  1. I can't help but find Yuri to be completely obnoxious. He reads like a gary stu self-insert playing off his edginess thinking it's cool, but it's actually kind of lame.
  2. The difference in power between Gremory and Warlock is only 3 points thanks to Gremory having 2 more bonus mag than Warlock. I'll take 1 move over that even for Dorothea.
  3. It's not worth it for units with a malus in axe skill growth. Even getting them to D+ takes too long for it to be worth the investment.
  4. No, there is another huge difference between advanced and master classes. You can get into advanced classes at level 20.
  5. Anna is most similar to Ingrid and Manuela. She's basically a lesser Ingrid that comes as a free early recruit. She'd be a solid mid-tier character if not for her lack of supports.
  6. Well everyone is better off as something other than Mortal Savant. Manuela is better off as a flyer too, she's nearly statistically identical to Ingrid. Mortal Savant only requires B+ reason, so getting Manuela to a high enough reason rank by level 30 to get a decent chance of passing certification isn't that hard. Though getting Bolting in time for it to be usable is a tall order.
  7. Ingrid or Manuela have a better case with their top tier speed growth and spell lists that favor utility over raw damage. But even then they're just better off in other classes.
  8. Mortal Savant needs a top tier combat skill to elevate it. Most of the candidates for the class have poor spell lists, so the actual magic is worse than just using bows or a levin sword. The class should be built around utility spells, but none of the characters with utility spells have any reason to use the class. Crit+20 still wouldn't make the class better than warmaster, wyvern lord, or sniper for physical units (or magic weapon wielders). And it wouldn't make it better than dark knight for magic users.
  9. Hunter's Volley should definitely be higher. A guaranteed ranged double in just incredibly valuable on Maddening. The combat art alone makes sniper a better class than bow knight. Archer should be top tier too. Hit + 20 is as good as any of the blows, and definitely better than those repositioning skills.
  10. Well Enlightened One is free, not locked to level 30+, and has better stats and growths across the board. It's better than Mortal Savant in every way except for black tomefaire and 4 extra damage on Byleth's poor black magic spells aren't that big of a deal. The class is kind of wasted on Byleth though, it'd be great for someone like Manuela who actually has better spells to cast in a hybrid class. Byleth having no utility spells and only boring regular range attack spells makes him/her a poor fit for using a hybrid class. Byleth's base stats lean heavily towards using that high strength, Byleth is better with a bow than using magic. And Warmaster or Sniper are better classes for Byleth too, it's not just the flyers.
  11. It's not one speed though. Mortal Savant immediately costs you 4 speed if you're moving from assassin. Even Swordmaster has 3 more speed, though Swordmaster is a poor endgame class too. The inherent problem with Mortal Savant is hybrid classes are only potentially useful for giving utility spells to physical attackers, but utility spells are mostly faith based, and not enough people have spell lists and skills strengths that lend themselves to the class. There's just not much of a reason to want to use attack spells as a physical unit when bows and magical weapons can be used in any class and do the job better. Why would Felix ever want to use his bad spell list when he has a bow strength? Mortal Savant is just far worse for him than sniper or assassin. It's only characters like Manuela, Marianne, and Ingrid that are offered anything by Mortal Savant, and even they just have better classes to be in.
