  1. Rolf up to high mid, Edward, Mist and Nephenee WAY down. I'm assuming this a hard mode tier list.
  2. Don't use Nephenee. They're so many units you can use in place of her in hard mode.

    Sain or Kent

Sain is all offense, Kent is more balanced. I think Sain is slightly better because of his higher strength and decent speed, but Kent is awesome too. I always raise both. Aside from Oswin, the two don't really hold much competition for the Knight's Crest.
  4. I think there should be a merchant class in this game. They can't fight, have crappy defense, but can sell, forge and store items on the battlefield. They get EXP by selling units items.
  5. On my playthrough where Ike was DEF screwed, the battle was awesome. Luna, Ike survives with one HP. Wrath+Resolve double crit, battle over.
  6. Sothe>>>>>>Volke. Seriously, Sothe is one of the offensive and defensive characters in part 1 and the best offensive character in the DB's part 3 because of beastkiller (except for BK, who shows up for one chapter.) In part 4, he's obviously doing less damage but he can still kill swordmasters, mages and priests so he isn't completely worthless. Oh. Cool. Volke shows up one chapter before the endgame. It's unlikely for him to get many kills in that chapter because of innate stillness (no one will attack him,) and by the time you get to the endgame he's basically just filler. Not only is the endgame easy as hell, but your entire army should be stronger then Volke. If your army isn't strong enough, then throw in one of the invincible royals that the game gives you during the last chapter. Volke doesn't contribute a lot, whereas Sothe does. Sothe is easily a high-top tier unit because of part 1 and 3 performance alone. Volke shows up at the end and brings absolutely nothing. Hell, he isn't even good in the endgame. He's hardly killing the armours in the first part, if he kills at all, and he's going to have to need lethality constantly to actually be a good unit. Oh, also, he has two choices for weapons. The weak 2 peshkatz, or the strong one range baselard. Take your pick, they both suck. And also, Sothe come with an A support with Micaiah and can support a ton of other units throughout the game. Odds are, Volke won't support at all, meaning Sothe's stats will probably be even higher then Volkes. Sothe>>>>>>Volke.
  7. Except ten dead people is still dead people. Whether you have an army of 1000 or 10. And I hardly doubt anyone cares about ANYONES lives in this game. Really. If a unit dies, they say a death quote and no one speaks of them again. Green units are placed in insane places where they're BOUND to die. Everyone is constantly trying to fight massive armies with 10 or so people...it's stupid.
  8. Where the **** was Micaiah's one million person army from 3-7 when I needed them in 3-6? Why does everyone always want to bring the smallest amount of people to avoid casualties? 10 dead units=10 dead units, whether you have 15 units on the map or 300.
  9. I liked the DB chapters. They actually required you to really plan and think unlike in Ike's chapters where you can just completely sweep a map without even thinking.
  10. Who cares about that stuff? She's inferior to most of the cast and takes uber babying. Her resistance and luck are good, but 30 strength, 34 skill, 31 speed, and 24 defense is epic fail. They give you so many good units in part 3 that there's absolutely no need to raise Astrid a whole other tier just to get her average. Also, to put the nail in the coffin, her bases are awful, and her growths don't make up for it. 13 strength, 15 speed and 10 defense at level 2 promoted. Please. She fails. Horribly.
  11. She actually turns out really mediocre. Her growths are really meh. Even with blossom. Rolf and Shinon are amazing, and don't need to babied to hell and back.
  12. Probably Astrid. They practically force you not to use her. By the time she joins the GM everyone is 3rd tier and she's probably (unless you boss abused, which doesn't count for anything) 2nd tier, probably level 1-5 second tier. Plus, her growths suck and you already have two amazing archers; Rolf and Shinon. Worthless unit.
  13. Everyone in Fire Emblem is hot. Except bosses and bad guys. They have weird facial hair and are ugly.
  14. Growths: Rolf doesn't have bad bases. They're actually really good. The only one that's below average is 13 defense, but um...Mia starts out with that at level 7. Stat Caps: Rolf has plus +5 strength. However, bows are much stronger. Rolf with double bow has 61 power at the end of the game, Mia has 49. That's 12 higher, quite a big difference. Class: Marksman>>>>>Trueblade. They double just as much, and kill and take hits easier. Critical: With Rolf's bonds, he has the highest possible critical in the game. I believe it is 280 if you do everything correctly. I'm not sure. Oh yeah. Plus he autocrits with a triangle attack. Weapon: Double Bow "pretty" good. lol. I don't think you know how insane the double bow is. 1-3 range, 22 might and + 3 strength. And lances > swords, btw. Lol. Rolf has a fail base strength? He starts with 17 AND THAT IS EXACTLY THE SAME AS MIA EXCEPT SHE COMES 7 LEVELS HIGHER! +9 should never be the difference between life and death. If you're a good player, than you won't be sending your units into a group of enemies and hope they dodge everything on hard mode. Especially if that unit is a trueblade.
  15. Ok, better growths, better stat caps, better class, better final average stats, highest possible critical rate in the game, ability to use the best weapon in the game. I'm pretty sure I posted a paragraph about this earlier. The only thing she has on him is some speed, but Rolf DA's nearly anything anyway, and luck which contributes to evade, and her evade is only really +9 higher than his.
  16. Rolf is much better when babied. Enemy luck is so high in this game that +10 crit really doesn't matter. Hell, +20 crit isn't really a big deal. I suppose she uses it the best, but not by much. She starts with a 28% activation rate, Shinon starts with 24%, Oscar and Titania start with 21%, Ike starts with 23%, Gatrie starts with 20%, and Rolf starts with 19%.
  17. She's doing hardly any damage at first. She has +10 crit. Big deal. Adept can be given to anyone.
  18. It still is very luck based whether you get hit or not. Say Mia has about a 65% avoid (which is fairly common on hard mode.) There's a 65% she can get hit and lose over half her health, and there's a 35% chance she'll dodge and receive no damage at all. That=Luck. And how is Mia even remotely useful from day one? She starts out with Rolf's strength, HP, and defense at level 7 and uses weaker weapons.
  19. ... What? Isn't dodging completely luck based? Dodging is all luck unless you have 0% hit, which can really only happen with Earthx3 support on Zihark against a warrior on easy mode. If we're talking about hard mode, which is where all character debates should take place, then dodging should NOT be a way of defense. Defense is the best defense, if you get hit, you will be assured to live. Mia is also harder to baby, too. At level 7, she will have 13 defense and 34 HP, which is exactly the same as Rolf when you first get him. Her growths in those stats are pretty good, but her bases will kill her until she hits 3rd tier, and then her crappy stat caps will kick in. On top of that, she's competing with Ike for swords. Not only is Ike twice as good as her, but he's also required, meaning he's going to constantly need swords to enter combat. The GM's are poor until the 3 armies combine and you get all that money, and it's going to really weaken you to waste money on weapons for a character that won't end up spectacular. Archers are easier to baby because they aren't risking being killed by a counter, Mia is risking losing over half her HP if she gets into combat with someone. Rolf on the other hand, strength and HP will increase at an insane rate. Once he starts to double, which...might take quite a few levels on hard, he'll be pretty damn lethal. Also, as a side note, Rolf can evade pretty much just as well as Mia. Haar, the best character in the game comes to the Mercs pretty earth and with a Windx3 Support they get +13 Avoid and Accuracy. Rolf averages about 107 avoid that way. Mia is going to need to support a fire character or dark character if she wants to damage things (fire with Boyd being the obvious choice.) BUT she can support with Soren (who is pretty crappy in HM) and she'll get 116 avoid out of it. She has +9 avoid on Rolf but Rolf is beating her overall. Her luck is better, but it's basically just a slight plus to avoid, and speed, which doesn't matter because enemy speed doesn't get that high above 30. Endgame, it isn't even a contest. Rolf is just better. Rolf's overall power with Double Bow is 61. Mia's overall power with alondite is 49. He's one of the most lethal characters in the game when he get's there. He can use the best weapon in the game, and has a good chance of one rounding all the generals and white dragons. He can do this also from three range. Mia is ALWAYS risking a counterattack and getting hit.
  20. Massively overrated unit. She's just a slower swordmaster. Weak, cannot take a hit, and doesn't dodge enough considering how speed oriented she is. Aran can hold his weight x1000 better, especially on hard mode. Neph is the epitome of fail on hard mode.
  21. Being worse then them is not only being outclassed by great units, but also better paladins. There is NO point in using her unless you want the +1 resistance the female class gives you. The game gives you two better paladins earlier with better growths (god I'm repeating myself) Better weapons better blah blah blah. Why use her when you can use them? and 80%? Pfft Ike, Boyd, Oscar, Rolf, Soren, Rhys, Titania, Shinon, Gatrie, Marcia, lethe, Morcedai, Volke, Keiran, Brom, Nephenee, Zihark, Jill, Makalov, Stefan, Tormod, Muarim, Reyson, Janaff, Ulki, Callill, Ranulf, Haar, Geoffrey, Largo, Nasir, Tibarn and Giffca are all better then her. Give or take a few.
  22. So yeah. If you corner a general on a healing block and have Astrid shoot him for about 5 days she'll catch up. The point is she's outclassed, underleveled, and dosen't become awesome after a ton of use. Oscar and Kieran need minimal training and become good.
