  1. As he calmed down from that sudden family reunion, Ren watched as Ayane also dealt with her turmoil of emotions. Not quite the same as him, but he knew that his cousin was definitely feeling this worse than him. Still, they had to endure and stay alive until they could meet Suzume once more. Hopefully, it didn't end in more bloodshed. Before he could move from his spot though, a sudden relief spread through him as he saw Gabriela reach him unscathed. "Thank you Gabriela, I'll keep that in mind. Usually I don't have issues dealing with these barbarians, but after- E-eh????" She didn't let him finish, the Siren suddenly taking his Yari from him as he blinked and wondered what just happened. At the realization of her words, his pale cheeks brightened up with a blush, simply nodding as he tried to clear his head of any indecent thoughts. S-She didn't mean it like that. We just met, and yes she's very s-stunning but...o-oh dear.. "That...is a problem for Future Ren to handle," he muttered to himself, shaking his head as a soft huff of amusement left him. With a smile on his lips and feeling like a weight has been lifted, he moved to keep an eye on the thief near him. After taking out a vulnerary and applying it to his wounds, he felt better for the moment. Now holding his Tonbokiri, a threatening aura surrounded him as he kept a close eye on the thief. Ren moves to 12,16, applies a vuln and gives off a threatening vibe towards the thief
  2. He watches the scene unfold, eyes widening as Ayane completely throws Orochinagi down on the ground. There was so much going through his mind, thoughts racing yet he stayed rooted in his spot as Suzume tried and failed to bring them to Ouka's side. The witch will pay for what she's done. As she started to laugh, he felt his heart clench. Oh how he missed it when it wasn't warped by madness and manipulation...sadness... When she left, and was gone for good, he couldn't help but waver in his stance as he caught himself before falling. The meeting took its toll, freezing pants leaving him as he bent and placed his hands on his knees for balance. The frozen air didn't cease until a moment after, now icy blue eyes looking back at his cousin. Their was a cold hatred running through him, skin cold to the touch, frost building up around and under where his feet were placed... "Soon...We will get h-her back soon, I promise," he called out to Ayane, as well as reassured himself of the promise he had made. It was the only thing keeping him in check at the moment, the sudden Chill passing through him and ebbing away.
  3. Ren easily disposed of the mercenary charging at him. He took advantage of the initial confusion and brought down his yari to end the man's life. A quick prayer was sent to the troubled soul, before Ren could focus on his cousin ad Taliyah. It seemed everything was getting taken care of, and while he couldn't talk to the hero yet Ren was able to get a look at her from afar. Although, he couldn't get a good look yet, maybe if he got a bit closer- "Oh, darling cousin, sister... I've missed you, truly~" He froze, sudden puffs of frosty smoke leaving his parted lips as he took a deep breath and placed his undivided attention at Suzume. He watched Ayane, the only other person he could acknowledge at the moment, and mimicked her movements by putting his weapon away. Suzume has not attacked them, so there was no reason to retaliate. Plus, it was quite hard to raise a weapon at a dear family member with the intention to kill. He let the sisters have their words, an as he watched Ren could notice that Suzume was...sad. She was not happy, the tears were not happy. Living and spending his time with his cousins has helped him to recognize their reactions, their movements and hidden meanings. This was a cry for help. "Suzume, you don't know how much I would love to join you. For Ayane to join us and be together once more," he starts, raw emotion in his voice. "But Ouka is not the way. We can seek help, and be together once more. That's what you want, what we want." He paused, needing a moment. "My dear Suzu..." He smiles, that pure smile lacking any negative emotions, as tears well up in his eyes. A smile only reserved for Ayane and Suzume. "You are like a sister to me. Please, reconsider; think about this. I'm so glad you came with no ill intent, but I dont want this to be the last time we're able to talk like this," he finishes up, waiting for an answer as he prays that Suzume doesn't lash out at them. He hopes that his words, while not enough to quickly change her mind, reaches her and settle in her mind.
  4. He nods as his cousin tells him her worries, knowing full well of the repercussions if their weapons were to break. They'd find a blue spider lily first before they could ever find a master blacksmith worth their salt...and from Nanbu as well... ... On second thought, maybe they should be extra careful with their weapons. Good thing he had the Yari already. As he followed the rest, instead of immediately following suit with the others Ren did as told and went on to find an iron sword for Ayane. Without asking -since there was no time to do so- he quickly took one of the swords from the convoy before making his way towards his cousin. "Here!" he calls out, the only warning he gives before passing the sword through the air. It was a practiced throw, coming from all the battles fought and collaborative spars they've had with their respective fathers. He had no doubt that she'd catch it, and so without worrying more he went back to looking around and evaluate the situation at hand. "It seems two of the thieves have been downed- wait, Taliyah!" he calls out, but he was a second too late as the girl dashed past them and some of the thieves caught sight of her. Making his way, he stayed near Ayane but was closer to Taliyah who was in more danger at the moment. move to 6,12
  5. So cute. It was nice to hear her laugh, usually a rare occurrence after she grew up into her teens. Such a serious young lady, Ren often cherished the times Ayane would relax and just let loose. "A meeting with the leaders would be ideal, as well as with the hero. If you want me there then I'll be sure to appear and offer insight when needed," he replies, nodding with a smile upon his lips. It would help to settle some uncertainties the foreigners had, plus discuss the problems they would face in the near or far future. Once his cousin expressed fatigue and wanted to rest, Ren promptly took the key and stood up after her. "I'll make sure to take this back to Gabriela, yes," he offers, oblivious to the light tint of color on his cheeks as he excused himself as well and went on to find the Siren in question. ~o~ After returning the key to Gabriela, Ren returned back to the room that Lavinia had set up for Ayane and himself. Instead of sleeping like his cousin though, he was left with his thoughts as he sat next to the window in one of the chairs found in the room. Ukogi rested in a makeshift nest he had conjured up with small cloths (courtesy of Geoffrey) and fur from his jack, his breathing making him bob gently up and down. The oni smiled, before looking out from the window. So much has happened since he left Nanbu, and while he is grateful to have found Ayane quickly and safely... Casualties still happened. Once more, he sent prayers to the group that had helped him get to this town. To put people in danger was never his intention, and not something he was ready to tell the others or even Ayane yet. Maybe eventually, when everything is resolved. After all, he was the older of the two. He should be able to shoulder this better than most. Conceal, don't feel. Sighing, he closed his eyes for a moment. As he organized his muddled thoughts, eventually Ren too fell into a light slumber. It didn't last long unfortunately, quickly springing up into the bed as he heard Lavina's calls for them to get ready for confrontation. Quickly taking his weapons and making sure not to wake his feathery friend, he went over to where Ayane was resting and gently shook her shoulder. "Ayane, dear cousin, we must be off," he said, urgency lacing his calm tone. "Lavinia is calling for everyone, we must not dawdle," and with that he went over to the door, waiting for Ayane to wake and get ready as well.
  6. 'If this group have faith and trust in this woman, then we will do so to an extent," he reaffirms with a nod. Then his eyes narrowed. "But, if there is even one hint of her betraying our trust or doing something that threatens your our lives, I will not hesitate to try and bring her down with me," he says with conviction, ensuring that Ayane believed in his words as he pulled his hand away from her cheek. Taking the hand that had been placed on his own, he squeezed it gently before nodding at his cousin. "You're right that Ouka tried to use Suzume as a trump card to get to us. I can tell you right now that it did shake me up quite a bit when I saw her again, after..." He stopped, shook his head, then gave Ayane a reassuring smile. "We will deal with that moment, together. As a family," he says while giving her a pointed look. "No running off on your own like you've done in the past, you hear me? We only have each other now, and I don't want to lose you." A harsh reminder, but something the both of them had to hear in order for it to get ingrained in their heads.
  7. "Y-Yes, of course Aya," he replies with a sudden bout of laughter, using a shortened version of her name that only he and a select few were deemed "worthy" enough to call her by. Wiping away his own tears, he couldn't help to think of how adorable his dear cousin looked at the moment. He dare not say it out loud, lest he wanted to be skewered like a pig. Still, as she threatened to kill him, with no real heat in her words, he simply smiled reverently before sobering up as she wen through the information they had gathered before meeting up. "Yes, I have met one part of the group at the tavern I was resting at. Hm, I did meet the kitsune but...well, I was preoccupied with something more important at the moment," he added, not helping the tease as he smiled once more. Although, as soon as the smile appeared it left, feeling a sense of anger entering him as he thought of what had happened at the tavern earlier. "Ayane, I need to tell you something, and I need you to stay calm. If anything, you can take out the anger on me later; you know better than anyone I can take it," he warns, before revealing the news. "Ouka, the witch, brought back Suzume from the afterlife to torment us." He took a moment, a small breath leaving him before continuing. "She...I don't know how they do it, but Suzume was able to find me before I could find you. We talked, and...I'm glad I was the first one she met with. I-I don't know what you would've done at the time, not with the cursed power you hold now," he says, frowning softly at the mention of their demonized forms. "Dear cousin, I need you to process this as carefully and tactfully as you can at the moment. There is no time to drown in mindless rage. We need to be stronger than them, for us, for our clan." At this point he gently reached out, placing his cool hand against Ayane's warm cheek. "You are not alone, not anymore. We are in this together, for better or worse."
  8. The resonating sound made by the two weapons upon close proximity made Ren choke up, eyes narrowed so as to not let the tears flow. Not now, not in front of Ayane. He needed to be strong, for her, for their clan, for the- And then she lunged at him. He caught her, knowing that she wasn't attacking him, his own weapon clanging on the ground with her own as his eyes widened all of a sudden at the sound of his only family sobbing against him. Seeking comfort in him, and vice versa. His arms held her closely, protectively, and even though he knew just how strong and steady Ayane was, in that moment they were children again. Children that needed each other in a time of mourning. "A-Ayane," he said just above a whisper, not being able to hold back his tears any long as they streamed down his face. Burying his face against her neck, he placed a hand over her head in a soft comfort. He repeated her name, just as she did his; it was like a mantra, soft prayers as they delighted in the fact that they were both alive and together once more. At least, for this moment, there is still hope...still a chance...to make this right.
  9. Even though it looked like he was off to the gallows, Ren felt relief wash over him as well as dread. What did his dear and cute have for him to prove that he was who he said he was? If anything, it would deal with his weapon... After all, their weapons were one of a kind, impossible to replicate. Once they reached the room and went inside, he let out a small breath as he heard the door being locked. Closing his eyes, he steadied himself before opening them and looking back at Ayane. He could see the uncertainty in her features after meeting eye to eye, but it was hidden behind firm determination and the usual fire in here eyes. As she took out her blade, Orochinagi, his eyes drifted towards the glint of the blade. It was breathtaking, always making him feel like he was seeing a piece of art that shouldn't be marred by blood or death. One of the three sacred treasures of their clan, Ren was glad that it hadn't left her side. "Show me your weapon." Should I be thankful to Suzume, for bringing me back Tonbokiri before my meeting with Ayane...? A sudden shiver ran down his spine, pushing away thoughts of what would have happened if he hadn't arrived with his weapon. Nodding, he silently and gracefully pulled out his sacred weapon. There was a vast difference between the simple yari he had and this spear; how sharper the blade was, the craftsmanship of the pole handle, to the markings etched into it as well as the engraving on the steel. Without a word still, he presented the weapon towards Ayane with a small bow of his head.
  10. The newly turned oni startled from his reverie as he felt his cousin's firm grip against his shoulder. That immediately sobered him up, eyes still glistening with unshed tears but a lot more composed than before. At the stare he was recieving, Ren couldn't help but swallow thickly before biting back a nervous chuckle. Leave it to Ayane and her stare of doom to put him in an unsettling state. True, he's faced fierce opponents, even those much stronger than even he or the princess, but no one could compare to her fiery temper. Oh dear, I'm in danger. Nodding at the request of the room and silently thanking and smiling at Gabriela when she offered her own, he waited to be showed to the room while still in his cousin's hold.
  11. Having not seen what had happened on account to him bowing his head, Ren only went with what he heard before looking up from the ground and towards Ayane. At the sight of his headstrong cousin floundering and gaping like a koi fish out of water though, Ren's eyes suddenly widened before flailing his hands in front of him. "A-Ah, are you okay Ayane?!" he asks frantically, his charismatic and cool headed demeanor evaporating to make way for a distressed older sibling. Granted he was only her cousin, but their bond was strong enough to be considered brother and sister. At least, that's what the others back home used to say before- At the site of Taliyah reaching out for Ayane, he immediately made sure to make eye contact with the young girl before frantically shaking his head, hoping she'd leave the other alone before she got hurt in the process. This was a delicate situation only he could diffuse...at least, he hoped he could diffuse it... "Ayane, my dear cousin, please listen to me," he went back to looking at the oni princess, slowly making himself closer as he tried to catch her attention. "I know what you're thinking. Why am I here, why appear after everything that's happened. Maybe even thinking this is a trap from that demon witch Ouka," he bit out the oni's name with as much venom as he could muster. "I am willing to go through any interrogation you put me through, but just know that I am so, so sorry." Even as the fox left to de-stress from his sudden appearance and what it entailed, he paid little attention to her words and attitude as he solely focused on his only living relative. "Princess, I...Know that, even after what we've gone through, what happens next, and what the future holds for us, I will be by your side. I swear to you this, as your Guard...and your family." His voice broke then, but his eyes didn't waver. Even as more tears started to appear, he did not dare let them spill.
  12. As they grew closer to their destination, Ren couldn't help but falter in his steps as he noticed the flaming tree just as it was being put out by a magical cloud. The grip on his Tonbokiri tightened till his knuckles whitened, and Ukogi -feeling his master's distress- poked out of the fur collar and flew to a nearby branch. Better to stay away from the scene in the safety of the trees. He wanted to call out, but the lump in his throat prevented him from doing so. The oni guardian felt his eyes prickle with unshed tears, and he had half a mind to turn around and leave- When he saw the fox berate his dear cousin though, something inside him snapped as his eyes flashed from red to a frosty blue for a fraction of a second. "Now, is there really a need to get mad at someone expressing such regret?" he now speaks up, gathering all the courage he can muster as he walks toward them not. He felt himself relax, now feeling himself calm the closer he got to Ayane. Once there, he suddenly knelt in front of his cousin, on one knee with a fist pressed against the ground in front of him, the other hand still holding his weapon while the yari was strapped to his back. Head lowered, he still couldn't help the calm smile slowly shifting on his lips as he went on to address his cousin. "It's been a while your highness. I would've approached you earlier but...the time wasn't right. I apologize," he spoke clearly, voice steady as he waited for her to respond. He dare not see her expression lest it showed disgust and contempt for him.
  13. Ren blinked, before giving Gabriela an amused smile. "I was actually referring to you and Tayilah. I'm sure the other two are quite capable enough to confront any foe they meet," he replied, a small chuckle escaping him before look at said lizard gir. "Sometimes, it's quite difficult for a person to admit their feelings to another," Ren offered as he walked with them, now with a thoughtful look on his face. He had been on the same boat before; whether it be him trying to court a pretty lady, or having a handsome soldier come up to him with the same intentions, Ren was never the eloquent one when it came to the subject of romance. Maybe that was why his endeavors never ended with anything fruitful, but he didn't need to tell these two that. As the girls continued their conversation, Ren simply watched silently, soft chirping from Ukogi splashed here and there as he snuggled against the oni's coat fur. It wasn't until Taliyah announced a race to get to the inn first that he noticed the smile that had formed in passing, before disappearing as his focus went back to the now flying and running racers. He stood there for a moment, pushing the unwanted sorrow away for now, and went on to follow them back to the inn.

  15. Following Gabriela to where two other ladies were standing, Ren offered a polite bow of his head towards Xalrei and Nessraya. "Ren Itou, at your service," he offered in short greeting while listening in to what they were saying. Knowing he had interrupted their break, and a date to boot, he felt sheepish and rather apologetic as he offered a small smile towards them. "I do apologize for ruining your time of rest and relaxation, but it seems that evil takes no consideration for these things," he offered, before looking over at the Succubus and then at Gabriela and Taliyah. He listened to the lizard girl explain why it was better for her to accompany him back to the inn, and Ren couldn't help the small frown at learning about the prejudice between demons and "half breeds". He stayed silent though, not his place to speak out, but he did have the sudden urge to reach out and pat Taliyah's head in comfort. Not acting out on this feeling (they weren't fully acquainted yet, so it would've been awkward at best), he instead looked over at Gabriela and gave her a reassuring smile. "Quite dishonorable of me to just leave such lovely ladies defenseless. It would be my pleasure to escort you back to the inn, and hopefully find my dear cousin in favorable spirits," he said with a nod, before dismissing himself from the other two and following Taliya and Gabriela out of the bar.
  16. Ren stayed silent, realization dawning on him as his eyes widened. Taking back his weapon, he couldn't help the sudden flinch at the tone she took when talking about Efari. He gripped Tonbokiri tightly, sending a silent prayer to the group that had helped him get here safely. All he could do now was hope that their passing was quick. As she left the tavern, and was finally out of sight, Ren let out the breath he had been holding in. He shuddered, pressing a hand against his face as he tried to compose himself once more. Barely catching Taliyah's words, the oni looked over at the young lizard girl with a guarded expression. "Don't be fooled. We just ran into one of Ouka's...minions," he warned, voice devoid of any positive emotion as he grimaced at the words. To think that his dear cousin, Suzume of all people, would be brought back like this... "We need to warn your group-" His words faded away, suddenly picking up the tale of the drunkard that was talking about a "witch" he had seen in the woods. He felt a chill run down his spine. Suzume being here wasn't just a coincidence then. He looked over at Taliyah and Gabriela, expression serious as he got up from his seat. "I need to see Ayane, now."
  17. Her voice, still sporting the same gentleness from when she was alive. It was hard not to look her way, Ren feeling his resolve cracking as soon as she showed concern for his well being. Her hand...a cold reminder of what had happened to her. It took all his resolve not to lean into the touch. "I did come here alone, yes," he answered, keeping calm even as his heart threatened to beat out of his chest. He wasn't lying, when he said he came alone, but he wasn't telling the whole truth either. "You...what are you doing-" Ah, even when she had mentioned them, the former human had forgotten about his recent company. Of course, it wasn't for long as he noticed Taliyah first when she spoke up, then Gabriela soon after. "You...could say that..." he answered Taliyah, before sputtering as he heard Gabriela's question. He quickly shot that down, shaking his head as he waved his hands in front of him. "I-It's not like that! Oh gods, that would be...please, no," he groaned, composure breaking as his flustered expression was covered by one of his hands. "I-It's...complicated..." he managed to say, not wanting to explain more unless Suzume did so. Suzume... Ren didn't want to think about why she was here, but he was suddenly feeling a lingering dread in the back of his head...
  18. D-Done with him? "Eh? W-What do you mean by that..." he trailed off, cheeks gaining a tinge of color at the implications. He did sober up though, as she brought up her thoughts about family heirlooms. His brows furrowed, his feathery companion sensing his distress before nuzzling against his neck. This time he did not pet him, the oni pursing his lips as he looked down and away from Gabriela. "That may be how you feel, but...it's more than just a useless weapon. I don't know and can't assume the relationship you had with your clan, but I was very close to mine." He looked up then, face smoothing out into a gentle smile. He didn't appear to be upset or angered with Gabriela, simply trying to understand her side of the coin. "I'm sure you have your reasons, but please respect my feelings over this. The wound is still fresh, and I need time to heal." His words were soft, as if he was afraid of his voice wavering if he spoke any louder. Now having said his piece (for now), Ren focused on the matter at hand. "Well, since we're not going to see my dear cousin yet, I can answer any questions or curiosities you have in mind? Maybe have a spot to eat, since I am quite famished-" The next words died in his throat, his attention having drifted just a moment to see around the bar. He hadn't meant to do so, just a slight distraction, but when he did his heart plummeted down to the pit of his stomach. He slowly brought up a shaking hand, covering his mouth as crimson eyes widened, mouth dry She...she should be dead...he saw Ayane cut her down....her own...his... Staying silent, Ren slowly moved away from the two girls, and made his way towards her. His movements were steady, but with a frantic anticipation with every step he took closer to the girl he had thought deceased and buried back in Izuna. It was only when she went to sit down at the bar and turned her back to him that he noticed Tonbokiri. His blood ran cold, fearful of how she obtained it...and... He swallowed, gathered his bearings, and without much to say at the moment he took a seat next to someone he held dear to his heart. Someone he had prayed for to have a peaceful journey to the afterlife. "....Suzume." His voice was just above a whisper, making no scene now as he simply held a neutral expression while facing forward. He felt cold, chilled to the bone.
  19. "Yes, isn't he the cutest-" the former human started, before suddenly realizing the situation he was walking into. Eh... EH?! Ren startled, eyes widening as he was accused by this semi stranger of lies and slander. To prove his connection with Ayane, he would've done so easily with his family weapon... If he still had it. "Y-Yes, your wings are quite lovely miss..." he still couldn't help but notice, and if it were under different circumstances he would've complimented them more, but... He felt his stomach do a flip as the two girls turned against him, not believing his story (which was definitely true!) after he told it. Suppressing a groan, he let out a stressed sigh instead as he tried to stay calm. "Please, ladies, there's no need to cause a commotion," he cautioned, all while Taliyah slammed her claws against the table. It startled Ukogi, ruffling his feathers as angry chirps left him. "I-I would be glad to come with you and prove my familial connection towards Ayane. After all there was nothing to hide, but..." At this point he looked over at the common Yari innocently leaning against the table next to him. He was really, and truly dead. "I...I wanted to at least have some time..." he muttered, before sighing dejectedly and turning back towards the other two. "Ayane has...quite the temper. Even before being turned, she was quite the spirited one," he started, not helping the fond smile appearing on his lips. "If she found out I had foolishly gambled one of our family weapons, I'd have more than Ouka to worry about..." he finished with a nervous chuckle. "That being said, it's understandable that you two would want proof. Just...make sure my death is a swift one," he ended in a more detached tone, already accepting his impending fate as he rose from his seat and took hold of his weapon. "Now...shall we ladies?"
  20. Having recovered considerably, Ren cleared his throat and directed his attention back to Taliyah. "The princess didn't bring a problem with her. Said problem simply changed objectives, and Ayane quickly followed. Most likely to get rid of the problem herself," he explained, placing hand against his chin in thought. "So you say your group is helping this country? From what exactly? Sorry for being ignorant, but there's not much I know about this place. My father-" Quickly changing that line of thought, he tackled the next subject at hand. "So someone from your group knows of our situation. Tell me, what are they like?" he asks, before blinking once more as she brought up another point. "Working together? I doubt that would bode well with the princess, but...Hm, this is a rather strange turn of events." When setting forth to Xensat, Ren only assumed he would meet up with Ayane, get back his weapon (after a thorough beating), and march forth to bring down Ouka before she caused great damage here. He never thought of adding rogue elements into the equation. "Oh, I guess I haven't properly introduced myself," he suddenly says, breaking away from his thoughts to offer a polite smile to them both. "My name is Ren Itou, cousin of Ayane and her personal guard," he says with a polite bow of his head. "And this...is Ukogi!" he says, presenting a lovely checkered pigeon of copper and white that had been resting snugly against the inside of his furred collar. Said bird simply ruffled it's feathers, before looking at the girls and letting out several soft chirps. "He says hello," he mused, gently rubbing a finger against the bird's head, but then...his smile slowly left his face as realization kicked in. "Ah, it...would be best if you didn't tell Ayane that I am here. At least, not yet," he says, on the verge of pleading as he quickly grins at the girls.
  21. Before he could get an answer from the peculiar reptile like demon, Ren couldn't help the startling look once more as another approached them and made herself comfortable. He blinked, the compliment going over his head for now before the rest of her words registered in his brain. His brows furrowed, pursing his lips at this new information about his dear cousin joining some rag tag group while in such an unfamiliar place. Journey? Wh- "Wait, could you explain from the top? What do you mean journey? I don't understand-" he started, before everything else clicked in his head. His face gradually turned a flushed red, not able to articulate his words as he gently waved his hands in front of him. "A-Ah, that's...that's very k-kind of you to s-say that. I am very f-flattered, and I-I'm sure you h-have a very l-lovely singing v-voice...N-Not that your regular v-voice isn't n-nice! It is, I...u-um..." In the end, Ren simply looked away as he hid his mouth behind his hand before running it over his face with a sigh. "Sorry, usually I'm more c-composed than this. You just c-caught me off guard..."
  22. He could still feel the pull from his weapon, always knowing where it was even if apart for long periods of time. Still, as Ren lightly twirled his drink, the group hadn't ventured far yet. They were probably at the edge of the town, counting their supplies before they continued on their way. A sigh left his lips, downing the drink quick before ordering another. Head hanging low, he wondered when and how he'll retrieve Tonbokiri before meeting with- Eh? He startled, a sudden yelp leaving his lips, followed by a curse out of instinct. "Son of a bi-" he snapped in his mother tongue, before stopping midway at who had approached him. Blinking rapidly, the newly turned oni had to make sure that...she shouldn't...how could she know... "Do...how do you know of her?" he asked back cooly, affirming that he knew who Ayane was, but being vague enough about the subject. His eyes narrowed, free hand itching as his Yari stood harmlessly beside him...for now. While he did have the fear of Ayane finding him (and finding out about him gambling away Tonbokiri), he had more fear of what has happened to his cousin and why this person knew of her. He wouldn't live with himself if something had happened to her while in this foreign land.
  23. Well, both of their responses weren't surprising in the least. If anything Vvi expected such reactions. "Well, being alright physically is one thing....mentally and emotionally-" Eh? Was she alright? "Don't worry about me dear. Already took care of that before I contacted you two," she simply said with a wave of her hand before going back to Aliza and Alriana. "We'll talk more when we land, when we're face to face," she adds, before cutting off communication and simply sitting in her machine as she closed her eyes and sighed. One step at a time.
  24. And just like that, the survivors were gone. She didn't feel relief, nor a sense of victory. Being able to think clearly now, she took hold of those stray emotions from earlier and bottled them up. Quite the easy task when your powers revolve around manipulating emotions. "Aliza, Alriana, are you two alright?" Rather than worry about herself, she reached out for the next best thing out there. She just got into amiable terms with them both, it would be a shame if they just up and died on her.
