According to the Legendary/Mythic Heroes schedule, we have 4 colorless heroes scheduled for February (not counting the remix heroes): Arval, Fomortiis, Gotoh and Gullveig.
So unless they move someone to another month, looks like one of them is on the Anniversary Hero Fest.
I will already say it here, that I don't expect Gullveig to be the one of the Hero Fest. No way that will happen in my opinion. My guess is Arval or Fomortiis.

I was expectin myself to not be able to clear this with my Marths, but Young Marth's refinement made it possible.

Given the the offensive Tempo effect is tied to their Special, I wonder how the offensive Tempo effect interacts with the defensive counterpart on an enemy. I forget how it works but I believe effects on a Special upon trigger.
Both Light is Time and Time is Light nullifies the Guard effect. So you can't stop their special from charging. That's what we call the "Offensive Tempo effect"
What we call the "Defensive Tempo effect" is when you nullify the effects that grant extra special charges, like Heavy and Flashing Blade, Breath, or the Special Cooldown Charge +1 status effect granted by skills like Atk/Spd Pledge and Oracle's Breath.
Each half of the Tempo skill don't interact with each other.
So if Gullveig is in combat against a foe that has Tempo, that means nothing.
Kvasir, however, has Special Cooldown Charge +1 on her tome, so the foe with Tempo will nullify that effect. So instead of her Cooldown going from 4 to 2 with her attack, the cooldown will go from 4 to 3, for example.

Thing about Gullveig that I think you are overlooking a bit is just how much chip damage units can take from her. Who need damage reduction piercing when you reduce the unit's to so low hp it doesn't actually matter. You need a unreal amounts of dr to survive at 1 hp which can easily happen with say Gullveig base kit and savage blow seal. Keep in mind that even if you do kill the Gullveig the chip damage is staying for follow up attackers.
Brave Gullveig already showed us how much damage multiple flared sparrows can do this is on a cav with an additional galeforce from the special.
Also just saying both would be infinitely better as offensive mythics than defensive. Gullveig in particular would be the most perfect offensive mythic ever.
Unless Gullveig has Hardy Bearing, I am not really scared of her. Brave Gullveig never caused me trouble in Astra/Anima seasons.
-
I feel like Gullveig is the least threating of the two Mythics introduces today. But both are very strong.
Gullveig gets 70% DR on first hit only, so if you have a Vantage unit that can attack twice, and she is not using Hardy Bearing, she easily dies on the counterattack. I would consider changing her B skill for Wind or Water sweep, or giving her Hardy Bearing seal just in case. Even with Hardy Fighter (no Windsweep), there is a chance of Altina surviving the first attack and killing her on the counterattack because of the damage reduction she gets from her A skill, plus damage reduction from allies like Elimine or Veyle.
Kvasir, meanwhile, gets 70% DR on all first hits, just like annoying Wind Claude, on top of being a Dark Season which is already a Season with very annoying Mythics. And there are no Light Mythics that can really counter her. I feel like her special is clearly meant to refresh the Dancer that will warp to her after the first combat, so she can also get 3 actions (Attack, dancer warp and refresh, attack again, refresh the dancer, dancer refresh her, attack again).
Both Mythics are annoying but if one season is more for masochists, it's the Dark Season imo.

My only complain about Tiki's resplendent pick is that it's dokkálfr, because in september we got 2 dokkálfrs in a row with Rhajat and Ursula. Meanwhile, 5 months since last ljósálfar resplendent (Nina).
To be fair, the dark colors from the dokkálfr matches more the Adult Tiki's original style, but still...
Honestly, being one of the fairy attires was, to me, the best pick for Adult Tiki... especially considering that Young Tiki got the Emblian Attire and no way we would have both Tikis with the same attire.

Nothing happened in Jotenheim, they could get back to it, but all the realms have made some type of appearance or representation.
To me, that will be the theme for next year's TT Story.
Reginn may be getting ready to reing over Niðavellir, and something may happen that require the help of Jötunheimr.
One idea I had was that since Jötunheimr stayed responsable to keep an eye on Niðavellir, maybe the actual Queen of Jötunheimr (Dagr's mother) decides to not give it back to Reginn and plan to keep Niðavellir as part of her realm. That could make Dagr going against her own mother and helping Reginn on that.

But it just hit me: what happened to Veronica? Gullveig letting her go made me think she'd come back later but... nope. I always thought the insistence on shoehorning Veronica into the plots was annoying, but it's weird that the first time her getting involved made sense (since Askr and Embla are formally allies as of Book VI) she... didn't.
My take on that was Gullveig decidindo to attack Embla first, so make them weak, forcing them to not take action against her. By defeating Embla early, Veronica would not have the strength to help Askr.
But then the question still remaining: why Gullveig didnt kill Veronica there? Maybe she felt that Seidr was already in action with her plan of supporting Askr, so she had to move fast and couldn't waste more of her time dealing with Embla? She probably felt that her present self was going away from the Serpent Curse Destiny, which could cause future self, the Golden Seer, to not exist anymore? It's hard to say.

They grouped each batch of chapters in different times.
Chapter 13 takes place in the future of the fallen timeline, where the Order of Heroes fails to defeat Gullveig and everyones dies. That future, however, is a vision granted to the Summoner by Seiðr. Also, soon after the events of the chapter and after bringing destruction to the world, Gullveig creates Heiðr to carry the Serpent Curse, and Gullveig sends herself back in time to be reborn as Kvasir.
Chapter 5 to 8 takes place in the present, where Seiðr comes to the Order of Heroes to inform them about the evil coming and to aid them, and takes them to Vanaheimr to try to find a solution to this problem. Njörðr grants Seiðr the power of light, and with the Rite of Light she is able to look into all the realms in order to localize Gullveig before the Serpent Curse takes action, but they fail to localize her because they were looking at the wrong place. Gullveig appear in Vanaheimr in order to stop them and to send them to the past.
Chapter 2 to 4 takes place in the Past, where Summoner meets Kvasir in order to create a bond between them. Once reunited with the Order, they all learn that Kvasir is the one that will become Gullveig in the future, and learn that Kvasir, Seiðr and Gullveing are the same person.
Chapter 9 to 12 is them going back to the present, where Heiðr is sacrificed for the serpent curse to activate, Njörðr is killed by Gullveig and Seiðr finds a way to be free from the curse with the help of Nerþuz. However, the curse still exist somewhere, and Gullveig brings Kvasir to the present in order to help her killing Seiðr so the Serpent Curse is not stopped.
Finally, Chapter 1 has the new future, where the Serpent Curse is finally over and Seiðr can live her life without having the destiny of bringing destruction to the world.
Chapter 13 can be represented as the "ending that never was", while Chapter 1 can also be represented as the "new beginning".

I will guess the lack of demotes in the banner is just for this time of the year, because IS wants to introduce a new alf of the banner's themed title while also introducing one of the TT Story's units.
I believe it will go back to having a demote on the banner starting on December or January.
...
Anyway, about the banner... this is a skip to me.
Ginnungagap looks annoying to deal with, only because of her B skill... that acts like a menace skill, which makes me surprised it's not a C skill instead. Also, IS being IS in creating a problem and trying to sell the solution after, with the non-Miracle counter effect.
Isadora looks nice as both a buffer and debuffed, but not much to say about her.
Bothers me a little that Harken is just Male Shez but better. He does what Shez does, and more. Also, why the Hel's Warping effect? That's kinda random.
Finally, we have Nino... Honestly, BoaFerox did well in describing this alt as a "Brave Hero alt that never existed", because being a dagger unit wearing clothes similar to Jaffar is for sure something Brave Nino would be. Well, she looks good and strong... that's about it.
Insta-demote Wil... cool.
And the GHB unit is
the Holy Kingdom ofFargus. Infantry Axe unit, which to me what looks like a prf weapon. If he has nice stats and a good weapon, it could become a merge project. -
Not gonna lie... while it's fun to play with some new units I don't have, this mode is still so repetitive and long. I wouldn't complain if they reduced the amount of days this event runs.

Now that the remixes are out, we have a new schedule for these banners. Thanks to Mina_776_ for this graphic.

Who were the previous Nidavellir resplendent units anyway? Merric, Sothe, and Jaffar? Am I missing someone?
That's it. Without counting Azama, we only had 3 Nidavellir Resplendents so far. Azama wil be the 4th one.
-
Sigh... Nothing to say here that can explain my disappointed and disgust about it.
1 hour ago, Ice Dragon said:Okay, maybe Merlinus is more disappointing since Azama can at least use Pain and Incurable.
Hey! I disagree!
At least the 5* Merlinus we would get would give us Wings of Mercy 3 and Distant Guard 3 fodder.
Even with extra stats, I would prefer to use any other of the many healers stuck in the 3-4* poll than Azama.

Looks like the new status effect inflicted by Ruse 4 has a bug.
According to how [Schism] works, if you nullifies this status effect with a skill like Restore+, Recovery C skill or others sources of skills that nullifies any penalties from allies, the Triangle Attack, Dual Strike and Pathfinder will also be neutralized. Even if you end your turn those effects disappear alongside the Schism.
But looks like it is not how it work is Odd Recovery and Even Recovery. Recovery C skills are able to nullify Schism, allowing units to use the Triangle Attack, Dual Strike and Pathfinder effects. It's not the case with others skills like Restore+ or Valentine Alm's Duo Skill. Only Recovery skills.

The final map of this Tempest Trials is just a bit unsettling. If you turn on battle animations, you'll see that the area is a post-apocalyptic modern city and not something from the world of Heroes. Someone has something they're not telling us.
Yeah, I noticed that they used the "World of Steel" background.
"In exchange for living in extreme comfort, no one who lives there is able to dream any longer... It is a gray world, where no álfr can live..." - Peony about the World of Steel in Book IV: Chapter 12-1
I wonder if there is no afar there because of Ginnungagap killing all the ones that enter that realm? Could Ginnungagap be the reason there is no dreams in that world?
35 minutes ago, Ice Dragon said:That... is certainly what Atk/Def Ideal looks like and does. Yep. Definitely.
Thanks for pointing it out. I already corrected it in the thread.

Final map of Nihility & Dream 5 and the next new FEH OC [SPOILERS]:
We will have the first Arcane Dagger on this month’s New Heroes banner.
At this point, there is no sign of a Mirabilis alt but there is still one part of this story to go.
About that...
SpoilerUnless they surprise us with a Mirabilis alt alongside Ginnungagap in the New Heroes banner this month (which is possible), I don't think she will be getting anything in the last TT chapter.
The part 6 of the story goes alongside the Christmas heroes, and the new heroes banner of that month is a new Book banner, with the new Book protagonist. So there is no space for Mirabilis in December. It's pretty much now or never.

I was hoping they would increase Plumeria's support range from 3x5 to 5x5. Honestly, her refinement is a disappointment. Having the refinement or not doesn't change much, because while it's cool to have some combat abilities, you better user her to dance than attacking. At least she can now tank mages better with that extra resistance I guess.
52 minutes ago, Ice Dragon said:Given all of the skill effects that Brave Marth has on his weapon, this one is pretty underwhelming. At the very least, they should have at least given Young Marth something like the Desperation effect on enemy phase to set him apart.
Honestly... even though Marth is a special hero, he is also the 4* special rate of that banner. I wonder if they took that in consideration, and treated him as a demote refinement where while it is a good refinement it is still not a very strong one.
For me, I didn't expect much outside a bunch of stats, so having Lull Spd/Def nad Spd based damage is a good thing. I never expected him to be on the same level as Brave Marth.
-
My Heidr would really enjoy that Ruse 4. But I can wait for later. I have others priorities, and this banner is not one of them.
Mythic Hero Battle - Gullveig & Kvasir
in Heroes War Room
Posted
@GuiltyLoveNice clear as well! OHKO on Gullveig was great, considering how much damage Catria can deal. Kvasir needed more than one combat to be taken down, but still... she was not strong enough to deal with the Whitewing sisters.
The thing about Gullveig is that her weapon only works if she initiates or if her foe is at 75% HP or more. If not, then her weapon does nothing for her. Considering Brave Marth was quite low in HP, Gullveig didn't get that huge amount of Spd she usually gets from her weapon, so it was easy to doubler and kill her.
Kvasir was a little more trickier, but the Bonus Doubler 4 effect on Young Marth was the key factor on this. By using Brave Marth's visible buffs on Spd, Young could avoid the Lull Spd/Res and have enough Spd to double her. My only problem was that I needed all Marth's skills to be granting Spd, so I didn't have anything to grant him special charge to Galeforce. Luckily, I remembered that Infantry Rush existed, granting the Drive Heavy Blade I needed.
