  1. Maybe an unpopular opinion, but I actually like it when the supports bring up her crush on Chrom - especially if she says she's getting over it. She's obsessed over him for so long, and then is faced with the idea of having to give that up - I think it's natural for someone to be apprehensive about the idea; but that's one thing I love about her supports - they're usually about coming to terms with the fact she's probably never going to get him, and the fact that it wouldn't have been healthy anyway. In fact, if you don't have Cordelia married, and you play the Summer Scramble Event, she actually gets a special conversation with Chrom that REALLY gives her catharsis about the whole situation. When it comes to Cordelia supports, while I find DonnelXCordelia cute, I think VirionXCordelia and LibraXCordelia to be really well done and better for her as a whole personally - plus, someone like Libra siring Severa always came off as interesting to me. But I can see why you like AvatarXCordelia's support chain - while I have yet to play as a Male Avatar, thus missing out Cordelia as a romantic option, I liked the supports she had with the Avatar so much, that I usually end up headcanoning that she and my My!Unit, Lilium, are incredibly close (I know that in this conversation, that really isn't saying much, but it does show how much chemistry Cordelia and the Avatar have as both friends and lovers). I adore Gaius/Maribelle, even if their S-support was a little short imo, I think they work very well. Not to mention, just the idea of Gaius getting caught stealing by someone like, Cordelia or Frederick, and then going on trial and seeing Attorney Maribelle and just being like "Hey, honey" :D
  2. "I made a new dragon friend! His name was...Banta?...Banter?! Wait, what was it...?" Honestly to me this sounds like she made a friend fairly recently, like in the past few days at least (but then again, the fact she's having a hard time remembering his name may say otherwise...) I wonder what a dragon like Bantu would think about Nowi's outfit anyway...He seems pretty protective, so I think he would have some words for her ^^"
  3. It's also possible that it's just genetics screwing her over - like she is more like her mother than her father, but she still retained the blood as sort of a recessive gene? ...It's also possible that the Brand not surfacing on her is a physical manifestation of either her not being worthy of Naga's blood (like, not being able to wield Falchion), or, since she was born in a turbulent time when Ylisse was in a freaking religious war, maybe a physical manifestation of Naga's disapproval of the Ylissian family's actions? I have no idea how powerful Naga is in Awakening, but she does seem to be some sort of dragon spirit or ghost (looking at Tiki from the Future Past DLC), so maybe...? I'd put more faith in the genetics thing, though.
  4. Without taking into account of stats, breeding, or any of the mechanics of the games themselves, which S-Support pairs do you think have the best chemistry and why? I'm a huge sucker for ChromXRobin without taking into account that Robin is an Avatar, because of how much the main story already supports their relationship (regardless of gender), and even though the supports walked into kinda trope-y territory, the way the two played off of each other I thought was really well done (and the S-Support felt very natural imo). But what do you think?
  5. On the topic of Nah, it was actually Nowi who convinced her to take a break: Nah: Oh, darn. It's not here, either. Where can it be? Nowi: ...... Nah: Oh, hello, Mother. Have you seen my dragonstone anywhere? Nowi: D-dragonstone? Er, NO! Not a clue! I have no idea. Nope. None whatsoever. Nah: ...You're a terrible liar. Nowi: B-but I'm NOT lying! Ha ha. Ah ha...ha? Nah: *Sigh* All right, Mother. What did you do with it? Nowi: Nothing! ...I, er, just decided to look after it, is all. Nah: Give it back! Honestly, how am I supposed to train without it? Nowi: Oh, training, schmaining! Let's have some fun instead. Nah: I don't want to have fun. I want to get stronger. If I don't, I'll never help win this war or earn my place in this army. Nowi: Er... Nah: If I'm not helping people, then what's the point of even having me around? No real human wants to be friends with a half person who can't look after herself. Nowi: Is that what you're worried about? But I'm here—and I'm a manakete! You don't have to prove something to the humans to be here with us. Manakete, taguel, human—everyone in this army is equal and in it together! Nah: You truly believe that? Nowi: I do. And more importantly, you're still very young for a manakete. You can't overuse the dragonstone. It's far too powerful for one of your age. Nah: It's true that after a day of training I tend to feel terribly weak... Nowi: I'm going to give it back to you, but I don't want to see you hurting yourself. You must promise me to only use it during actual battle. Do you hear me? Nah: All right, Mother. I swear to use it more responsibly from now on. This is basically the whole B support, in where Nowi acts mature because she's concerned about the well being of her daughter - if Nowi knows at least one thing about Manaketes, it's how dangerous their dragon form is to their mental health.
  6. Pffft Charlotte - Ultimate Pimp: Dethroning the Tactician and the Dragon Prince(ss)
  7. Maybe it was a different dragon all together? Not Bantu, but someone else? Yarne makes comments to Nah that there are other Manaketes around, even if they are very rare. Yarne: Yeah, until you turn into a dragon! Then you're nine times my size! You know what? This is dumb. We're not the same at all! Plus, there are other manaketes out there if something happens to you! So quit talking like you have any idea what it's like!
  8. ImissedLucina'sbirthdaybutIwon'tmissthis HAPPY BIRTHDAY PRECIOUS CHILD MORGAN
  9. Ehhhhh I love both Manakete's and Wyvern Knights/Lords, but I think I like Manakete's just a little more - sorry Cherche ;-; I'm also really into Pegasus Knights and their promotions, but tbh I'd just love to see a game where a significant portion of the playable characters are different types of Manaketes (and they could each have their own strengths and weaknesses when dealing with other types of units) although this makes the ultimate challenge in this case anyone with a Wyrmslayer, Falchion, or Book of Naga type thing x.x I don't know I just...really like dragons and Manaketes ;-;
  10. That's true too - I guess I'm just really into the headcanon that she's secretly Divine Dragon royalty, but because her parents were killed, she doesn't know about it... It'd be super cute though if it was just a Manakete thing - hair accessories for everyone!
  11. Considering that Nowi, Tiki, and Nah all share the same general shape for the dragon forms, are Tiki and Fae really teh only Divine Dragons? I know it was never confirmed in Awakening what species of dragon Nowi was (heck the official manga had her shooting ice breath), but she does share a lot of design similarities to Tiki; and Nah shares a lot of the same powers, being able to hear Naga, and Naga!Tiki in the Future Past DLC in the best ending. And as for Nowi not being an important Manakete to the plot...yeah, tbh, but Tiki sort of took that role away from Nowi anyway (even coming in later in the game like other Manaketes).
  12. Honestly it really does? Not to mention even the most motherly and protective people in the army aren't likely to say anything about her outfit seeing as she gets really defensive about how young she looks, and with people like, well, Tharja in there, they might assume it was her choice to put on the outfit, rather than the likely scenario of her not understanding the implications and getting used to it. It makes me wonder though if Gregor took pity on her not just because she looked like a child about to be sacrificed to the Grimleal (and generally just in trouble), but because he might have understood what the outfit meant...? (He DID say to Chrom he killed his previous employers...) Also can I just bring up Nowi's crown real quick? Wasn't that something similar to what Tiki, essentially a Divine Dragon Princess, had? Either Nowi parents were up there, or the slavers knew what she was and were mocking her linage...(or again, freakshow thing, showing it off)
  13. Oh yeah, you're right - for some reason I remember her saying that she said that in Tharja's support? And after rereading some stuff, I guess it's likely she never knew any other Manaketes? (Especially her support with Henry when he makes the illusion)
  14. Well I mean, she might not have known the implications of the outfit, per say - while she seems fairly knowledgeable and mature, some of the nuances of human culture seem to fly over her head sometimes. Actually Nowi said in Tharja's support that she's "from the West", and, I don't know WHERE this was mentioned, but that she was "raised in a hidden village with other dragons" for the majority of her life, and that she got captured by humans (somewhat) recently when she noticed the movements of the Grimleal - so while she's not from Plegia, I don't think she'd have the mind to change her clothes since dragons in FE never seemed too particularly attached to what they wear. EDIT: Other than the stuff of her not being from Plegia, I have no idea what I'm talking about
  15. Okay okay before I go on, I know the actual reason for Nowi being dressed up like that is because loil bait of course, and do I feel that people have every right to feel disturbed by a seemingly little girl running around in fetish/bondage/whatever that was supposed to be clothing; heck, Nowi's one of the characters (next to Camilla) who gets her outfit redrawn the most - again, kinda understandably. But awhile ago I got reminded of a part of Nowi's backstory that may give an in-game explanation to her outfit. Nowi was captured by humans and made into a slave. It was said that she transformed for them as an "entertainer", which would play into the idea that they gave her that outfit to wear as either a freakshow sort of thing, or perhaps, there was more "entertaining" going on with her many slave owners than just with the transforming. I mean... https://vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/fireemblem/images/4/4e/Nowi_stomach_concept_art.png/revision/latest/scale-to-width-down/185?cb=20160503225632 Look at that outfit.
  16. Nice to meet you too! Welcome to Serenes Forest!! ^u^
  17. This is why I adore Nowi. It's these brief flashes of true maturity that make her really stand out to me - yeah, as a Manakete she doesn't mature as quickly as humans do, but she's clearly aware of the nuances of human society and self-aware of how she comes off, so while she may still be considered a child by dragon standards, she's definitely mature by human standards, and I love how she makes that clear in moments like these ^^
  18. Ohhhhhhhhhh right I know who that is I'm just used to him being called Kevin ELEvin I forgot he had an actual last name
  19. MHA always had really cool powers imo But uh... What's Keven Levin???
  20. I've never played Advanced Wars myself, but it looks really interesting - I think with a gameplay system like Advance Wars', you could convey the idea of a large scale war better than you could with Fire Emblems; Fire Emblem does better with small-to-medium skirmishes imo, while Advance Wars could be full scale conflicts. I could see Wyvern Knight platoons taking place of large planes, and maybe some new sort of mountable animals as the military boats (like hippocampi?) Or just...boats you know (idk I think it would be cool to have hippocampi in FE at least...) But honestly? As cool as it'd be to see a FE game in the style of Advance Wars, with how popular FE is right now, I could see IS just being able to straight up revive their other big series - the interest is clearly there! And as long as FE Switch covers most of the damage (if it does well, you know), they wouldn't lose too much in trying to bring the Advance Wars IP back in the spotlight. ...Then again, they may not want to compete with themselves by putting out TWO very similar SRPGs, but who knows?
  21. Charlotte: *Marries Ryoma, Hinoka, Takumi, Sakura, Xander, Camilla, Leo, Elise, Azura AND Corrin without any of the others realizing it* All according to plan
  22. ^^^ Agreed! Not to mention, I'm not sure where it was mentioned, but I'm pretty sure she game to Ylisse because she noticed the activity of the Grimleal - which immediately tells me she has a sense of duty, contrary to popular belief within the army; this also explains WHY she joins your army beyond just wanting protection.
  23. Yeah but didn't Corrin spend most of their childhood in Nohr? I.e. a place that probably wouldn't want him to find out about their dragon heritage? (Garon mentioning that he only kidnapped Corrin to have them die in Hoshido with Ganglari) You could argue Mikoto or Anankos gave them those clothes, but wouldn't they be too small by the time Corrin could actually where them? Also I'm not sure there are "kinds of dragons" in the traditional sense, since I'm 99% sure the Records Hall mentions only twelve dragons, and the rest were just humans that formed a blood pact with said dragons - Corrin is weird in their universe for being directly descended from Anankos.
  24. Okaaaaay make something half-decent out of a character you hate... Peri's already been done to death, and Fates in general, but I didn't see a Charlotte Emblem! (basically my second lead favorite playable character in Fates) Charlotte Emblem: As a lowborn, down-on-her-luck peasant with no money to your name and even less reputable ways to get it, it's your job to sweet talk mostly men into giving you whatever you want. The goal of the game isn't to fight, although you may need to do that occasionally, and if you do, you have to hide it from the others around you: it's to kiss up to nobles by doing them favors or just generally being an over sexualized lady until they give you want you want: money, fame, status, and then join the army anyways because why not shoot everything you've built up to at this point in the foot???? (Ik she was just trying to get close to Prince/ss Corrin, but still, she didn't have to risk exposing her true colors like that by joining an a r m y) As for non-playable characters, you could do Mikoto Emblem: You just die. That's it. That's all you were good for. Oh and being a transparent Emmeryrn bootleg, that too. ...Okay if you really wanted a game out of it, it could be like some weird sort of tarot card prediction thingy? Heavily story focused as you predict your future and try to run your kingdom idk Excellius Emblem: Spy, manipulate, and turn anyone and everyone into meat shields for yourself in this incredibly realistic weasel simulator! And then die. And to top it off...: Clive Emblem: Learn the true meaning of leadership as you shove your responsibilities onto a confirmed seventeen-year-old. Nearly lose both your sister, and your wife with your poor tactical planning skills, and drive your (admittedly douche-y) comrades to treachery with your woefully thought out decisions! A resource management game with implied combat in the background because you don't do anything ...I may have gotten a bit too salty with this tbh...
