  1. Hi there, So I am currently working my way through my second play through of the game. I am surprised how much I love it; as an old school Fire Emblem fan, I didn't like the mechanics at first and nearly quit. Everything was also very confusing during the first play (killed half the school that I didn't recruit because I didn't fully understand it), but now I have a much better grasp on things. My first play was the Blue Lions, and my current play is with the Golden Deer. I plan to finish the Golden Deer and continue the New Game + Route for one of the two Black Eagle routes, but I also want to make a separate play for Maddening Mode/the title screen quest. So- a few questions: For plot purposes, which should I do first? The Church Route or Edelgard's? I have managed to remain relatively spoiler-free in terms of the larger plot, and am still confused on who I am and who Rhea is/the rest of the folks in the church. I got an A support with her on this Golden Deer route so I am hoping by the end of the route I will understand everything and Byleth's relation to Nemesis, etc. Which of the two remaining routes would be good to do for Maddening mode? This would also impact point 1. I;m excited for the challenge but if one of the two routes is significantly easier or ridiculously difficult to the point where it should be avoided, I want that taken into consideration. My first play was just a cluster in terms of recruitment, and in this Golden Deer route I recruited everyone. I was thinking of doing one of the two remaining routes with just the Black Eagle house (and maybe recruiting Lysithea if in the Maddening Route because Dark Spikes for the Death Knight). Knowing the last two points, which route should I stick just to the BE recruits and which should I pick up Lysithea/maybe Mercedes for Maddening? Hope this all makes sense. Thank you to all in advance! (Side note..it's been nearly 10 years since I posted on this forum..any old heads still lurking? ⛺ )
  2. It's only a matter of time if Salamence is removed from OU. Trust me, look at what just happend. Latias was banned not even a week ago? and they want to jump in and remove something else. People will grow tired of Scizor's ability to sweep, the same for Tyranitar.
  3. I was pushing more towards the idea that they assume Spikes are up(I understand rocks) and that Salamence is going to get x amount of Dragon Dance's in. Bzzzt. I just don't believe that Salamence is as strong as some people proclaim him to be, and this is the fault in letting such a small amount of people decide for the entire community how things are run. All we do in competitive battling is assume and predict. I assume that my opponent will set up Stealth Rocks. I assume they will have x Pokemon on their team. http://www.smogon.com/forums/showthread.php?t=45565 This is what Pokemon has become.
  4. What I am reading is that a number of people on Smogon are upset that a Pokemon is powerful. Obviously there will always be something with a large amount of power in the top spot of OU. Salamence is currently the big dog, so once he gets banned, something else will come take his place. Then everyone at Smogon will be butthurt and will want to ban that. It's a never ending cycle; we will never find a true balance in OU. They should leave it be and just wait for Gen 5 at this point. EDIT: I also dislike how Smogon uses perfect scenarios to assume that Rocks, spikes, etc, is all up. It's understandable for some things, but let's be real; we're playing a game. You should build your team up for threats, and not assume that everyone is going to have Spikes along with Strealth rock and this and that. It's a game.
  5. Ubers is ment to be a banned tier, not one where any amount of power is measured. By that logic, Garchomp should be removed since everything in Ubers kills him. I think the reason they are looking at Salamence is absurd. Yes, Salamence can do a large sum of damage to your Pokemon, it's Powerful. I understand banning Pokemon who require a specific counter to kill, and who you can't kill with out losing someone(Garchomp, i'm looking at you). But now they are plotting because he can do a decent amount of damage to a Pokemon? Stupid.
  6. Lord Glenn.. Best wishes :( We'll be in contact. Worlds Collide chat shut down since Hooky vanished too though, how will I ever get ahold of you two now? :( (Especially because I am going to school across the bridge from Hooky..;:E)
  7. Dew x Eden isn't horrible, but Jamka would be a better father because he can pass down bows. Dew also can't pass down one of his nice skills, Solar Sword, to Lester. This event has happend to me several times before, specifically with Sylvia(that skank). Levin and Tiltyu are "in love" but then he falls for Sylvia. It's part of the jealousy system I believe, and you may have kept Eden too close to Dew in Chapter 1.
  8. None of you here know the real Twilkitri like me and Jeffer do. That's why we're his friends on SF ^_______^
  9. ur avi is qute stevia ^_^

  10. I do not see how that is at all possible, unless Finn doesn't age. He was much older then Oifaye in Generation 1; He, unlike Oifaye, was capable of fighting. They couldn't be around the same age.
  11. I like this topic. hi dad edit. I am Twilkitris son. Under the holy blood of Togieduo and Twilkitri, at that. And he will finish the patch. I promise that. >:o
  12. Very interesting find. Thank you, Vincent and TheEnd. Was it known that Lachesis was with Finn during his departure from Lenster? Or is this new? I believe the latter, but..
  13. So, I've been thinking about doing this for awhile, and am going to do it after my substitute playthrough. Now, in order to obtain an AAAA Rank, you need: -To beat the game in less then 399 turns. -Less then 3 Battle Losses(Death) -No dead characters -1000+ Levelups. Now, I will evaluate each one..enemy castles -399 Turns in a 12 Chapter game rounds to about 32 turns per chapter. Granted, this is just an average figure; The prologue will not take me 32 turns, nor will some of the easier chapters. However, there are a few I fear may need more turns. Specifically Chapter 5(The deserts hinderance will slow everyone down), Chapter 1s last stand(The forest is a hinderance on movement..) and perhaps Chapter 10(Due to the situation with Julius and Ishtar, and how to preferred way to get them to leave is to Berserk an enemy unit near them). The prologue is easy kickin, Chapter 2 is a big rush chapter(Though, the whole castle with Lachesis personally bothers me because I always take my time to slowly kill everything), Chapter 3 and 4 are easy, Chapter 6 on is easy too. Overall if I keep at a well rounded pace I should be fine, but any comments would be appreciated. -Less then 3 Battle Losses. I don't see this being a problem..I usually use savestates, but would this be considered cheating? The only rare time that i've left someone dead is when Sylvia whores herself out to Levin and I am forced to kill her to get Levin x Tiltyu, and then am too lazy to revive her. This won't happen this play, though. -No death. Easy. As stated above, the only time I have ever left someone dead is Sylvia(Because her subs are better, and she ends up falling in love with Levin). -1000 Levelsups. Oh joy. There are a possible 1052 levelups in the game, assuming you pair everyone. This will fluctuate slightly, because I will choose Laylea and Sharlow over Leen and Corple. Now this is where it gets annoying. The 1052 figure is assuming every unit leveled up to level 30 from their base level. Clearly, this isn't going to happen. Diadora most certainly most cap, and I usually have Cuan and Ethlin only level 20 upon their leave. By endgame, I also have my first gen units around level 25~, so it's going to be a tough break. I can easily get everyone from second gen to cap, no issues at all. Maybe Julia won't hit 30(She usually promotes upon being kidnapped, however), but everyone else is set. I know to pass the Elite ring around like mad, however I usually let my thieves have it(Dew especially, because he has a hard time keeping up at the start), and Patty makes well use with it, because she does hit pretty hard with Briggid x Holyn. Now, for pairings: Azel x Lachesis Beowolf x Eden Sylvia unpaired Levin x Tiltyu* Fury x Claude* Aira x Jamuka Holyn x Briggid The two stars are representative of what I see can be a problem. Usually Levin x Tiltyu requires a large amount of time together in Chapters 4 and 5, because it's impossible for them to get too much time together in 3. Sylvia also typically will fall in love with Levin if not careful. The thing is, if I am rushing in this upcoming playthrough, how will I make the two fall in love? I believe having Holsety at my disposal in Chapter 6 will make this speed run much easier, and make Tinny a much better unit. However, I fear that time will run out and they will not fall in love. I can have Claude x Fury by endgame, because I always fly Fury out to help Claude, Tiltyu and Briggid with the Brigand situation, and they spend some minor time together. However, if Levin x Tiltyu is too pressed, I may have to pair Fury and Levin together. :/ Everything else is easy. Briggid x Holyn results in a fighter Patty, and Faval with his highest HP growth. Beowolf x Eden results in a powerful Lester and Rana who can hold her own. Aira x Jamuka grants the kids more powerful skills, which fit their class, like Charge and Continue. Azel x Lachesis makes Beowolf capable of using the Wind sword well in the second generation, and Nanna with her highest magic growth. There are a few questions I have: Let's say in Chapter 6 for example, I recruit Johan and Johaveliers castle remains enemy, because I am now moving south to re-claim Johans castle. Do I have to reclaim Johaveliers castle, or will it affect my rank if I don't? This also applies to Chapter 7 when Lenster falls. In short, does leaving an un-needed castle as an enemy castle affect rank? I know when you let a player controlled castle fall, you rank drops severely. (Also, random note: I am aware of the Battle Glitch issue in Final. Narga will probably kill Julius) I had a few other question, but they slipped my mind. Will post them when I remember them.
  14. The enemies are not hard enough that Beowolf!Lester with a Strength ring cannot destroy. >Armors >Earth Sword >2 Range Money isn't that hard to get in this game. Aira kids are born to rape. There is no rush. I don't think there is a single unit in the first few chapters, minus the Holy weapon users, that Lakche or Skasacher couldn't kill. Okay, they are miniscule, but they still count for something. Also, why is there a tier list for FE4? You can use everyone. I don't understand why you wouldn't, either..
  15. Better stats in the long run> Waiting two chapters for the Hero Bow. Nanna isn't terrible at combat..She has the Earth Sword, and the ability the heal any scrape. You already established that Delmud will always have better Strength then Magic, so he can still use regular swords in this pairing, including using the Wind Sword up close. Meanwhile on your phase he can just attack from a distance, prevent injury, and kill enemies with the low resistance. I also notice that you keep using the generic bases that the site has posted. Those neglect the stats that are inherited from parents, which is a portion of their final stats after Chapter 5. So they won't be as horrible as you keep stating.
  16. 1)I said these kids would be overkill no matter who their parents are. However, I feel that Continue and Charge work better because of their excellent speed and skill. Elite really isn't that great of a card on kids who don't need it to hit level 30 at all. 2) Enemies have worse Resistance then Defense in this game, so he will still be doing more to the Armors and Mounted Units then with a regular sword. If he has a 42% magic growth, in change for some strength growth(You just said his strength will always pass his magic, therefore there should be no serious worry whether hes fighting upclose or from a distance with a magic sword) he will grow magic and be able to kill enemies easier. The magic defense in this game is pitiful. You are better off with a magic attack then a physical. Also, how are you healing for near full HP when you have a bad magic growth/base? 3) Better growths.
  17. what. Jamuka x Aira: HP/Str/Mag/Skl/Spd/Luk/Def/Res Skasaher 135/65/2/55/45/50/40/7 Lakche 115/55/5/65/45/40/35/7 Both kids have excellent growths and end up with high HP. Jamuka may not be able to pass swords to Skasaher, but if you let him grab the Silver Blade in Ch.7 he will be fine. Airas kids are always destructive, but this is my personal favorite because you can have them in love by mid-Ch. 3. Sylvia is better off not paired, but she usually whores herself out to Levin. I actually had to kill her in my last play and forgot to revive her. Corpul is garbage, regardless to the fact that he is only one of three that can wield Holsety. Sharlow gets the Berserk staff, comes with Elite, and Laylea has Charisma and can get the Barrier Sword. Lachesis x Azel: HP/Str/Mag/Skl/Spd/Luk/Def/Res Delmud 110/50/42/25/60/40/30/15 Nanna 105/55/40/20/45/50/30/15 Once Azel promotes, he gains the ability to use swords. Give him the Wind Sword to start absorbing kills and have him pass it to Delmud. I also gave him the first-generations Armorslayer to deal with some of the harder threats. Nanna ends up with her highest potential magic growth in this pairing(40%) and becomes a more versatile healer. Both kids break 100 HP growth, and have pretty good strength. Aideen x Beowolf: HP/Str/Mag/Skl/Spd/Luk/Def/Res Lester 125/50/15/50/45/65/40/7 Rana 110/40/30/40/45/70/35/7 Lester cannot inherit any bows in this pairing, but I give Beowolf a Strength Ring to pass down. Lester picks up the Hero Bow in Chapter 8, and is usually fine until then. Rana has an excellent HP growth and has a somewhat decent defense. Both kids turn out excellent. Everything else you said was good. Tiltyu x Levin results in Holsety in Ch. 6, removing challenge from the game and resulting in two amazing children. Holyn x Briggid results in Faval having the highest possible HP growth rate in the game(175%) and passes Patty the ability to use B-Rank swords before promotion. Fury x Claude is great, because Sety is always good if you give him a father who uses magic, and you pass the Valkirie staff down. Fee also gains the uncanny ability to use the Thunder Sword well, as well as use B-Rank staves after promotion. EDIT: I use Arden sometimes, and since it would be invaluable to throw him away and not let him level on my upcoming ranked playthrough, I shall use him. There are only a possible 616 levels avaliable in the first half of the game, and 446 in the second half(Assuming you paired everyone), leading to 1062 possible levelups. You need to break 1000 for an A-Rank, and considering you have odd characters who will never reach level 30(Diadora, for example) it would be a waste to throw out Arden. I also never get Cuan or Ethlin to level 30, and considering you need to beat the game in under 399 turns or less(Resulting in less then 32 turns per chapter, averaged out; Give or take a few extra if you figure the prologue doesn't take that long and you have a few long chapters like Ch. 5 and 3..) you really can't abuse them. I sure am ready for an AAAA rank play~
  18. No. Usually his groups do the three headed Dragon assault and send a pack of Wyverns to each castle- Most of them suck, but the captains all have Hero Lances. Arione and his squad wait until you head east to Thracia from the second to last castle and attack. Also, if you killed Sylvia(you killed Tiltyu?) then make sure to get the Berserk staff by making Hannibal and Sharlow stand next to each other for the turn.
  19. Levin!Tiltyu Arthur Holsety says hello.
  20. Very interesting find, Vincent. So some character pairings can't use this system well? For example, the list for Levin says that his highest priority females do not include Tiltyu, so there is no way to speed the growth of them up?
  21. Why should I waste my time with Tina and the like when I will already have a capable unit(Safy) who can use the Warp Staff? Not only accounting this, but Tina must obtain an A rank. Yes. AN A RANK. In which she starts with an E according to the data on the main page(I believe it is a D). Have fun! Oho, not in the line of fire you say? 1. So you would prefer him to be dead. 2. Someone else was complaining how he cannot counter on enemy phase. So we should just leave him out in the open on enemy phase? So he can get a couple of experience points. Lol. Let's see now. M-Ups are quite frequent, granted. Warp? With some of the units that have been brought up? I'd like to see them obtain the A rank to use this staff. Rescue is almost as high, being a B Rank! And no, if Robert is killing people like he should be on Played Phase, he should be leveling up. Limited uses, lawl. I would rather conserve that staff for something more important then Status Staves, Warp Staves, and Master weapons- Such as stealing someone like Reinhardts weapons. If Tina was ever used, when she is easily surpassed by most healers.. Wyvern criticals him? Dismount feature FTW. LOL what 1. 10* 41.2 18.7 3.8 19.4 20.0 13.0 20.0 13.6 9.3 The only major difference is 7 points of HP, and the defense. Even 20/10, there isn't that big a different ;) 2. I can easily cap more then Sety and Galzus in FE5. Where are you drawing the idea that nobody can make 20/20 in a 30 Chapter game? No it is not. You capture enemies. You steal their items. You sell them. Find someone else worth the Hero Bow and we can debate that. Also, yes, you can only use the Bow on your phase. This is the flaw of an Archer. It's too bad the Archer we're debating is more then capable of defending himself. Actually, it does. Considering stuff still misses with 99% hit in this game, and things hit at 1%... Why are you comparing a Mage to an Axe Knight? I was comparing Brighton to Othin. Comparing those two is stupid. Thank you for telling me something I already know. Yet, as I said, Lara is only a Dancer. She's a shitty Thief, so why that is even brought up is beyond me. By your pace, and logic, since units are incapable of making 20/20 in this game; They would be at the same pace no matter what, so this is null.
  22. Staff experience sucks. I don't know where you've been living, but I think attacking and actually killing something with a Bow is more efficient in leveling them standing on the sidelines healing once a turn for a mere 15 experience. At Carrion, more of a chance to die. Robert should not be in the line of fire when you are going to an enemy phase. He can sure as hell level faster then your Healers, since he can kill stuff. The weapon rank arguement has been brought up; it is his flaw, yes. However, if you're actually letting him attack things, you shouldn't be having a problem.. He virtually only has to go through one Iron Bow to D. There are regular Soldiers to kill in the chapter where Robert joins, and even better, his favorite, Wyverns. Elite sword isn't bound to Carrion, I can easily toss it aside to someone else; It's not professional, so it's different. Tina and Linoan may have excellent staff useage, both with Prf weapons, but Tina comes very underleveled when you already have other healers ahead of the game(Nanna, Safy, etc.) Why is he in the line of fire. 20* HP 47.7 Str 19.9 Mag 4.8 Skl 20.0 Spd 20.0 Def 15.4 Luk 20.0 Bld 15.6 Mov 9.4 Cheapest, yes, however you should have funds avalible from selling stolen items/stolen weapons that you don't need. More might? An Iron Axe has a mere two might over an Iron Bow. WTA? 5%, lol. Oh BTW, there was something brought up called the "Hero Bow" that can double attack too. It even has equal might to that of the Hero Axe, and 25% more accuracy! Even better, it has 20 more critical then the Heroes Axe. :3 The axes you state that can hit indirect have terrible hit, minus the Pugi, which is Othin exclusive. So I lack the understanding: If he is only good for a certain period of time and no longer, why is he so high? BTW, Brighton, as I said, is only good until Chapter 7. After that, Othin easily surpasses him. Granted, but if the unit is Garbage, why would you use them? Okay, once again. She shouldn't be so high on the chart if her only utility is dancing. Sure, she can steal, but the best she'll be stealing after a certain period of time will be enemy recovery items and maybe the odd item like a Manual. Even in this case, she is in the line of fire, in which she can be easily killed, as you mentioned earlier about how she is so fragile. Meanwhile, while Lifis and Parn can defend themselves well, they can actually steal enemy weapons. Exactly. So since she is a crappy Thief, her utility is dancing. Since that is her only card, she shouldn't be so high, because dancing can only get you so far. Lara starts with an E in swords flat, yet you seem to be so fond of her. ;)
  23. Hi! So are half the characters that you've brought up, such as Mareeta, and half the people higher then him on the list(Read plz: Tina, Linoan, Carrion...). Don't see a problem with this..? Okay, so he can get hit and not recoil. But why would you have him in range of this? 65% 45% 10% 50% 60% 25% 70% 20% 1% Once again, so do half the units brought up already. Yet, you have no problem putting them high. Granted. I beg to differ. Read down.. Exactly. He's trash following those chapters, and considering you get Othin back in Chapter 7... Actually, Axes are crap in FE5. Yet you said that Bows where the worst..I could compare the statistics, if you'd like. Having a Horse is a pretty nifty tool, but you already have better units such as Fergus (Who I still feel is a little loose, considering his growths can lead to RNG Rape) or Nanna... What exactly is the list of best classes in the game, since this discussion has been brought up? Aware of this. Was pointing to wasting a Knight Proof from Thief->Rogue, then Rogue->Dancer(Which is auto), then Dancer promoting. Two Knight Proofs to fully take maximum potential from Lara. Granted, but Lifis and Parn will shine more past the Manster chapters, since Lara will probably be dancing for people. Also, her crap build and low stability will lead to her death moreso then Lifis. That's what I said. His bow level is his biggest flaw. Yet, it shouldn't take that long to grow.. Actually, yes it does. It means that she can't defend herself against even the most basic enemy units. Why would I bother with her when I have Lifis, who actually has a decent Build base and can defend himself well? I believe Lara should dance, nothing more. That IS her utility, after all.
