Dauntain

For some reason, I was super sure I could only gift people one item per week, to limit how fast I could recruit anyone. Didn't realize there was no limit to that until I watched someone else play. Also only expected to be able to recruit a few students before making my class too large, so focused on only recruiting my favourites. Annnd then it was too late. Agreed about studying for high skills for using batallions and master classes. Missed out on several mounted classes thanks to having the wrong study goals. Oh well. Gives me new stuff to aim for with my second playthrough.

Did the mission yesterday. Overall just got lucky. Just had to rewind a few times to save lives. Left five units to deal with the first beast, while sending the rest of the army north-west led by my pegasus riders while dealing with the mages, then directly for Dimitri. I avoided Dedue until last, thinking he might not even count as a commander anymore. Once Rhea showed up, she charged my position to the north alone, while her reforcements all tried to attack the five units I retreated near the heal tile at the center. Once Rhea was gone, I could focus entirely on Dedue. Messy, but it worked. Hadn't recruited many students before, so I faced both extra characters. Was sure during school there would be a hard limit to how many students I could poach from other houses, so I waited with recruiting more than three until it was too late.

I dunno, maybe noone. I'm kinda refreshed by not feeling forced pick anyone. Still playing it the first time through blind, tho. Might have gone with Petra if she was an option for female Byleth, but since I'm already fully supporting Edelgard I'm kinda curious about how that turns out as a girl too.

Linhardt. Dorothea was TOO perfect for it, and picking a girl was too predictable anyhow. Plus, sleepyhead needs the exercise.

Hey there! I haven't played a Fire Emblem game seriously since Path of Radiance, but haven't been able to stop checking up on news about Three Houses since the timeskip trailer- annnd now I've been kinda desperately wanting to gush about the game ever since playing it for almost a week straight. Currently playing Black Eagles, 14 chapters in. Hard classic, no online. Two amiibos - Daisy and a metroid. I feel a bit stuck in the middle of a sea of spoilers right now, tho, since I'm still playing it blind, so unsure how to safely talk about anything without either being spoiled - or spoiling it for someone else. But either I start babbling about it now, or I have to finish at least two out of three houses storylines before I feel safe, and then I'll be back to my usual asocial habits and won't feel like I have anything worth contributing. Got a bit of Bernadetta in me, so I'm usually silent. Unless I get obsessive, in which case I'll talk too much. So, uh, any safe-ish spots around to chat about students and such? (Or complain like an old geezer about how much better things were back when permadeath wasn't a choice?)
