  1. i dunno if i´d consider incomplete endings bad endings, unless they have a dialogue that says the world is destroyed mfw i abort the tyranny (its leader is a midget) When I say bad end I´m more so thinking in the way of "Grimbin executing Chrom and Co. while busting out sweet moves, before flipping the worlds light switch" if u catch my drift. Another argument against Egad: she´s an armor class without magic when she has a talent in reason.
  2. thats not the worst thing to take away lol, if theres ever an apocalypse and ur out of meds and the electricity is still working... yeah nah, a metalpipe would work better
  3. So what would be the biggest gap in achievements in terms of diffculty to, well, achieve, be you´ve done so far? Cuz I´ve been looking through the accumulation of WoW achievements (around 4500 I think XD) and damn, some of them seem like obsessions and then others are like, Gratz on the Haircut!
  4. Sure, FE could use an/more (are there any lol) officiated Game Over Bad Ends.
  5. Dumb jokes aside, naw i dont see that. Almyrans, if memory serves, are just portrayed as warmongerers while Claude has his whole unearth secrets and reform society schtick, that wouldnt work out too well imo. Then again it´s been some time and i haven´t played 3 Hopes, so I may be missing some lore. Like asking the Mongols to end Feudalism in medival France, sure, there will be no more Feudalism, because there be no more farmers (this is exaggeration and a dishonest take, probably).
  6. 1) the sliders without light control the empire no? i distinctly remember that and smol E collaborating with em for gains 2) considering the player armies travel at the speed of "we are wherever we are needed without explanation and back at the monastery to eat 2-4 times a month" maybe Edelgard made deals with the powers that be (which is to say, i dont think the writers particularly concerned themselves with the realities and logitics of moving armies in any way shape or form) 3) pretty sure mercenaries were just that; i also cant find anything other on the FEA than Kostas (a bandit) the DK (battle crazy guy?) and that kid u kill in the catacombs sus An army that isnt hers and an economy that isnt hers either, I believe? Is Byleth the divine intervention or am i forgetting something again? If she just won we wouldnt have a game on our hands, Claude is too much of a non committed fuckboy to lead an underground resistance and Dmitri would get stoned (the violent kind) after comitting terrorist acts against the "New Imperial Citizens TM" - Clearly the smartest is Corrin because they dont kill their enemies so the economy is saved. And the dumbest is Robin, cuz they could have been one sickass dragon instead they chose the power of friendship. Are they stupid?
  7. its not what i said wrote and ambition is not a noteworthy quality
  8. Xenoblade combat is bad in general, in 2 u could just roll credits after Mythra arrives and dropkicks all content down the stairwell. A whinefest about existence with a touch of all according to keikaku, wrapped in 2 button combat is what it is and they knew that wasnt enough.
  9. Brotato. Swift, easy to access, a modding community that keeps things interesting and incredibly fun to find out the different ways u can shoot, poke, punch, stab and blow up innocent eldritch creatures on their native planet. I guess it´s part of the Vampire Survivors spawned genre and if so, it is most definitely the highest this genre can go. Baller´Gate of the Third Incarnation be ballin` but it´s just another rpg at the end of the day, no amount of weird shit be fixing that. And in my head it didnt come out in 2023 anyway.
  10. Yeah, but consider the only reason your tooth is still being used is because you didnt finish the job. Really your tooth is just putting in overtime.
  11. I´m wondering, if u sharpen the Falchion, does that count as dental care? Could u bill Naga or her other self Nagi? How does Nagi feel about giving you her tooth, when clearly you´ve already lost the og ones? Is the origin of Fire Emblem blacksmithing just part of the teeth brushing routine for dragons?
  12. Why tho? To avoid abstract confusion on the content of what you might be about to read? Colour code it instead - grey-green-blue-violet-orange - and when u reach orange it loudly yells LEGENDARY! didnt PoR and that other Ike game denote relationships or base camp talks with X amount of stars to show progress?
  13. what i was referring to was you quoting the same sentence twice but the quotes are from different people (me and jotari)
  14. this looks like a prelude to a bannin I read through all of this twice and i still can´t tell what it´s about.
  15. Huh, I never noticed this. Maybe because your army starts at opposite sides of the map, depending on which one you go with? I find the map reuse more tolerable when they vary it in this sort of way. Down to the Countryside with you! Or up to the Mountains, it's your call. what happen here
  16. Gonna be honest, dancers cant surpass the units they refresh and a guy who joins in 15 outta 26 can be neither 9.5 nor a round 10.
  17. Don´t worry, SoV deserves every rant coming it´s way. What do you mean bro? You have guy with no move and sword, guy with no move and stick, guy with mov and stick, girl with mov and stick but no attack stat, guy with no mov and fuck you range and MaGiC GiRls/gUys but still no mov. Diversity accomplished. And then you put all that shit on maps with 1 tumbleweed per 2x2 line/column and we have a game on our hands, exciting. Don forget that class diversity gets enhanced by the entirety of Valencia being made of french people, this being the reason why they can hold either a sword (stale baguette) or bread (fresh baguette) and axes are for the filthy, smelly, cake-eating peasantry. If stupidity were a skill these ladies would have infinite accuracy. Normally u have good units that can kill enemies, but not in SoV. It´s part of the process of Jeigan indoctrination and we trust Kaga the process. Early Fire Emblem installs failsafes for idiots children so that they too may see the credits roll, most often in the form of "powerful mage guy who could end the story if he so wished but then we dont have a game to sell so shut the fuck up about story and move those pixels." on god, fr fr Imagine having working difficulty options instead of inflation porn sliders, couldn´t be FE. There´s a tremendous difference between effort and being successful (win screen) in Fire Emblem and chess. And I imagine a large part of FE´s appeal is the potential ease of success.
  18. Guidelines: 2.1.) mention the diffculty on which you rate the unit 2.2.) what classes your unit went through, what skills they had and so on; don´t consider obviously suboptimal builds. 2.3.) no DLC rings, no non-unit DLC bonuses 2.4.) no grinding in skirmishes 2.5.) no rng abuse (no resetting for bond rings) 2.6.) cooking is allowed 2.7.) ratings to be given in the format X/10 2.8.) if it isn´t mentioned above, it´s fair game 2.9.) no "Kagetsu exists and obsoletes Lapis, 0/10", explain your rating 2.10.) DLC rings may be considered Average stat calculator: Average Stats - Fire Emblem: Engage (FE17) (triangleattack.com) Nel Rafal Zelestia Gregory Madeline
  19. So from the Intermission thread some folks wanted a thread to discuss ratings they changed their minds on, so here we go. Below be @lenticulars list, shamelessly stolen, sorted by 10-1 rating: The DLC units will follow later today in a single thread, once I got all my info together.
  20. the cringe cave is made of cringe why even go in there, like what for
  21. That´s generally the impression I´m under that the dlc characters just.. aren´t all that used? At least impression by feedback in this threads and the Nel thread which was meager. I think I´mma wait till Sunday this or Monday next week with this and then see where we stand. I second this. I overall like how the rankings came out, but there's several placings that I feel would at least be interesting to discuss (Goldmary having a considerable higher score than Saphir and Lindon for example). A single thread is probably fine though, since there's likely a lot of units people just agree on. So just post a thread with the above list (or maybe I´ll shamelessly snag lenticulars list for visualization purposes) and let people throw stones at who they want? Maybe with a Vote set up to see if there´d be specific interest to discuss a character in a separate topic?
  22. throw em all in a positional-command menu to differentiate from refresh and rally, make em available for everyone and dependant on body/con-stat I´m more partial to the Fates crate. Light rune in Blazing Blade - PoR?
  23. I don´t think so? Like, not even remotely? I swear @Jotari had a topic about class combos we´ve not had yet, but I couldn´t find it on the swift. SF won´t let me quote but this still from you: Yes, yes there is. When you make a build for a character you first look at what they be good at, what they be bad at and then you decide what you wanna do with it. Fates is an excellent to mediocre example with it´s class dualism in the joining units and the choices of alternate classes afforded to the player. Sure you could make Nyx a Swordmaster. It´s just not gonna work all that well, unless you throw ressources at her like crazy and even at the best of times you´d have an extremely flimsy levinsword user with some serious accuraccy issues who explodes whenever a ninja looks at her, but yeah SM Nyx is possible with a cost. Weapons have nothing to do with TH class and unit balance, it´s that WLs/Pegs stand far and wide above the rest of the classes in stats and move and on place two we get everything that gets the chance to double attack. Add that the game has like 3 unique students/house (including the damn lord), the rest are either copy pasted across all 3 houses or only between 2 houses + monastery recruitables are either "I´m you in the future but worse" or Jeritza. Anyway, to be not a total downer, mid map objective changes and more dynamic maps in general, both in total map objective as well as map features. I´m thinking about a Vestaria Saga chapter whose number eludes me rn, but the objective turns from "seize/kill" boss methinks to "fuck off" when enemies catch up and then we throw in Dragon Veins and other shenangians - I think VS chapter 15 has a dragon attack semi randomly because you make noise in it´s territority? We constantly find old shit in the forests anyway, be it some ancient coins, mass graves, or WW2 bombs some of which could be integrated into FE.
  24. Below the ratings for the base game units: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Anyway, I made this topic to ask what ya´ll wanna do with the DLC units, considering the near non existent response to Nel and the rule amendment suggested by Snowfire: as well as the variability in their recruitment mentioned by samthedigital:
