  1. Should we end up fighting Garon, I'd like to see him use something to similar to FE4's emperor class. (Able to wield all of the weapons, with very impressive stat caps)
  2. I'll pick M!Kamui and stick with him in subsequent playthroughs. I'm not really interested in messing around with F!Kamui.
  3. Right, I think I might have messed up at that part. Also, while most of the female characters do survive that event, that doesn't stop them from being able to be killed during gameplay before that event, rather than retreating. (The generation 2 characters have worse substitute characters just in case their mothers died)
  4. Some villains you do fight multiple times in FE4, but they all die. In generation 1, there are 4 units who retreat from battle, (Finn, Quan, Ethlyn, and Deidre), but that's for story reasons. In generation 2, there is one unit who retreats from battle, and that's for very important story reasons. (Julia)
  5. I'm probably wrong about this, but something about Takumi's design, personality, and role in the trailers makes me suspect that he'll be the first of the Hoshido siblings that you'll have a really important fight with and kill (if you end up killing the siblings of the route you don't choose), if you pick the Nohr route... Leon, being Takumi's counterpart for the Nohr route would probably have a similar fate. (It does bug me that Leon is a promoted class, Dark Knight, while Takumi is un-promoted)
  6. Meh, I don't really care much if marriage comes back. If it does though, no kids, and perhaps give Kamui's S rank partner some dialogue every once in awhile during story cutscenes.
  7. Suzukaze is the ninja that'll side with you regardless of the path you choose, correct? If so I'm extremely pleased as IMO he has the best design out of the Ninja's. Also that Blonde Axe Fighter is looking like he'll be a character with a huge ego, or be psycho. (Judging by his facial expression) I like him. EDIT: Literally ninja'd by VincentASM posting character bios.
  8. We've been brining children, dancers, and unarmed clerics into battles since the early days of the series, so I have no issues with caretakers who have likely been trained to protect the player character and themselves being brought into battle. I'm actually quite fond of Joker's design, and I like Felicia's as well.
  9. I'm liking that weapons can buff and nerf stats. What I'm wondering is how significant these stat changes will be in the lategame, as if we end up with Awakening or even RD's stat caps, -2 for strength, or -4 for defence won't make much of a difference. Although, on the Nohr route I wouldn't be surprised if it was extremely unlikely to ever reach your stat caps. Also, I'm liking the new weapon triangle.
  10. Perhaps... IS really want to make this game all about choice, so I wouldn't be surprised if we see more significant choices, or if we don't/
  11. Aside from removing Galeforce, (unless they give to Snipers or something like that) I'd be happy if most of Awakening's skills returned. Some skills that weren't in Awakening that I'd like back are: Adept, Resolve, and Steal. (Although, without weight stealing is harder to balance.)
  12. Takumi has a pretty good design, but he stands out the least to me out of all of the royal siblings from both Nohr and Hoshido. I hope he's a good unit, and I hope that the boss fight he'll have on the Nohr route (The cutscene with him and his bowmen has him yelling at you for being a traitor) is a tough fight.
  13. I'm definitely never going touch Phoenix mode, but it's there for people who are interested in it, I guess. It seems a bit redundant to have Phoenix mode when there is Casual mode, especially if Casual mode retains it's battle saves. Ah well, it's not like I'll ever have to touch the modes. Definitely jumping in on the Nohr route, with Lunatic Classic.
  14. Perhaps, but I'm going off of the assumption that the color represents the weapon's position on the weapon triangle.
  15. Never going to touch the mode, but I do think it's a very redundant addition with Casual mode, and the allowing of battle saves in Casual mode.
  16. Well, since Aqua was kidnapped as well, I'd like it if Hoshido kidnapped her first, and then Nohr took Kamui in retaliation/tried to take her back but ended up with Kamui instead. It'd be a bit more interesting if Hoshido were the aggressors in this case, IMO.
  17. I'm never going to touch Phoenix mode, but I honestly don't mind the lack of weapon usage. As long as they limit the really good weapons (like one brave sword in the game, for example), I think it'll be fine. It'll be like FE4 all over again, but without having to pay money repairing weapons. I'd love it if Marx was voiced by Kyle Hebert in the English release.
  18. If they are good characters, then I'd totally be down for that. I honestly could care less about the gender of the main character(s) in any sort of media, I just care if they are well written.
  19. Oooh, I'd love it if the Devoted or the Dawn Brigade theme got remixed into the arena theme, should arenas return on the Nohr route.
  20. Meh, being awakening-like is enough to move units, so I'm betting their giving Nohr so much stuff and advertising its features more than Hoshido to try to see how a more classical Fire Emblem will be received by the fanbase at large, and if they can convince a large chunk of the newer fans to try that out. I'm going to enjoy both versions, but unless Hoshido or the third path really blow me away/Nohr ends up being disappointing, I'll end up playing through Nohr more than the other paths.
  21. The story translation is basically complete. The only things untranslated are the menus, weapon descriptions (the weapon names are translated however), and terrain names. Also there is one gamebreaking bug with the heroes on chapter 23, which is really bad as one of those heroes is a recruitable character.
  22. Sorry if this has been posted before (I don't want to look through the whole thread), but I found this amusing:
  23. The split is happening because after Awakening IS had the time to essentially make 3 games, as mentioned in this interview. We're getting 3 games for the price of 2. A lot of people prefer the classical style of Fire Emblem, myself included. Not being able to grind really forces more thought on what your team is going to be. That's fine, but it's looking more like IS wanted to make 3 games of differing styles, instead of it being a pure cash grab. Personally, I'm willing to support the 3 games for the price of 2 this time around.
  24. Wow, the Nohr path is really looking a lot more interesting to me than the Hoshido path. I'll definitely play every path, but from the information I'm hearing it seems that the Nohr path will be the one I will end up doing the most playthroughs of. Multiple objectives, no world map, more complex story, etc. Hoshido is looking to be outclassed here.
  25. Oh boy, back to this song and dance again, are we? I've stated my thoughts on the matter before, and I will state them again. I think there is nothing wrong with including casual mode. For those who aren't fond of the mode (myself included), classic mode is still here and will always remain in the games. Casual just makes the game much more accessible, which is good for the community as a whole, and ensures the series survival. Don't even spew the nonsense that a casual player's enjoyment on Awakening's normal casual mode isn't as valuable and can't be equal to enjoyment when playing through Radiant Dawn on hard mode, for example. I enjoy the tense, more strategic atmosphere RD hard mode creates, but the casual players may enjoy the more relaxed feeling casual gives them, or they may even feel as tense. People who play casual mode get the true experience, just like those who like to jump in on modes like lunatic classic.
