It sucks, but Fates and Blazing Blade really benefited from having a dancer among its main characters. Pretty much ever other title in FEH besides FEH itself has a pretty bad and/or limited selection of dancers / refreshers.
I honestly really hate the way dancers are distributed in this game, tbh.
Heroes, FE7, and Fates get all the amazing premium dancers because of the fairies, Ninian, and Azura. Who yes, are important, but it certainly doesn't help me with limited battles that aren't one of those games.
3H is pretty well off on dancers because Dorothea's later two alts are at least good. Genealogy/Thracia doesn't really have a single standout dancer like Ninian and Azura, but the sheer quantity of dancers is a lot. (They also have Duo Sigurd.) PoR shares Harmonic Azura at least, but RD only has the herons and the very old Hoshidan Festival Micaiah and Elincia. SoV only has the rather old Soiree Berkut and Rinea. Binding Blade has the two Larums (neither of whom have a prf) and Sacred Stones only has Tethys. Awakening has four very old dancers, the most recent of which is that flying Olivia who is also the only one with a prf, and I swear Archanea still only has Phina. EDIT: Oh, and Engage only has Harvest Seadall.
The distribution of dancers is plain embarrassing.

This banner sure is a banner.
I'm a teensy bit angry that Hayato gets to be added as a normal unit on a banner, like Ewan several years ago, while IS put Tormod in seasonal hell. But that's a "me" problem.
EDIT: Also, Candace isn't a - bad - option, per say, but with so many glaring omissions and the rate of banners being slow as molasses, I really would've preferred Shura or Percy or some otherwise playable character ;/ EDIT2: Fuck emojis.

I guess it tracks since Lissa already was younger than most the cast but its still silly. I know we had literal baby Est too but she was an accessory rather than an actual unit.
Isn't Young Est basically how old Young Lissa is? At the very least, I feel like post-time skip Lissa should be about the same age as New Mystery Est.

It's also funny how they keep on running away from the canon SoV child designs.
I feel like the first three games were chosen because of that one FEH comic from a long time ago. And Awakening has canon designs for young Emmeryn, Chrom, and Lissa so that's about half the work done there. But they continue to skip over SoV and made up entirely new designs for FE7.
And because the child banners are so mired in canon, it's not like we really get anything too interesting for these characters anyway. Lissa getting an axe is the most interesting thing that's happened with the child banners, and even then she canonically can wield one so it isn't too left field.

I never said that it broke the lore. I said that it broke the CONVENTION of the previous banners and that I, personally, didn't like it.

I'm not a fan of duo f!Robin and Chrom for the same reason I wasn't a fan of duo Mark and Lyn. I don't like how they broke the convention from the first three years of making the characters who already knew each other the duo units into making the avatar meet the lord as a child. Oh well, this banner is pretty skippable for me even though I'd like m!Robin.
Also, Emmeryn's art looks bad.

Ah, okay.
In that case, I guess I have no idea. Unless they really do decide to put in a new banner with 8% heroes for this year's Golden Week.
Maybe they're planning on adding a 4th unit to these 8% banners or something? I dunno, it feels like these legendaries/mythic/emblem units slowly get more and more bloated as time goes on with no good solution to run the ones further back in a timely manner.

Okay, like ... did anybody on the Heroes team fucking playtest Ike? At all? Because this is fucking ridiculous. Both his def and res are high, he has damage reduction, HP regeneration, and fucking null counterattack so you can't even snipe him safely. And I don't know if you can tank him either, everyone fucking died if they got into battle with Ike at all. I know the trailer showed him taking out Rearmed Reinhardt (which is dumb in itself because Reinhardt was only released two and a half months ago), but Ivy was dying to him too even with Ike on Haze terrain, and even after switching seals around Ratatoskr would just fall short of taking him out by like 1-8 HP.
The only reason I actually managed to beat him was because Ivy equipped miracle and savage blow seal to chip down Ike's health through attacking the enemies around him, and I managed to position everyone and have the right seals for Ratatoskr to do just enough damage. And sure, my team does not have merges, but imagine how someone who got less lucky with certain unit pulls/merges or just wasn't able to strategize their way out of this would do.
Ike's battle just feels unreasonable.

In addition to getting snubbed here, Path of Radiance still has no Legendary Heroes or Mythic Heroes.
Honestly, I feel like PoR's lack of mythic/legendary units is mostly because of how direct of a sequel RD is. Genealogy's 2nd gen and Thracia are pretty much concurrent so shared characters like Leif and Nanna and Finn can easily count for Thracia and it doesn't feel weird. FE7 is a prequel to FE6, but don't share the same lord(s). Not to mention that Eliwood and Hector (and presumably Lyn) are way past their peak so making them FE6 legendary heroes with their younger appearances doesn't fit.
Meanwhile, PoR takes place only 3 years before RD and Ike is very much active in both. RD is also the game where Ike is at his "peak", defeating the goddess the entirety of Tellius worships and is generally meant to be "older and wiser" (even if I personally feel he's a bit duller ...). Using PoR Ike instead of RD Ike just feels like you're pulling him from a point that isn't his peak, whereas the rest of the legendary heroes do feel like they're being pulled from their peak, so that's probably why PoR has no legendary units.
If any character was to be a PoR legendary, it'd have to be someone who's nonexistent for the entirety of RD. Like Greil. Or Ashnard.
What I hate the most about the various Ike alts is that all but one of them are swords and all but one of them are infantry. Valentine's armored Ike really could have been something besides a red sword, since it's not like he even got fucking Ragnell (or any prf weapon, period). It's also kind of weird how the only other seasonal alt he actually got is the obligatory child alt (that I wouldn't be surprised if all the lords get eventually) whereas most other CYL winners who are not Alm or Celica get various seasonal alts and Ascended/Rearmed alts up the wazoo. EDIT: I forgot about Fallen Ike, but I would've easily traded this non-canon yet-another-infantry-sword alt for literally anything else more interesting.

... Y'know, I got a really crazy theory here. I wonder if it's possible that IS doesn't actually like Ike very much. Not only does he have comparatively fewer alts than certain other CYL winners (who either won the same year as him or even later), not only does he lack variety amongst the few alts than he does have more than any other CYL winner, but being one of the earlier Emblem heroes released means he's gonna be powercrept sooner and he's gonna pale in comparison to later released Emblem heroes. Similar to his legendary version, which is now very bad and doesn't have good personal skills and got his weapon refined at a lower power level time. Marth makes sense to release as the first Emblem Hero; Ike isn't a logical second choice by any metric either in-universe or out of universe.
Or maybe I'm just crazy. That's entirely possible, I haven't been sleeping well since the DST time change.

With Setsuna, Beruka and Peri, it's actually ridiculous that those three have all gotten nothing. In CYL8, we had:
- Setsuna (174th) placing one spot higher with one more vote than Ilyana
- Peri (164th) placing directly behind Kagero with just four less votes
- Beruka (143rd) placing slightly above Elise (145th) and slightly below Hinoka (140th)
Yeah, it's bizarre how none of Setsuna, Beruka, and Peri have ever gotten anything when we have Kagero and Hana sucking up all the resplendent and seasonal alts.
Tsubaki may not be ranked high anymore, but I think he could've totally gotten a throwaway TT+ alt, especially considering that they gave Bartre and Zelot alts. I mean, he wouldn't be the worst scoring dude to get an alt. Also wouldn't mind Fates Arthur getting something so he isn't stuck with only crappy base version.

Hana's art style looks very similar to her base art.
But it's also kind of ridiculous that she gets to have two alts and a resplendent before other retainers like Tsubaki and Setsuna who are stuck with literally nothing ever.

I got a random Ascended Ced as a free summon on one of the revival banners. Guess the game felt a little bad about me not getting Ascended Merric and gave me a different ascended male green mage instead. He's new and I wanted him, so I'm happy. Better than any of the actual focus units on that banner.

This is why they should've never wasted both Nyna and Elice on the same banner. Especially when they just made Elice a shitty 4-star instademote.

In this case, Yuliya was probably just a victim of circumstance since we just recently got two 5 star staff units added to the general pool.
Speaking of Thracia, they got pretty blessed when it comes to staff luck ... except for Nanna. Who is the most important of all the staff users we have so far here.
Also, there's no 5-star red here. There's no red unit at all!

Of course they'd drop an Archanean banner with characters I actually want when I need to save up for AHR.

An experience.
Like I already stated, my free pull on the spring banner was a Spring Sylvain even though all I wanted was Spring Mirabilis. I did end up getting her on pull 10, but ran out of orbs and couldn't pull the one red orb on her circle so guess I'm not getting Chloe. (It's fine, I don't really care for either of the ladies and would've only wanted them for Harmonic scoring purposes.)
On the revival banner, got a random Sanaki to add to my passive merge project of her. And on the legendary banner I was aiming for primarily Alear but got my secondary option, Gotoh. I'm actually cool with this because Gotoh's colorsharing options when he comes back are not great for me.
Now, if only any of these characters wanted to get good natures ... Sylvain and Gotoh are both -atk and Mirabilis is +spd -def.

Clearly FEH didn't know enough lore to realize that Sylvain isn't Inigo or Virion.
Either that or FEH is a weird combination of lazy and disregardful of other games to change existing characters' personalities to things they were not. Looking at the utter failure that was their attempt to characterize Wil. And being afraid of portraying Shinon as the racist ass he is and making him some jerk with a heart of gold when he's a lot more of a dick than Heroes thinks he is.

Both would've been new and I wouldn't have complained getting either as the freebie, but I did prefer Peony slightly more. Still, I'd been expecting an Alear win so I wouldn't be disappointed when Peony lost that now I'm just kinda confused.

I agree it's not amazing, but 3H is probably still slightly better off than some of the other games like Binding Blade and SoV, especially since Winter Dorothea was at least on a sparkable seasonal banner.
They should also let other units besides Dorothea be a dancer, since it wasn't locked to her by canon in 3H anyway.
