Celica is the true waifu!

It might sound odd for a Japan-only game to be my favourite. I played it a few years ago on an emulator with a fan translation and a couple things put it up on the list for me. 1. Town exploration was such a cool thing, being able to see a non-battle sprite walk around a town, talk to people and get treasure, make it feel like a more fleshed out RPG. 2. For an NES game, the story really grabbed me, and the last stage brought all that to a proper climax. 3. Celica is the OG grandmaster and a top-tier princess. Her Awakening appearance, I liked; but her class choice was a little messed up. Her Echoes design though, I think is perfect. The art style and design is both a fresh look and a throwback to the original. I think Gaiden definitely makes sense for a remake though as it can now come out in the west and the new fire emblems borrow enough elements from Gaiden to (likely) make it approachable by both pre- and post-awakening fans. Also third person dungeon exploration? Looks just awesome, and I hope they have enough of it in the game to feel substantial. Also, a lot of the music in Gaiden is quite repetitive, but I find it quite catchy at the same time, and I think I'll definitely be listening to the OST on youtube the second they're uploaded (the one from the trailer sounds great). If they had made this a Switch game, I would've instantly had a reason to get one, but its nice to have it come as a 3DS game (I have two) and I'm also kind of surprised that it's really not that far away from release! It feels like Fates just came out a few months ago. Gaiden feels like it would be too short of a game for the 3DS, so I definitely hope they add new levels/content as well from the original (Awakening length or bust). Either way, I'm really happy and the reveal had my jaw to the floor. I'm wondering, if Echoes does well, do you guys think there's a chance for a FE 4/5 remake, or are they too much of a risk? In conclusion, this is definitely a day one buy for me; possibly even a Special Edition purchase (I've never bought a special edition of a game before) and a possible amiibo purchase (the only one I have currently a blue yarn yoshi). Topic, its time to get my Japanese text learning going. I can understand the menu commands that are the same as awakening and surprisingly to myself I can understand 90% of the spoken voices (thanks animu) but I want to be able to read the dialogue.

I'm on chapter 12 of Hoshido and I have no idea what the victory conditions are, OP's post didnt seem to help any edit: figured it out.

Plus in this game you can heal 2 spaces away

Phoenix mode makes healing pointless, at that point it doesnt even feel like FE. and if I could read moon runes I'd probably play classic, language barrier is extra difficulty enough right now

No im on chapter 11. Im playing normal so I believe its reversable on normal. Actually i think I can change it back and forth from casual to phoenix whenever i want

Ummm actually guys I managed to change it back... It can be done. I just went to the same thing I suspected messed it up and recognized an option that was the kanji (or kana? idk what characters this game is in) and changed it back.

Oh well, on the bright side I'll never have to use a healing tome again

moonspeak has betrayed me Please tell me I can change this back because I do not want to be stuck on scrub phoenix mode for the rest of my playthrough

If they bring back marriage/children I hope its in the style of FE4, where first half you play as parents and second half you play as all the kids. Makes it more about stats and less about waifuism.

What size sd card would you recommend for an import console? And american sd cards work just fine?

Couple questions when it comes to these: Strong Points: 力持ち Has great power = strength? 頭が良い　Is bright/intelligent = magic? 手先が器用　has good dexterity = skill? 素早い　is fast = speed? 運が良い is lucky = luck? 打たれ強い able to take a beating = defense? 冷静沈着 calm and composed = resistance? 健康 healthy = hp? Also does strong points mean better base amount, better max amount, or better growth rates? Woops double toast

I ordered from playasia Friday morning and it got here today, it was supposed to come Tuesday but it got delayed a day because of thunderstorms, and then Wednesday was Canada day so it didn't get delivered. So really it took 4 business days @Kirokan thanks, I don't read Japanese but I am honestly hoping to be able to learn some by playing and internet translating etc

Pretty stoked, just have to finish the work day first. I imported a Japanese 3ds and the Hoshido version, I'll wait to play the other two when they're localized next year. If you guys have any general Fates tips or jao 3DS tips let me know. And since I'll be playing through the game feel free to ask me any questions you'd like to know that you can't find answers to else where.
