  1. This topic is basically what it says on the tin, who would be a really bizarre, unexpected, but at the same time somewhat doable (in that they're a video game character, not a meme pick like Shrek or Goku) in Smash bros and how would they play? This does not take into account things like copyright, feasability of actually appearing in Smash, etc.
  2. Just a sprite dump of various Rivals of Aether sprites I made, some I made full mods out of, most of them I have not.
  3. I actually forgot that Thieves use the Ocean Seal to promote in Sacred Stones. Yet again, Colm would not really be seeing that much combat anyway due to his class and Ross would likely get more mileage out of promoting. The game gives you Rennac later on if you want a Rouge, and if you want an Assassin you can promote one of your Myrmidons to the class.
  4. Ross is the best one, gameplay wise, due to joining very early and thus being able to be trained decently early on, assuming no grinding. He also has exclusive access to the Pirate class line (and thus the Berzerker), giving good reason to train him as well, plus if he goes Pirate he doesn't need to compete with anyone to promote. Amelia is pretty fun to use (primarily for the novelty of an armor knight/general that doubles) if you manage to train her, but in terms of efficiency she is either somewhat redundant with 4 semi-decent mounted units with better availability or is in the class with the worst movement. Ewan is rather hard to train without grinding since he joins pretty late, even with 1-2 range. He can potentially be used if you want a second Summoner (which is much better than Druid imo) alongside Knoll, though it would require a lot of investment.
  5. Probably also because earlier games with supports limited the number you could see in some way - you have to actively work towards them in the gba games and Path of Radiance limited each character to viewing 5 support convos period. Awakening removed the limit of the number of supports you can see (except for S Supports, which you can only see one per pair), and thus you can theoretically see most of the non-S supports in a single playthrough.
  6. Reaper: -Promoted Infantry Unit -Wields Dark Magic and Axes Skills: -Lifeleech: Heals a percent of health upon landing an attack. Unlike Sol, this isn't really based on the damage dealt. -Regenerator: Chance to recover a percentage of health at the start of a turn. Boosts HP, Luck, and Skill. Penalizes Defense, Resistance, and Speed. This class name is hilariously edgy, I know, tho the main idea is that it is an HP-based tanking class with ways to recover health.
  7. Knoll from Sacred Stones. While you get him pretty late, he's your only real option for a Summoner unless you feel like training Ewan. From personal experience, his summons are incredibly useful for drawing enemy aggro, which is a rather useful ability to have in the upcoming chapters, including the first chapter you can use him due to him starting at level 10 and the ability to get a Master Seal near the starting location. Plus he can potentially chip in some nice ranged damage, even with the nerf to Dark Magic, and heal allies with staves. Summoner is also such a unique class, I'd love to see additional classes with unique skills in later games.
  8. While people say that Fates has the majority of the representation, I'm pretty sure that's due to Fates having a lot of major characters to begin with - the vanilla representation is Corrin and all eight Royal Siblings.
  9. The fighters' pass we all needed but nobody deserved
  10. Made another sprite batch. The first three are other Rivals of Aether workshop characters, the last one is owned by me.
  11. The last one isn't exactly Petey Piranha, but rather my OC Verdant, a Fiery Dino Piranha.
  12. I just edited some GBA Fire Emblem Battle sprites so that they are some of my OCs. EDIT: Added some more edited sprites I made, of the four Rivals of Aether modded characters that make up the "Diamonds in the Rough".
  13. For Fire Emblem Characters, I feel like Leonie is rather overhated, as the stuff people bring up are her supports with Byleth and to a lesser extent, Marianne. Admittedly, her C and B supports with Byleth show her at her worst. Outside of her C and B supports with Byleth, I find her tomboyish personality rather charming and a neat foil to characters like Hilda.
  14. Garreg Mach could make for an interesting stage to represent Three Houses, a story mode level based on it could be a defense map... but it would also be interesting for, say, a History Mode battle based on Crimson Flower to have a reenactment of when you attack it alongside the other Black Eagles. A boat map-themed level could be pretty fun, like a port stage or just a level that takes place on various boats (doesn't have to be from a specific game) The Dragon's Gate could make for a cool Blazing Blade-themed map, maybe including an outside area and an inside area, referencing the initial attack on it and the final chapter, respectively.
  15. True, though he was revealed to be behind the main conflict of the current arc (i.e., Corrin's disappearance).
  16. I haven't played Fates, but Iago imo was probably the best-used villain of the three - Validar was mainly in the story to re-tell some story beats from Awakening (which is fine but feels like a wasted opportunity), and Gharnef mainly appears in the story so you have someone to fight in the first World Tree.
  17. I feel like many issues fans have with this game can be solved if this game got additional support and DLC (Not too sure if a full-fledged sequel is likely, but I think it's somewhat more probable to see a Legends-styled expansion and additional DLC). Mechanically, it's my favorite Warriors game thanks to many mechanics to it (such as stats adding more diversity between the cast, crest skills, the pair-up and support mechanics adding some fun inter-character interactions, as well as how this game refined many mechanics from Hyrule Warriors, such as weak point gauges being able to be revealed via certain attacks rather than needing to wait for them). Also, while there are clones, pretty much every playstyle is worth using.
  18. I feel like it would be better if the Villains had different movesets (even in another update or something, they can still have another moveset; heck, enemy Wizzro and player Wizzro play by different rules in Hyrule Warriors). I had an idea of having Iago use a trap-based playstyle a la Wizzro or to a lesser extent Yuga; and Darios being like a playable Velezark (i.e. having attacks similar to ones that Velezark uses, but scaled down to fit a playable character rather than a boss). I don't really have much of an idea of what Gharnef's playstyle would be like, and imo Validar should be replaced with a different Awakening villain, like Gangrel or Walhart.
  19. Sacred Stones was my first. -Give the player an early game Dark Mage. Your only options for Dark Magic users are Ewan and Knoll, both of whom join rather late. -Maybe make Myrrh's dragonstone unbreakable or let you get spares? I haven't gotten far enough in the game to when you can use Myrrh.
  20. I was personally hoping for Dr. Coyle, but I'm pretty happy with Min Min despite how I don't really play Smash anymore.
  21. I reccomend you pick it up, it plays very well, and there are several very good characters, both in the base game and available as mods (No, I'm not talking about op meme characters like Ronald).
  22. I'm a mod creator for Rivals of Aether, having made some mods that are meant to be on par with the main cast in terms of balance (I'm the same guy who made Bullet-Kin, among a few other mods). I'm just kinda curious as to if this game is well-known here.
  23. Mario: Instead of the Mario finale, he uses a Starman and runs forward, dealing immense damage. Roy: Maybe have him briefly promote and initiate a wide fire slash, referencing the titular Binding Blade's ranged attack. Ness: Still have his companions show up, but instead of PK Starstorm, he uses PSI Rockin', causing a series of psionic explosions all around the stage. Shiek: Pulls out her Harp and performs her Special Attack from Hyrule Warriors. Lucas: Still uses PK Starstorm, but before doing so, Lucas uses PK Ground, emitting a wide shockwave the buries enemies, potentially leaving them helpless to the starstorm. Dark Pit: Instead of just a charged staff shot, he will initiate a rain of arrows, referencing the special attack he uses in his boss fight at the end of the Dark Pit chapter. Toon Link: Still has the same concept, but instead of the Triforce Slash, Toon Link uses a Phantom Sphere to stop time before the flurry of slashes. Byleth: Have Sothis show up as a model and not a 2d image, and have Byleth initiate the move with a radial Divine Pulse.
  24. Tho for serious picks, I'd go for... Marth - Representative of the first game and one of the most iconic lords in the franchise. Hector - As an Elibe rep and as a pure axe-user. Robin - To represent Tome usage. Byleth - To have all the basic weapon types.
