Seteth having a child with one of the other dragon children of Sothis being incest is tricky since they were the first generation of a new species, and at that point it’s either incest or your species just ends.

iirc, its never fully said that seteth's wife was a dragonkin at all, hell considering they met at a church in pre serios embarr i'd say his wife was just a regular human being

So i just finished my first play thru and i came to a certain realization that i wanted to know if anyone else noticed or pondered. As i'm watching the opening cutscene on my new-game+, i see the opening date for this era is 91.

Our characters and our story is set in the year 1980 or 1990 supposedly and a big deal in the game is put on the anniversary coming up celebrating the 1,000th year. That means to say that over 900 years have passed in this game. And one thing that stood out to me just now was the fact that the opening cut-scene had the soldiers still wearing the exact same armor, weapons, traveling via horse back, and so forth. Can we ponder that for a second?

I mean, in my life time alone, technology has advance IMO quite rapidly. Telephones use to be land lines and if you had a mobile one, it was a huge rectangle block. Now we have touch-screen technology. Our automobiles have much more cutting edge driver safety embedded into them. Our medicine science has improved as well as our understanding in all the social sciences (like psychology, sociology, and philosophy). I mean the list goes on. Our civilization has moved forward. Alot....but lets look at the fire emblem world.

...........*pausing to put a huge emphasis on this next sentence for dramatic effect*.....like holy shit, these people are not innovative at all! You mean to tell me they haven't come up with the idea of a plane? A car? They are STILL on horseback? I mean from the days of George Washington till now is less than 300 years. The Wright brothers that were credited with flying the first ever plane were born around 1860. That was less than 200 years ago! Now we have jets, stealth tech for war planes, and so forth.

Rhea is a horrible leader! She led these people for over 900 years and they seem to still be functioning the exact same. As i walk around  monastery, i don't notice much electricity being used. I could go into more detail and discuss this more in-depth but my mind is kinda blown. Like....over 900 years! And they still don't have guns! Well, for all intents and purposes this is a game so of course it is supposed to be fictional. But wow, this is why i don't support games playing with time mechanics. Always turns out unrealistic.

Yes, before anyone points it out, from Marth's era to his descendants of Chrom and Lucina, i get that alot of time passes. Tiki should have commented on how lame their progress has been. Game companies need to stop playing with concepts like time. They fail miserably. But anyways, i digress. If anyone wants to comment on the lack of progress, let me know what you think of their technology and civilization.

fyi, the games set in the year 1180 and 1185, not 1860.

also just a quick question, have you played black eagles/church route?

  3. i'm very biased with my choices but

    Blue lions > Black eagles > Golden deer/Church > Church/Golden deer

i feel like going with Blue lions first heavily impacts the first part of the game since each student is involved in someway, unlike BE and GD, and also it reveals the least about the lore of Fodlan so it can be explored in other routes.

Black eagles as the second choice works because you can see why edelgard did what she did and get some glimpses of TWSITD and what they're up to.

Golden deer as last because it reveals a lot of lore that frankly really does feel like something you should experience last.

I hope there's some twists then, because if Lorenz/Raphael/Ignatz are the best characters I fear for the rest of the cast...

Though gameplay wise I can see it be more interesting, from what we know Leicester is kind of an outsider in the war, so it could definitely be more intriguing.

Lorenz is genuinly a great character from what we've seen so far though...

According to a podcast with USgamer reviewer at the 42:47 mark.

Pretty general without going over what actually is considered good map design. And not from the actual player, but interesting nonetheless.

now im not saying im biased but i knew black eagles were the worst of the 3

The gameplay looks good, but I gotta say that this game is really lacking polish. I'm not a graphics fanatic, but even considering my low standards these models and animations are really, REALLY wonky. I mean, Sylvain's armor has this weird blocky light reflection going on and the battalion animations are awkward as hell. I also noticed some lag with the overworked animations. You'd think IS would have the budget to make this game look and run better considering that Heroes prints money.

    This does not bode well.

the models and animations are pretty good imo, its just the lack of anti aliasing that makes the models look rough

Its a shame they kept slipping through voice lines. From what little I heard I think Ashe is supposed to be Alm in which case there's even more reason for him to be best boi.

I was hoping the Graphics would improve as release neared. They didn't. Its a good thing I'm not a graphics guy but the game looks undeniably ugly.

game looks fine to me, although playing xbc2 alot probaly did change my judgement on what a good looking game should look like

So apparently Bylet does indeed have a voice (at least one per gender): https://www.nintendo.co.jp/switch/anvya/pc/characters/index.html

I guess what remains to be seen is where/when it will be used, but the fact that they put on the site makes me think that maybe Byleth isn't silent after all.

this combined with the calender in hubert's video it really does seem like they're going for persona emblem here
