  1. If you want a super simple argument then I could just point out that most ED1 cases tend to be along the lines of "grasping at straws" anyway because there are no flips to work with. <_< Some are just worse than others, and I don't think my reasons for voting JB are that bad. But I still think his argument wasn't really valid based on what I said. People usually don't really grasp at straws unless they're forced to do so as far as I'm aware (because if they aren't then they would have something better to grasp onto).
  2. To elaborate further, JB's post still gives off the impression of "I can see where you could be coming from as a townie, but ___". That doesn't look like honest scumhunting to me. If you think the person who you're attacking's actions could be interpreted as townie, then you should explain why you think the actions are more likely to come from scum in this particular scenario.
  3. @Naglfar: If that was the post you took issue with, then you could have linked to it instead of the one where I initially voted him. <_< I still don't feel satisfied with JB's post. It's along the lines of "what Prims did could maybe be perceived as scummy in some situations, but I'm going to jump on you anyway". He's conceding points to the person he's attacking while making the attack and it doesn't sit well with me as a bandwagon hop. Levity cut: So? Posting is pro-town, and if Snike is a townie then he'll show up to post when he gets the chance. If he uses what I'm saying as an excuse to lurk out the game as much as possible, then we can LALu the fuck out of him later on. Hunting lurkers during early day 1 is a waste of good votes, in my opinion, given that during ED1 it is incredibly possible that people just haven't posted content because they haven't had time to post serious content since the day got serious. If anything it's an excuse for people to look like they're making their vote useful without actually making it useful.
  4. I don't know what the precedent is for activity in SF games, but I've seen games with players a lot lot lazier than the one here (and am currently hosting one elsewhere <______<). Never give up! People may be jerks who hate playing in mafia games they sign up for, but you have to keep hosting and force them to keep up the commitments they don't want to commit to as a way of passive-aggressively spiting them. Mod ragequitting is also bad form toward the people who actually care about the game, but doing things to make people happy is a lot less malevolent, and given what you just posted I don't think it would be as appealing to you.
  5. I never actually said what I'd do as scum. I just pointed out that as scum I would have had an option that would have probably been more ideal. I don't actually know what I would have done in that situation as scum. Doesn't really matter.
  6. Also seriously Levity why are you attacking everybody but the person you're voting
  7. People believing that "If I were scum" is a hard scumtell is baffling to me. I have never found it to be particularly problematic unless it's used to delibrately invoke retarded WIFOM along the lines of "if I were scum I wouldn't do something that scummy", but I don't think people actually do that aside from newbies. <_< The other option is to just let an unfounded attack on me fly. Naglfar poked me for "grasping at straws" which gives off the impression that he thought I only voted JB because I felt I absolutely had to and needed to BS reasons for it. Scum!me wouldn't have needed to BS reasons against JB (or even vote anybody if he decided to vote Kevin). Is my vote on JB a towntell? Probably not, but I don't think Naglfar's attack is really valid. I don't recall trying to meta anybody.
  8. ...how is that grasping at straws? Is it because I moved my vote onto somebody who the crowd wasn't already voting? Scum!me would have already had an excuse to sit around on the Kevin wagon instead of attempting original scumhunting if he wanted to do so. I don't think I would have gotten attacked for it either. I can explain my thought process on why Kevin probably isn't worth lynching at this point if you want it. I already explained why I think JB is scummy.
  9. Then why are you voting people for being quiet? I don't think Naglfar looks that weird (though his attempt to excuse himself on meta which cut my post is rather meh). I think JB's post feels more like justifying Kevin while attacking than Naglfar's does, even after the clarification (and like Paperblade, I can't tell if he's backpedaling or if he legitimately made a mistake, but I don't feel comfortable lifting my vote from him).
  10. Man, I was going to save this for after Kevin posted again but I then re-read my ED1 spat with him in detail and I can see him as an overzealous townie who bit off more than he could chew. I don't think what he did was worth the SURPRISE 5-PERSON PILE-UP even though I thought it was bad, and I'm wary of high-speed D1 bandwagons in general. Might as well give our lurkers more votes to mull over when they arrive, anyway. ##Unvote ##Vote JBCWK Is anybody else getting weird vibes from this post? He said my vote was "rather scummy" yet he hopped on Kevin's wagon anyway, meaning he's attack Kevin for voting over something he thinks is scummy. This doesn't look like proper logic to me, and it also looks like an attempt to discredit my posts on JB's part. I don't really trust his vote. Gut says obvtown!Paperblade and scum!Levity but I don't have anything concrete on either one.
  11. A mole in a 12p set-up would be pretty ridiculous, honestly. Still want to hear from lurkers. Pretty sure I saw Kay in this thread a few minutes ago.
  12. L-2 = 2 votes away from lynch I agree that the speed of the wagon looks bad (hence why I brought it up), but still do think that Kevin's actions are still scummy. Again, I'd like to hear from the non-posters before considering switching elsewhere. Hearing some words from Kevin himself would be nice as well.
  13. Kevin is at L-2 (a theoretical L-1 given that Levity expressed dislike of him but didn't want to vote) by my count, which is somewhat unnerving given that the game has been going on for all of ~12.5 hours and there's already a major common suspect. I'm honestly not sure how hammering works in this game since it appears to have set deadlines even though it's a nightless set-up, but the near-majority is still telling. Currently more interested in hearing from other people, such as the ones who are voting Ether (given that he mentioned replacing out). And also Snike.
  14. Proper way to Popcorn claim is that town in general picks a suspicious player to go first. After claiming, the chosen player then picks the person they think is the most suspicious to go next, and the process repeats itself. The idea is that the scummier players claim before the townies, increasing the chance of scum getting snagged by a counterclaim or a tracker/watcher result that proves them wrong.
  15. Yeah, based on this, you evidently haven't taken the time to step back and think about what I was trying to do when I made the vote (hint: the proper answer isn't "get you D1 lynched by starting an baseless two-person wagon within the first 24 hours of Cycle 1") so I don't see the point in arguing. I'll answer your questions to amuse you, though. 1. Nope 2. Not when it's being thrown around as buzzword used to discredit somebody
  16. I mean, yeah, if I had put you at L-1 or something like that I would understand the wariness but as is you're just flipping out over nothing and it's pretty hialrious.
  17. tl;dr version of why I think you're scummy (as far as D1 cases go): I stacked a second vote on you after Paperblade already voted to see what would happen, and now you're suddenly engaging vote modo even though: - Two votes isn't enough to lynch so you weren't even in any danger of a lynch from my vote - Two votes barely qualifies as a wagon with 12 alive - My vote wasn't even stated to be serious and I hadn't even interacted with you Given this, it looks like you're jumping out at the first reason you can find to lynch somebody instead of actually trying to find scum intent in their actions.
  18. I would suggest stacking a blank vote on top of another blank vote and see if scum overreacts to the notion of a RVS wagon, but it seems somebody already did that.
  19. lmao Actually not sure if you're scum or just a hypersensitive townie. Willing to bet on the first for now.
  20. Who was I sheeping? Last I checked I never cited anybody's reasons for voting. Stacking votes isn't sheeping, it's just... stacking votes. That said, I'm content keeping my vote where it is because your post borders on overreaction, as well as opportunism.
  21. ##Vote Kevin @Balcerzak: If it exists, I would assume it only applies to special actions, not factional ones. It's possible there's some role that leaks information at the start of cycles while alive.
  22. ##Unvote Posting to say I exist. SMS is theoretically broken as hell since an investigative role could just PM their results to a cleared or next-to-confirmed townie, assuming one exists in the set-up. I would guess that scum probably has a role to counteract this (possibly an eavesdropper, or a way to stop people from sending messages).
  23. It's a Touhou character.

  24. I don't really appreciate being stalked, though :i
  25. ...huh, that's clever, and also broken as shit. Scum priority changers are weird, man.
