll be unstoppable.

  5. Ooh boy, you got me talking about Felix now. He's so disgusting I love it. I gave him E+ rank bow and he outclassed Ashe. I gave him D rank Reason and he's already on Hanneman's level. The boy literally can't lose when he doesn't have a Battalion. He just dodges and murders and gets constant procs with his Crest because it activates when he's "using a weapon" instead of combat arts or gambits or other options. I like what I'm seeing from Dedue in this thread, since I just kinda let him railroad himself into armored axe. He's not as impressive for me as these others seem to be. Oh, and then there's Catherine, who enters broken. She's got like 25 spd at Lv. 17 and two weapon types that are default brave weapons. Then if she's foolish enough to get caught in enemy sights after brutally demolishing an enemy, she just takes 5 damage less per hit for not having a battalion (and why would you want a battalion on a unit who's designed to quad?). And finally Ferdinand with healing items like the Prayer Ring or Blessed Lance (or both) who demolishes most things because his skill activates at 100% health and is designed to keep him at 100% health. I've been looking to recruit Petra after the mock battle, as well, and I'm glad to see everyone agrees she's incredible.
  6. I don't think any of the crit quotes amount to quite as much disrespect as Dedue taking zero damage and just going "Ineffective."
  7. Oh goodness. Ashe was miserable for me at the beginning, but I insisted on working with him until he was decent. Now he's actually good, if you can believe it. Turns out Shamir straight up bodies him though, so... I have so many questions. How is Felix not overpowered yet? He has the best crest of the bunch, incredible sword and bow skill, and the potential to be a magic user as well. He's literally broken in my playthrough and I just don't get how he could possibly not be disgustingly powerful anywhere. Speaking of disgustingly powerful, Cyril literally gets boosted growth rates he's actually legit broken. And he's good at riding, flying, and most physical weapons, meaning he can be virtually any class on horse- or dragonback. And then, I totally get Sylvain being the weakest of the Blue Lions, since he has to claw out a niche where Dimitri and Dedue are stiff competition either way. But Ingrid? She's boss from the get go. Just utilize her gambits.
  8. 1. So I've seen online that the house leader and their immediate partner are non-recruitable from other houses. With Dimitri and Dedue, as well as Edelgard and Hilbert, this appears to be the case. However, I can recruit Hilda, whom I'm supposedly not able to recruit. Can she not be recruited from Edelgard's route? Or is she just never going to accept my invitation or something? 2. The majority of exclusive classes I've seen described are gender-exclusive. However, Dimitri seems to be the only one capable of becoming a Lord, and Byleth the only one capable of becoming a Dark Mage. Do the other house leaders have exclusive classes, and do any of the students get them? 3. The battles at the beginning of the game seem extremely tailored to the units I begin with. The first two fights are Ashe's adopted father and Sylvain's brother. Judging from C supports, these wouldn't exactly fit with other characters particularly well. So is the start of the game completely different for other routes? Or do you start by fighting Lord Lonato and get told "Oh, he's the adoptive father of some guy you don't know in another class"? 4. The Blue Lions seem to be unreasonably favored as far as crests go. Is the game noticeably different when a majority of your first units don't have crests?
  9. Hi I've decided to reexist. Sure, go 'head. Post away to your heart's content.
  10. Flayn was heavily outclassed by Ingrid as a Pegasus and by Mercedes as a Healer. Chose her so that I could give her a niche. Also her Charm is THROUGH THE ROOF.
  11. Hey there! So, I primarily use Gimp as opposed to PhotoShop, but I think most of this should translate over very well. A few tips: First of all, Hue and Saturation is a great tool, but as I've found, a fairly limited one. It's good for making two slightly different colors match each other, but bad for completely re-texturing. I personally use Colorize, which may have a different name in PhotoShop (if it exists. If not, Gimp is free). Second, you probably thought taking a pre-made sprite and recoloring it would be an easy place to start, and for the most part you would be right; except, you chose white. In general, making things darker is a whole lot easier than making things lighter. In particular, since true black and true white are fairly rarely used in the actual color schemes of sprites, you can generally settle for near approximations (my old L'Arachel sprite ended up mostly light purple, because I couldn't make half the things white). If you want an easier task, try making Masked Lucina Marth have a black and red color scheme. I think you'll find that easier. Alternatively, cut and paste parts of sprites without recoloring for a possibly easier challenge. Lastly, blend! This is by far the most important part of making a sprite look legit. Take a good look at any sprite, any piece. They probably have a black edge and a color inside (for example, my first experience of this was Ryoma's hair: black edge, brown inside). However, it's not an immediate change. The black edge becomes dark brown, then brown, then light brown. You can think of this as adding black in smaller and smaller opacities, if that makes sense. If not, ignore that. But there is always a gradient both between colors and within colors. So if you magic wand -> hue and saturation -> recolor a section, you should take a blending tool and blend from the outside (eg; black border) inward, so that you get that smoothness effect.
  12. Wow. I completely forgot about this thread. Well, I'm back, and I might as well come back swinging with not one, not two, but the FOUR things I was working on when I last was on here. @SoulWeaver may appreciate some of these. Our talks about AQW reminded me of the character designs, and I wanted to test out a method for spritifying the weapons, so I took the liberty of recreating my favorites:
  13. Okay, but keep in mind that I made it back in 2012, so I was... what, 14? This was pre-Minecraft, for crying out loud. My username is epic-ownzeration.
  14. Understand that with AQW, there's no clean sprite resource, so any weapon with transparency will have a hint of whatever background you take a picture of it on. I'm fairly confident the energy daggers would be lost in the pixelization, but the other two could stand a chance, if you're willing to either lose the "glow" or deal with my crude attempts at adding one without background noise. Alternatively, you could pick one of the hundreds of weapons that doesn't glow, and make my job easier, but that's no fun. By the way, while I've got you here, can I just mention how weird it is that there's another person on this fairly small thread, who A) plays AQW, B) knows "This Game" from No Game No Life, and C) enjoys Fire Emblem Heroes? That's three oddly unrelated similarities to me, all on the same person.
  15. Which AQW weapon? Also @GreatKnightEcho did you change your name from MageKnightEcho? If so, I have your old request completed if you still want it. Or you can just keep this one.
