How are effective are bows overall in Three Houses? I know that bows (and therefore classes that primarily use bows) have been notoriously underwhelming in some past FE games, is that also the case here?

They seem pretty good. Bows unlock Close Counter at around C Rank, I believe, which eliminates their main weakness of not having 1 range. With Combat Arts and Class Abilities, they will be able to attack from 6 spaces away, making it very easy to avoid counter attacks.

If I follow a certain path as someone suggested to recruit my students which was:

    (Monk/Soldier/Fighter -> )Mage/Cavalier/Brigand -> Wyvern Rider/Warlock/Paladin -> Wyvern Lord/Dark Knight

I don't have to end on Dark Knight, do I? In the end I'd like to end with Byleth's special job.

You will be able to become Byleth's unique class.

  3. Thanks for doing all this. And yeah,  I saw the stats for some of the gauntlets, and guessed it would be the case for Magic. One small thing, but I always had the AD formula as rounding down. I'm not sure if I mistyped it somewhere or if you misread it, but it doesn't really matter.

We know of a few Abilities that use Dex and Luk for activation rates. Is the Magic Hit formula Dex + Luk/2, or (Dex+Luk)/2, and is the crit formula the same? Also, is Crit Avoid just equal to Luk? And one last question, do you know anything about Crest activation rates or whether the ones that increase might are just +5 mt?

Q: Can Female Characters use Gauntlets? While I know Brawlers are more of a male character thing, females can still theoretically get some usage during Fighter and Brigand stages.

I ask because at one point I want to make do a F!Byleth run as "Punch Saint." As for how I plan on doing it... (Game Mechanic Spoilers)

    1. Byleth's unique class has strengths in basically everything if I recall correctly. At least, I think it had a strength in Brawling.

    2. If New Game + works how I think it does, I may be able to raise up Brawling on a male character before transferring the skills to my F!Byleth. Of course, NG+ info is limited and I may be incorrect here.

Yes, they just don't have any classes that specialize in Gauntlets specifically (so no Gauntletfaire). It wouldn't be too hard for F!Byleth to train up Gauntlets, especially since she has a Strength.

Caspar/Linhardt and Sylvain/Felix are both rather vague, and can be seen as either platonic or romantic

Dorothea/Hubert is explicitly platonic and Dorothea/Edelgard seems kinda platonic as well

apparently all of Raphael is platonic, but I didn't check

Do you know if everybody who can reach an A Support can get a paired ending, or only some of them?

Well here's a list of all the explicitly romantic ones

Dorothea // Ferdinand, Linhardt, Casper, Felix, Sylvain, Petra, Lorenz, Hanneman, Manuela

Well yes, but that means we could make the same choices for the other two. I don't know, it just seems really strange that the only one house would have a recruitable "retainer." Especially since they've been making it out that the houses are fairly equal, at least in terms of stats and character availability

Well, Hilda was never described as a loyal retainer, even if she's the closest thing to one. Meanwhile, Hubert and Dedue specifically have their Lords referenced in their profiles and dislikes.

@0 Def Cleric Yeah, for now I think I'll just go Wyvern Lord. I wish that War Master was not Male only.

Also, is making Bernadetta a Pegasus Knight a good idea? Later on when I want to promote to Falcon Knight, the class will require Swords, which Bernadetta is weak at.

I'm going to be making her a Falcon Knight too. Getting a C in Swords over 30 levels shouldn't be that hard, even with a weakness. Of course, you could also try promoting her without reaching the requirements.

Does that mean she's related to Linhardt?

All those shared crests are weird tbh, Lysithea with Lorenz and Catherine, now Flayn with Linhardt, those people don't look even remotely related, maybe this "crest experimentation" thing is much more common than what we think. Or maybe multiple families can have the same crest, but that's in contrast with what they've told us up until now.

The crests seem to come from 1000 years before the story, so it doesn't seem unreasonable that two families can share a crest despite not being closely related. Of course, crest experimentation is possible, but it's not the only explanation.

Personally, I don't think it's that hard to believe they're related. The only reason Holy Blood wielders looked so similar within families is because they'd only, you know, existed for around a hundred years (barring the obvious.) There's probably been all sorts of intermarriage since Seiros's time. What year is it in the game, anyway?

    The game starts in 1180.

Yeah, the guy posted a few screenshots on /feg/, and answered a few questions before leaving. He said he left because a Blue Lions fan was bothering him about the fact he chose Black Eagles, but he probably just wanted to get back to playing the game.

Highlights are that Ferdinand unlocks Seal Speed after blooming his talent, Bernadetta unlocks Pass and Edelgard gets Black Magic Crit +10. The plot is apparently pretty slow up until at least July.

This was his Byleth in the same chapter, for comparison. I don't think the boss is intended to be remotely beatable at this stage.

It seems that the Budding Talent Abilities will be pretty good. Does he mention if they really do become strengths?

July would only be Chapter 4, right? That doesn't sound very bad.

It seems that the Death Knight would one round Byleth with 30% Crit while taking 5 damage in return, so hopefully you're right.
