Indeed. So you provide estimates and ridicule other people who use those estimates. Video game this size? Are you talking about three houses or feh? This size, lmao. Gta V was developed for 4 years. According to wiki it cost $137million. Approximately 1000 people worked on it. Just to put things into perspective.
-
Barebones technical personel. Lmao. You said yourself a programmer is somewhere between $4k-$8k. How many are working on feh? 1000? Lol I just used your estimates which you have pulled out out of your ass first.

Based on what you wrote we can say that $1million per month will be enough. Although I would say it's probably much less. With $165 million of current revenue, the profit wipl be quite huge. Unit rental system and random skills, wow! Took them 3-6months to develope? You making it sound like they are really doing quite the work. Are we still talking about a 6x8 grid game featuring 2d sprites and a very limited number of stats and skills? With absolutely no randomness gameplaywise? I think there is already more complicated games on mobile out there. In regard to game modes: they are pretty basic btw. You don't even have a guild system to maintain. You don't have live pvp, you don't have pvp coop. I am not saying this game needs it but if you don't have these modes at all, then you don't to pay to maintain them. Cheap investment huge income.

Were just examples of current month stuff. Never pretended the game didn't exist last month. Maybe you are imagining again. You really wanna imply developing new modes and units is expensive? How much do a couple of voicelines cost? Like literally a couple! Game modes? Ok, so we got Hall of Forms. How much did development take? A year? Two? This is just a rehashed stratum tower.
-
The basic development wont be free. But once the game HAS BEEN developed it is muuch cheaper to just add to it. 13 daily maps for anniversary? Bhb rerun quests? Also, a new skin, a new art, a couple of new voicelines for resplendent heroes, that won't be millions.
-
Exactly my point. Gacha games are low investment huge income. That's what publishers got used to and that's why we have premium currency only whales can/want afford and relatively little meaningful pve content. Gacha games are a playground where whales can meet and comepete against each other. Only feh isn't that interesting for whales as f2p can score relatively high. There are games where pure strength (which is powered up through whaling) and less strategy wins and f2p progress is gated so they barely have a chance (latest ffbe game for example). Maybe thats why low spenders are being targetted with the feh pass? Whales no longer support the game?

Now thats one way to look at it.

Like I said we don't know. If it's JUST 100k per month we are talking about then we just need to sell the pass 20k times and already made double the amount. Missed opportunity. Anyway, could it be the decline in revenue was brought about by measures to increase revenue?

We don't know that.

Not sure I am getting your point. What I meant is more like I doubt the actual costs of a game like Feh surpass $1million per month (correct me if I am wrong), even when in decline the game makes $165million per year atm, that's a lot of money. The actual investment into the game itself will be very cheap - I don't think 3rd anniversary maps or bhb rerun quests were expensive, lol. Artists and voice actors don't costs millions, otherwise we wouldn't get 3A console games for $60.

Thats understandable. Unfortunately the gacha industry as a whole is way too greedy. They make a lot of money with very little investment. Wouldn't hurt them, especially Nintendo, to become a little bit more modest.

True. But such a feature could have been quite an incentive for f2p's to start spending as it would provide sth "tangible" for the money. A lot of players compare the subsription with what they can get with a years worth of it. Today I ordered two switch games and paid less than 100 eur incl.shipping. The pass is about 120 Eur here. As I don't care about resplendent heroes, qol and resources, the only real benefit would be 2x summoner support for me. Really bad value for me. A +1 token could have made the deal interesting.

A Hero Rises 2020 - [UPDATE: Midway results are in]

Honestly IDK as I don't watch the guides either. I think I heard a criteria for f2p guides is unit accessibility, ghb units are technically available all the time via grail purchases and maybe @SuperNova125 is right and the free unit will be available all the time (I completely disregarded the Ike precedence). -

I am not sure the free VG unit would count for guides. Unless I am mistaken, we will get that unit for a limited time only, and players who started after wouldn't have that unit. -
No shit? I had a feeling you would point that out. LOL Edit: Of course you are right! Technically we might just talk about a +10 increase as extra 13 stats can be already achieved with summoner support. But I think we all know what kind of possibilities arise if we suddenly have 3 summoner supports.

I don't think its about automatically winning, that would be preposterous, you still have to play the game, auto-battle won't win in AR. Look at it this way: I think we can all agree that a +10 Cordelia is arguably better than a +0 Cordelia in every way. Right? Not just for scoring purposes. Her Performance is way better, faster, stronger, sturdier, healthier. How many stats are we talking about? 23!!! 20 from merges and 3 from 1st merge eliminating the bane. Someone who buys the pass gets 10 stats from resplendency AND can put summoner support on her which provides another 13 stats. We are talking about a potential 23 stat increase. Wait a minute! 23? Thats exactly what you get when you plus +10 a +0 Cordelia. In other words it's a +20 Cordelia +3 hp stats. If that's not an edge I don't know what is.

Turnwheel is meh indeed. I don't think auto battle is about button presses. Its about setting it up so you can leave the phone aside and come back after 15 minutes or so and have like 6 tt stages complete. Manually relaunching is meh imo. It's still discriminating. You haven't said anything about the extra stats you get when you pay for it! +10 resplendency stats hurt only those who actually use the unit but 2x summoner support is a big deal imo.

I never said that either. Resources are one thing, locking qol features behind a paywall is discriminating imo, providing better stats is scummy. While the deal might actually be decent in the gacha world of exorbitant prices, it is pretty much a scummy, unfair deal which atm is dividing the community.

Whats good about it? Paying to have an advantage over players who don't?

I would rather view the units as the bonus as they rotate while EVERYTHING else stays the same. Cordelia you say?

We can decide not to buy it I think it's a little bit funny actually - but not in a good sense, more like it's so stupid that it's funny. But yeah, consumers are getting more and more complacent these days and just buy into anything. Corporate thinkers often draw the entitlement card but even those understand you cannot do this in this context.

Lmao you are so on point

I wouldn't snipe for 3-4* fodder. I guess not too many people do it. However, I must admit that I consider grails to be quite valueable, given the fact a tt unit costs 2700 to max. It's definitely a goodie people wouldn't mind having more of, especially new players. Same goes for other gated resources.

-
But speaking of grails and resources. They are added to the monthly promo packs. Never heard people had a problem with those. If the pass comprised of units without stat increases but with skins (stat increases could be made available for everybody) and lots of non-orbs goodies (in order not to kill the minnow/dolphin revenue) like grails, feathers and the like, the pass would become optional and people would evaluate it and decide to buy it or not. No shitstorms. And if they announced such a pass with qol for everybody during anniversary people would be happy.

I wouldn't use this math. A grail copy can even cost 500 grails. So 500 grails would also be the equivalent of 4 orbs
