  1. Normal is incredibly easy. I did my first run on Normal and it was incredibly easy. I do think Hard isn't as bad as people say. It offers a handful of real challenges and I have a lot of fun coming up with quick clears in Hard that would be boring on Easy and impossible on Maddening. That said, there is an issue with enemy stats- there's way too many things that can be one-rounded in Hard. I think people overinflate Maddening. It's not unplayable by any means, nor does it necessitate taking hours and hours on every map. It's definitely a big step up and there will be occasions when you need to sit down and strategize, but it's not like you need to do any truly terrible micromanaging to win. I know we'll never get it but something to the tune of Hard+ or Maddening- would be appreciated. Call that Hard, Hard normal, normal easy? I'd love to play something that had the challenge elements of Maddening without restricting the cast quite as harshly; many units in Maddening are never going to one-round anything even with huge favoritism. Honestly, maybe just have the harder Hard be maddening with normal EXP gain. It's not that fun of a difficulty condition to make unit growth incredibly slow, and some characters who could excel given normal (or at least more normal) EXP growth spend all of maddening hiding from enemy range doing gambits/white magic.
  2. Buff Caspar, just a little. He's viable enough on Normal and can be used on Hard, but I find him lacking even on hard and on Maddening he's nowhere near making the cut. Maybe just like 10% str/spd growth and a little bit of base, but IDK, anything. Unit balance in general is not something I typically care about, but given that everyone's basically a trainee in 3H I would like them to grow like trainees
  3. I'd really rather not see Mark's role expanded at all. A lot of people here are saying he gets Robin or Corrin-esque praise all throughout the story, but I really don't see it. Characters moving 1/2 a pixel to "face the player" (lol) and saying "huh, hey mark, how bout them tactics" is nothing like Robin/Corrin. Mark reads like an afterthought and the only effect I want him/her to have on gameplay is tacticians stars. If there HAS to be a Mark in game, I would ask that they're not a Robin or Corrin. FE7's story is already a mess trying to balance the personalities & pursuits of all three lords, so we don't need 100 more lines of "you're so special avatar-kun" to make that work. I think the best implementation would be this: -Corrin/Robin style customization -Maybe some supports but not a hugely expanded role in the story (I want writers to address FE7's shortcomings, not shoehorn in avatar-kun) -Playable but A) not terribly OP and B) can die like any other unit I'm not the type to die on a hill defending the integrity of FE7's story but I think a potential remake should address loose ends & plotholes in FE7 as well as generally add to the story instead of expanding on the ~1 line per chapter the lord spends turning toward the screen and talking about how cool it is they have a tactician.
  4. I know we're all wishcasting here but I feel it has to be said that any avatar will be poorly implemented in the plot. Look at Kris. We all hate Kris, right? The story of Genealogy isn't some untouchable gospel of greatness, but I'd still rather see what's there improved upon instead of an avatar added. A lot of the compromise positions I see here basically end up at "put Byleth in the game" and as a person who found Byleth to be a pretty negative influence of 3H's story in general I'd say that it's best that we have no avatar. Not a soft avatar, not a hard-self insert, but no avatar. If you don't like how Sigurd's written, I have good news: they'll probably write new dialogue if there's a remake.
  5. This doesn't fix it though. Even if bows had 100 might and 100 crit on everything they're still gonna be bad if it means that unit has no enemy phase. There should just be a 1-2 range bow. Make it like it is for every axe and lance unit where you use a good bow to spring for the kill and then have somebody trade the 1-2 range bow so that they don't just take punishment all enemy phase
