  1. Eh, not really, unless you're talking about eggs, beer, or certain brands of junk food. Everything usually tops off at an single gallon or 12-20 units of something else. Meat is kind of different in the sense that you can get enough to fix dinner for an entire family and still have enough for some leftovers
  2. She's mildly more useful than Boucheron, but I mainly used her for her personal skill, which is kind of funny, considering how mines was at around 21 Lck and it barely triggered for me.
  3. rockets-10-07-intl-hnk/index.html I've thought they had the Iron Dome up specifically for preventing incidents like these? At least it's better than seeing the other spambot shilling his bedroom pills.
  4. Bad collision detection? Or is it one of those things that actually does make sense when you think about it?
  5. Honestly, they're basically useless in Shadows of Valentia, even with the terrain advantage and the extra damage against undead. But it's more of example of them filling an niche that doesn't necessarily needed an immediate answer. Might have something to do with being an remake of the second game if you really wanted to blame it on being unbalanced. There were at their best in Awakening, solely because of Galeforce. But with that, Fates, and 3H; their more of filler/assassination unit than anything else.
  6. Yeah, I got killed by one of the maids and now I'm at the point where the game is railroading me into dating the vampire, lmao
  7. I just got an game over for refusing to help the vampire and got mauled by an rabid dog. 9/10 would not recommend
  8. Honestly, the fact that there's hardly an concrete method of actually playing the series (outside of the earliest entries) is the very reason why people are content to keep innovating for an new flavor of the month playstyle. Plus, meme builds are fun every now and then. But an unit performance chart ignores an lot of the short-term objectives and benchmarks that people have to deal with on an regular basis. Shit like one-rounding a specific boss or holding an choke point without resetting. Yes, it's useful in it's own ways; but it also feels cumbersome since it doesn't immediately address the antics of the rest of your army.
  9. Well, regarding the "best class in 3H" argument that popped up in 3H, there's an few reasons why people prefer Wyvern Lords over anything else. Mostly, it's for the mobility and the stat boosts that it gets are noticeably better than nearly all of the other endgame classes. On the other hand, people generally shit on the Holy Knights because it's filling in an niche that the game doesn't actually support; Dark Knights are an bit of an fair trade for mobility over utility; Mortal Savants are an little bit on the slow side and their magical damage is more of an stopgap for an few specific situations...Or it's just an easier means of preserving your weapon usage while getting in an free attack. It all depends on how you fight. People hated the Great Knights on how much effort it takes to qualify for it in comparison to just getting an Wyvern Lord. As for the rest, it's mainly about how Gremory being the best magical class also locks most of the male magicians into an mediocrity. But to be fair, there really isn't much of an different between Ivy's personal class and turning her into an Mage Knight unless you're using an really heavy tome against an fast opponent. Obviously, you don't have to worry too much about enemy archers, if you go through it; but it's not exactly the pinnacle of min-maxing Engage, IIRC But the biggest thing that you have barely addressed that the series is essentially an game of chance. Not in the "HOLY FUCK!! THIS GUY HAS AN KILLER AXE!" kind of fun; but it's more of along the lines of how some people aren't meeting certain speed or strength benchmarks to kill an specific unit somewhere down the line in an run with (extremely) limited resources. It's an part of the reason why people tend to defend the villager recruits (I never really understood how Jean was good, tbh. But having an second or third healer was nice) because their growth rates were significantly better than some of the filler units.
  10. Apparently, 79% of the answers to his survey came from Reddit; but he's also citing some really old threads from here.
  11. Well, there's also the feature with how it rewards xp based on how many kills each character got. And there's also the option of skipping out on Zeke and Tatiana if you're doing an LTC run. And I'll watch the video later on
  12. Probably an Great Knight? But overall, these two classes are an bit of an stopgap in the grand scheme of things. In Awakening, there's quite an few conditionally useful skills that they can pick up, along with having an semi-useful, but mobile unit. 3H is mainly there to grind out your riding skill. Desperation fits too niche of an role that can easily be replaced with an lot of stuff. Shadows of Valentia never really gave you an reason not to use them outside of the occasional bit of unyielding terrain or pitting you against an group of Barons or something. 9 movement range is neat to have, but it's something that I never really made the most out of because... Well, just look at the rest of the cast. Fates gave them an bit of an nerf because the last set of levels in each route are indoors and getting +3 damage isn't exactly as useful as extending your survivability with an boost to your accuracy and evasion. With Engage, it depends on exactly which Ring that you're using. But otherwise, can you actually attack after using pivot?
  13. I'm pretty sure that an plague has existed in the Holy Kingdom of Fearghus, at some point. Plus, Rhys was hinted at having an weaker-than-average immune system. As for the rest, it's hard to say. Unless we count "walking through the swamps of Duma" as wading through an actual biohazard. Speaking of which, has any actually poisoned an well in the series?
  14. It probably would have done better if they kept The Phantom in the base game, though
  15. The NPCs generally hang out in the same area; unless, of course, you're talking about General White. Well, there's some changes to dialogue, here and there. Let's hope that they didn't axe one of the best fourth wall jokes in the game
  16. Joke's on them. I've already played the hell out of it on my Gamecube. But to be fair, they did improve the lighting and alter the UI, an little bit. And it's not as blatant of an cash grab as that time they've released 3 Mario platformers, an while back. But Sega is almost as bad with Sonic, in a way. Peak game design
  17. Personally, I would have settled with the first one, or this one if they actually added some new content to it.
  18. It's an bit of an disappointment, for me. Unicorn Overlord and Eiyudne Chronicles certainly looks promising. The Paper Mario remake looks an little bit on the unnatural side with the revamped lighting. And Princess Peach: Showtime is more or less cursed to be an walking sim, as far as I can tell
  19. Basically, you're restarting from more or less the halfway point whenever you switch game engines. It kind of depends on exactly how you made the character models and animations; but everything that isn't the audio or the script has to be redone in some capacity
  20. Honestly, this is an great idea. But it kind of pushes it farther into being an boss rush unless you give the enemies an wider variety of moves that they can use
  21. I want an arquebus. You've already got those fancy magical ICBMs and those cannons mounted on an ship. How hard can it be to make an flintlock rifle and call it the next Fire Emblem? At least it actually harnesses the power of fire whenever you use it.
  22. Personally, I'm more of an casual perfectionist than an LTC guy. But with that said, I really don't care that much for making tier lists and the like because it's not really worth the effort based on the assumption that so and so kept getting bonuses to Resistance and Speed instead of the other stats that I actually wanted.
  23. Yeah, it works if you're sidestepping an thrust from a spear and there's an bit of wind up swing with an axe. But with an sword, it kind of falls apart unless you grab the guy's arm and start stabbing the shit out of him.
  24. This is extremely unbelievable. You have an guy who's capable of taking an sledgehammer to the face and being stabbed in the chest by some rich kid on an horse and some scrawny guy with an knife was all it took to incapacitate him?
  25. Make an cursed knife that either prevents an mage from causing magic or it an single-use thing that stuns someone. Because wizards are cool, but they're too frail to carry any form of conventional weaponry; so the devs just had them hiding knives in the sleeves of their robes and called it an day. But the main problem with throwing knives in video games is that nobody can agree on just how dangerous they're actually are. But they are fun to use, though
