  1. I've seen this debated all over the internet. I'm going to read this series soon, and I'm wondering what your opinion is on what order to read the books in. It seems like a lot of people swear by the publishing order, but others insist on reading them chronologically. Which is the better experience? I usually always read books in publishing order since there's usually a good reason the author or editor put them that way. Obviously, I can't speak for this series, though, since I haven't read it.
  2. Here's what I wish someone told me before I went to university: Don't be the freshman who only goes to party and then drops out two weeks later or fails out at the end of the first semester. It hurts me to think of how much money was wasted, since the drop out rate for things like that is so high during the first year. Plain and simple: You're there to learn, and if you don't want to learn, you shouldn't be enrolled. It's perfectly fine to not go to college if you don't like it or feel like it's not for you. Don't ride it out for four years. I graduated college with a 4.0 and no debt because I was on full scholarship, and I STILL think that it was the stupidest decision of my life. I'm not trying to scare you out of college, but this is the reality that I wish someone told me. A degree in this job market is useless unless you're going to medical school. I would say a STEM degree is also worth it, but it seems like that's rapidly becoming false as of late. Experience is everything, and employers couldn't care less about your education. That being said: NETWORK. Get an internship. Get a work study job on campus; fight to do all three of these things. This is the main point of college that I wish I had known. If you don't come out of college with any work experience or networking, I'm sorry to say that you completely wasted your time in the eyes of any potential employers. Start applying for internships your freshman year and try hard to get a job somewhat relevant to your field on campus. This is, in my opinion, far more valuable than your college education. For your post: time management is the most valuable thing you can have in college. Don't procrastinate assignments and stay organized. Know when everything is due and work on assignments little bits at a time. I did a lot of my homework right after class if I had a gap of time between my next class. Stay on top of things, and you'll have the peace of mind to do whatever fun college-type things you want without the weighing stress of assignments bogging you down. Do make friends and join clubs! Study with classmates if that's your thing, or study alone at the library if your roommate drives you nuts. I wish you the best of luck with whatever you decide to do! Your life is in your hands now, which is both exciting and terrifying. Stay strong.
  3. This 100%! Your routine looks fine to me, but it's hard to tell over the internet since there's so many things that factor into what you can and cannot do right now as a beginner. The most important thing right now is setting a strict schedule for when you go to the gym and sticking with it. You're really not going to want to go to the gym some days, but go anyway. Forcing yourself to stick to the regime at those times is going to burn you out fast, so definitely make with something doable. If you aren't feeling the gym that day, do the bare minimum. Going to the gym consistently is the hardest step. Once it becomes a natural part of your routine, then you can start getting more serious about creating a daily muscle training routine.
  4. I've been saving orbs for months for the Thracia banner (for Leif, Finn, and Nanna)! Pros: I got two Nannas when there were no red orbs! Cons: Two Reinhardts... no Leifs.
  5. Chrom! I leveled him up in the training ground to level 90-something in hopes of getting through the Anna recruitment map that is restricted to Awakening units. He tore through it solo and is really fun to use.
  6. I've been waiting for this banner since launch!!! Eyvel TT maybe? I really like their art so far. Fingers crossed that they get good VAs and lines too.
  7. It really helps to focus on one or two characters and then level up the rest with money. I felt like I wasn't making any sort of leveling progress until I put Paragon (Marth's double EXP skill) on Navarre and then started playing him exclusively on maps for a while. It made a huge difference, and then I was able to catch the rest of my roster up in the training grounds.
  8. I thought for sure that it was going to be the Awakening DLC, but I guess not! I'm really curious now. Maybe it is that DLC but they're holding off on the unlock date for some reason?
  9. I'm surprised Camus isn't in the game and definitely want to see him. Realistically, more FE7 characters would be super cool. Hector and Eliwood at the least. But maybe FE6 characters wouldn't be too out of place since it'd be sort of similar to Lucina and Owain being in the game. Speaking of Lucina and Owain, where's Inigo??!
  10. How's the mapping in this game compared to IV? Is there even mapping? I only played most of IV, but I really liked it. Making the maps was my favorite part! It reminded me of drawing out maps on grid paper for crpgs way back when.
  11. I'm really glad I tried that demo because I uninstalled that abomination shortly after the title screen
  12. My poor Klein is -Atk and can't ORKO that archer to the right on Lunatic, so I can't use the archer strategy. My Firesweep Bow + LnD Jeorge is still too slow to double Lunatic mode enemies, RIP! I do like this map, though, and Valter has an amazing kit.
  13. That's awesome! I really like the old school artwork on the old Kaga games. I have 1 and 3 but not 2. If you ever get a chance to scan some of the manual, I would love to see it!
  14. I only ever used in FEH for the voting contest matches. I totally forgot it was in 13 and 14. It might be pretty fun to mess around with an auto battle run to see who survives or who happens to support with who. It's kind of an odd feature for Fire Emblem since the series has never had a strong focus on grinding, which is what autobattle is useful for. I know I definitely use these kind of features in grindy jRPGs.
