  1. As someone who played through this game in it's entirety, yeah I agree. I tolerated the touch screen for most of it but it was definitely getting on my nerves by the end On the topic of the DS games though, I really wish Linebeck became a recurring character in the series in the same vain as Beetle or Tingle. Like could you imagine him in Breath of the Wild doing whatever. Course now that I say that I'm going to play Tears of the Kingdom and learn he's in that one

  5. When you're the continent who drew those racial lines I was talking about earlier in the first place...yeah. It's not just the Americas either, most places that were previously under European colonial control have a very skin color focus on race, South Africa, Israel, and India to name a few. Racism exists everywhere but the colonial days definitely had an effect on how it is perceived in certain parts of the world. No worries. We'll keep it civil. Part of me likes to think I'd say even in the event of a civil war just because I can't imagine leaving. But if one were to actually happen? I can't say for certain how'd I feel.

Same goes with natives, they weren't men, they were savages, and not included in this proclamation including "all men" The Black Panther Party tried back in the 60s but the CIA shot that down (Literally) pretty quickly

Personally I agree with you, in a vacuum your race shouldn't matter, but here the racial lines drawn centuries ago have dictated the politics going forward for hundreds of years and it is impossible for everyone on all sides to just collectively "ignore race" overnight. I get it, in the long term we should try and focus on making sure everyone is on the same footing and that your race shouldn't have to play into anything, but at the state we are currently at, it's impossible to be an activist and not acknowledge race when that's what half the fight is about, and laws that protect certain people is the best short term solution we have to keep more people from dying. For indigenous people, one of the greatest moments in modern history was when the Indian Child Welfare act was introduced. It sparked genuine anxiety when the law was brought to court again this year with the possibility of being kicked out Luckily, it was voted to stay.

It is good to remember that how the America's view on race is much different then how the rest of the world sees it because of our history After the great reset in the 1500s, most all countries in the Americas didn't develop much of an ethno-national identity since the majority people living there weren't natives and largely spoke the same language across the board, so really all that mattered was your skin color. And unlike most of Europe specifically, slavery based on race was a homeland institution that dictated a lot of The US's economy and politics surrounding our government, it's why we had a fucking civil war over it, and the problems relating to slavery extended far beyond the war as neo-slavery forced upon by southern democrats (Soon to be republicans) lasted to as late as the 1950s. To this day when it comes to politics you can notice a very striking racial difference between Right leaning and left leaning people, it's pretty much "Most republicans are close minded white people, and most democrats consist of literally everyone else" In the old world it may be different, but in the Americas, because we are so diverse and because many of our politics reflect that diversity, saying "You should just ignore race" to an American lefty will just make you sound to them like a centrist trying not to acknowledge the racial discrimination that happens within the government and it's communities. Hell it wasn't too long ago that the US no-fly list was leaked and a good portion of the names there were Arab children, or even just people who had Arab names like Muhammad

  10. I managed to sort things out with the clinic finally, hopefully I can get an appointment setup soon. My depression state lasted longer than I expected but I'm getting better. I don't have any insightful words at the moment, but I relate almost too much. >Me looking at this as someone who stopped playing at the second mission I bet Fates styled portraits done by an artist would be interesting to see, though probably would be pretty time consuming

For most Fire Emblem games it's clear that peasants aren't as tied to the land as serfs would've been, usually being free to move around and do whatever they like, and I don't recall ever seeing a local lord for these small villages which makes me wonder how these communities even operate for the crown. Do they have elected mayors who collect taxes? Does Marth have to go to every individual one to collect them himself? Or are these villages secretly anarchist communes that pretend to worship the monarchy so they'll leave them alone? There is certainly still a class divide as the peasants are kept in poverty, so maybe there's some in universe system where the peasants choose not to become the protagonist and become the new king or whatever happened in SoV.
  18. History has a cruel sense of humor. I have played every mainline Mario game but I always seem to fall of them in the middle and forget everything about them afterward, like have almost beaten Mario Galaxy back in the day but I honest to god could not tell you about a single level in that game. That being said playing the first four would get some use out of my NSO, and they're nice turn off your brain type of games which are pretty much the only games I have energy for these days. ...Except for the lost woods bit in Mario world, I never figured out that one Now that I think about it, I did also beat 3D World, so that makes three Mario games.
  19. After playing AC2 again that marks the second time this year I've killed the pope in a video game Fivehead Edelgard is certainly an iconic creation Thinking about it, I'm pretty sure Super Mario Bros NES and Super Mario Odyssey are the only two Mario games I've actually beaten.

This one can be tricky because of the amount of reinforcements so my strategy is basically to get an archer up to Aversa as quick as possible Going forward I'll probably willingly leave Tiki out since she has no pair up partner and I can't be bothered to train her up right now Other than the race to the finish, the normal strategy is no different, just have two teams make there way slowly up the map while keeping just enough distance from all of the reinforcement spawns to not be sniped Wow, what a terrible bind I've found myself in! ...Such a shame I didn't have an assassin with 12 movement to KO the boss. Gave the kill to Noire so she can level up a bit And that stage is complete! This one did take a bit of time because I had to be careful with unit placement to account for reinforcements but the last chapter till the (from what I remember) easy to beat endgame is done! Our journey is almost at it's end
