I had the same problem. In fact, my pro-controller began to fail before my joy-cons, which was very disappointing. Thankfully I've had success cleaning the joysticks with a q-tip and some isopropyl alcohol. The problem definitely returns after a while, but this seems to work as a short-term fix for me. I find it hard to justify buying replacement controllers, since I imagine the same exact thing will just happen in another year's time...

That sounds fantastic!! I hope to be able to chat with you about it when I've played through it!

Nice to meet you!! Woah, so many characters. I've got a lot to look forward to! I notice that FE7 is top of your list in your signature. That bodes well for me ๐

Hey everyone! I'm enjoying my time here at the Forest so far, and look forward to getting to know you all even more! I was just wondering, does anyone know of a casual hangout/chat thread? I've seen a couple that are hangouts for a specific subject, but I'm curious to see if there is a place for people to gather and chat about anything in a thread. I always enjoy that small sense of community such places can harbor! I've considered making one of my own at some point, maybe themed after a meeting place or crossroads in a forest. I assume this kinda thing would be posted under Far from the Forest. I'm going to spend some more time in the forums in general before trying to create such a thing, just in case anything already exists, or it clashes with something. Let me know if you have any recommendations, or if a neutral hangout place is something that appeals to you! ๐

I definitely would like that! I can't believe the selection is as limited as it is, really. Especially considering how starved the overall user interface experience is for expression of individuality. I could see any of the Three Houses characters as a no-brainer. I doubt they would want to add too many from past games as not to flood the selection with FE characters!

Iโm definitely gonna! All three GBA games are high priority for me

I swear I responded to this earlier! I must not have posted it.. I havenโt played Conquest yet! Iโve been holding out until I pick up a physical copy. Rebecca looks like a fun character! Iโll do my best ๐

FE7 Developer Interview Translations (from 2003)
Tylwyth Teg replied to Kirokan's topic in Fire Emblem
These were fascinating to read! Thank you for translating! Iโm just about to play FE7 for the first time. Reading this really builds up my anticipation! Iโm almost able to suspend disbelief and imagine Iโve travelled back in time and Iโm anticipating the gameโs release. -

Tylwyth Teg replied to Whitfield1999's topic in NES and SNES Era
Very nice!! Bet it looks great on that TV, too -
Hi! I've played Awakening, Fates (Birthright. Need to get my hands on Conquest), Echoes and Three Houses. I've played a bit of Sacred Stones on 3DS, but I'd like to play it physically. I'm looking forward to playing some of the older games! Also, thanks for teaching me a new word. Slugabed!

That is quite a lot we have in common - I hope to see you around the forums!

Thanks for the multiquote tip. I was wondering about that! And thanks for the Shadow Dragon tip. It's definitely on the list of games I'd like to play this year!

"Being stupid at video games as a kid" stories
Tylwyth Teg replied to Dragoncat's topic in General Gaming
I have a couple of good (terrible) moments from when I first played Pokemon Crystal as a kid. - I didn't know shiny Pokemon were a thing. I encountered a shiny Butterfree and casually knocked it out, not realising I wouldn't encounter a shiny Pokemon again for 20 years. - Threw a master ball at a Kangaskhan, which I proceeded to never use. When my friends asked me why I wasted it, I told them my dad did it... Fast forward a number of years and my little brother (ten years younger than I) was playing Pokemon X. He encountered a shiny Basculin, panicked and handed me the 3DS so I could catch it for him. This was my chance to be a cool big brother! ...And I knocked it out in one hit. "You'll probably never see another shiny pokemon..." I told him. The very next day he encountered another shiny pokemon. -
Haha!! I wouldn't even know how! I'm only where I am now due to absolute dumb luck ๐ Thanks for the welcome! Nice to meet you ๐

I was a Gaian for YEARS! I was very proud of my 13000+ posts (even today, 14 years after making my account, that averages at 2 and a half posts per day haha!) I have such fond memories. I made friends in a thread called Gin's Spoony Day, which was a quest thread as well as being a chronic illness awareness thread. I imagine a large majority of my posts were made here!! It was wonderful to have an online space with a small community of friends around the world. I loved it so much, I even remember loading it up on the internet browser on my Nintendo Wii so I could make posts from my bedroom! I've tried returning to Gaia a number of times in recent years. I tried reviving my own quest thread, and reconnected with a good friend from the Netherlands, but it has never come close to capturing that precious sense of community I had once found there. Without the people I had met in Spoony Day, my life genuinely would have taken a very different route. Anyway, I'm glad to hear you're enjoying Gaia online!! I'm not sure if the items I own hold much wealth anymore, but maybe I can help you with some of your wishlist items!

I wasn't going to reply to this thread, but then I saw that the OP is from my home country, Wales, and it brought such a smile to my face! I'm from North Wales, and I now live in the US (she's American and one of us had to move to make it work). I don't think I realised how much "home" meant to me until I left, and so now whenever I meet anyone who is from Wales I feel instantly delighted!

That is very useful information! I definitely enjoy a little more challenge in my Fire Emblem games (though I've not braved lunatic levels!) so this is great to know!

Canas has an amazing monocle, so he'll definitely be on my radar ๐ Great to meet you!

Thank you Benice! It's nice to meet you! And thank you for the suggestions! I look forward to getting to know these characters. And I'm sure that, before long, I'll know exactly what Hector mode is ๐ It's cool to know that this game will offer reasons for multiple playthroughs

Hi everyone! Nice to meet you all. I'm very excited to become a part of this wonderful Fire Emblem community! I've spent the past week or so slowly exploring your forums, and they seem like such a wholesome and united place to be. I've long been searching for a corner of the internet to call home, and I'm hopeful that such a great community as yours will be the place! I'm 28, and originally from Wales. I now live with my wife in the US. I'm an illustrator and, when the world isn't in lockdown, I work at a bookshop. I would love to be a librarian, and illustrate alongside that! My Fire Emblem history began with Awakening. I had very little knowledge of the series before then, but I bought the game upon release and immediately fell in love. My wife, who was not a gamer in the past, has recently become VERY into Fire Emblem and I feel my enthusiasm growing once more. I've just ordered myself a copy of FE7, and I'm really looking forward to delving into the series's history. I'm already infatuated with the sprite animations for the battles. Any recommendations for favourite characters in that game that I should keep an eye out for?
