Dark Nocturne

i have a little questiion for anyone who might have played around with this. i just ordered my copy and 3ds from amazon and am wondering how units who are mele classes do class changed into magic classes do and vise versa? like i want to make serge either a valkyrie or a sage (sucks shes a dracoknight instead of a peg knight cuz she'd be a good dark peg) but i notice she doesnt have much magic in her base class and her str is high, and i also want to make viole a mage and eventually a dark knight. not so much growths but the stats they get in class changing. i ask cuz in shadow dragon/new mystery class changing any melee class into a mage wasnt really worth it cept for shiida, rody and malice(imo) any insight is much appriciated.

im planning to go strategist-dark mage-sage-valkyrie as i want her to be a purly magic unit. and i know valkyries are not usually magic tanks but with the skills from mage and sage im sure she will be pretty useful, plus a pony!!! im also plannin on making olivia my dark Pegasus cuz i really dont like dancers, taimo a dark knight, serg another valkyrie and viole a sage! i loooove mages

how hard is it to train up the dancer girl in this game? can she start melee fighting at the point she joins or would i need a forge? im not really one for dancers cuz in my opinion they tend to get in the way just as often as they help out, but im thinkin of using her as a myrmidon or a dark peg. and also idk if you tried at all but how do dark pegs measure up to other units? like vs dark knight? my god i cant wait for my copy to come in the mail =D

i recently decided to just buy the game and am about to order an import, and idk if you answered this but i just wanna know like does the charger come with the 3ds or do i gotta order a japanese charger too?

one more question lol. when you class change units does thier models completely change? like the 2 mages with the silly hats do they keep those? and so other units classed into a mage, will they get those? also wondering if portraits change altho im pretty sure they dont

i have a question about my unit creation. i noticed you can pick a best and worst stat, does that change your bases or does it change growths possibly? also what did you pick for yours?

ah i see. well then i hope my unit has a decent enough magic growth as i really don't want her to be sub par compared to other mages

no one has any ideas about the growth rates yet? pardon my lack of know how about this but, how do we usually find out about that?

im wondering how the mage and dark mages compare with each other, as im a huge fan of mages and any my unit i make is me but a mage im wondering what mage class is the most powerful. i was considering sage, sorcerer, Valkyrie, or dark peg (i know valks arent usually very powerfull but id rather my mounted mage heal rather than use swords) i tend to always have a very mage heavy party

im thinking about buying this games eu version, my question is does the language barrier hamper the game at all? i was able to play new mystery in Japanese but this game seems to have alot more stuff in it. thank you

i agree with the favoritism thing. i do like ilyana, mostly because i really like mage girls in fire emblems (cuz if i could be any class its mage hehe) she isnt terrible or even bad but i guess it kinda stems from me liking units like that... like how i always use flo in jagged alliance 2 even tho she suuuuuucks but i lvl her up into a decent medic anyway cuz its a challeng. (hope im not the only one here who plays that as its very much like a fire emblem game but with guns

clair is memorable in the fact that she has way better growths than luka, and in fact alot of units on alms side. i looove me some gaiden but growths in that game were crapand luka as far as i remember was not very good

well i agree with othin. if this game doesnt have a release date comeing out soon ill go ahead and buy it in japanese. then either wait for the game to be localized or (if i really must) for a fan translation. most likely if it does get translated it will be around next year like shadow dragon was. tho i9 must say ill be alot less anxious about this game when diablo 3 and dragons dogma come out hehe

im apparently not good with searchin either lol, all i could find was asian ones. but ill ask does the eu one have an english option at all? its the only reason id buy that over the asian one

you could do that and its not a terrible idea, but what i meant is that her mag growth as a mage is 40 and her highest possible str growth is 35 as a palidan. while she is a useful peg knight or myrmidon and since i usually give aura to my unit anyway i half the time reclass her into a mage, and she usually ends up around the same or better than linde. sides i like to take advantage of the reclassing option. dunno how long they are gonna use it and i wanna get m y fill of it, it is a game after all ima have fun with it

i like her in part because she is similar to another faverite of mine, linda from FE4. both thunder, growths are kinda the same, although linda has more of a personality

i see your point.ill just agree to dissagree. ilyana is forever my endgame archsage tho and i havent regretted it yet

not trying to be argumentative... i have just used her alot and never had a problem, or noticed how mages are apparently bad in that game....

i respectfully disagree. i found ilyana soren laura, and even to an extent calil to be very usefull. laura i count as a mage because she has an astronomical magic speed and skill growth and average res like a mage, and she dodges like a boss. ilyana as i said usually capps just about everything for me a few times she was short of capping luck and res.ilyana usually evades every strike and had no trouble killing bosses during GM chapters. to simply say all mages in the game are bad is innacurate and i find a little lazy. if you like physical units better in that game thats fine but alot of mages in this game deserve more than a blanket statement

thanks, i am a big fangirl of ilyana, i i just hate when people bash units i really like in fe when they are good and i dont just favor them.. like my other fav is sonia from gaiden lots of people i know pick dean over her n i think its silly lol

seriously? everyone keeps harping on her speed, but she has a good base speed and soren, who everyone loves only has 5% more speed than her... her magic is good, she has the second best magic growth for any mage. soren has 80% calil has 45% tormod has 40% and his str is higher than mag growth, and bastian has 30%.... ive used her 4 times (all 4 times iv played) and she manages to cap almost everything with only a few stat items and some bonus exp. most speedwings ive given her in a single playthrough were 2. yes i know im a little biased cuz i like mage girls (who doesnt) but im just generally tired of ilyana bashing when frankly she doesnt deserve it. if she has horrible horrible speed then so does soren and bastian... anyone eles like ilyana? i feel alone in my opinion :(

is the other eu version in english? i played fe12 on my ds in japanese, and while i LOVEd it im not really looking forward to playing another game in a language i cant understand while i know id enjoy it much more in english also othin thanks i will keep those orders in mind
