I feel like at this point the only two possibilities are that this is gonna have a massive DLC, or it’s not getting anything. If it was something smaller they’d probably have already announced it, so I really can’t see it being anything but a big chunk of content. Tbh, if all we got were the missing 5, Randolph and Judith, along with the missing classes and some new paralogues, I’d be more than happy. A new route would be incredible tho, so I’d be more than down for that.

I definitely agree with the Sreng character. If I recall, I think his name is actually Leif, I could be misremembering but I think in one of the books, it mentions a Sreng heir or something being sent to House Gautier as a peace sign or something. I feel like fleshing him out would be interesting. We’d be able to get a Sreng perspective, and he has an almost good relationship with Sylvain. I really thought we’d see House Kleiman get fleshed out. To be honest there’s so many house heads who should’ve gotten unique models but didn’t. Like they don’t have to be anything special, literally just a unique face would do a lot to expand the world, cuz having these characters as faceless deepens a lot of impact they could have.

DLC isn’t looking too likely rn which is a massive shock tbh. Thought it was a lock for sure

Little let down there’s no Three Hopes DLC, I feel like this might mean there’s none? I can’t imagine any reason not to show it now. I hope I’m wrong cuz I really want some. In work so was only skimming through the direct. Haven’t properly looked at the Engage trailer, and I didn’t look at any leaks, so I was surprised. Will analyse the trailer later. BotW2 finally having a name and release is so hype to me that everything else doesn’t really matter.I’ve been waiting so long. Just need to adjust to not calling it BotW2 haha. TotK it is.

Whatever the dlc is, I really hope it’s designed with people who have already beaten the game in mind. With Age Of Calamity I found the DLC to be super grindy because I had already 100% the game, so had to constantly replay missions to get Robbie’s materials, whereas I feel if you had the DLC at the start of the game it would be much more enjoyable. That problem should hopefully be less jarring this time tho, since you are doing NG+ each time whereas in AOC the map was it.

I definitely think there will be a sizeable amount of story content in the dlc, and I feel like it gonna focus on characters who appear in the game but aren’t playable. Perhaps that’s the church, I feel like it will be. Regardless, now that the Wolves are in any DLC is just a welcome bonus for me since everyone I want is in.

So now that we have Wolves confirmed for base game and potential church (not confirmed), what is everyone’s perception on DLC now?

Okay I’m going to work rn so don’t have time to go in depth into my thoughts but I’m summary: AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH OH MY GOD IM SO HYPED RIGHT NOW Wolves appearing audibly made me cheer which was a shock, and everything just looked so hype. I don’t have time to analyse the trailer but holy crap am I hyped. I think the game is actually gonna surpass my expectations

I didn’t even know that was a thing tbh. I’m out of the loop with gaming conventions and stuff tbh, become a very casual fan. Hmm that throws a wrench in the works. I would’ve expected a Friday trailer but Im expecting it in a direct so I guess it’ll be sometime next week. I don’t mind really, we are only like 2 and a bit weeks away from the full release, and tbh I’d like go in and be surprised, but if a demo drops and there is a data mine I’ll be looking at it cuz I have no self control haha

So we got 2 black eagle conversations, 2 blue lion conversations, so it’s expected that tomorrow will be another golden deer convo. That means we’ll more than likely get something different Thursday. Not saying it will be anything big, but the pattern will be over. Either it’ll be a convo with a miscellaneous character, or something completely different. I wonder if that could mean we might get a Nintendo direct Thursday. IIRC most directs tend to fall on a Thursday (don’t quote me on this it’s just something sticking out in my mind). The reason I say that is because I can’t see a trailer dropping without being in a direct at this point, and with the demo scare recently, I could definitely see them dropping a trailer Thursday, meaning a direct might be in the cards.

I feel like Ashen Wolves won’t get a full route, but something more akin to Cindered Shadows. I’d love to be wrong tho, and I also would love to have a full route since that implies a full roster so 4 new characters, which I will never complain about.

^^ Thats actually a great way of putting crossover characters in. I guess I always think of crossovers as being annoying because I’m stuck in the marvel mindset in movies where they shove cameos and characters in your face that I personally find detract from the overall experience, but as long as they take more of a backseat while still being present, it’s okay. I would prefer the focus to be expanding Fodlan with in universe characters. Explore some of the lands around Fodlan, explore Sreng, explore house Kleiman, explore family relations, the agarthans, Indech and Macuil, even just more commoners, so many things that could be expanded upon, and create interesting dynamics. If not present in base game, this is where I feel the focus should go. I don’t object to crossover characters, hell there are characters I really want, but I just feel like Fodlan has so much potential, they could easily get 6 waves of DLC from just Fodlan alone.

Yes I always found it odd. I think having an heir of Kleiman who was a similar age to Dimitri when the Tragedy of Duscur occurred would be an interesting dynamic, and have him grow to realise his future region was gotten through a genocide after having a fairly privileged life would be good. Would make for good supports anyway imo.

Monica not appearing here is a good sign in my opinion. It either means we definitely have another trailer, or they’re holding back showing off characters, which bodes well either way. I definitely think we’ll get a Church trailer after Golden Deer next week, then beyond that I’m not sure. I would love an Ashen Wolves trailer, especially if they add new characters, but I could see them being in a trailer of miscellaneous characters that includes Monica. If they want a few more new characters, they could have an heir to House Kleiman to have some interesting interactions with Dedue, a Sreng character for interactions with Sylvain, and an Albinean character, to name a few. So far I’ve liked all the designs. Unpopular opinion but I really like Caspar’s design, but it’s probably just bias since I love him so much. Ferdie is also the perfect middle ground between the two designs I think.

From what I remember the age of calamity demo released like 3ish weeks before the released date, so I’d expect it to drop at the start of June. Which, kind of crazy to think about, is about three weeks away itself.
