  1. do you think the game is worth a full playthrough and purchases just from a story perspective?
  2. I never considered Gaiden as a possibility! do you think it would do best as an episodic series or one long film? also sacred stones has a lot of interesting moments and has episodic pacing so maybe, there is a lot of things going on with the radiant series, so the pacing would be all over the place, I was thinking an Awakening series would alternate between the OG timeline and the apocalyptic future in like flashbacks, with FE7 the biggest challenge would be maintaining only plot-crucial moments and characters as many chapters wouldn't warrant there own episodes plus the shift in focus from Lyn to Eliwood would be a big challenge, Geneology has so much going on, it feels like it's challenging you to maintain composure in the middle of grand battles and dramatic scenes, makes you really feel like a tactician, I recently watched someone else olay it and it felt really tense from the . audiences perspective
  3. characterization does get hard when the cast is so vast, that's part of why there's support conversation, a lot of characters might have to be relegated to cameos, which would suck Gen1 of geneology only has twenty, many of which are shared in thracia
  4. ever notice how a few factions in the fire emblem series seem to be like homages to real-world cultures? for example, the Sacaen planes people in fe7 almost feel like a less warlike version of the Mongol steppes people, as well as some planes-region indigenous American tribes, fighting from horseback, living nomadic lives in teepee-like tents, praising nature, living in small groups guided by a cheif, such a dayan the silver wolf, other groups such as the Chon-Sin in Awakening seen to be modeled after feudal cultures, (Say-Ris support with Robin expands upon her culture) and the feroxy people i think are supposed to be like the Romans, building walls to keep barbarians out, splitting into east and west, holding gladiatorial matches, any others you can think of:? i've been told geneology makes a lot of nods to nordic culture as well as the crusades, and then there's mythology, such as the 8 legends referencing medieval French folklore as well as Arthurian legends, anything else i'm missing?
  5. I never played through fates in it's entirety but of what i did play, the characters seem very two-dementional generic anime, with a Shakespearean "Waring houses" plot that never really stuck with me, it didn't seem poorly written or devised or anything, i just don't dig those archetypes, I also felt awakenings biggest draw was it's large and diverse cast, it's glad to hear someone agrees
  6. Has anybody seen the two episode fire emblem anime/OVA? well my question is if they were to make a sequel of sorts, which game would be best suited to a television/film interpretation, I think a "radiant" movie would be cool, that game has real cinematic edge, and a pretty strong plot, while awakening would make a better television series as it feels more episodically written, Fire Emblem 7 is so dramatic it reminds me of a Wagnerian opera (Is that a word?) I've also heard people compare the dark and complex plot of Geneology to that of game of thrones, though that one might have to come in at least two separate parts with possibly a third for thracia 776, i dunno anyone have thoughts on this?
  7. So I'm 8 chapters in and I still haven't been able to access support convos, I know this hack has them, just try as I might i can't view them threw regular means
  8. For me (of the ones I've played): Shadow Dragon/Mysteries of the Emblem: Navarre I guess? Genealogy: Dierdre or Beowolf Binding Blade: Sue, Karel (The whole redemption arc is very cool, they explored it in depth in Elibian Nights) Blazing Sword: Matthew, Erk, Nino, Lyn, Hector (The cast is one of my favorite parts of this game, also not to spoil anything but the relationship between Will, Rebecca & Dart is top notch) Sacred Stones: Colm, Joshua (He has a weird "Count of Monte Cristo" prince in hiding thing going) Ross, Lyon (OK he's not technically in the main cast but give me a break) Awakening: Olivia, Lon Qu, Henry, Owain, Inigo, Priam (I prefer the second gen characters in this game weirdly enough)
  9. that's actually a good point, his character is that of a leader, trying to maintain strength despite his youth an inexperience trying to maintain an ere of confidence, thanks man, you added some perspective to the discussion you do have a point that his characterization was most likely limited do to the experimental nature and roy among others would certainly benefit from a remake, also something i never considered is that roy is to my knowledge the youngest of the Fire Emblem protagonists (How old is Micaiah from FE 10) and thus his base stats reflect his inexperience, which is interesting from a game design perspective, I think that Fe6 was an odd title for the franchise you know? it was on a new engine, it was slightly more kid-friendly being on the GBA and ot was the first one Shozo Kaga had no involvement in, as a result it has some balancing issues and a story that feels almost like a reinterpretation of the first Fire Emblem, and doesn't age well, however it provides a unique experience to the series, and having roy a little weaker early on provides an edge to the early tutorial based mission, I heard it also takes some story elements from the scraped N64 game, which is unrelated to tier ring saga (?) I dunno, thanks for the insight
  10. I love Fire Emblem Bloodlines, the spritework is great, plus there's a pupper and that's just all right by me
  11. why did they choose dorcas though? he's such a normal benign dude, isn't there a guy who actually was poisoned? was it Lyns uncle?
  12. Boy Roy is kind of the worst lord isn't he? from a character perspective, he's very generic, he's just sort of a noble, unconflicted good guy prince, with no strong motivations save for honor and duty and yeah it's probably because the game was never localized, that would be a fine counter-argument until you consider that stats wise he's bottom tier until his own game until receiving the sword of seals, anybody have similar complaints about the other protagonists? certainly not Ike or Lyn, Lucina, or Seliph, from a character perspective the original version of Marth is comparably flat but at least he's useful in battle, and usually the writers will use the support system as a way to provide exposition and flush out the characters, a great idea, but, i'm not sure to what extent it helps roy, shannas is good from a characterization standpoint, but of the handfull i've read i know Roy pressures himself to be a good leader, to act honorably, and to be a great warrior maybe i just don't like him, i don't know, he's great in smash though...
  13. thanks man, i really like the look of it, the best facests of the old-school shozo kaga stuff and the gba games, i'm not very good with code but anything I can do to help, i'm game
  14. hey still looking for someone to help translate?
  15. i think it must have been a glitch as Lyn no longer has a sword skill, i think i should just wipe my save and restart
  16. oh no man just want supports mostly, if i have a problem with difficulty there's a balance patch but i've played the harder shozo kaga ones and did ok, so i'll just grind, thanks
  17. i can't find any sealed sword cheats that will work on my emulator. any advice?
  18. oh and ninos bit is in the bonus room, so it's not a big deal
  19. no, man i'm running the most recent version, perhaps it just hasn't been finished? Looks like a recent edition so maybe i'll just check back if arch and the guys update the patch, and yeah i managedto kill off the thieves, thank naga for florina, thanks man
  20. your game is breathtaking but it's always crashing, in particular when a chest is open in raths tale and in ninos bonus story, any advice?
  21. Does anyone have functional cheats for an english patched version of sealed sword?
