Honestly I don't think the future games need new characters, except maybe the other Cipher characters via DLC like in Shadows of Valentia, I would welcome it very much. Fe6 could add Tiana and Al via DLC since the game have a sword and staff with their names so why not, and maaaybe an avatar being Mark's child but I don't think avatar is necessary, and as far I know this community, some fans would riot. Sacred Stones could add a bard and one or two new units IF they decide to make Eirika and Ephraim routes simultaneously playable, otherwise new units aren't needed. As for Arachnea, proper supports would do wonders for that game. It would be hell to pay all the voice acting because the cast is gigantic but if they ever remake Marth games again, this is the first thing they need to focus and plus avoid adding any new character. New units were created to be in SOV because the cast was relatively small and story was barebones so they needed new NPCs to tie the plot, even if it wasn't done perfecly. Jugdral, Elibe and Tellius have already gigantic and solid casts that just need some fleshing out. Sacred Stones has a smaller cast but it's ok as it is as well.

The avatar now can have a harem. Children units return and if they remarry they will still unlock the children paralogues. Like in Persona the partners will fight each other because of jelousy system, so if you give more attention or gifts to just one of them things will get messy. If the marriage is too unhappy that a character is constantly angry, they will ask divorce and leave the army. You can also go the the sauna with all your husbandos and waifus. Actually the sauna is exclusive only to members of your harem.

I agree completely with this. Some people have a fixed narrative of how love, attractiveness or marriage should work but it functions differently for every person. Some people can decide to marry in months, or be in an arranged marriage, while others wait years, and a lot aren't even interested in settling at all. I said "no" because I think four conversations is not enough to establish realistically any relationship, romantic or not. But this is a video game with mechanical limitations, so the details of the relationships are left for the fanbase to complete with fics headcanons; or extra official material to explore the most popular relationships through novels, cd dramas, spin offs, etc.. Overall I'm honestly satisfied with how supports works, it's more than what most games without fixed pairings provide. Not to mention that Fire Emblem has a huge playable cast.

Honestly no. But the supports give the tone, the basic script of the relationship, it's quite obvious that a couple or even friends didn't talk only four times in the game. Most of the development happen off screen.

I agree, it's a poor decision. But I think avatar exists as a -cheap- momentary self insert. Avatars have a background, standard name and appareance, but they still want to provide the gamers the experience to role play, especially the casual gamers that won't overthink details and won't engage in "canon wars"

I think Byleth is the chosen one to represent Three Houses because picking either Dimitri, Edelgard or Claude would piss a lot of fans, so Byleth is the "neutral" choice.

Female. Only because there's a lack of good female lords THAT aren't sidelined, outshined or treated in a bad light. I'd rather though, to have a game with a solo female lord - like Chrom or Marth, or two female lords - like Seliph and Sigurd. Because, after all, avatar's gender is never fixed and always open to discussion, regardless if one gender is default or more popular. Ps: I know that Robin and Kris are lords in Chrom and Marth's games, but they are avatars, so their gender is open to discussion.

I agree that reducing a character to a prize love interest is sexist - be it by the fans, or writters side. But finding characters cute or having waifus or husbandos, - or in my case discussing playfully who are your "waifus"- is not sexist, as long you can appreciate other aspects of the characters and games.

While I'm not fan of Robin with second generation kids, I think it would be the best option to not exclude two children Female Robin x Lucina and Kjelle. Male Robin x Laurent and.. Gerome? Dunno. As for first generation, Tharja, Sully and Sumia would be good lesbian options. Lon'qi, Gregor and Henry could work as gay options I guess... Chrom can't be gay because Lucina need to be born for the story to work.

Lol I think the "problem" is that Fire Emblem has a lot of games and a LOT characters. If someone asked my favourite Fire Emblem character I'd name nothing more nothing less than 48747474 units because it depends of my mood, how recently I played one of the entries or how much invested I am in certain game at the time, so I can't answer objectively because it changes a lot.

I don't have waifus myself but those are girls that I like with the lords or avatar FE4: Patty, Daisy, Larcei, Laylea, FE6: Sue, Sophia, Cecilia FE7: Fiora, Lyn FE13: Olivia, Sumia FE14: Felicia, Camilla Fe16: Petra, Dorothea, Hapi, Shamir I find Noire, Brigid, Safy, Leanne, Marisha, Faye, Azura, Mathilda beyond pretty but not romance material for lots of different reasons

I will be contrarian and say that Donnel can be one of the best units due to his high growths. He is not worth touching in Lunatic in which side quests are harder than normal story related chapters. But in hard, Donnel can become a beast if you train him in just one paralogue. From then on, he breezes in the game.

Personal tastes aside, as it's subjective, commercially Three Houses is bigger than Awakening though. Awakening had a way better post game/dlcs, and thats it. I have a soft spot for FE13 since it made me come back to the franchise after years though.

Yeah, I can see Lyn supporting male and female Mark, and Raven or Lucius supporting both Mark genders as well.

Marth's birthday being the release of the first game, 20 April, and Caeda's birthday being the date of the remake 7th August, would be a nice detail. Same for the other lords.

Considering the Cipher lore, I believe that Emma, Randal, Yuzu and Shade are time travelers that took part or at least saw a lot of the wars of the games. When they say they are from a distant land, it's simply a vague way to say that they are from another time period and travel through events. So for example Emma and Yuzu are born in Hoshido but traveled through time and met Randal and other Cipher characters at some point. Apparently Shadows of Valentia is the only war that they are relevant enough to be remebered by name . Why and how they time travel is open to interpretation.

Honestly I did my second run just to experience the story again and focus the training on my favourite characters for Thabes, so I gave them the fountains and other stat boosters like the Pegasus cheese that raise speed. You can't beat Thabes without grinding Take time to promote your villagers. Train your villagers (the ones you want to use) until they are in a high level Make the Dread Fighters loop as villagers and train them Give them forged or legendary swords. Give the fork to the units that aren't dread fighters, so they can have better stats. You can get three free forks in the free Mila dlcs. Units like Tatiana, Silque and Mae that can summon units are very useful to distract the enemies, take at least one of them to your team

Awakening. Not my technical first but well.. 1) More diverse map objectives 2) Allow Chrom to marry Tharja, Miriel and Panne. Also let Sumia marry the rest of the cast to add more customisation for Cynthia

She is neutral but would easily change sides of she is in love with someone of other house and because she hates war, that Edelgard started. Leave Blue lions. Sylvain, for female Byleth. Mostly played like a joke but it's canon Mercedes for her brother in Black Eagles Felix because of his rivalry with Dimitri Leave Golden Deer: Lorenz because of his rivalry with Claude Leonie to side with Byleth to honour Jeralt Lysithea if the "winning" side is doing researches that can save her life Leave church: Shamir All characters can leave their own lords under the certain circumstances, but those are more likely to leave.

Also another point is that it was overdone to death in Fire Emblem. So a lot of people want to see other perspectives and scenarios. Being gritty just for being gritty is not good writing. Being good just for being good in a shitty situation and talking about power of friendship ignoring all political implications is also bad story writing, unless the plot recognises the consequences.
