  1. "Yeah, I'm just waiting for the captain to make his decision. We're going to end up in battles somewhere along the way though, so it's all good for me. I'm here for the fights, getting stronger. Can't go home without proving myself, so maybe this whole thing will be what I need. My family--" Whatever Kagi had been about to say was cutoff as their prisoner finally woke up, the cat quickly hiding the stick again. The knight was well composed, clearly remembering Kagi from their fight, to which Kagi responded with a grin and a little wave. "Hello~ I remember you too! You got me good, though your archer friend surprised me." They shifted their position to a squatting crouch, peering down at the woman. "So what's your name? Why'd your group want to kill the princess? I mean, I understand killing the Mad King, but seems like you're just going to throw the country into even worse chaos by taking them all out. A coup in the middle of war time is just a good way to get your armies fighting each other." They hopped off the rock, looking down at the woman and shaking their head. "I mean, I like a fight more than most folks and even I know that."
  2. "The bag. Like, the bag of riches? What we hoped to get from you? Hmm. Guess it's just poor people slang." Kagi sighed as they carried the prisoner, glancing back towards the battle. "Hopefully they get back soon... I don't want to have missed too much." As the rest of the Falcons settled into camp to try and rest for a moment, Kagi was perched on a rock near the center of camp, staring at the unconscious woman in front of them. Reaching out, they poked her cheek with a small stick, hoping to get a reaction. "Come ooooon, wake up. We gotta talk to you about all this stuff." Sheesh, no fighting, now I've got this boring lady to watch. Mrrrrr... Their thoughts were interrupted by Willow, prompting the feline to quickly try and hide the stick behind their back. "Oh! Willow! Hi. Uhm. No, it's fine. The captain told me to watch her, so I'm going to watch. Not much else I can do anyways. I would just get bored and go try and find a fight. Not that we won't have plenty of those in our future thankfully." Willow's next question caused Kagi to pause, looking over at the woman in question. "Mmm, she's... well. She seems sincere. The fact that her knights just attacked her wasn't surprising to her so I think she's telling the truth about it all, though I can't imagine why she wants to go to Bravia. They'll be just as likely to kill her. She'd be better off running to the tribes or the halidom if you ask me." They frowned, shaking their head. "She's strong, to be able to use that weapon, but I don't think she has the stamina to keep up with a long battle. She took one hit and was struggling after. Could be risky to let her fight with us if we need her alive." They turned back to Willow, before adding, almost as an afterthought, "Oh and she's very pretty. Though I guess you can see that too." They grinned before trying to stealthily reach out and poke their prisoner with the stick again. Surely she would wake up soon and be interesting, right?
  3. "The emperor is dead..." Kagi wasn't the brains of this operation. In fact, they had gone most of their life being told how dumb they were. First by their family for their inability to control any type of magic, then by their army superiors, and while it hadn't happened since coming to the Falcons, Kagi was pretty sure their companions had all thought it at least once. Even still, they knew that what their kidnapped, rescued?, princess was saying left their plan in tatters. "There goes the bag... So... well. You want to go to Bravia. You're going to need to talk to the captain about that, not me. I'm just the muscle of the group."
  4. "What, captain, wait, AUGH!" Kagi suddenly found themselves with two 'prisoners', one unconscious at their feet and the other willingly joining in their escape plan. The captain was headed back to battlefield and they were stuck with babysitting duty. "Oh come oooooooon. First they steal the targets from me, now they leave me here away from the fighting, if I had known we weren't going to all run, I would have stayed! I can still fight! Are you listening captain??" They paused, realized they were talking to a dust cloud and turned back to their charges, one of whom was trying to drag the other away. "Wh- wounded? Oh. Huh. Yeah, I guess I am." They looked down at their body and shrugged. The arrow had thankfully only grazed their arm, but the slash from the captured knight's sword was going to hurt once the battle rush wore off. "Hmm..." Walking over to the princess, Kagi reached down, first grabbing the intricate rapier from the knight, before leaning in and helping the princess to carry their prisoner. "You're Princess Jilyn, yeah? Got that name right? You can call me Kagi. What the fuck is going on here? Why are you so eager to throw your lot in with bandits trying to kidnap you? I heard your whole thing but mind giving more detail? I'm a slow learner."
  5. Kagi had been given far too much information to fully understand it at this point. The princess was clearly on their side, especially once one of the knights tried to kill her, but then she started talking about how her father was dead? "Wait, but, if your father is dead..." Who are we going to ransom you to??? Still, they had a job to do, and that was making sure they kept the princess. So when she ran off, Kagi threw one longing look back at the battlefield and then sighed. "Captain, following the princess to not lose her. Mission complete, even if I didn't do much. I'll see you all soon." Kagi to 1-7, escape
  6. "Right then, time to--" Kagi burst out of the woods, ready to swing on the mounted knight between them and the carriage, only to have Rivane ride the man down. "Ok, then, look out magic user, I'm--" Turning to the mage, the cat frowned as they watched him fall, an arrow between his eyes. "Ugh, FINE! Moving to the objective since no one left me any fun." True, there were more enemies to fight, but the captain had been clear. The job was to grab the princess and get out and there were no longer any enemies between their escape and the carriage. With a sigh, Kagi sulked over and threw open the carriage door, pointing their axe at the figure within, a veiled lady in an intricate dress. "Right then. You're coming with me. Don't try and fight, alright? I'm not aiming to hurt you, just get some money out of you." Kagi to 5-8, grab the princess from the cart.
  7. As Rivane, Raz, and Willow considered their options, a large axe suddenly thudded into the ground from a nearby tree, followed by a small figure landing lightly on the ground next to it with a grin. "They actually came? Hahaha, the idiots. They really think the whole country is just under their sway even now? This'll be good." Kagi linked their hands together, stretching them up above their head. "We're goin in then boss, yeah? Can't just let this opportunity slip past us, and all that." Reaching down, they grabbed the axe, swinging it up and onto their shoulders. "You know me, I'm just here to prove my strength. Seems like a pretty good way to prove that by stealing a princess out right from underneath her guards noses. If we earn a pretty penny from it too, even better. What are we waiting for then?"
  8. "Mmm... Captain, I'm moving to help Lt Park. She, needs backup." Iskra debarked from the battleship, where she had briefly returned to resupply, and maneuvered towards the lone mech. "Louise... I hope you can manage this..." Iskra to 20-20
  9. Iskra flinched as she got hit in return. Lucky shot... These stupid weapons have me all shaken. The overload... Need to get used to them though. She took aim again, headache starting to fray at her attention as she released the weapons. Hold still, wire guided cannons Lancer #5
  10. Luce's tail swayed slightly as they listened to Nate talk, taking mental notes as he explained what he knew of the group. Alouette's magical abilities had been confirmed, both in battle and from what Eve had said, so it made sense why she had been picked. There was more there that Luce hoped to learn about at some point, but it was clearly sensitive so they weren't about to start poking around without a plan there. Hmm... perhaps if she comes to my show I can talk with her after... The rest of the group that had been hand picked... well they could potentially talk to Eve about that, see what she knew. Their internal musings were interrupted by Nate calling them out specifically, saying he knew who Luce was. Purple furred ears flicked back briefly, before an innocent smile appeared. "Who I am? I told everyone that yesterday~ A dancer who has been recruited by the church as a liaison for this mission, able to use my job as a cover to find information. Surely that's what you mean?" They tilted their head, looking at Nate, eyes wide and innocent. "As for the rest of that, I'm sure that you were picked for this group for a reason too. Albion seems to do everything they do for a reason. Perhaps it was just you begging, perhaps it was something more. They trusted you enough to let you join though, and that's what matters." The cat stood up, and linked their hands together, raising them up towards the ceiling in a long stretch with a quiet groan. "Mmm, all that fighting left me stiff. I should go find my set up for the performance today. You're more than welcome to come watch if you're interested~ I plan for it to be a good one~" They started to head for the door, their tail gently swaying before brushing up against Nate as Luce passed. "Oh, one more thing! Since Eve so rudely left you behind, if you don't mind me asking, what kind of weapons do you use? Just so I know so I can figure out who is best to hide behind in future battles~"
  11. "Eve's stray, that's me~" Though they had protested the title yesterday, it did amuse them quite a bit and it wouldn't hurt to have people thinking of them in that way. They waltzed into the room, quickly making themselves comfortable on Nathan's bed before staring at him for a long moment, tail twitching, pupils narrowed to tight slits. "Hmmhmmhmm... you seem surprised to be called the second in command. Is there a title other than that you prefer? Or are you just like the rest of us, along for Eve's Wild Ride?~ I was just coming to get to know you a little better and see what all you know about this whole thing~ So many of the group seemed surprised by the mission, I would have thought more of them would have been told up front like I was. Though I suppose if you're asking someone to be the pretty face of a group like this, you have to make sure they know the risk that face is taking... It is a very important part of how I make my money after all~" They smiled, tilting their head to the side as they looked the man over once again, expression much more pleasant and open now. "Still~ I figure Eve must have told you some to get you involved. After all, you didn't seem very surprised when she revealed her Regalia... Just how dangerous did she say this was going to be? I got a lot of 'investigation and not a lot of fighting but given how things went when we weren't even officially on the job, well! You can see why I might be slightly concerned~" Time to see if he bites or if he knows enough to know why I'm asking...
  12. Luce gave one last look in the mirror before snapping their makeup kit shut with a satisfied smile. This would do for the show. The dancer gave a twirl, smiling at the reflection. The travel clothes of yesterday were gone, replaced by wide gauzy pants, just barely not see through, a tight cropped shirt and an intricately woven sheer scarf draped over the cat's arms. The pants and shirt were both a muted gold, contrasting with deep indigo of the scarf, though there were flashes of gold in it as well, where the embroidered stars and moons peeked out of the folds. They had done their makeup to match, deep indigo eye shadow blending into the thick black eyeliner, a muted red lipstick, and rather than blush, a sprinkling of golden freckles scattered across their cheeks and the bridge of their nose. It was certainly enough to grab attention, which was the point of the look. Tail flicking in satisfaction, they strolled out of their room, makeup kit securely tucked into a satchel they brought with them in case there was a need for any touch ups before the show. Wandering down the hall, they spotted Ichika outside Alouette's door, but continued on with a simple smile and wave. It was unlikely the swordswoman was interested in talking to them right now, and they had stirred that pot enough already. Instead, they kept going a bit further and then knocked on another door. "Oh Nate~ I was hoping you might have some time to chat. I would love to get to know our second in command~"
  13. It seemed like, despite being on the front line, the enemy wasn't interested in targeting her just yet. That was good, she could take advantage of that. The enemies were spread out in front of her, leaving an opening for her to try the weapons that she had been slightly dreading. "Focus on them, not on everything else... OK Ion, let's do this. Engaging the remaining tank with the wire-guided cannons." Hopefully this wouldn't backfire. Wire-guided cannons tank 2
  14. This was it. Time to see how a real combat went. 17-15, auto rifle #1
  15. "Oh, I know you can~ You proved that in the fight. I just like to tease Eve, so if I had the excuse, I would take it." Luce turned their attention back to Eve, and the woman sitting next to her, their tail waving slightly. The one they didn't know, Taka, was interesting, especially since she was also a cat. That wasn't the only reason, Luce was intrigued by how serious and quiet she was, especially given how close she seemed to be to Eve. They leaned over, nudging Taka with a grin. "You should try the pancakes too~ If you have a sweet tooth, get the one that's filled with chocolate and strawberries, I bet you'll love it. If you like savory, they had one with chicken and a cheese sauce. Oh, and thank you for your help in the battle today~ It was good to see that Eve had someone to help her out." it seemed like Eve was slowly working her magic and getting everyone on board. It was good to know that they hadn't fully spoiled things with Ichika. They would need to be careful to not make things worse with the group dynamics moving forward. For now though, they could just focus on some different members of the group.
  16. "Mmm... well, I can speak to part of that." Luce raised a hand, looking a little guilty. "That is, not to you being here, but Eve and I met back before Ichika was hired as my bodyguard. By Adam! You probably haven't met Adam yet... He's a nice guy~ He's the one who first told me about this job. I'm a... special consultant? I guess you could say? I don't look like much and that's the point~ Who is going to suspect a dancer of being part of a super important squad for the church? I'm good at getting information because I can perform and then talk to people afterwards, let them buy me drinks, learn all about what they've seen~ A performer always needs to know what city is safe to travel to, where there's been disturbances, all of that. And, well, I was... supposed to help sway Ichika here to being open to join the group. But, well, we're kind of like oil and water personality wise! So that didn't work out so well! Honestly, Adam probably should have just been straightforward with it all... For what it's worth Ichika, from what I've been told, the plan isn't for us to spend too long in any one place. Though that may have changed. I only know so much after all~" The dancer sighed, leaning back in their seat and looking over at Ali. "I can't speak for you though! Seems like you knew Eve already at least, so maybe she's seeeeecretly been keeping tabs on you. Very spooky, you should be worried for sure." They grinned and winked at the mage. "I'll protect you from her if you need it though~"
  17. Cinaed had needed time after everything, time to step back from the furious brink he had been standing on the entire fight. He had hidden away in the room off the main hall he had been in when the fighting had ended, forcing himself to calm down. It was an almost impossible task, his mind combining what he had seen here with what little he knew of Siorel's past, and the fact that this was only one of the Underground's bases. It was all too much. Every time he thought he had himself under control, he would think of something and his anger, and thus his flames, would flare back up again. He finally managed to douse the flames surrounding his body, promising himself that he would remember everything from today and let it spur himself forward to protecting those who could not protect themselves. There would be time for that in the future though. For now, he needed to return to the group, making sure that they were all OK. He headed back, spotting most of the group around the Commander and Alivira, as well as the two new faces that he had encountered earlier. Jeremiah. From what Sari had said when Cin had mentioned his last name, this man could potentially have answers about his family... or he could view Cin as a threat. The dragon hesitated, lingering near the group but not diving into the conversation just yet. He needed to listen, and learn more before he threw himself into the deep end.
  18. Iskra silently followed the others as they pushed forward, the whole situation leaving a nasty feeling in the pit of her stomach. Something didn't feel right about all of this. Hopefully they would get some sort of response from the forces out there that would clarify everything. Iskra to 17-10
  19. "Ooo, I bet this place does pancakes! Wonder if they do the thin ones stuffed with fruit..." While everyone else seemed intent on interrogating Eve, Luce was diving into the menu, seemingly care free. "Oh, they do! They've got a raspberry one even, my favorite~ I'll be having that for sure." Food decided, they looked back up at the rest of the group with a grin, lounging back into their chair. "Oh, don't worry about Eve. She's all sorts of smart, and has her reasons for things. Get some food, I'm sure she'll explain everything so focus on the important things first!" They paused, glancing over at Ichika with a slight wince, realizing their attitude was likely not helping with her. "Ah, that is to say, explanations will come soon enough I'm sure. So we may as well take advantage of the setting and refuel after that fight. We wouldn't want to push ourselves too hard for no reason. Plus, Eve's paying! Free food!" They smiled, hoping they hadn't stumbled too badly again.
  20. Cin heard the sounds of battle and distress behind him, but he had to focus on what was ahead. These magic users were an annoyance and would need to be removed. "Lani, let's keep moving forward. The others have our back." Cin to 9-28, steel gauntlet the monk
  21. Iskra had been laying on her bed, half asleep with a book dangling from her hand when the announcement went out. She shot upright, book fully falling out of her hand as she did, landing without care for the last page she had been on. She sighed, before turning back to the task at hand. She quickly got into her pilot suit, tossing her jacket on over top of it. The suit made her uncomfortable, but it was what she needed to wear. As she was getting ready to leave the room, she got a notification, a message from Miz. She smiled slightly, and then quickly replied. [Thanks. I'll be fine, don't worry about me. Watch a movie or something to help distract you.] Turning back to the door, she took a deep breath. This was it, she was going to have to find out if she could actually manage in a real battle or not. Training was one thing, this was going to be different. She exited her room, and then dashed off, headed towards the the hangar.
  22. Cin stormed forward, the flames swirling around his body flaring up as he did, slowly gathering in his fists. "Whatever fight you wanted, whatever goal you had here, is irrelevant. We are here to raze this place to the ground and you. are. in. our. way." He swung at the bigger man, feeling his fists connect. None of them were going to be allowed to escape, least of all this man. Cin to 7-27, elfire fist steel gauntlet punch Krauser
  23. "Ahh ha... it's not that I don't understand what bodyguard means. I simply, don't like being restrained. A byproduct of my upbringing I suppose you could say. Adam was being overcautious anyways... We hardly encountered any danger until this final bit! Still," They took a step back and gave a sweeping bow. "I apologize for the stress that I caused you. It was not my intention, but simply a clash of my natural habits with your attempts to protect me." They straightened, spying one of the men that had joined them starting to head into the city. "Well! I'll leave you two to discuss specifics~" Luce spun around and started to head after the healer. "Oh! Mikhail! Wait up!"
  24. "So sorry I'm not up for someone flirting in the middle of battle with an organization that stole and tortured my friend." Cin growled as he used the last of his vuln. "You're wasting your time with me anyways, so. I appreciate your help, we need what help we can get, but please focus on the fight not on me." Cin hold and vuln
  25. "I'll be fine. There's too much going on to stop and chat." Cin pushed forward, irritation at this stranger's insistence bubbling up slightly through his anger. He grabbed a vuln, hoping that at least would get her off his back. That handled, he moved forward as Miria and Tanya handled the enemies in front of him. Good. The underground was going to pay. Cin to 5-27, use a vuln
