  1. So is it just me or does anyone else think that flying units always feel a bit awkward when it comes to branched promotions? I mean they'll either have 2 promotions with different mounts(one keeping the old and one getting a new mount),which feels kinda awkward as it feels like one promotion throws the previous mount away(and flying units usually talk a lot about their bond with their mount) or they keep the mount for both upgrades, which in my opinion feels a bit like both promotions are essentially the same unit, just with slight variations. So I wondered: What do you prefer? Do you like it more if they keep the mount consistent across all the upgrades or do prefer it when both upgrades have different mounts. Or would you prefer an entirely different approach to the flying units when it comes to branched promotions? Like making flyers promoted units only, making them promotionless(like for example the manaketes),or giving them only 1 promotion even in a game with branched promotions. Personally I think giving both promotions the same mount is the best option, but they should try to differentiate the 2 a bit more.I mean when I choose if my cavalier turns into a paladin or an arch knight,I'm basically choosing if I want a light or heavy cavalry unit, which both feel rather different. But when I choose if my pegasus knight turns into a falcon knight or a dark flier, then it feels less like I am choosing between 2 classes, but more like I am choosing which secondary weapon/skills my upgraded pegasus knight gets. For example what if instead one pegasus upgrade would be the falcon knight while the other has a flying chariot pulled by a pegasus? Buut anyway what is your opinion about this topic?
  2. Overall I think this would be a really neat idea, though not every nation would get unique classes, because that would easily become overkill. Fates did a good job for the most part in my opinion, though there were still some weird inequalities(hoshido having no horse-units,Nohr not having a starting class with hidden weapons and hoshido having the apothecary,a second bow-using class, even though that class was barely used at all). Though what I wonder: What about knights? In fates the counterpart to the knights were the lancers, but I'd argue that Lancer and Soldier could make good counterparts, wheras knights could get another armored class as their counterpart. Also since I'm not very fond of the oni-class I feel like barbarians should return, with fighters becoming more tanky to differentiate them from the barbarians a bit more.
  3. i haven't decided which one I'll take. I'll probably play all 3 campaigns and will use Oni,Wyvern rider and Dark mage respectively, but I haven't decided which one I'll take in which campaign.
  4. Yeah, but Donny had to reclass into other classes,he didn't promote to anything, promotions however almost always keep the weapon types of the prepromotes and only add new to them(the only exceptions I can think of are dark knights loosing access to dark magic in awakening(but tomes were one weapon type anyway) and ewan loosing his ability to use anima magic when he promotes to a shaman(but ewan was a pre-prepromote and there were no other tier1-anima users)),while we had already a troubadour turning into a foot-unit in awakening;).
  5. What if every character has a child depending on them. So that no matter which characters you pair, you'd get 2 siblings. I really doubt it,but it is a possibility. Alternatively some characters might be able to get children and some not,I mean if it is really true, that garon can join your team, then I doubt that he is still able to get children.
  6. Yeah, rod knights turning into dark knights brings up the problem that they'd loose their ability to use staffs, which is pretty much their primary use in combat. I also think that priestess will promote to divine spellcaster, because she is more or less the female version of the monk already(wouldn't surprise me if war priestess and hermit get the same skills) I actually hope that lancers can turn into weapon masters instead of freelancers, because then the spellcasters would have at least one promotion unique to them.
  7. I think this is most likely the case because you rarely saw her back and she was covered in armor on the front,it simply wasn't very noticeable. Also I think it is surprising how no one whines about Rinka considering that she is showing a lot of skin and not wearing any real armor at all(heck even charlotte is wearing more),but appearantly she gets a free pass because she is showing off her muscles.
  8. Doubt it is going to be more than the hair color. I mean children aren't even central to the plot this time around,so I doubt they'll really bother with that. However I think that this time the conversations with the "other"-parent(the one that isn't tied to the kid,in this game its the mothers) might be a bit more unique.
  9. I don't really get your point here. Yes Troubadours were female only in the past, but like you said, they also give us a female fighter and a male pegasus rider this time around,so why shouldn't there be a male troubadour?(Or Rod knight as they are called in this game) If you go by Awakening classes, then the barbarian would be the opposite of the troubadour and this games counterpart to the barbarian seems to be the Oni,who is also getting a female character Especially since it looks like the rod knight promotes into strategist or maid/butler,meaning that Jakob should have Rod knight as his base class.
  10. Overall I hope that every version will have access to all classes,in which case a male troubadour who can be recruited regardless of the version you are playing doesn't sound so unlikely. But then again we have already lots of staff users on both sides(in both versions you get Felicia,Jakob and your little sister and hoshido has this priest dude, while nohr probably gets the blue haired maid),so I dunno, maybe it is really only a child character(in which case I'd suggest that it would be Jakobs,I mean childs are this time dependant on the father,so someone who is avaliable in both versions would make sense)
  11. I'll simply take the gender that has the better design options, thats why I used a female character in awakening and I may use one in Fates as well. I probably want to play both routes eventually though,so I will take the opposite gender on the 2nd route.
  12. Overall Shara looks really similar to tharja, but still a bit different. i think we might get children who are similar to gaius and cordelia as well, but I hope they will have at least some differences. Though I still hope that there is an explanation for the 3 children characters on the nohr side,as they look really identical to their awakening counterparts. I think it was confirmed that the child is this time around dependent on the father, while the hair colour depends on the mother. Shara has purple hair, because Orochi has purple hair;)
  13. I wonder how they handle the class change options this time around. What really annoyed me was that in Awakening the children had all their parents classes, meaning that while the parents were(mostly)limited to 3 classes, children could have twice as many choices(in Kjelles case even 7). This time around it looks like every character has 2 base classes to choose from,so that could mean that children are now getting one class from each of their parents(the default class being related to the father and the optional one to the mother)
  14. I dunno about Camilla being this games Minerva.I mean she is already a promoted unit,so I'd say that Belka or Crimson could fit that archetype a bit better(especially crimson whose alliance hasn't been revealed so far and seems to be a possible ally in the hoshido route)
  15. Yes she wants Kamui to come back to his senses, but she also says that she'd be ok with it if kamui kills her, which implies that she either lost her will to live,or did something where she can understand it if kamui wants to kill her for it.
