See, it sucks for me cuz I'm interested in Claude, but not Dmitri, so i hate that the other route I'd be most interested in I'd get the least out of, story wise. I'm just going to go with my gut on decisions & see where i end up in regards to the route I take. I have recruited some from each house so far in chapter 7, but I think I'll prioritize those in the future, per your suggestion. I may just end up doing both BE story lines, then depending on how long that takes, I may still do the BL route. I would plan to play again after a break to play something else, but I've had to start being realistic...that never happens, no matter how legitimate my intentions are. My backlog of games that I've never played is long enough without counting games I planned multiple playthrus of. Thank you for the information & advice. Much appreciated.

I'm early on in 1st playthru (chapter 7, w black eagles), but plan to make decisions without knowing how to side with church or edelgard (tho I know there's 2 routes since that was hard to avoid when looking up guides to figure out the systems, stats, etc). Whatever side I end up on, I'll finish, but I'll probably only play 1 other time after that (huge backlog). That being the case, if I end up playing through the church route, should next playthru be blue lions since Golden deer is so similar? Or would it be better to play the other black eagles route? Any recommendation? Not trying to hijack. Just one knowledgeable recommendation will be fine. Thanks in advance.

See, I didn't even notice that, but I'm not that far in yet. I usually pick up on things like that, as I'm pretty picky. After Awakening scarred me, I just make sure the characters actually have feet, & I'm satisfied for a bit before I start my internal criticism. I agree about the outfit of female Byleth, tho. I noticed that any who chose to say one way or another in this thread picked male Byleth besides us. Is that the most common choice? Is their a reason, if so? I always pick female characters when I have a choice, as I prefer looking at a female for all the hours I'm forced to stare at the protagonist. Some games in the past, like Mass Effect, I chose what I wished or saw myself looking like in that world, so it was Male (as was the transferred version I'm ME2 & 3). I think those were the last games I tried to make the main character look like myself, as I then changed to the rationale I mentioned above for some reason.
