  1. Before Superstars, Birdo was playable in Mario Parties 7, 8, and 9. I don't own Super Mario Party, but I was surprised to hear how many people turned against it after the initially good reception it got. Only things I know people didn't like about it were that it only had 4 boards (the fewest of all Mario Party games), and that you couldn't play it using the Pro Controller or in Handheld Mode, but there has too be more too it then that. It did bring back the classic board formula after 9 and 10 used the "everyone travels together" gimmick that was near universally disliked.
  2. Which characters do you prefer playing as in Mario Party? My go-to characters are Luigi, Yoshi, and Wario, but there are others who appeared less frequently in the series who I'd also play as sometimes (Dry Bones, Toad, and Koopa Kid).
  3. Because that would be 20 boards total (if we don't count Minigame Stadium from 1 and 2). I strongly doubt they would be committed to doing that. Heck, even adding 5 boards to make it 10 is unlikely.
  4. ...I personally was counting the units with only alts as "in" because I'm unsure of the probability of their OG versions getting in are, but you bring up a good point. They technically could be added still, so at that point it depends on how many units are in what people call "Alt Hell".
  5. I did say earlier that them relying heavily on alts would be one of the things they'd need to do.
  6. Oh right she exists, the only senior citizen woman in the series (Disregarding Manaketes because apparently being 1,000 yrs old as a dragon is the equivalent to being a child (Nowi and Young Tiki) while 3,000 is the equivalent to being a young adult (Adult Tiki)). There's also best waifu Meg, lol. ...Who am I kidding? If Meg ever got in, IS would probably alter her appearance to make it look like she's not fat even though she's one of the only two plus size women in the series. Wasn't sure if I should count 3H Anna as not in yet but I guess I could. Dorothea and Leonie are in as alts, so I do count them as in.
  7. Mario Party 1 was the most "no holds barred" game in the series, and few games had a board(s) that had the same level of chaos (Again, why no Bowser Land or Waluigi's Island?). The satisfaction of creating your own territory on a board is why I like playing Monopoly.
  8. Yeah, that makes more sense. Heroes has been one of their best games financially from the Mobile market.
  9. 2022 will be an interesting year as to how they handle who appears in New Heroes banners because of how there's not many women left who aren't in Heroes yet. I already mentioned before on this topic how Lucia and Calill are the only women left from Path of Radiance, while Othin mentioned the Radiant Dawn women. Gaiden/Echoes just has the Cipher characters Emma, Yuzu, and Shade left (They'll probably make a Valentian Est as well so she's in line with her sisters). Manuela is the only (playable) woman missing from Three Houses, Blazing Sword has only Isadora and Vaida left, and there's none left from Conquest, as Nyx was the last one. I can see 2022 being the last year for Heroes unless they either focus on putting more male units in the game, or by focusing heavily on alts.
  10. I just want more content from this game regardless if it's free or not, but I'm aware of how mixed Nintendo has been with that when it comes to Mario. Mario Kart 8, Mario Tennis Aces, and Mario Maker 1 received good updates, but others like Odyssey, Super Mario Party, and most of the 3DS entries got little to nothing. I'm also unsure of how invested they are with Mario Golf Super Rush, but it's definitely not getting the same amount of attention that Aces got.
  11. We're still overdue for a new Radiant Dawn banner. Hoping the Dawn Brigade makes it so Nolan can finally be in.
  12. Would like to see him or Dry Bones again. I'm hoping that datamine wasn't just showing a place holder. Reverse Mushrooms were the greatest idea for an item from Mario Party 3, and I would love Boo Repellents for protection.
  13. @AnonymousSpeed It was even worse in the original game because the flower lottery was BEFORE the star instead of after it like it is here. Making it after the star was a good change, but not enough to salvage it. Superstars reeks of DLC potential, and I absolutely welcome it (seriously, why is there only 2 minigames from Mario Party 8?)
  14. How do you feel about the board selection in Mario Party Superstars (if we ignore that there's only 5 boards)? Aside from Yoshi's Tropical Island and Horror Land, I feel like there could've been better choices. I would've taken either Western Land or Bowser Land over Space Land even though it's an ok-ish board. While they improved Peach's Birthday Cake, I still think it was one of the worst boards to pull from Mario Party 1 (still better then Wario's Battle Canyon if I can give it any other credit). Would've taken DK's Jungle Adventure or Mario's Rainbow Castle over it. Woody Woods is another ok-ish board, but not picking Waluigi's Island was a major missed opportunity. Arguably one of the most creative boards in the franchise's history, while still being really fun (it's theme is also a bop, and fits the character ridiculously well). If not Waluigi's Island, then maybe Spiny Desert for it's mirage gimmick, for the sake of having something different.
  15. Wasn't Lifis also the one who gave away Leif's location to kick off the events of Thracia 776? If that's true, then that's something he has over Makalov; plot importance, so at least adding him made sense even though he's also a scumbag.
  16. If we were going to get only one male on this banner, I'm glad it was Volke. Been seeing Makalov brought up a few times here, and while it would've made sense for him to be here because of Astrid and Marcia, I'm glad he's not. He's one of the worst characters in the franchise. He's the definition of human trash. Lucia and Calill are the only women left from Path of Radiance not yet playable in Heroes. If that game gets another banner, we will most likely see them (and if we're lucky, Geoffrey, Bastian, and maybe Largo).
  17. Thinking about it more after seeing how you phrased this, it makes sense that people might forget about her. She's just there, without anything to help her stand out. She's been a disappointment every time I've attempted to use her. Most levels she gets for me are 3 stats or fewer so she doesn't grow well despite her low base level to get experience faster. I find her accuracy is really bad, so getting chip damage with her is unreliable. She might as well be wearing Niles' eye patch over her eye that's not obscured by her hair. Her personal skill is also one of the most useless (she gets 50% more healing from staffs or rods which doesn't mesh well with her being an Archer). And as mentioned before, Takumi (and Reina) exists, so that's rough competition for her. I'd rather have Hana. While Yumi weapons have high Might, they also have low Hit, and Setsuna doesn't have the Skill stat to counter it. Hana doesn't have the accuracy issues that Setsuna has because of being a Katana user, and she still has more of an enemy phase then her, even if not by much.
  18. I'm not sure if I'm more surprised that Subaki and Rinkah are being discussed as the worst Birthright unit, or that Setsuna isn't part of that discussion. ...Or how Birthright is the most talked about game on this topic. I absolutely see the flaws mentioned with those two. Subaki has never been one for Strength, and Hinoka joins only one chapter later then him. Rinkah's high Defense is usually her only standout stat, but still lacks HP to complement it. Her Skill cap in her base class is only 14, which is absolutely terrible when higher level Clubs have bad hit rates, and her Magic is too low to make much use of Scrolls if she goes Oni Chieftain. She also starts with E rank in her base class, a flaw that only her and Mozu share (Corrin has a lot of time to train Sword/Katana rank from E before the decision, and Sakura is a healer so it doesn't hinder her very much). On the other hand, Subaki is still a flyer at base so he can help ferry other units around, and has decent enough bulk to do that job just fine. Rinkah has one of the better personal skills in Fates with Fiery Blood (+4 damage dealt when she's not at full health), and can patch her poor Skill by going Blacksmith upon promotion, while also giving her a more accurate weapon option with Katanas (she'll still have to raise it from E rank, but thems the breaks).
  19. I meant in terms of general performance compared to the rest if the cast rather then how they are conceptually, but you bring up a good point. Guess I can't afford leave out anything when creating a topic, eh?
  20. Sorry for such a late response, was busy this week. Here are my picks: Blazing Sword: Karla. 14 Base Strength with only 3 chapters left (2 if you skip/miss 32X) when she joins you is just awful. Plus getting her requires that you train Bartre, who's also not very good. As for Eliwood mode since she's not there at all, my pick goes to Nino as training her can be tricky, as most enemies one round or even one shot her Sacred Stones: Marisa (in Ephraim Route). Another case of joining much later then another character of the same class. In Eirika Route, my pick is Ewan for have defenses that's worse then paper. Path of Radiance: Rolf. Relies too heavily on his first few levels needing to be good, plus Bows aren't very good in this game. Radiant Dawn: Fiona. Only available for 2 maps in Act 1, and also comes with rough bases. While Savoir is free for her, you can easily take it off her and give it to someone else. Shadow Dragon: Norne. You have to kill off one of your other units (besides the sacrifice) in the Prologue to even get her, so you'll most likely never see her. Awakening: Virion. A rough base Speed on a unit who starts as an Archer so he's not likely to counter attack. I know Donnel (who has been brought up plenty here) has even worse bases, but training him isn't that hard, and his Growths are insane, even for Awakening's standards. Fates Birthright: Setsuna. Has major accuracy issues between her poor Skill and Yumis that have poor hit rates. Also is in the same route as Takumi, who has overall higher bases (besides having one less Res) including a base Skill of 17 as well as the Fujin Yumi that has 14 Mt. Fates Conquest: Charlotte. Is very fragile despite her high base HP due to her lacking Defense and especially Res and has accuracy issues. Also joins at a point where you have most of your team figured out while having nothing she can provide that isn't already done by someone else. Fates Revelations: Gunter. His inability to support Corrin in this route hinders him greatly, and doesn't have the bases that he has in Conquest either while still having his awful growths. Shadows of Valentia: Nomah. Gets one rounded by nearly everything due his awful Speed (which has a growth of 0%) and Defense. Three Houses: Anna. Can't support anyone, and lacking in stats outside of Speed. If DLC is not a factor, then I'll go with Manuela. Has an awkward Faith magic spell list and a bane in Reason, and lacks the Magic to use those spells very well. Also lacks Strength to fight physically in case of emergencies.
  21. Who would you say is the worst unit in each Fire Emblem game that you've played (disregarding their character)?
  22. I'm passing on it. $50 is too much for a handful of N64 games I'd love to play, and I don't have any attachment to the Genesis. Plus I'm not an Animal Crossing player, so that would be paying for something I'd never use. If you still have your Wii U, you're better off getting some of the games from it's Virtual Console instead (especially if you're the type who's against using unofficial emulators).
  23. "GBA sound font"... if I had a dollar for every time I heard that used as a point against the system. To move away from Fire Emblem for a moment, it's true that it has let down certain game's music (Pokemon Red Rescue Team and the Super Mario Bros. 2 port spring to mind), but there are others that still make it work despite that (Metroid Fusion, Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga, Pokemon Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald, and even Wario Land 4 despite how weird it's music can be). Listening to Binding Blade's OST in particular recently is what prompted this topic, and after thinking on it more, I think it's in my top 5 GBA Soundtracks.
  24. I don't hear people talk about music from the GBA Fire Emblem games much, so I'll ask: What are some of your favorite music tracks from Binding Blade, Blazing Sword, and Sacred Stones? Some of mine are Frontier (Western Isles Enemy Phase), Attack! (Binding Blade), Distant Travels (Hector's 2nd Map theme), and Determination (Map theme for the 1st half of Ephraim's route).
  25. Give Seteth a go for one of your playthroughs, it's silly how good he is at base despite being one of the last units you can get. Then there's Claude, who you could keep in his personal class after the timeskip, or reclass him into a Wyvern Rider(Lord) if you want him to focus on Axes more instead of Bows.
