  1. are you sure you're using the latest version of the patch? we fixed this issue two versions ago, or so we think also: please keep all error reports to the main thread. it makes it ten times easier on us to deal with errors if they're all in one place. actually, you posted about this there already, so...
  2. okay, we've updated again. this one must've happened while i was asleep and it slipped my mind for a bit. sorry about that!
  3. holy shit it's a swordmaster!edward card also: holy shit, caladbolg is one of his skills. holy shit, caladbolg now actually exists as far as japanese fe is concerned
  4. that's a hard no, sorry. no conceivable way to access the event data currently exists and there's just so many dead ends at the moment (no gamecube vc, no multiplayer capability for gba vc titles, no ability to import saves from anywhere, no gameshark-esque system to just cheat the event into being) admittedly only the five emblem items and the two music tracks really fall afoul of this, since everything else is available at some point in a normal game
  5. tbh i kind of regret not doing anything to noish (and bridget and, to a lesser extent, oifey), but it'd be an absolute pain in the ass to apply the changes now that everything's in the game. i figure what the hell, it's one less change for people to gripe about
  6. i absolutely see the difficulty in parsing it the intended way, but now i'm laughing my ass off at how the difficulty would be like exactly the same if i just swapped 'em around. might rephrase later (but then i'm not so sure because hey, it's holyn. he's a blunt dude and this phrasing's about as blunt as you get)
  7. dear god i am blushing right now i mean as much as i appreciate the shoutout i can't say i entirely agree with the piece's remarks. i mean i love the game to death and all, and working on it for as long as i have has given me a whole new appreciation for its writing, but i'm not entirely sure i'd describe it as "pushing the boundaries of video game storytelling for the time"
  8. i definitely intend on getting the script up somewhere at some point, since at this point the old dreamwidth copy is horrendously outdated. i'm probably going to wait until we're out of beta and everything's finalised, though, because at this point i'm still open to tweaking it as necessary
  9. okay, a new version is ready. we've sorted out every error reported so far in this thread, except for the slight artifacting on the opening (will look into later) and the kinbaith status menu error (this one came in too late, sorry)
  10. ooh, good point. might have to apply the same tweak to the sword skills as well
  11. oh god, i know what happened there. i think it must've been an ellipsis, but when i typed that line, the word processor took the three periods i typed and turned them into that singular ellipsis character, which the text editor didn't support. sorry, we'll correct this one asap!
  12. i mean, i'd feel a little better about this if i'd only left text errors in like, really obscure conversations that you really have to bend over backwards to get. the mandatory events, not so much:P
  13. thanks very much. passed these onto dds as well. sorry that the beta's off to a rocky start like this, people
  14. okay, i just noticed kind of an embarrassing fuckup with the chapter 2 sigurd/raquesis conversation. if you encountered it, sorry! we'll sort this out as quickly as we can
  15. happy 20th anniversary, genealogy of the holy war. here, have a translation patch! Download the current version: Beta Version 7 (7 July 2016) to use this patch, find yourself a clean japanese rom of the game (no, we can't point you towards one), then apply a patch to the rom using Lunar IPS (for the .ips files) or Delta Patcher (for the xdelta files). the download contains patches of both types for both headered and unheadered roms, so if one of these does not work for you, try the other so, what's new with this translation, you ask? the entire game has been retranslated from the ground up, including everything missed by previous translations the epilogue is fully translated and fully functional a proportional font has been implemented for gameplay and menus the chapter 4 sylvia glitch has been fixed the seliph authority glitch has been fixed Patch credits Japanese-to-English translation: bookofholsety, gringe, Amielleon Programming: DDSTranslation Graphics: AzimuthFE Script editing/special thanks: Tea, Hakkari, Ginger, Mark of the Asphodel Special thanks: MP2E this is an open beta, so we're looking for feedback on any issues with the patch. if you can help us at all by testing the game out with unusual pairings and endings, we'd greatly appreciate that! if you're going to betatest, be sure to follow these directions DDS posted on the rhdn thread: Before You Begin: Check this post to stay up-to-date with the latest beta version. Please be sure to test using either the latest version of Snes9X or Bsnes/Higan. This patch will not function in the ZSNES emulator! Also, be sure to make plenty of saves and be ready with the screenshot button. Cheating seems to affect behavior adversely in the game, so try to avoid it unless absolutely necessary. If you discover any bugs, or have any suggestions to make, please leave a comment in this thread. Changelog: Known Issues: The Unit and Item menu still flicker when scrolling quickly through them (sorry, still working on it :( ) Total turn count at the end shows a stray apostrophe if less than 100. Need to Verify: Epilogue text when Verdane has an heir with an unmarried sibling. Various ending combinations Different character deaths / game overs in every chapter (Don't be afraid to lose!)
  16. tbh i'd be all for that if it means getting certain dialogue blocks out of the name/description strings for cut items :P
  17. best case scenario: it's an app adaptation of cipher. i mean god damn that would be fantastic and it sort of makes sense for the mobile market
  18. we'll probably change it if roy amiibo support is patched into fe14 said amiibo support calls his weapon the "sword of seals" if this does not happen, then calling his weapon that is a hard nope. we've been over this a few times already, except gringe was a lot more diplomatic about it than i am
  19. i just have to say, even though this isn't accurate at all, imo this would theoretically be a really neat thing to implement with a hypothetical future second generation setup. sure, it wouldn't gel particularly well with the modern "everyone must support everyone" attitude, which is clearly already stretching the support writers to breaking point even without the additional worry of coming up with a solution for variable sibling/sibling supports, but it sounds pretty neat on paper at least
  20. why yes, obviously it is absolutely certain that intsys will absolutely never patch functionality for a member of a high-selling peripheral line into a game that is selling very well, is still receiving active post-release dlc/patching support in japan, and is directly relevant to the peripheral in question. there is obviously no economic incentive for them to put together two things which are each having healthy sales, and there is obviously no precedent for high-performing nintendo games patching in support for more amiibo released after the games themselves obviously
