  1. Soren has a lower base level and nabs you another staff user, so if you're interested in training him I usually argue for early promotion. Gatrie's unquestionably the better unit, but if you want to train Soren then that's really the best way to go about it. As for celerity, I don't really think either of them want it too much. I'd point you towards giving it to Haar, Reyson, Titania or Ike. Soren's better off running Discipline for quick staff rank increases, and Gatrie enjoys Provoke, Daunt or a passive healing skill.
  2. Right could be Elincia, and the possibility that Geoffrey, her and Skrimir could all show up on the same banner is terrifying for my 2-orb stockpile.
  3. Completely agree, I might really dislike some aspects of season 2 but they took what they did and turned it into something interesting instead of just trying to ignore it. Plus, there are some characters introduced in season 2 that you absolutely have to see before 3 and 4.
  4. In general, they do a pretty damn good job of progressing the world to an industrial setting. The ATLA comics go more in depth into how this transition occurs, I'd suggest checking them out. I'm very pleased to say he's only the second best villain in Korra. Still really well done though, his confrontation with Korra at the Aang statue is one of the best scenes in Avatar period. Same goes for that ending scene with him. Being more of a threat with his ideals and rhetoric than his physical prowess (even though he's definitely super strong) makes him a perfect initial villain for an avatar who only wants to solve stuff with her fists. Her design is top tier, and her voice actress does a great job too, but one of the things that stood out to me in season 1 was her expressiveness. They really did a great job of making her faces and body language feel dynamic. I also just generally enjoy characters like her who act first and think later, since a lot of the time it leads to them getting hard punished and forced into growing from their rashness. Not quite as versatile as Appa, since she doesn't exactly have flight going for her, but animal guides are pretty much always super helpful (as they should be). Korra has the added bonus of having a lot more adult characters that they go in-depth with. Most people I talk to hail Tenzin as the best character in the show, and I can't say I blame them. His grappling with Aang's legacy is an excellent approach to his character, and JK Simmons absolutely helps with bringing him to life. Once again, the majority of the adult cast is outstanding. I'm sure I could gush for hours about most of these characters, but you probably already know what she's about, judging by this. Who would have thought that a concept that only appeared in two episodes of Avatar would become a central plot point in Korra? Not that I'm complaining at all, though. Bloodbending always has been and always will be chilling. I'm glad they repurposed it. For those who aren't aware, Korra wasn't supposed to go past 1 season. This is why this season ends pretty neatly, with the majority of characters seeing closure in their small arcs, and probably why this scene was crafted to feel as meaningful as it was. That being said, Korra was treated like crap by Nickelodeon from this point onwards, and a lot of coorporate meddling and near-cancellations made it very difficult for them to plan out a cohesive story while still maintaining a sense of finality each time they thought the episodes they were making would be the last ones. It doesn't go unnoticed in the show, as there are a couple noticable dips in quality, but all the same, when Korra is good, it's really good. The only other things I'd mention at this point would be choreography and music. Bending in ATLA was very stylistic, with each element feeling distinct, but Korra changes that up a little bit by introducing a more rough pro-bending style that's less stylized but can adapt to facing plenty of obstacles. It also makes a lot of sense that fighting styles would change now, since the nations have come together in a way they never did before and they've shared techniques and such. That being said, most of the older characters still display the type of styles that you'd be used to from ATLA, so there's fun to be had with both. Regardless, the new, almost MMA-like choreography does give way to a lot of great scenes that you probably would have only gotten a taste of in ATLA from Ty Lee. As for the music, the soundtrack is undoubtedly better than ATLA's, and I mostly attribute that to the fact that the music in Korra feels a lot less like background noise. I'm sure you noticed the jazziness of most songs in Republic City, but the credits theme of Korra is so serene I could fall asleep to it. If you're looking for scenes that specifically put the soundtrack to good use in season 1, I'd point you back to Korra's initial departure from the South Pole. Alright, if you've made it this far down, congratulations, and I'll just leave you with what most people have already said to finish off: Korra isn't perfect, but it's absolutely worth a second glance for anyone who's willing. And for those who have only seen season 1, the best is still yet to come.
  5. I'm only really gonna cover act 1 right now but I might come back to it later and add part 3 and 4. Nolan/Leonardo Grants each of them Avoid, Attack and Def. It's an easy support to build and what it has over Nolan/Edward is that it doesn't involve Edward. Leonardo at the very least can chip from a distance without missing. He won't be stepping on Nolan's toes like Edward will, and Edward definitely can't tank in any part of the game. Bowgun bros for life. Nolan gets a forged iron axe in 1-4 and passes it on to Jill once he wields steel axes without penalty. He usually gets beastfoe in part 3 and steals cancel from Leo. Leonardo shouldn't really be eating any resources. As long as he gets to level 10 he'll be able to promote and use crossbows, which is more than enough for him for part 3. Volug/Aran Def and Avoid for each of them. Aran can hold down the fort while Volug builds up his gauge, and it's slightly faster for each of them than they would be with Jill or Zihark. Volug gets the energy drop to allow him to one shot fire mages without a counterattack. It also helps him one round cats in part 3. He usually grabs renewal for self sustaining. Aran gets the first seraph robe, discipline and a forged Iron lance in 1-4. So long as he levels speed on his first map or early in his second map he'll be okay. Jill/Zihark Still Def and Avoid. God knows they'll need it in part 3. Jill sometimes gets the second seraph robe and usually gets the dracoshield. She needs a lot of investment and doesn't usually see a whole lot of output until part 4, but she's worth the investment nonetheless. Zihark grabs paragon for part 1 and can get to a position to be an early trueblade pretty early on in part 3. If Jill doesn't get the seraph robe then it goes to him for survivability and helping him reach his caps for BXP. Once Zihark reaches tier 3 he usually grabs resolve, although that does make him a terror to fight as an enemy when playing 3-E. Nihil and Parity exist, though, so it's not impossible.
  6. Believe it or not, I've actually run something like this before called FE7 7 mode. I was only allowed to have 7 units alive at one time, and I would spin a wheel whenever a new unit joined to see who among the living would be replaced (the new unit would be added to the rng pool so there was a chance of a new unit being forced to die immediately). It was hell during the earlygame, namely the merlinus gaiden, but it got really interesting later on when I had to train up weaker units just so I'd have enough bodies to go around. Bartre was the only unit that joined early that made it through the whole game. Overall a fun ruleset, and be sure to dread the Rath/Isadora/Heath chapter. 3 devastating wheel spins in one chapter. Edit: Whether it was obvious or not, these 7 units do not include any game over conditions.
  7. What the title says. I'm putting together a little funds guide and can't seem to get an exact number for this from the internet.
  8. Phoenix Wright, because he offers the most unique playstyle out of every other rep and is arguably the most iconic character of them all. Bringing him in also offers the opportunity for an easy sell for the next entry in the series on switch. The original trilogy has already sold pretty well on it, after all. Then there's the stuff like a courthouse stage, and all of the amazing music/remixes, and the general flair that Wright brings with him. Dante and Monster Hunter to me are just not as interesting, and someone like Amaterasu just doesn't have as much of a legacy in gaming as Wright.
  9. 1: 4/10 2: 3/10 3: 10/10 4: 9/10 5: 7/10 6: 6/10 7: 4/10 8: 3/10 9: 1/10 Rogue 1: 7/10 Solo: 8/10 Clone Wars: 10/10 Rebels: 6/10 Mandalorian: 9/10 And I'll throw in video games too since they're worth mentioning. Fallen Order: 8/10 Battlefront 2: 10/10 Lego Star Wars: 10/10
  10. As someone who plays DBFZ avidly I can say that the graphics that ArcSystemWorks can put out would be great for a FE fighting game.... However- a 3 on 3 fighting game doesn't make that much sense for fire emblem. I could see a 2v2 game (Blazblue Crosstag being the most recent example) to better match the pair up concept. I don't much care for story or OCs. Especially considering how warriors went nobody should expect much. As for characters, I'd much rather trade having no special costumes for having more fighters in general. Crosstag again does this pretty well with giving every character a set of the same basic alt colors, and giving each individual character some specific color sets that have some significance to the character or a reference to other characters (hell, even smash does this). There are currently 39 characters in DBFZ, with 15 of those being DLC and more DLC to come, so here is my roster of 39 (I'm not going to try and figure out who would and wouldn't be dlc). Infantry Swords: Marth, M!Byleth, Ike, Lyn, Alm, Ryoma Sword Cavs: Eliwood, Xander, Sigurd Sword Fliers: Elincia, Ashnard Infantry Lances: Ephraim, Dimitri, Azura Lance Cavs: Camus Lance Fliers: Caeda, Tsubasa Infantry Axes: Hector, Edelgard Axe Cavs: Titania Axe Fliers: Minerva, Camilla Archers: Takumi, Claude Daggers: Sothe Anima Mages: M!Robin, Arvis, Celica, Sanaki Light Mages: Micaiah, Linde Dark Mages: Leo, Gharnef, Lyon Dragons: Tiki, F!Corrin, Duma Laguz: Tibarn, Ranulf
  11. Marth, Ike, Robin and Edelgard sound good if only for proper representation of the series. Marth has the older games/general series legacy covered, Ike represents the series' refinement, Robin represents the series' resurgence/evolution, and Edelgard represents modern FE. And none of them will have a similar playstyle, which helps.
  12. None of the Crimean Knights or their friends are in yet. No Geoffrey, Kieran, Makalov, Astrid, Marcia, Danved, Devdan, Calil, Largo, Lucia, Bastian or Renning. It's criminal that such a huge part of the game still doesn't have representation.
  13. Oh boy... FE3H: Ingrid Dragonball Fighterz: Trunks (yes, I want more swordfighters) The Jackbox Party Pack 3?!!!.... pass? Tetris 99: A tetris block, unironically one of my most wanted characters. Pokemon Sword: Froslass Xenoblade Chronicles 2: Morag Phoenix Wright Trilogy: Franziska Von Karma ft. a whip tether grab. Pokemon Let's Go Eevee: Finally, a way for me to shoehorn in Alolan Ninetales. Mario Oddysey: uhhhh, the Bass player in Pauline's band. Astral Chain: Akira BOTW: Mipha Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: Crystal Splatoon 2: The Octoling Dragonball Xenoverse 2: Another Dragon Ball character? SSBlue Vegeta, I guess. Blazblue Crosstag Battle: Weiss Schnee. Never thought I'd see the day. Civ VI: Teddy Roosevelt Hyrule Warriors: Lana Octopath: Ophilia
