Nothing has been revealed thus far however it seems they only go from C-A and not everyone has supports with everyone (bar Alear who probably supports everyone) as we have seen that Chloé does not support Diamant nor Alcryst. That's all we really know.
Okay! Thanks for answering me.
Kinda relieved not everyone has supports with everyone cause I hope that means the writers will put a stronger focus on the supports each character has.

Hi y'all, I'm trying to stay out of this thread to avoid spoilers, but can someone please tell me if they revealed how the supports work in this game? One of the things I'm most curious about. Thanks!

I'm of the mind that Byleth was the right 3H choice, but Azura would have been a better Fates choice.
Does IS even consider Azura a lord? Cause I don't think so, but of course they didn't have to make the rings lords only to begin with I guess.

Well, this is "Emblem Marth" by his own admission, so it's not like you have to worry about Caeda getting involved. I doubt the corruption will stick.
I don't mind the "corruption" lasting for a bit! Every love story needs a bit of a drama : P
-
And when I end up shipping Alear and Marth, then what???
-
Eh, honestly, after being stuck as Byleth, getting to play as someone who seems to be kind and down to earth is something I'm actually looking forward too. I'm so happy Alear is voiced.

Honestly, I'm fine with them not revealing all the characters.

- A married couple (not sure if this counts)
I'd love this, we really never get any of those :/ Like I don't think many players would cry if they couldn't S support two units cause they are married, but sadly I don't think IS sees it that way.

That's out of order though, Alfred is supposedly pairing with sigurd and sigurd hasn't been revealed yet in the jpn twitter, nor his retainers.
I assume Sigurd will be revealed next on the Japanese twitter account whenever they make a tweet.
As for why they skipped them and did Alfred's younger sister and her retainers first...I assume as she's the less important person out of the two, they thought it would be more fitting to get her and her retainers/emblem out of the way first? Idk, but that is my guess!
-
I kinda figured out that the order will be
Important character > Emblem character paired up with that said character > the two characters that work under the important character.

Rude healers.
Rude healers are the best healers, but I fear most people in the community aren't ready for THAT conversation.

I assume you mean the A-support, since I cannot remember Byleth`s gender changing the other ranks at all.
I don't remember which support it was exactly, but I remember Shamir telling Byleth something along the lines of how they reminded her of a man she used to know, which sounds VERY strange to say to female Byleth.

I feel you so much. It's not limited to FE but quite a lot of games with selectable protagonists definitely don't put in any effort to make it feel like they weren't written with an explicitly male protagonists in mind. As much as it's a pipe dream I would love for the fact one might be playing as a girl to be acknowledged properly 😭
Yeah V_V </3
And like...Three houses had some here and there lines where they acknowledged Byleth's gender, but then THAT Shamir support happened and I couldn't keep pretending that they did a good job. So I really hope you are onto something regarding Alear!
-
I don't know, but I'd be all for any differences that they can add to make the two genders NOT feel the same. And I'm never asking for Persona 3 level of differences, but I really dislike when developers put zero effort into it.
Like off the top of my head, I can think of two examples where the way female Byleth got talked too made no sense as she's a girl, and it just felt so awkward the way the writers tried to make it make sense.

Do you mean Framme? She always wields staves since shes a healer. But Celine never wielded staves unless she had celica engaged with her, she can only wield swords and tomes (which is what the class bio also said).
Oh sorry, my bad. I thought you meant Framme as I never noticed that Celine could wield a staff before.

She only was able to wield a staff through engaging with Celica.
Did she? Are you sure? Cause I could swear I've seen the staff icon on that silver haired girl without Celica's icon being near her.

So we really seem to be going back to RD’s flavor here but this makes me even more concerned for how promotions work. Do we not get more weapons after promotion? Vander is the only promoted unit we see and he is locked to a single weapon despite being in a class that has wielded at least two in nearly all games.
Maybe it has something to do with balancing the units? Cause we saw some units who aren't promoted be able to use two weapon types, while Vander has a horse, so maybe giving him only one weapon type will make him less powerful.

The translation of that conversation between Louis and Alear makes it sounds like Louis could be a little messed up, which is ALWAYS fun <3

I feel like regardless if you think the art direction of this game to be a good or a bad one, to say the artist has zero talent would be a bit too much.
I personally do prefer Echoes's art style more to what we're getting in Engage, but I guess the good (or it could be bad) thing when it comes to Fire Emblem is that you can always count on them changing their artist by the next mainline game, so we really don't have to deal with a FE game looking exactly like this again, for better or worst.

The whole thing is actually fake. They literally made all these assets at the last minute for trailers, and the real game announcement is a Tokyo Mirage Sessions dancing spinoff.
I believe you, The IS team is just feeling a bit silly and wants to keep the fans guessing their next move. Gotta respect the hustle.
-
I'm sorry but I'm laughing at the way that tweet worded it. "The story seems like it will..."
What do you mean seems? Shouldn't you know? Or is IS leaving people in the dark regarding the story? XD
-
I remember back when Three Houses first got announced, some people were VERY worried about how the marketing was being handled...and then things turned out great sales wise. Going to trust that they know what they're doing this time around too!
-
I'm sorry, but isn't that what they've been doing so far when it comes to avatars both when it comes to supports and outside of them? If anything, I dislike it as copying the exact text across both genders without making any changes is THE lazy thing to do, and I'm not going to applaud them for it.
Remember those Fates: Revelations runs that would have the two royal families intermarry fully? Idly thinking of doing something similar.

It will get really hard for the children of those royal couples to find another royal to marry who isn't related to them : P
Jokes aside, this does sound like a fun idea, I really hope pairing characters up is a thing in this game too.
