  1. 18-10, rifle Jav 4 Iskra sighed as the battleship was able to take out the easy target she'd hoped to have, instead leaving her with two options. Stay put and wait for enemies to approach, or jump into the middle of the mess of Javelins and take one of them out. Do your job, after you can hide. She swung her machine around, pushing past Leon to settle in for an easy shot on a badly damaged machine. Incoming units... I should be fine. Should be.

  3. Diya sighed as Lady Celine imposed her requirements on the situation, but overall acquiesced to letting as many of these mercenaries touch the sword as they wanted. It was just like her, especially with her insistence that the dragon be allowed a chance to touch the sword. It was a quick reminder of why she respected the commander so much. Relax Diya. What are they going to do, try and take it out of your hands and run away? You're being over protective because of the toll that it took on Celine to get this back, but the mercenaries are the ones who actually fought for it. They deserve this, Lady Celine is correct. Jesse stepped up, taking Lady Celine's weight after stumbling over not calling her Lady Diya, leaving Diya grateful for both those things as she slowly drew the blade from its place at her side. She held it out, one hand wrapped around the hilt, the other held out flat to allow the blade to rest in her palm. "Here. Do what you all need to do, but I warn you, if something seems to go wrong, I will be pulling it back. We cannot risk anything happening to the blade, or to you. Understand?" Koba looked up at Ren, cheeks flushed in embarrassment, and shook his head. "You don't have to worry. I'll be, fine." Why do you have to be so nice to me? Ugh... He looked back over at the group surrounding the rabbit, Diya he remembered, and Lady Celine, and nodded towards them. "So, once all this is over, you all will be heading back to work, huh? Protecting Hecatia and all that?" And we'll be heading into Islexia. Never thought I would be saying that... "I don't feel any pull towards it either, and my magic isn't broken, so it must not be something everyone feels." Cin looked down at Siorel with a slight frown of worry on his face, considering his next words. Her magic being broken wasn't the only thing that didn't make sense to him, as he remembered the odd scar pattern he had seen before, and he started to open his mouth, before shutting it again. Now wasn't the time or the place to start asking about that. He put the thoughts aside for now, but knew he would have to ask her about it at some point. For now though, he simply contented himself with pulling her in tighter against his side.
  4. Diya quickly found herself placing a protective hand on the hilt of the Escaflowne strapped at her side, while the other arm remained as a support for the Lady Celine. She knew that it would likely be allowed to be touched by at least one or two of these mercenaries, but she couldn't help but be defensive. "Lady Celine, your orders?" The question was quiet, meant for Celine's ears only, though the Evokers would likely hear it as well given their proximity. Ferid's reassurances about the mercenaries still echoed in her mind, but she couldn't help but hesitate. There was too much going on here for her to trust easily. Cin settled back down next to Siorel, cup of coffee having been delivered, and watched the situation unfold curiously. There was a high interest in touching this sword, something he didn't quite understand. Nothing about it seemed overly remarkable to him, though he knew it was a legendary blade. He draped an arm over Siorel's shoulders and sighed. "So do you have some burning desire to go touch that sword or is the coffee enough for right now?" He grinned at her before looking back over at the group. Both Alvira and Gean... Interesting... Koba let out a small sigh of relief as Lady Celine started talking, leaving him free to start to back away. Before he could actually escape, he suddenly found his head getting pat by Ren, as they quickly began teasing him about his abilities as an envoy. He opened his mouth to retort but, to his shame, all the escaped was a mangled croak as his cheeks flushed red from the combination of the teasing and pats. He finally managed to squeak out a "N, no, I'll stick with what I k-now," before darting away to the corner table he had been occupying before. He buried his head in his hands, mentally kicking himself. Stupid. Stupid stupid stupid! Just act like a normal person around them, you idiot. Get through these last few hours without embarrassing yourself any more than you already have and then you'll be free. They'll head back with Lady Celine and you'll head into Islexia, which has to be easier to deal with than this....
  5. "Lady Celine, you have pushed yourself well past what almost anyone would have been able to do in your attempts to fulfill this mission. It is only logical that your body would demand payment once you had your prize in hand." Diya was conveniently ignoring the fact that she had been pushing almost as hard, but she knew she was going to have to pay the price soon enough. Her ears sagged slightly for a second, before she perked back up as Jesse entered the room, forcing herself to stay strong. "We will help you however you need, milady. As for the sword, I was only doing what needed done. If you wasn't it back, just say the word. The other... It is a small token. You deserve more for all that you've done for me." She left it at that, not wanting to dive further into the emotions behind the gift when she was still as tired as she was, and instead set about helping Celine prepare for the meeting. A short while after he had been protesting that he wasn't really an envoy, Koba found himself at the head of a group of knights, heading into the inn. Approaching the Evokers, he sighed to himself. You only have yourself to blame for this. You just had to go and follow Jesse... He cleared his throat, and then announced, "Excuse me, Lady Tio and Elisa, Lady Celine and the knights of the Amaryllis are here to meet with you and Commander Natalya." There. Now he could get away from all of this, right?
  6. Koba's spiral down was quickly halted by Ren's giggle and explanation that they were just teasing him. It was followed by Ren genuinely thanking him for coming to help escort Celine over to the Evokers. "I wa--" He cut himself off, looking at Ren. It wouldn't help to explain that he hadn't really come to escort Celine or on any official orders from Commander Natalya. I really just came to talk with Jesse a little bit and, well. He sighed, shaking his head, a slight blush showing up at the compliments. "It really isn't anything special but I, am glad I can help you all. From what I've heard about Lady Celine, I would love to see her have success in her goals here in Hecatia. I, I am not really confident being around, that is, I'm not really comfortable around nobles, but out of any of them, I guess it's best to be around her. It seems like she's one who could really make things better for Clouded here."
  7. 18-5, autorifle Satyr 3 if still alive Iskra pushed forward, following behind Kazue. She couldn't quite reach as far as the other woman could, so she settled for the target Louise had attacked. Hopefully between the two of them, they would do some damage.
  8. "Ah, Ren, perfect timing. We were just about to head upstairs to check on Lady Celine." It seemed like Ren too knew this avian, and was quite friendly with him, which put Diya's concerns even more to rest. She trusted their judgement just as much as she trusted Jesse's, so between the two of them, she was fine with him being here. "Right then, I'll head inside. Thank you, Ren." A miracle that Lady Celine is actually asking for help... She must be struggling. She needs some proper downtime after all of this. I'll have to talk to Pan, maybe she can steal Lady Celine away, get her some relaxation. A plan in mind for after all of this, Diya headed upstairs, calling out, "Lady Celine? Ren mentioned you might need some help." Back outside, Koba flushed as Ren immediately began asking him if he was behaving. Stupid idea coming here. They don't trust my word and why should they? Barely know me, I should have just stayed back... "Yeah, behaving. Don't worry, I haven't started running around stealing from all the villagers. Give me a little bit of credit, I know I don't deserve much but still..." He couldn't fault the people that knew why he was a Tiger now for making assumptions like this, not with how short of a time frame it had been since he had agreed to turn his life around, but it still stung, especially coming from Ren.
  9. "I, Jesse, we've been over this. I am not a Lady, you do not need to call me that." The words had knocked her off kilter just a little bit, it was strange to be called the same title as Lady Celine, and she didn't want to seem to be presuming a station that she had no right to. She sighed, collecting herself again with a slight look of frustration shot at Jesse, when another of their wayward members showed up. "Mmm, right, with Sophia here and Ren upstairs, that just leaves Syta as missing. I'm going to assume she's with the mercenaries, unless one of you knows otherwise." Sir Ferid is out there somewhere as well... Still, not my concern right now. She looked down at Sophia and nodded. "We were just about to check on Lady Celine, Ren is with her, but she's been asleep long enough that I have to expect she's either awake or close to it now." She looked back down at the small avian man, a slight frown appearing before she sighed and the frown smoothed away into a neutral expression. "Very well. If you're willing to vouch for him, Jesse, he may come along." Koba watched the interactions between the group, slightly intimidated by the tall Clouded in front of him, but it seemed like the end result of the conversation was what he wanted. "Thank you, ma'am. I appreciate it." His hands slipped back into his pockets, one returning to fiddling with the coin hidden there. "I'll take back any response from Lady Celine on when she'll be over to the inn, the Evokers and the Tigers are all still eating, so it's no rush, I mean, obviously we'll wait for Lady Celine, I can just, give a timeline so everyone knows." Time to shut up Koba.
  10. "Silly... You can take a nap if that's what you need. Though at this point I suppose it's really just going back to sleep..." He chuckled as she let go of him, doing her best to sit up and act as if she wasn't a second away from falling asleep. Her request was an easy one, and he stood up with a long stretch and a groan before leaning over and kissing the top of her head. "Of course. Anything for you." He straightened back up and headed over to the food, noting the Commander and Tio heading the same way and giving them both a nod. Koba grumbled under his breath as Jesse laughed at him, knowing that he must have sounded ridiculous with all of this. It's fine. Just a couple more hours and then it'll just be the Tigers you need to worry about. They all seem easier to deal with anyways. "I-it's, you can tell them whatever you want. Why would it bother me what they think?" He crossed him arms in a sulk as Jesse opened the door to the house where the knights had apparently been staying, calling out to those inside. Diya had gotten up earlier than her commander, earlier perhaps than she should have given how little sleep she was running on, but she had things to do and with Lady Celine still asleep, she needed to make sure everything was ready for when she woke up. Ren had been staying with Celine, so she had felt comfortable leaving with the Escaflowne, knowing they would pass the message on if necessary. She had just returned from a quick patrol of the village and had been about to head back up to check on her commander when Jesse returned as well. "Ah, Jesse, good to see you. Ren is upstairs with the Commander, they said they would help make sure she was doing well. I was about to go check on the two of them, see if Lady Celine is awake. You and your... friend? are welcome to join me in heading upstairs, if you wish." She raised a questioning eyebrow at Jesse, wondering about the unfamiliar avian boy almost hiding behind the other Amaryllis member, but figured that if Jesse trusted him, that was good enough for now.
  11. "Mmm, that's fair." He sighed, eating some eggs as he considered her words, worry creeping in slightly. She'd just wanted adventure, but they were already getting heavily involved in things that were way beyond a normal mercenary group's tasks. "I wonder... Mmm, no, never mind." It wasn't worth voicing that thought, it would just get Siorel mad at him. He filled his mouth instead until he could get his thoughts back to a more useful track. Once he finished with that bite, he continued, finally, "All I know is that I'll be there to help you along the way, ok? Even if it continues like this, we'll find a way through it all. I know that much." If it comes to it... I'll get you out safely, get you somewhere you can have that adventure of yours without worrying about what this group is getting embroiled in. Koba trailed after Jesse as she explained what had happened the previous day. She'd explained what the Knights had gone through. He had heard enough about what had happened to the Tigers at least, but it was good to hear that at least most of the Knights had made it through with no issues. "I'm sorry to hear you got hurt, but it's good that you were able to be patched up." He looked away at the mention of the Commander, a slight frown on his face. "Commander... That's Commander Celine, yes? And Lady Diya, I don't think I've heard that name either. Is she a noble who works with the Amaryllis? Maybe... Maybe I should have stayed back at the inn. I'm not exactly the kind of person that should be spending time around nobles." He slowed down slightly, hands buried in his pockets, one fiddling with a small coin. He wanted to run, but he also wanted to see how Ren was doing after the battle. He should have checked in with them the previous night, but he had stopped himself for some reason. Was it worth dealing with nobles to see them? Given this is probably the last time I'll get to see them... Yeah, I should just suck it up and go with Jesse. He sighed, catching up with Jesse, still flipping the coin around in his pocket. "A-anyways, I'll just, come with you, like I planned."
  12. Iskra to 23-5 Iskra frowned as she flipped through the display, seeing what weapons were loaded onto her machine. Two guns, as expected, and then two weapons suited for her newtype skills. An additional stress that she hadn't thought would come into play in the simulation, but that was how things went sometimes. Louise was calling out orders, almost like she was the captain, but Iskra wasn't going to object, it wasn't her place. For now, she would just move forward and wait to see how the enemies were going to move.
  13. "You know, sometimes I think you play up some of this stuff..." Cin grinned at Siorel, shaking his head as he took another bite. "You're smarter than you're saying here, I'm sure if you were involved in the discussion you would understand it all perfectly well. That's not to say you need to be, I can understand not wanting to, but no selling yourself short miss." He reached out and bopped her nose with his piece of toast. "As for dancing and adventure, I'm sure you'll get plenty of that. It just might not be in the way you expected. I did warn you..." Koba shuffled his feet slightly, looking away as Jesse responded. He wasn't sure how to feel about how excited she seemed to have him along. He sighed quietly, and followed after her as she returned her plate, before finally piping up again, "I, know the battle was rough yesterday. I was back making sure the wagons didn't disappear, but... I didn't really see any of you Knights after. Was everyone ok? I heard some of what happened, but not really how everyone was after. No one got seriously injured I hope."
  14. "Heh, feels like you should still be sleeping there, hun." Cin gently stroked her head for a second, before gesturing down to the table. "I got you some food, so you don't need to worry about that. As for battle, we should be safe for today. Maybe you can catch a nap in one of the wagons if you need it." He picked up a piece of toast, munching on it for a few moments, before looking back down at her with a smile. "I'm glad you slept well though. You deserved it after all the effort you put into that fight yesterday. We depend too much on you and your abilities I think." He pulled her into a one armed hug as he continued to eat, looking around the room as he did. "Mmm, no sign of the Knights except for the one... Jesse I think? I doubt we'll leave without consulting with Lady Celine, not after everything that happened yesterday, so you have plenty of time to relax." He sighed contentedly, enjoying the comforting presence of Siorel next to him, idly wishing that more of their days could be like this. Koba sat quietly, eating his food, looking around as he did. He finished his plate, considering seconds briefly, but deciding against it for the moment. Looking around, he noticed Jesse speaking to Tio, and considered his options before sidling alongside her. Looking at her and then Tio, he coughed quietly, and then looked up at Jesse. "Are you going to check on Lady Celine and the others, like Ren? I could come along, if you wanted company." It wasn't like the village was especially large, and there was a part of him that was yelling about interacting with a human like this, but Ren had seemed to like Jesse so much, it had made him consider trying to get to know her a little. Worst case, he could split off and find somewhere to hide for a little, but trying to be a little bit more social, especially with someone who was likely leaving after today, couldn't hurt, right? It might even get him a smile from Ren. Stop thinking like that! They're leaving today, stop thinking about how cute their smile is...
  15. Koba had been up for a while, having spent the early morning wandering around the village. He wasn't looking to steal anything, he wasn't that dumb with Tio actively keeping an eye on him when he was with the group, but it was a habit he couldn't break. He needed to know the ways that he could escape if something went wrong, and that meant knowing the layout of the village. Honestly, that's one benefit to sleeping outdoors... Plenty of ways to get out. His stomach was telling him it was time to head back to the inn though, so he turned back, one hand idly fiddling with a coin, making it appear and disappear as he did. He hadn't been involved in the fight the previous day, but he had heard enough about it to start worrying. So many powerful players and here I am... I have to wonder if Tio just brought me along to my death... Doubt it's on purpose, but I wonder if she even understands how weak I am. I'm just stealthy.... Maybe I should run... Not that I have anywhere to go. He sighed, heading into the inn and quickly spotting the woman of his thoughts as he did, talking to Versarias. He made sure to give both of them a wide berth, heading instead to the food that was available to the group. He quickly filled a plate and settled down at a small table, positioned so that he could easily see everything that was going on in the room. The more he saw of this group, the more he was quickly realizing he was in over his head, but with the situation he had gotten himself into, he had no choice but to see it all through. Cin walked down the stairs of the inn, stifling a slight yawn as he did. The battle the previous day had been rough, and then everything after had just made it worse. Siorel had been exhausted, and he hadn't been much better. They had all made it out alive though, even if he'd been useless when everything had went down with those Lufirians. Walking into the dining room, he spotted Renais with Gean on one side and, curiously, the fox merchant, Mikoto, on the other side. He caught Gean's eyes and raised a questioning eyebrow at the situation, but moved on quickly. If his friends were happy and safe, who was he to do anything? After all, Mikoto's actions yesterday, while they had likely escalated tensions, had also played into the situation ending as well as it had. He still didn't know enough about her beyond her curious and worrying offer for discounted magical items, but he would give her the benefit of the doubt as far as her traveling with the group went for now. He filled up two plates, hoping that Siorel would be down before long, and made his way to an empty table, sitting down with a quiet groan. Everything was escalating so quickly, and he knew that as they headed into Islexia, it would only get more dangerous. I'm going to have to get stronger, quickly. Maybe Sari would help me train... Though, he probably has more important things on his plate than helping me. I'll just have to figure things out on my own. Time to grow up and find a way through on my own.
  16. "Nnngh..." Why won't she just leave me alone? I'm not interesting! Ugh, the headache is coming back, let me out, let me out let me OUT! Just then the elevator door dinged, and Louise sauntered out with one final remark, soon followed by Markus and Leon. Iskra burst out of the elevator after them, almost sprinting to her robot, quickly taking the rope up to the cockpit where she slid into her seat with an audible sigh of relief. "That's, better." She popped her headphones back on, letting the soothing music wash away the headache as best it could as she sunk further into her seat. She had been up here the other day, so she knew the layout well. Suddenly, she sat back up with a frown. She had forgotten to change into her piloting suit in her rush to get up here. Well... It was just a simulation. That wouldn't cause any problems, right? Besides, this way she could avoid Louise's stare. This was for the best, yes. She settled back down into her slouch, waiting for further instructions.
  17. Diya had been paying attention to too many things to notice the cat clouded approaching the Escaflowne until it was too late. She had grabbed the sword as it suddenly glowed, leaving Diya grabbing for her spear, before as quickly as it started, everything was over. She frowned, about to start a lecture on how they should not approach the Lady Celine like that when instead Celine gave her orders. She nodded, swinging herself back onto her horse, and looking down at Ren. "Sir Ferid will need to do that. I will go talk to the villagers so they are aware of what is happening." She nodded to her leader, her mind briefly flashing to the wrapped package in her saddlebag, and then pushed forward. She turned towards the village, heading to inform them of Lady Celine's presence, and that they were soon to have a large gathering of friendly mercenaries and knights looking for shelter.
  18. Somehow, the worst case scenario, one Iskra hadn't even begun to consider happened. Not only did Louise join her, but two more pilots, including the other Newtype piled into the elevator, leaving her trapped in the back as Louise began to talk to her. The music she had been playing hadn't been overly loud; she knew better than to risk her hearing like that, but it meant that she could hear everything Louise was saying, leaving her without an excuse. She looked at the other women, pulling her headphones down with an internal sigh, and half-heartedly nodded. "Mmm, yes. They sent me here after I graduated." She really didn't want to talk about school, if she was being honest. She suspected Louise would either tease or pity her if she admitted how hard it was, being one of the few Newtypes and dealing with people not trusting her for that, either because they doubted her abilities, or because they didn't want her reading their emotions, or whatever, combined with her natural fear, she had very few positive memories from her time there. Maybe she'll forget about it. Find someone more interesting to ask all these questions... It wouldn't do to be rude though, no sense in making things harder than they would be anyways, so she nodded again, this time in response to Esther asking if there was space, as well as in response to Louise's question. "There's, space. Come on in." Unlike so many people in her past, she had few qualms about the powers of a Newtype, largely because she was well aware she wasn't exactly hiding her emotions usually. Esther would have a slightly better read on her than Louise, but what did it matter at that point? Everyone in the elevator would know she was a nervous wreck just by looking at her.
  19. Iskra made her way into the hangar, looking around as she did. On the one side, an elevator that had just been recently used, while on the other, am elevator that was ready to go, but included Louise. Do I wait for the next elevator, risk someone else coming in and all the unknown that brings, or do I go with the danger I know? The emotions she could feel from Louise weren't that strong, muted some by the music in her ears, but they were still there. That curiosity, a desire for something, though... She was interested in the captain, that much was clear. She probably is just teasing me, trying to get a reaction. Maybe if I don't give her what she wants, she'll leave me alone. She took a deep breath and then made her way over to the elevator next to Louise. A small nod was the only greeting the other woman got before Iskra entered the elevator and pushed the down button. It was up to Louise now if she would join or not. Even though her plan to get Louise to become uninterested required at least some interaction, she couldn't help the small part of her hoping the other woman would decide to wait for someone more interested in conversation.
  20. Iskra watched quietly as everyone else introduced themselves, shrinking slightly further back into her seat as Esther, the other Newtype introduced herself. A direct comparison like that wasn't a good sign for her, especially not in a situation that was basically her last chance. She knew she could handle the fighting, but everything else... Her thoughts were interrupted by the Captain giving them what others clearly took as a dismissal. As Louise and Kazue left, Iskra slid her headphones on, watching Louise leave from under her eyelashes. She wanted to get out of here, but not because she wanted to check on her HEX. She had done that just yesterday, and then been... ambushed was a way to describe it. The memory was strong enough to make her hesitate following directly after Louise. Emotional Impact Still, even if Louise was terrifying, staying in the room full of strangers and higher ups was worse. She flicked her music on, violin music filling her ears and stood up, saluting the Captain. "Ma'am." The formalities completed enough to stand up to basic scrutiny, she didn't quite flee, but left quickly, staying far enough behind Louise to hopefully not draw attention once she was out. All she wanted at this point was to get to her HEX and have some time to relax before the simulation.
  21. Iskra sat on the side of the group, coat pulled tightly around herself, hands twisting the sleeves as she listened to the introductions and orders. A combat simulation to see how the group worked together wasn't unexpected, but it still was enough to spike her already high anxiety a little higher. There were too many emotions in the room to really isolate any to a specific person, and she could already feel a headache coming on. The idea of speaking in front of this whole group was nauseating, but the idea of waiting until last, having everyone focus on her and then having no one to pull that attention away was somehow worse. She swallowed, eyes closed for a brief second as Louise finished her introduction (that woman was a whole other can of worms Iskra didn't want to think too hard about), and then spoke up, voice cracking slightly. "I-Iskra Dusen, Hubbel graduate. Lieutenant, Junior Grade. Newtype pilot, with a focus on ranged weaponry. N-no further questions, ma'am." She tucked a hand under her coat, feeling the artificially warm presence of Ion hidden under there, the cat providing a reassurance as age settled back into her seat, trying to calm her breathing. This was the worst case scenario really. She would take a robot's cockpit with just her and Ion, facing down fire any day over something like this...
  22. Cin relaxed his grip on Siorel slightly as she seemed to relax, still worried about her but not wanting to hold on too tightly. "Bad memories, huh? Some day... Some day I want to hear more. About you, your past, how you got some of these scars. The mental and physical ones." He sighed, looking over at the rest of the group before shaking his head. "I don't need it today, to be clear. I can wait until you're ready, but I care too much about you to not know. Ok?" He turned his attention back to her and gave her forehead a gentle kiss. "You did amazingly. Everyone would agree. Your dances, your magic, you did so well. You're a big part in why everyone is as ok as they are. I'm proud of you, Siorel." Diya sighed internally as the charging figure was revealed to be an overly excited Sophie. We're representing the Lady Celine right now Sophie. Try to act like it. Even having recognized her, she kept the lance steady for a moment until Celine ordered her to drop it. She stowed it away, looking at the group Celine believed to be aligned with them. As she was assessing them, she had a shock as Ren approached, followed by an elven man being carried by a lizard of some sort. More importantly, the elf was carrying the target of their desperate search, and just casually handed it over to Ren, confirmation that either Celine's suspicions were true, or this group was playing a much more subtle game than Diya could decipher. As Ren offered the sword to Celine, Diya gave them a small wave of greeting, glad to see they seemed to be all right after what seemed to be a harrowing battle. She also waved to Jesse who had confirmed the worries of Celine of Tristan's involvement. She followed Celine in discounting, storing her shield on her back, though she kept her lance in hand and moved behind Celine, watching the situation unfold. If Celine was calling the mage Lady Tio, that meant she was likely the Evoker, which allowed Diya to relax slightly. That was a good sign the group was not a danger to them. And if they were, there's not much I could do about it anyways. The Iron Tigers, huh? Rem, Jesse, Sophie... You've gotten tangled up with some interesting folks.
  23. "Hey now, no no." Cin sat down, holding Siorel close to his chest, gently stroking her hair. "It's ok, come on. No need to apologize. This was so far above us, you don't need to apologize. I wasn't able to do anything at all. I'm sorry I couldn't help you more." He looked up, the magic surrounding them infusing him with a warm, strong feeling, and then over at Tio. It was clearly her magic, something that left him feeling safer. That feeling was disrupted slightly by the sound of approaching horses, but the reaction of the Knights with the party assuaged that fear quickly enough. It seemed like the knight, Celine, that they had all talked about at points had finally arrived. "We're safe now, Siorel. It will be ok." I have to get stronger. I would have been useless against any of those three. I'm still not really sure how I did so well against the princess, if I'm honest. To protect her, to protect the others, I need to be stronger! Diya was close behind Celine, pulling up behind her as she stopped, lance and shield drawn, ready for just about anything. One of the few things she had not been prepared for was what appeared to be a shining field of magic surrounding the group in the field in front of them. "Lady Celine, what..." Her question was interrupted by a figure breaking free from the group and charging at them. Instinctively, she wheeled her horse forward, placing herself in front of her commander, lance lowered and pointed at the figure. "Halt! Do not approach without identifying yourself!"
  24. Yana raised an eyebrow as the ice around her arm disappeared, and she grinned. "Well then, this got interesting~ Bye bye all you." She looked over them and then looked at the brave pink haired healer and winked at her. "Make sure you get your party up and healthy. Sorry the boys were so rough. We just really needed that princess back." She waved before turning and following after Tanvir. She didn't feel a need to introduce herself. They already had Tanvir's name from that one man, so that didn't lose anything, but she didn't need to give any information out. She casually waved to the group behind her as they walked away, and then looked up at Tan. "Well. That could have gone better, but we saved the princess and the man who saved her. Time to get her back home, yeah?"
  25. Kas gave Tan one final glance and smiled slightly before turning back to the fox, his face turning serious again. "Right then. Lets just get this over with." He continued to move closer, carefully keeping an eye on the rest of the group as he did. They didn't seem to be making any moves besides the healer making sure his hostage, Gean apparently, was healed. That was a relief. It didn't seem like this group was specifically against their goals, more that it was a strange coincidence. Still, he had to get the princess. As he approached the fox, in range to do the swap, he gave her a tight smile. "No tricks, just the trade." He stowed his gun quickly, reaching out to get a hand on Lucille before releasing Gean into the fox's arms. Pulling Lucille into his arms quickly, he gave her a slightly brighter smile, and commented, "Right then, I'll be going." He made a quick hand gesture, slightly hampered by the woman in his arms, and with a shimmer of light vanished from view. Time to go. Time to go, time to go, time to go. Get out of here too Yana, Tan. We need to be safe. He turned, moving quickly away from the group, starting to pick up pace as he went. He knew where they were set to rendezvous, but he had a ways to go before he headed there. He wasn't headed straight there, not trusting that fox to not try and follow him. The vitriol in her voice had been a little too strong for him to trust it. As soon as he was out of sight of the group, he suddenly stopped running, looking up at the pegasus that had suddenly appeared in his path, despite his still being invisible. "Hah, guess you know your mistress, huh?" He dropped the spell, walking up to the clearly exhausted mount, letting her sniff at the princess in his arms. "She'll be ok. You both will be. You're safe now, we've got her. Time to go home." Yana let out a sigh of relief as her brother disappeared, with the princess. "Right then, Tan. Any last words or are we going to just head out? Feels like we might have outstayed our welcome, you know?" She grinned at the group of mercenaries in front of them, her tense stance relaxing slightly. "Lovely to meet you all, shame we'll have to be leaving. Ah well, perhaps we'll meet again and I'll get to have some more fun then." Cin let out a sigh of relief as Gean was handed back over, and he released his magic, dropping down to one knee to scoop Siorel up in his arms. "It's ok. We're going to be ok. Nothing is going to hurt you, I promise." He held her close, glaring up at the two figures still present. He wasn't going to let them hurt her.
